Not to minimize the gravity of the incident but I believe the second floor in this instance
is what is usually known as the first storey. That is not too high. One can survive falls
from such heights even an elderly woman.

I have never heard Fela blame Danjuma for his mother's death. Do you mean Shehu Yar'adua
who Fela frequently mentions?

Bro....how can u even surmise that a 70yr old woman would have no trouble surviving being thrown of the second floor of a buildingna Olympicsshe didn't decide she wanted to test the limits of her body by herself by jumping o....she was thrown off!!!by soldiers for that matter....do u think she was ushered off the building
Nothing justifies pushing a 70yr old woman down, talk less of throwing her off a building.we don't even know what the state of her health was before the incident, but we all have, or had old people in our lives and know that at 70, it ain't easy...and this ur talk abt second floor being known as first storey doesn't tally o...are u saying they didn't know the difference between ground floor, first floor and second??
And have u seen fela's house??i believe it's more than a storey high..
A 70 yr old woman is thrown off the second floor of a building??and she survivednaaaaa...she just ain't certified dead yet...

Ileke....u need to really stop this...it's beginning to look like this ur love for fine face Farouk is more serious than u joked..even in the face of all sorts of evidence u are insistent on calling a spade a pen.....it baffles me, honestly..
U said jagaba didn't come out on time....how does this change his evidence that he has maintained ,both then and now,abt ur boyfriend not giving him any money??then u went abt saying the audio and video tapes didn't exist...even after otedola's lawyer had come out hours after to debunk what the house of rep member said, and to clarify that it wasn't abt the existence of the tapes, but on how it made its way to the press..
Now u are on again abt authenticity of the same tapes u have been trying to prove to us don't exist....babe...na wa for u o..
U are beginning to sound like Farouk himself......"I never collected bribe.....it was a caricature of me....I collected the money cos I wanted to expose otedola...I gave it to jagaba...I collected money, not bribe..."etc...
Why hasn't the fact that Farouk has not said anything so far that has tallied, mean anything to you??

Okija_juju:

You are wrong.. That was a technical ball..

Watching the replay from our high angle HD cameras, we can understand how you would think its a goal, but however it only hit the crossbar..

If until the ball crosses the line (Otedola provides the video), we cant consider it a goal.. However, that was a brilliant counter attack by the very sharp attacker.. Team Farouk needs to tighten its defence as I think team Otedola has something brilliant under its sleeve.. So far, Otedola is maintaining the attacking pressure.. Not even the interferance of Farouks supporters (The house of Reps) can stop Lionel Otedola..

Scores remain;

Otedola: 1 vs. Farouk: 1

The second half begins soon..
as far as I am concerned, Farouk never score...u guys should stop ascribing any goal to Farouk....his goal has been ruled an offside goal..lol....it's still advantage otedola....

If u had even settled down to read what the committee member said, it was on how the tapes, whether audio or video, got to the media...not on whether he had it or not.its possible that the house member's intention was to decieve Nigerians tho..with the help of the media....cos I don't know how someone sayin he didn't give something to anoda now translates to the person sayin he doesn't have it at all!
Wht did he expect otedola to say?that he gave the tapes to the media?so that they will find a way to turn tables on his head?

It may be that you went to one of these "computer colleges" at the corner of your street, but even then bro you daft sha.

Let me help you out. No government can and will tolerate a situation where Government funded and organized activities shun or run from territories under their control, more so when those territories are part of their country. This applies to all ALL governments, you need to start to think like an educated person and less like a bricklayer. However I recognize that I may be expecting to much from you.

Ahhhh...I was wondering whether u worms would have the courage to come out of the woodwork to defend the govt on this.....I guess I should have known that worms will be worms....at least u have to justify ur place and salary on one of them computers el rufai spoke abt....we understand...
Let ME help u out.......if these areas were under their control as u so state, the chief security officer of the country shouldn't have issues going there, should he?cos only someone thinkin like a bricklayer would not know that this is a pretty effective way of telling people that u are in control and ur govt funded and organized activities can go on as planned...

