Foreign Affairs / Re: Michelle Obama As Marie Antoinette? by Travelista(f): 5:14pm On Aug 06, 2010 |
Michelle Obama is the First Lady; where do they expect her to stay? The YMCA? Best Western? Besides, doesn't the Secret Service get the final say as to where the President and his family stay due to security logistics? I'm sure they'd be happy if the woman stayed in the US, taking Greyhound buses to visit places like Rockford. |
Romance / Re: Questions That Father Of Blond /blue Haired Baby Needs To Answer by Travelista(f): 8:56am On Aug 06, 2010 |
The DNA test wouldn't necessarily confirm/deny infidelity; what if the man and his wife agreed to using fertility treatment and there was a mix up with the genetic material? From the initial reports, the father said there wouldn't be a DNA test as he saw no need for it. The experts themselves can't demand a test; under most scenarios, the mother still needs to provide permission for the baby's DNA to be taken, so I'm wondering when the paternity issue will be ruled out. |
Romance / Re: Want My Girl Back by Travelista(f): 8:34am On Aug 06, 2010 |
Solaris, get on your knees and thank God; you've just avoided a future disaster. This girl is studying to be a lawyer and gets involved with a yahoo-yahoo boy aka thief? She can't be serious and is on the make; cut her loose. Wait a bit and you'll see how things turn out for the little golddigger (let's call a spade a spade); she'll enjoy the fast life for now but when it ends, she'll come crawling back. Steel your heart against such deplorable behavior. I cannot BELIEVE she admitted to her boyfriend that she cheated! There are some really heartless people out there. How could you even think about taking back someone that gave it up to another man, AFTER you've already decided to marry in the future? As an adult, you will do what you feel is best but be wise and weigh the options well. |
Romance / Re: I Feel Guilty Both Ways by Travelista(f): 8:07am On Aug 06, 2010 |
You got sprung off a 'wicked handjob'? I have to admit, I giggled at that particular line but that was probably the young girl in me. (I also laughed at 'heavy petting'; did you actually write that or was it the work of Seun's censors?) Anyway, you sound REALLY sexually frustrated and that's understandable considering your girlfriend is far away. What I don't understand is how you can't give yourself 'wicked handjobs' and do right by both of these women. You're playing with fire here and I hope you realize it; Miss Ghana likes you and has introduced you to her sister. If she gets hip to you having a FIANCEE (I don't know why you've avoided using the word) back home, I doubt you'll be able to handle what she'll put out there. Just because I'm ridiculously curious, have you thought of the possibility of your fiancee having a cut buddy back home? How would that information make you feel? Or do you think your girl would never do that to you? Don't feel that I'm attacking your even though you're being an absolute dog towards these two. From your posts here, you seem like a really sweet guy and I wish you the very best. *looks through thread & slips back into girlish mode* "Inked and David, sitting in a tree. . ." |
Travel / Re: Us Immigration Advice by Travelista(f): 7:48am On Aug 06, 2010 |
OP, I don't have personal experience with filing on the behalf of relatives but if your SIL needs a lawyer, she could try contacting Gordon Quan (they're the 2nd largest immigration law firm in the country and their lawyers are continually listed on annual 'Best Lawyer' lists). Chances are slim that she entered the country illegally; I'm guessing her visa expired? An immigration lawyer could speed up the process but speed doesn't always lead towards success; a methodical approach is her best bet. I understand that you guys are nervous considering the current immigration debates but she needs to keep complying with the government in the best way she knows how. Keep her address current, turn in her documents on time, pay her taxes (does she have a ITIN by any chance? If not, see if she can't apply for one) and just be a law-abiding citizen. If after all of this, your family wants to keep you in the dark, stay there. As long as you don't know what they're doing, if things hit the fan, you're less likely to sink alongside them. I know it sounds bad but the cloak & dagger business just seems off. |
Celebrities / Re: Ini Edo, Tonto Dike In Alleged Lesbianism Scandal by Travelista(f): 7:06am On Aug 06, 2010 |
Ahn, ahn! So, Mr. Ini Edo is worried about his wife being called a lele and is threatening murder? Since he's addressing rumors, how about he addresses his constant cheating? Or the rumors that he's into home health schemes? *blank stare* People can be too much! Mr. Ini Edo better hope that an anonymous call isn't put through to HPD with all of this reckless talk (if he did indeed say all that's been posted); all they need is a flimsy excuse to legally swoop in. |
