Politics › Re: Open Fight Between Obasanjo And Atiku: Bad For Third Term! by toshmann(m): 2:13pm On Apr 07, 2006
yes they are all crooks but we need to get democracy fast. if it takes a crook to help us get the democracy then so be it. to be honest it is a shame for obj to want to hang on to power when he can hand over, be a hero as the 1st civilian president to hand over to a civilian successor and return to otta with honor. but he chose the ibb way of missing an opprtunity to be a hero.

if it takes other crooks(all of them are crooks anyway) to stop dictatorial tendency,so be it. no matter how i dislike ibb, i must give him some credit for coming out against the 3rd term(if at all he is not dribbling us again, but i don't want him as the president) since he denounced the 3rd term the anti-3rd term focres have gained momentum.

imagine what happened in sheraton hotel abuja. is that democracy? cant we see a dictator in obasanjo? cant we see? have u ever heard of any reasonable demonstration inthis country? what happens to freedom of expression. the nation is drifting. and for those who thought the us//uk can help us in this fight, the worst they can do is impose sanctions on the country. u and i know who suffers the consequencies of sanctions.-the poor masses.
Politics › Re: Is Nigeria A Developing Or A 3rd World Country? by toshmann(m): 11:54am On Apr 07, 2006
when you consider countries like india, brazil, indonesia etc being called 3rd world countries, one begins to wonder if there is a 4th world country. because the situation in nigeria is so funny, imagine hosting a world cup and the light goes out in the middle of a match.
common election we can't hold, see census. ha! we may be 5th world sef
Politics › Re: 2003 Elections Not Credible But Successful --prof. Iwu by toshmann(m): 11:49am On Apr 07, 2006
onanugaola:
The chairman of INEC, Prof. Iwu, was quote as saying the 2003 (419) election was not credible but successful.

Which is important? A credible election or successful election?
i think the important thing is to understand that iwu is confused and has displayed signs of inefficiency and insincerity. how can something that is not credible be successful?

or has he changed the meaning of success? that guy needs either a pschiatrist,or english lectures,or resignation b4 it gets too late. this is the kind of daft leadership the ruling pdp is giving us for next elections.

who will liberate this country?
Politics › Re: Why Do Governors Support The Third Term Agenda? by toshmann(m): 11:45am On Apr 07, 2006
most of the goversnors supporting the 3rd term have skeleton in their cupboards and so the presidency used the threat of EFCC to blackmail them into supporting the 3rd term agains their will.
Politics › Re: Open Fight Between Obasanjo And Atiku: Bad For Third Term! by toshmann(m): 11:43am On Apr 07, 2006
we must take note of atiku's words that democracy is growing in countries like Ghana, Benin, Senegal etc and the so called african giant(nigeria)is slumping into dictatorial abyss like Uganda.
anything to stop the 3rd term(non violently)will be wellcome(except interference of western countries)

if i can get a job that will pay me the equivalent of £500.00 monthly in nigeria, honestly i will remain there for life. i hate the treatment one recieves occassionally from these dudes here. i'm made to feel inferior. and if one doesn't take time one may gradually and unwittingly start accepting that may be one's race is actually inferior.

SHIT. no matter what, there's no place like home

but then who go give me that kind job for naija when i no dey PDP.

nigeria will definitely improve. but what i don't know is if it will be in our lifetime. for now what we have is one step forward, seven steps backward. but if we continue with democracy(anyhow e be)it will improve over the decades.

just recently the new york times, washington post and the BBC hammered the nigerian govt on the taylor affair. how fair is that? taylor was not in jail in nigeria, he came to nigeria not as a prisoner but as an agreement by west african nations for the sake of peace in liberia. he was free to move around in the country.
this same guy escaped from prison in boston and nobody attacked america for that. when alami escaped from british custody we didn't attack the U.K. hoe could the BBC accuse nigeria of being "irresponsible and incompetent"?

it hurts. sad

anyway, my main problem is not what sibli's ancestors did to mine, but what is happening now. talking about school and what was taught, right now, even here in Wales, i'm being taught by disciplined professors, whites, british, and they have exposed to us, wholly, the hipocrisy of the west. they teach us how the world powers have made sure that Africa never grows. WTO.(world trade organisation) that is where justice should start. they have taught me, in british schools, how the west cheated, is cheating and plans to continue to cheat the rest (of the world).

how can i trust this people.

Politics › United States, United Nations And Africa: Friends Or Foes? by toshmann(op): 7:46pm On Mar 30, 2006
Brothers, i have watched overtime the flow of international politics. i have seen how the US, UN,EU etc have given assistance to African countries. but there are questions beyond these assistance. foreign aid is usually tied(conditional) and these conditions are usually against poor African countries interests. the issues in WTO(World trade organisation) ensure that africa remains poor forever and the powers that be wont change it. when we need these guys most, they fail us. they failed us in somalia, they failed us in liberia, they failed us in sierra leone, they insulted us in rwanda(when they prefered to save animals than Africans)
but information is distorted by western media. e.g, Mugabe has been the leader in Zimbabwe, we never knew how bad he was till he turned against the british, then we saw, steadily on BBC how despotic mugabe is.

my question is;do you think these guys(US,UK,EU,UN)Really love Africa truly.?

when u get to heathrow airport, the way the officials scrutinise ur passport is baffling, the questions u r asked is annoying, but the worst fact is when those nasty dogs start to sniff u around. but this doesn't happen to citizens of other so called industrialised nations.

and he has the temerity to also insult me on nairaland. i don't blame him.

yes, stay out of our politics. as for ur 3rd insult, i'm not surprised, it runs in the blood, ur ancestors insulted mine. it has been there for centuries so there's no surprise but pls stay out PERIOD.i wont fall for the temptations of trading insults. i'm civilised.

LET US DETERMINE FOR OURSELVES AFTER ALL U'VE GIVEN US INDEPENDENCE, SO LEAVE US ALONE. if u loved africa so much, what did u do during the rwandan crisis, the somalian crisis, the liberian and sierra leonean crises. what did u do.i mean the british govt, wt did they do?

oh, i forgot, those countries don't have much oil. unlike iraq. isn't it?

see, i want to concentrate on the nigerian leaders who destroy our country. let's not talk about these westerners(uk,us,eu etc) who are interested in making sure that africa never grows(i repeat myself; they are making sure that AFRICA NEVER GROWS;i challenge anyone to challenge that statement)

the nigerian leaders are our worst enemies
