Donmoney11:You are the one begging for giveaway here. Yet, you are coming up with a funny story here about making 10k usd weekly. This UAE number that you posted, if you are reported now and they pick you up, you will be singing hallelujah chorus inside mosque Caveat Emptor
|
Lukuluku69:Can you answer the question or not? Tip: I know your response already. You would either ramble on again showing how poor your education and circle is or you would find a hasty exit out of the conundrum you have put your self. And in 3…2…1… |
Lukuluku69:Shocker: I am not a Christian. Bigger Shocker: I am not credulous. Now, format another stereotype as you twist your myopic fungus of a turd brain to formulate another insult at the person instead of addressing the main issue. The issue as raised by the OP remains my main concern and not distractions like you. Shift! |
Lukuluku69:Is this your best? I assumed you would have a modicum of sense in you to proffer a sensible response. You obviously bludgeon your way through discourses like a brute. You talk about my ancestors. What your micro brain didn’t fathom is that if we go far enough, we both share the same ancestors. I am sure our ancestors would really be displeased with the runt that fathered your lineage. |
Lukuluku69:Seems you become frigid when it comes to intellectual discourse? I would do an ELI5 for you. Jesus told his followers to do serious marketing of his teachings. There are passages in the Bible to affirm that. The passage quoted by the OP, in reference to Islam states that Islam would recede to between the two mosques, implicitly determining its planned reach geographically. This is what we expect you to either explain if you support more or dispute if you have alternative explanations. This is not a comparison of both religions as the context is different. Now what say you? |
Lukuluku69:Why did you not focus on what he said, provide superior arguments to counter his claims, if any or just keep quiet? This form of crèche intellectualism is tiring. |
I made a post about getting a Laptop with 50k before my account was banned here. Most developers here are telling me to still save it to 80k. This same advise I followed last year that made me to use money I have saved to do forex trading and lost the whole money. I have suffered in this life no doubt, and I have a also procrastinated enough to learn this web designing skill. I believe in what I can do when I am fully in tech by God's grace. If I tell you how I have been able to save this 50k you will cry for me. My house rent will soon expire I just need a laptop to start now and I am very sure of myself that I will get a job before the house rent expire cux the work I have been doing I use the whole money on transport most of the times, I don't even eat that much sometimes once a day sometimes just water sustains me. It hasn't been easy all the way. This is why advising strangers is really risky and potentially bad. You came online, said you want to buy a laptop with a budget of 50k. You never gave context of what you were going through and why you had a budget of 50k I advised that you raise your budget to 80k so you could get one of the most affordable and best long-term laptops you can need as a developer. Now you open another thread to sound emotional about what you are going through and why you think advice from people in general and me in particular is a bad idea. Sorry for suggesting that you get a better laptop. You see that LG laptop you shared, it is a good laptop too. Make the payment today and start coding. Once again, sorry for advising you. |
dave601:Set up a metered connection. This reduces background internet use a little. Second is to pause updates (i think for one week) after which you must update. Windows is always updating and heavily dependent on Windows Defender’s battle against attackers. Of all the big three (linux, macos, windows) windows is the only one that needs constant updating to even remotely work. I have a laptop that mainly speaks ubuntu but dual boots windows 11 for those days that i might need to speak in windows. I have not used the windows part since November. Imagine putting it on just this week, and it is screaming that it needs another update injection. So i gave it, monitored size and it was over 500mb in total, plus another 5 to 10 minutes of updating time. Imagine trying to have a presentation. You have worked on your slides, updated your system and shut down. You get to the meeting, power up your system and it tells you, “windows is updating, please do not shut down the computer “ |
Lukgaf:Reading from the example in this post, we can surmise that some permanent decisions (aka rulings) in islam were made based on the actions of prophet Mohammed. We should also note that those rulings were made, irrespective of whether they were actually right or wrong but based on someone or some people catching’ the prophet doing those things. Prior to that first ‘caught’, everyone who had dirt on them when praying had to do the prayer all over until someone saw dirt on the prophet and he told them that it was normal. It is akin to a junior in the office seeing the boss taking home office supplies and the boss saying, don’t worry everyone can now take them home. This is not the only instance. They are many stories of such instances in islam. Many practices are based off of the many ‘caughts’ of the honourable and pure prophet. Underage marriages, slavery, pure adultery, murder and many other vices known to the Mesopotamian of those periods became allowed under certain circumstances, depending on how or why the prophet did his own. Should this have been the norm? |