Celebrities / Re: Mercy Johnson Returns After Skin Wash In Germany! by Travelista(f): 7:59pm On Aug 05, 2010 |
I'm sorry but Mercy still looks dirty to me. It has nothing to do with her being dark (talk about reaching!) but with the fact she has dull, haggard looking skin. I've yet to see an actress that is as allergic exfoliation as Mercy Johnson; in one movie, her nose was bumpier than a road because of all the dead skin cells. Hope the Germans stripped her down to the base layer because her skin is no joke! |
Romance / Re: Pls Judge Me! by Travelista(f): 3:07am On Aug 05, 2010 |
Rocafela8: No. YOU watch what you say, you acolyte of Satan. I didn't mention sex, you did. I'm talking about emotional healing. If she needs time away from you, then let her have it; if you truly love her, respect her needs and give her space, stalker. I'll label you whatever the hell I like, especially when you BRAG about being a cult member and then ask to be judged. Are you high or still suffering from that beat down to have forgotten what you've posted for all the world to read and comment upon? As a cultist, you're a glorified tout and it's shame your girl got caught up in all of that. |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Prop 8 Gay Marriage Ban Repealed, Overturned In California by Travelista(f): 11:31pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
And it will clear the Supreme Court. No matter your personal feelings on the issue, the ban was unconstitutional. Thomas Jefferson was on to something when he advised that we review the Constitution ever 20 or so years and update it accordingly. Had we done so, we wouldn't have to define something as basic as marriage. |
Romance / Re: Pls Judge Me! by Travelista(f): 11:23pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
Dude, you are beyond senseless and selfish. Your girlfriend was just brutally violated in front of her man and a group of rival cult members; don't you think she needs time to heal or are your needs more important than her welfare? I'm surprised you have mentioned a thing about her current condition other than you 'feel for her'. If you really love her, you'd leave her alone for the time being. Seriously, you made a pact with the devil and time will come when you have to pay the piper; why take an innocent down with you? |
Celebrities / Re: Ini Edo, Tonto Dike In Alleged Lesbianism Scandal by Travelista(f): 11:12pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
Not surprised at Tonto but Ini needs to focus on her husband chasing chicks out here and not getting drunk enough to sample Dike's (oh, the potential jokes!) wares. |
Celebrities / Re: Mercy Johnson Returns After Skin Wash In Germany! by Travelista(f): 11:10pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
Oh, I can't with you today! But, Mercy does look dirty most of time; hot damn! |
Celebrities / Re: Taio Cruz Is A Nigerian. by Travelista(f): 11:06pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
I cannot believe there are 5 pages of interest on Taio Cruz!!! Dude is beyond unattractive and corny but he's young; let him make his money while he still can because he's going to be a flash in the pan like those other guys that no one remembers. |
Romance / Re: Is This Child Abuse by Travelista(f): 10:58pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
You need your teeth kicked in. While she's being a decent young lady and going to church, you're lusting after her underage body and calling it 'love'. And you have the nerve to ask if you'd be committing child abuse if your were to try and hit. You already know the answer and if I were her mother and found out your intentions, you'd go missing. I can't stand a pedo. How socially inept/visually unappealing are you that you can't find a woman your own age? Ugh, your type is just vile. |
Travel / Re: Cost by Travelista(f): 10:44pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
amirize: Hi! You need to provide more information. Do you have a car/plan on getting one by the time you get to Houston? Will you rely primarily on public transportation (it's not as extensive as it is in NYC or Chicago by the way)? Are you in school? What's your price range? What type of area do you want to live in? The prices vary wildly: you could decide to rent a studio near Greenway Plaza or a 2 bedroom on Gessner & S. Braeswood for pretty much the same price; be advised, the areas are completely different and it helps to know what you need nearby (like grocery stores, parks, freeways, etc) and what you will not condone (like a dope boy neighbor). Let me know if you have more questions. |
