Romance › Re: Kindly Tell Me The Advantage Of Marrying A Smart Woman by trilobite: 1:27am On Feb 17, 2019 |
Smart women have two main issues:
1. PRIDE: If you cannot keep up with her success she will dominate your life.
2. Skyenet: Ever seen the terminator movie, where there was an artificial intelligence called skyenet that decided it didn't need humans and proceeded to kill them all? With smart women 1+1 will always = 2. Human emotions or feeling will never matter. Her life will always be based on logic, every decision or action has to "make sense". This will lead to a lifeless marriage for the poor human married to her.
Solution: LOVE!!! LOVE!! No matter how smart or intelligent she is, once she decides to love and give you her heart, you will enjoy your life!! She will use all her brain gifts to make your life meaningful, because of how much you mean to her.
Teach her to love, that secondary school love, and you will be alright. |

Someone once said "You're attract the wrong people when you're attracted by the wrong things"
Many of these girls who attract these guys are attracted to meaningless things. It could be his looks, his car, house, job, etc. Just shallow things that don't last.
What should come first is his mind, how he thinks, treats his friend or family. These will tell if he's good or not. I've seen girls dump or not marry guys because he was too black, his apartment was too small, he can't speak perfect English.
Have faith, there's a good guy for you. Stay grounded and dig deep. |

Education › Re: Crazy Things You Did While Single On Campus. by trilobite: 1:33pm On Jan 11, 2019 |
EazyJ: Hi, I just flashed back to some memories while on campus as a single lady. I was single from 100 level to 500 level and started a relationship a few weeks before leaving campus. During my earlier years in school, I was less bothered about being in a relationship or not but as my final year was approaching, it then dawned on me that I would soon leave campus as a single lady.
That was when I fastened my belt and tried some funny ways. I started going for night classes to read and probably get noticed by guys as I haven't been going out the previous years. It was fun as guys started approaching but frustrating when they weren't what I was looking for.
At a point, I gave up and was like 'what will be will be'. Let's share some of the funny things we did while single on campus. Thanks. Single from 100 - 500 level!! That's very good. |

TripplJ: My oga in University of Ilorin started as a Technologist he is now an HOD. If u apply in a University as a non academic nothing is stopping u to apply for an academic position if u desire it ( that's if u further in your academics) That is not his full story. Nothing stopping you from becoming a full academic staff unless the politics. You can further all you want, but you will still compete with other experienced outsiders for the same vacancy. Why go through that stress and uncertainty? |

yanabasee: Alright sir..... I still prefer the non acad job... I've never liked a uniform job....
I've seen, during their last promotional exams for two stars officers that came from the state, looking wretched....
I've seen my mum's co worker who got a lecturing job from a nonacademic staff..,.
Every thing is possible.... There is absolutely nothing that I wouldn't get if I truly put my mind into it.......
And a one star officer earns better than a nonacademic staff senior staff...but its not about the pay most time... At wretched!! That's funny!! Yeah it's not always about the money. It's about a clear career path. Being stuck in one position for decades without any promotion can be suicidal. God guide your choice. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Federal Road Safety Commission 2018 Recruitment: How To Apply by trilobite: 8:15pm On Jan 06, 2019 |
yanabasee: My mum is and I've close uniform friends and I know the task ahead if I chose the uniform... A non academic staff as the plot unity to further his/her studies to any level even outside the country,...and can easily switch into lecturing!!!!
As a uniform personnel, you rarely enjoy your annual leave and there is no holidays or breaks and must always be ready for redeployment...... you MUST resume early if you are scheduled for road patrols and close late....
if not for the lack of jobs in the country and high corruption rate, many people will never chose a uniform job... A non academic staff becoming a lecturer in a federal university?!! Like i said, go and ask experienced non academic staffs, go and learn from their job experiences. I know an aged man who was told this same lie, and ended up teaching professors while being stuck in the same low rank for decades. I agree with your view on uniform jobs, but a bsc uniform officer beats a bsc non academic staff anytime!! Because of the former's clear career path. |

yanabasee: Same here..... was offered appointment at a university as a nonacademic staff and I received a mail to report at Enugu state....
But I will not think twice....I've made up my mind to continue with the university process as I love keeping beards and looking normal.,.... Non academic staff?!! Sorry to say, you will regret this decision. The FRSC job would have given you a higher grade ceiling, because your salary as a non academic staff will never reach that of an associate prof. Sit down and have a frank discussion with an experienced non academic staff before you decide abeg. |

Seeing what people went through because of this job almost brought a tear to my eyes. I am sure You all have made people who got the job value it more.
The guy who got the GA job should go for it. These days you can become a professor within ten years, and start earning 500k/month.
Them ignoring the senators was expected, i remember someone in an earlier page telling us how officers were complaining about the senators taking all the slots.

Deepocean: Were you saying that the probability of a 2.2 student with CGPA between 3.4 and 3.5 is zero in getting admission into IFP? because IFP is one of my choices, and I finished with 2.2 with CGPA between that grade range. If the hope is not worth "risking" can you please suggest schools that accept 2.2. Thanks. In addition to the information, I don't have any experience in oil and gas firm as a geoscientist. Flee from IFP!! School is already hard to get in if you have 2.1 self. Research well and apply for a lower school. |

Tobytboy123: Thanks alot Bro. Very encouraging. I am not clear about making 3 choices as stated on the scholarship guide. Is it 3 choices for each country? Or from any 3 institutions across all countries? Or one choice for each country? I guess this is the last piece of the puzzle for. I appreciate the help so far on this platform, as this is the only way I have been making PTDF related inquiries Any of the above. Though it's advisable you spread your choices. Select less competitive schools. |

Tobytboy123: Hello nairaland farmz, I have been having issues that I need to clearify pertaining this scheme before going too far. I studied Agricultural Engineering, and I hope it is not going to limit my chances due to the fact that most of the courses approved for by the scheme are Oil and gas related. I need people who are knowledgeable about this PTDF scholarship to run an Eligibility check on me considering following; - I obtained a First class (4.84/5.0) - I have been a beneficiary of 3 scholarships as an undergraduate and bagged a number of academic awards - I have functioned in an automobile firm (as an intern), as a Maintenance Engineer and as an Assistant Lecturer -my project work as an undergraduate dealt with the integration of renewable Energy and Agriculture (considering the fact that PTDF approved renewable energy related courses also).
I am not knowledgeable about this scheme. I just found out about it few days ago. I will like folks here to pardon me if I might have provided over information. I just need to get it straight.
QUESTION - I will like to know if I am Eligible at all. And if yes, am I limited to certain M.Sc programs on the scheme or I have the entire list to pick from.
I LOOK FORWARD TO KIND RESPONSES. You are!! I know someone who studied industrial design and is on this scholarship. Your statement of purpose should make sense though. Apply, but base your SOP on the Nigerian oil industry. Note that anyone in any field can work in the oil sector though roles may differ. |