kutashi:We both know that you have not said anything. The post was written in very simple English with no unnecessary idioms. You must not eat snakes and you must not treat ailments with snakes. This was the summary of the post. Asking me to seek knowledge is insulting. Are you implying that i am too dumb to read a prose? Interpretation of religious text has been one way in which religion has kept the credulous in chains. It is a big industry in which some people profit from shifting goalposts. You teach religion, you would also teach language and understanding ? What other meaning do you want to hash out of not eating snakes nor using it for treatment? |
A nation with a high population of credulous individuals cannot grow. Only those who can take advantage of their believing mindsets can harvest them. |
Deicide:Why not ubuntu? |
Lol Another form of religious gaslighting at its peak. Now you are a bad person for wanting the balance of your own money back? Your own money? Why give the offering in the first instance? Comot your eye for church money, na pastor get am |
javaRookie:Says the !clown who makes posts like these:

sanmisamuel:There is a saying in Yoruba that if we prepare pounded yam on leaves and cook the accompanying stew in a groundnut shell, those who would be satisfied, would be. |
YoungCabal:Dear Goat, I started commenting on this subject by stating that i am not a game developer. I dont claim what i dont have, unlike you and your neon-themed Nairaland. Why would i attend a gamers’ seminar when i am not one? You have said it many times that you are out of this thread, yet you are still here sounding dumber than a donkey with each comment. If you comment on this thread again, then you are a vomit-eating despicable composition of rejected cells who should never be taken seriously. |
The hate is real. I dont know why but I suspect it is an inferiority complex. I try, if possible, not to let people know i am Nigerian whenever i am in Accra. If not, they would charge you differently for everything. And their hunger for ‘dalars’ no be here. |
Tunechi5:Use Railway. https://railway.app/ |
YoungCabal:Thanks for letting us know you cannot. Don’t assume others cannot too. Here is a link to last year’s Unity Developer Day held in AD. Next one is coming up soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2hnPNjIRyI This is my alt account so I won’t be revealing much more than necessary but the event was held not far from me and i know someone who attended and got his current role from the networking he made there. The simple fact that you cannot do it doesn’t mean others cannot. You are just being obtuse. |
sanmisamuel:The problem is not the battery but the energy efficiency of the laptop itself. Older laptops have power-consuming CPUs. You cannot buy a 10 naira watch and expect it to have an alarm. If you can pull out a 4 hour run from your old and cheap laptop, you have tried. If you want more juice, you gotta pay. HP mini laptop? What kind of programming do you do with that? |
sanmisamuel:Apologies if we offended you. Core i7 and core i5 price differences are minimal when compared to their values. Forget greedy resellers and look for the bulk importers. Lenovos are business machines and can be gotten relatively cheap if you know how to look. HP and Dell are more expensive because of demand, not quality. If your laptop cannot run VS Code, then you need a better laptop. This is 2023. Telling people who want to buy a laptop to buy a very low capacity device 'just to start' is unfair. He would be done with HTML in a few weeks. Then what? He starts looking for another Laptop? If you want to buy a laptop, buy one that will last you for at least a year or more. You cant be learning HTML for one year. |
JoyousFurnitire:I got 5 units at that price and i shared a screenshot of one on jiji. As with all commodities in a capitalist market, people can sell at whatever price they want but you have more of the x40 series of the ThinkPad hitting the used markets and there is a reason. The x40 series had a touchpad which many Lenovo ThinkPad enthusiasts do not like. It removed the clickable buttons and made it one solid block, trying to copy the Macbook Pros. They hated that design choice. This is why you have a lot in the used market. The machine itself is solid and once you get past the touchpad (which you can swap out if you like), you are good to go. The T480 , T580 and X270 are in high demand as they are seen as the 'last' upgradeable 'normal' factor ThinkPad so supply to the used market is low. The X280 lost its upgradability factor but comes with quad-core CPUs (as against dual core on the previous model) I own an X270 with an upgraded 1080p IPS panel, dual batteries, LTE card and dual boots Ubuntu and Windows 11 and it comes with me everywhere and is sweet in airplanes or back seats of taxis to get some quick work done. My MBP is usually docked. |
Friend22:Which one is garbage? the statements made by the OP or the inferences from his statements and examples? Are you trying to teach comprehension or you are exhibiting its lack? Maybe you should 're-read' the posts without bias and come back. Now, mention your own definition of snake anti-venom that does not involve the use of snakes. We are waiting. |