Family / Re: Travelling After 28 Weeks Pregnant by Travelista(f): 10:31pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
Lady Dee: Consultant: I absolutely agree. Whoever is planning to take advantage of birth tourism, be wise about the location you chose. Very few countries practice jus soli and those that do, are closing the loopholes. As Consultant said, customs officers have been known to deny entry to heavily pregnant women (that aren't citizens or legal residents) and, as it's at the sole discretion of that particular customs agent, it's not worth the potential risk of being booked on the next return flight. That trauma alone would be hellish for both mom and baby; please think about what's best for you and, most of all, baby in situations like these. |
Romance / Re: Leave Me, I Am Not In The Mood ! by Travelista(f): 10:10pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
Sounds like you're trying to rationalize returning those 'sexy looks and appeals'. I don't know why you're talking to us about your marital problems when your spouse is the one you're meant to address. Could be that your SO is putting in work elsewhere and is dead beat by the time you get home. |

Health / Re: HIV Doesnt Cause AIDS, The Truth? by Travelista(f): 8:23pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
ayo84: It's not just HIV/AIDS that's profitable; ALL diseases are. I've noticed that we keep getting more and more 'band-aid' drugs and fewer and fewer actual cures (granted cures take time to develop). Pharmaceuticals is a big business and doing basic research on their relationship (in the US anyway) would blow your mind. They sometimes rush through the R& phases on some drugs (even going so far as to suppress their findings) and the FDA stands back and says nothing until a class action suit pops up. And it gets no better when you enter the doctor's office and they're trying their darndest push the latest drug on you and you look around the room and see that the pharm sales rep has been by with their bag of freebies. It's sickening. Diabetes is one of those ailments that a change in diet and exercise can mean drastic results: add brewer's yeast to your diet and drink a couple of cups of cinnamon tea (steep the actual sticks in hot water) daily and you'll notice your blood sugar will drop into healthier ranges. |
Politics / Re: Umu Igbo Unite Annual Convention - 2010 by Travelista(f): 7:06pm On Aug 04, 2010 |
Who's actually going to this? I'm in Houston right now but might not actually make it to the gathering. Out of curiosity: is no one going to the Igbo gathering in Chicago? |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Fox News And The Chicken Democrats by Travelista(f): 5:39am On Aug 04, 2010 |
davidylan: *deep breath* David, I'm really tired of you PUTTING WORDS IN MY DAMN MOUTH!! I didn't even think any of that (in the bold before you get confused), so what's causing your smug attitude? If you are confused about anything I write, feel free (actually just skip anything I post altogether in the future) to ask for clarification. I never painted any scenario about how long these illegals have been in custody; you did, so either stop trying to be slick or stop confusing yourself. There's a possibility that some of the deportees have been in custody since 2008 but those deportations wouldn't count under Bush but Obama (guaranteed they are sent off by 2012), so what are you even rambling about? THIS is what I wrote and I'll even break it down line by line for you if necessary: Travelista: I have 'expected' in quotes because these people have not left US custody and because the article used the same exact term; the numbers about Obama being tougher than Bush are tentative considering that the deportation process can vary from person to person depending on various factors. When those 400,000 extra people are on their home soil, then the Obama Administration can rest on their laurels and talk about their 'tough' stance on immigration. Until then, no dice. Once the illegal aliens are on their country's terra firma, then those statistics go from tentative to definite. Until then, they are just projections that can be lesser or greater than the figure posted. And grow up with the 'right wing'/'left wing' crap; you're too smart to fall in to such pitfalls. *sigh* You keep proving my assessment of you wrong and you seem to enjoy it. The Right v. The Left charade does nothing but ensure that nothing gets accomplished. I've said my piece on FOX News, so how on earth you'd equate my views with 'right wing claptrap' boggles my mind! Ugh. . .you are such a bundle of contradictions! |
Romance / Re: At The Verge Of Break Up by Travelista(f): 5:16am On Aug 04, 2010 |