1st of all to dose dropping insults on me, U are all nothing but foolisht empty barrels..U are all moda-fockers who can't stand a heated debate and will resort to abuses wen U are not making sense or being stupidly irrational.

So far, I have not seen any concrete reason why U are judging Otedola innocent and Farouk guilty.
The only physical evidence so far are Otedola's voice conversation's recordings with Farouk.
Out of all the evidences from both parties that av been verbally declared to be available.
Is dat all that the court will base its judgement on?

Stop jumping up and down like squirells, be mature, put ur palm on ur chin, let it cross to ur face, watch, dig, look, analyze. Let both parties exhaust their arsenal b4 concluding.

This is a land mark case...

So far nobody here has been smart enof to reveal a concrete reason why Farouk is guilty.
And for d dogs barking at me, I av not said anny1 is guilty or innocent, I am only weighing evidences, antecedents and processes.

Mind U, the case is Otedola vs Farouk/the probe committee. And I stand by my words dat he has no effontry to choose how he will appear b4 d house c"tee on ethics.
Love them, hate them, the house reps all Nigerians, they are d apex law makers in d land.
Otedola can afford d best lawyers and d best he can do is go there with his lawyers.. Publicly or in camera... Peace y'all
Bros....no vex..but let's try to be rational here now...not everyone has taken sides here to the best of our knowledge...otedola or Farouk, we know say dem get am for body..all we're saying is there should be transparency in the way this stuff is to be handled..naija don tire for hidden stuff..let everything be out in the open....u have people here supporting otedola's demand for a public hearing!and we Nigerians deserve it.this is a house of reps dat had said this hearing would be public, then they throw out the media when Farouk came in, wit the silly excuse that they didn't want to compromise the other witnesses or some crap or the other....u cannot blame otedola for playing to the public gallery..it's what the reps had the chance to do but since they probably chopped the money together they dare not!pls read otedola's statement again...d guy make sense naa....u did all the so called Farouk hearings in public, why go closed door now ??
Did u watch the news??these so called committee members were insulting otedola just because he said he wanted to do this in public..calling him stupid and saying things like otedola insulted them cos he said he wasn't going to talk...do they sound like people that will give an unbiased view of this matter?
And finally,bros........armed robber dey house, catch anoda robber...u say becos the first one na thief make we no call the other one thief yet..how now??catch otedola first and see if he won't be called one...as for now, it's Farouk dat has questions to answer....
U can't have him give these many different stories abt his role in all this and still come out tops...from caricature to agreeing that it was him but that he was going to expose otedola ...to saying he gave the money to a colleague who promptly denied him to saying that he collected money not bribe(by the way, dem put gun for him head give am the money?)...........
By the way, let's not forget that he did what he was paid to do, whether he was approached to or he did the approaching...have u forgotten dat part bros??

If I may ask, what was mr president doing there with the PDP delegation if it wasn't to solicit the Oba's support??someone on this thread has given us so many examples of Parties (PDP in particular) going to visit traditional rulers in other to get their support, and none of u had anything to say abt that..instead all I was reading was 'don't derail the thread'!!!wetin!!!what is good for the goose is good for the gander now!!
If our president had wanted to pay a courtesy call as the president of our people, he should have gone there alone.since he decided to play politics with the destiny of Edo people, the Oba put him in check.he should be glad that the Oba respected his office and still recieved him alone.

lanre_front: @Beaf = Dedeike = Billionyare = Reno Omokri + numerous unknown ids,

Stop trying to confuse Nairalanders and Nigerians. All that has come to light recently, the mind-blowing corruption in the subsidy regime, the subsidy-report, the $620k bribe-taking-&-giving, alledged $10m bribe-taking-&-giving: all this does not prove that the [fanthom] subsidy has to be removed completely.