QuoteJustOnce:I know you just they whine me with the 'learn a lot opener'. One big issue is that MongoDB doesn't have transactional consistency like SQL does. It makes it hard to ensure that all financial transactions are correct and the data is consistent. Another issue is that MongoDB isn't great for complex queries and joins, which are commonly used in banking apps. It means that the development process would take more time and resources and the computational costs necessary to pull this is practically inefficient, relatively. It also doesn't have support for foreign key constraints, which makes it hard to ensure that the data is correct and consistent. This is super important for banking apps where data integrity is crucial. SQL has been proven in many financial applications and would be 50 years old next year. |
QuoteJustOnce:I understand where you're coming from. You're right that it's important to be careful with opinionated responses, as they can be misleading. My apologies if my previous response gave that impression. However, the thread was about personal opinions about MongoDB and not the academic definition of its concepts. In regards to the comparison made between React and Mongoose, I see your point. React is a library that can be used to build JavaScript projects, and Mongoose is a library that can be used to work with MongoDB. Both can be used to make the development process more efficient and streamlined, but they are not required. MongoDB and SQL are two different types of databases that serve different purposes. MongoDB is a NoSQL database that is great for storing and retrieving large amounts of unstructured data, while SQL is a relational database that is good for managing structured data. One major difference between the two is that MongoDB doesn't have a predefined schema, which means you don't have to structure your data in a specific way. SQL databases, on the other hand, have a predefined schema and require data to be structured in a certain way. People use Mongoose with MongoDB so as to define and enforce schemas at the application level, a feature which is not available at the database level with MongoDB. However, Mongoose isn't necessary for every project and may not be the best choice. If a project requires a lot of relational mapping among fields on different tables, an SQL database may be a better choice. Using MongoDB with Mongoose in this case could be overkill and would require extra effort to enforce relations at the application level. If you have a project that requires structured data at the database level, why would you want to use MongoDB and then Mongoose? This is what i meant in my previous post. From my little experience, a lot of people who do this are usually the MEAN and MERN stackers (Na beg i dey beg o, i no want any clapback) who don't have experience with distributed SQL instances. Would a well funded team with a smart CTO deploy NoSQL when what they need is SQL? |
namikaze:Give cockroach db a trial. Spool up a cluster and you would love it. It uses gcp or aws and gives you a choice. |
Sulele04:SSD. As long as the CPU is a core i5 or more plus at least a 4th gen or above. SSD helps a whole lot. Fast boot times, memory swaps, etc |
tensazangetsu20:Check jiji. I got 5 for a friend in November for his new business. In case you dont get a good one on jiji, you can DM and i would share a plug in Lagos. Only you though

I have saved 50k and I want to buy a laptop for programming. I am learning HTML/CSS currently from freeCodeCamp. Please with that amount what laptop can I get to learn front end? When I at least get a job/gig with the skills I have learnt I can upgrade later. Please your reply is needed. Thanks.Raise it to 80k Buy a Lenovo Thinkpad T540P core i7. Not E or L or ideapad or anything else…Thinkpad T540P Get it upgraded to SSD and at least 8gb RAM. Lenovo Thinkpad series come with pro versions of Windows but you can immediately install Ubuntu 22.04 LTS if you want. Also, ensure the screen is a 1080p screen. You can get everything within 80k. Core i7 8gb RAM 256gb SSD Thats one of the hidden gems of laptops available for cheap. The only negative is that it doesn’t come with backlight keyboard at that price but with 15k you can upgrade later. |
kutashi:The ‘message’ was written in English and i got it clearly. In the second to the last paragraph of the OP’s post, he said “Secondly: it is not permissible to treat sickness with snakes “ Anti venoms for snakes are derived from snakes. You cannot treat any sickness with snakes according to the ruling. The passage was very explicit when the matter of a man who used snake broth to cure some ailments were reviewed, it was ruled that it was not permissible on many counts, one of which was that snakes or its derivatives are not allowed. You can provide your own reference on how you came about a contradictory interpretation in this matter. No true Muslim who follows this interpretation to the latter should be treated with anti-venom if he suffers a snake bite. Regarding your concluding part, why should a religion for the mass have so much conflicting and contradictory posits that we need to have scholars interpret what the perfect books say. If a book is theoretically perfect, it should need no human interpretation before it is clearly understood. |

? If I am to save up to extra 30k is obviously going to take up to another 3months. My mental state is disturbed right now and I need to start and stop procrastinating I am currently learning JS with my phone and I also got a job offline. I promised the guy I will finish it this to tell you how talented I am in this with just little things I do with my phone but Laptop and suffering as been my limitations so far.