Faher: To be fair, I'm not the type to do such a thing but I'm capable of doing so; most women are but you know that, don't you? What I don't understand is if you are looking to spend money for cooch, why not just go to a hooker? You save money in the long, still add a notch to your bedpost and don't have to worry about a girl crying that you used her for some play. |
Romance / Re: African American Woman Starting New Relationship With American Born Nigerian Man by Travelista(f): 5:06am On Aug 04, 2010 |
davidylan: I'm really tired of your undue aggression. I was concerned about her meeting a man off of CL and possibly rushing in to things; how you and everyone else thought it was an issue of 'Oh, here comes the big, scheming Nigerian!', I have no idea. Whether you were the toast of town or the runt of the litter in your little hamlet is not my concern; I stated my piece and gave her the advice she requested. Why the need for abuse? A lot of you are upset about the rep Nigerians have and that's understandable but stop wearing your hearts on your sleeve; PinkRiver should have been just as apprehensive if the man were White (or Apache, German, etc as I stated in a previous post). Speaking of being dense, you always twist words around. Where did I say you could use google to ascertain citizenship? I swear, what's wrong with you? This isn't the first time you've tried to put words in my mouth and you need to stop. You're smarter than this, so I'm confused as to why you insist on being such a douche. If you see 'Travelista' anywhere on a page, please skip over to the next posting. You've yet to be positive towards me, so why waste your energy on negativity? Ohsisi, how you go from this: 0hsisi: to this: 0hsisi: goodness knows. For a 'Christian', you're deceitfully hostile. What's really good? She's in love/lust, asked a question and I answered with advice. It isn't up to you or me to ascertain if the advice is useful or 'nonsense'; PinkRiver has to be the judge of that. Besides, there are parts of this saga that we don't know and we can't say for sure but from the fragments she's provided, I said she should tread with caution. Now, I'm being attacked? To be fair, the OP sounds like she's in a position to find love wherever it presents itself and to me, that's great but there are unscrupulous people that would love to take advantage of someone like that. It doesn't mean that she's about to be conned because the man's Naija; that would be a silly assumption but she should be careful and get to know the man with her head AND heart. As for me posting on CL, thanks but no thanks! I'm nervous about PinkRiver (a girl I don't know from a sack of beans) being hurt through the medium and you think I'd venture to use the site? Where do they do that at? You people kill me when you're in attack mode. Seriously, put down you dagger and chill out, Ma. I'm getting married to a *gasp* Nigerian in a few months, so I'm straight when it comes to finding a man that's worth more than his weight in gold. So, thanks for your half-hearted concern. @PinkRiver: Good luck. I hope you realize that we Nigerians (yes, I'm also Nigerian even though I don't go out of my way to sugarcoat turds for outside consumption) are just like everyone else meaning we have the good, the bad and the wretchedly ugly in our midst but so does every other nationality/ethnicity. I mentioned earlier that David may truly be genuine and looking to settle down but please be careful and take your time. Get to know him and his culture and share yours; many are right about good Nigerian men: they are NOTHING like anything you have experienced up until this point. Approach this like you would every other relationship with an open heart and a shrewd eye. I really wish you the best. *hug* |

CyberG: Are you a scammer that chases women on CL? If no, you need to calm down and use sense. There's nothing 'asinine' about wanting someone to be careful about meeting a man online, let alone on Craigslist of all places. I never mentioned you in the first place; a shot in the dark hit it's target and you came charging like a hit dog calling me names. Grow up and get a functioning pair! I don't need to worry about any slavemaster or their balls, so you can take me place and get to slurping. I can't believe how personally you took all of this! Talk about being overly sensitive. I'll eat my hat if you ever find a woman that will love and put up with your misogynistic behavior; I guess I fall into the majority that will get married, huh? Send me your address and I'll mail you an invite; you have 6 months to scrape together enough pennies to buy a ticket and witness our wonderful day. I'll even be sporting and spot your hotel bill (because your type can't cross my parent's threshold). Let me know. |