Actually it PROVES THE EXACT OPPOSITE of the position you are trying to dupe Nigerians into accepting. It proves that there is no need for any subsidy. It proves that the original N245 billion naira appropriated for subsidy is more than enough or enough. It proves that Jonathan, just like Lawan is a thief, by spending N3000 billion naira for THIS SAME ITEM which an ADEQUATE N245 billion naira was apprropriated for by the National Assembly WITHOUT RESORTING back to the Assembly to ask for permission. If Jonathan did not ILLEGALY & CRIMINALLY approve the money, the theiving marketeters wouldn't have been able to theif the money. So just who has the GREATER RESPONSIBILTY here, and who is the GREATER THEIF here.

People wonder why Joanthan is evidently not interested in implementing the subsdiy report. (Before you GEJ Ass-lickers shout the current report has been compromised, then the President should ORDER ANOTHER ONE FOR GOD'S SAKE!! It's that simple) It's because there there is no way the the marketers can be idicted without Joanthan and the Presidency being indicted.

Will someone in charge of Nairaland for God's sake ban this Beaf and his multiple IDs. I think Nairaland's credibilty is at stake here.

You know nothing about evidence and law. Never base your sense of judgement on assumption....I ask again, show me where it is stated that Nigerians where the associates the money was wired to in Nigeria.
lomzy1:

It seems u guys don't know how internet fraud now operate in nigeria. There are different types of internet fraud now. Each year.. New styles come up.
Have u ever walked into a cybercafe in nigeria and what u see is a young kid running a facebook page of a white or black handsome american soldier? They usually get pics from d internet and then open a facebook address with it. They use a foreign name, address and they claim to be serving in other parts of d world.. Some desperate women out there looking for partners easily fall for these people.. Just in d name of dating and marriage. Sooner or later d so called soldiers would start demanding for money from their unsuspecting victims.
I believe the 2 women arrested were acting as the sister or mother. The fraudster may tell d victims he needs to send some money to his sister or mum in US but since he is on d war front, he cant do that. He wouldn't have used nigeria as his base cos that wld spoil d whole runs.
Am sure one of d 2 women must have been gotten from an online datings sites as well, and they must have developed a mutual friendship before they introduce them to the deal.

D biz is based on percentage, the women receive d money in US, and then remit d other percentage to nigeria.
This is d latest yahoo in town, just try and visit any cybercafe and u wil understand what am saying. I wish the nigerians could be traced as well. These are d boys u see in clubs buying 12 bottles of champagne, lodging in big hotels for months and living large. Its so sad when someone working so hard in nigeria see this kind of stuff, this is how some ppl also start to defraud others, when they are being oppressed by small boys.
When our leaders have shown us that fraud and corruption pay.. And u cld walk away with it. Would u then blame these boys that don't have jobs after graduating?
If most of these boys cld have a trustworthy partners like d women in US. Am afraid there wld have been more young yahoo millionaires in nigeria now. Its high time efcc clamped down on these yahoo boys.. They shld start visiting cybercafe to fish them out.

The way some Nigerians reason is enuff for u to know say God na God!!here u are readin a report that these ladies are part of a Nigerian Internet dating scam...reading that they wired the money to their Nigerian associates....in Nigeria...and it's not enuff for u to know that Nigerians are involved abi??this is a serious case of "this looks like sh&t..lemme smell it....it smells like sh&t...lemme taste it...hmm..it tastes like sh&t....it is sh&t!!!!!thank God I didn't step on it!!"

I don't care much for all this talk abt unilateral being a brand, but the fact still remains that a mistake was made in the renaming..he should have consulted, sent it to the national assembly etc before getting up on national television to talk..I am not a jona-hater,I just believe he's surrounded by incompetent people who are supposed to help him think..it's unfortunate that he surrounded himself with these crappy people, but the buck lies on his table cos the power to send dem packin is still his...hence when he does something the wrong way,he receives knocks..cos when he does something good, the praise is solely his!
