There are a lot of guns better than AK47. Even Russia where the gunners designed stopped using it since 1978. mrvitalis: |

You miss the point. Bill Gates attended Lakeside Prep School a private primary school in Seattle with fees currently $32,000 so he had the background and pedigree to get him into Harvard and the knowledge and skills to found Microsoft from university before he dropped out. His parents invested in his education right from the start. Obviously as people have stated you should not be borrowing money to pay fees or sending kids just to feel among, but for those who value the education and foundation it gives the kids and can afford it I say go for it. Another example, Mark Zuckerberg attended private school and got interested in programming from elementary school which is our equivalent of primary school. he attended Philips Exeter academy in New Hampshire with tuition of $47,000 currently so please stop using the excuse of they dropped out of university. http://www.exeter.edu/admissions-and-financial-aid/tuition-financial-aid Uten9z: |
I think it is wise you stop the application, you can't get a job in Canada from Nigeria that easily. Even Canadians in Canada don't get jobs just that easily with just an application, no interview, no tests, nothing. Also for a reputable company like Nissan, they will actually support you through the visa process if indeed you have a proper job offer with them rather than leave you to sort it out and give you ultimatums. Bakrabas: |
Did you apply to Nissan in Canada for a job or just got an email from them? I'm sorry but reading that email it looks like a scam to me, and I did a quick Google search and this was confirmed. A reputable company like Nissan will not send you an email for someone already offered a job with dear applicant and also no specific HR contact who sent you the email. Also a reputable company will not give you such an ultimatum as they would understand the immigration process. Please be careful sending documents or money. Also can you confirm the email address you got the job confirmation from? I can bet it is not an official Nissan email address. also employment contract signed after probation is a red flag and no no no. You sign your employment contract even before applying for a visa and it will state you will be on probation. You do not wait till after probation to sign a contract. Bakrabas: |

I se a lot of people are following false media and panicking when he has clearly said he is targetting illegal immigrants who commit crime eg drugs murder etc and personally I don't see anything wrong with that. My opinion is trump can actually be good for international students because he is pro business and universities make a lot of money from International students. Also the current H1 work visa process is not working as companies from the likes of India China etc are abusing the system by bringing in cheaper outsourcing roles and trump has mentioned he will look into the visa process which is positive for international students. Many companies have compained they are unable to get visas for talented international students and trump as a pro business president will most likely do something about it. Let's stop panicking based on false narratives and seek out fact. Chocogold: |
do you have a link for where you read or heard him say he is targeting international students? I did a quick search and can't find any such statement. Chocogold: |
When did trump say he is sending back international students? He is after illegal immigrants who commit crimes simple. Chocogold: |
If you are referring to those born in the US after their parents illegally migrated there. Those babies are citizens and cannot be deported, but the issue is deporting the illegal immigrant parents will break up the family unless the US citizen children move with them until the children turn 18 and can file for their parents. If you mean babies who their parents took them to the US illegally, well unfortunately while it may sound harsh they are still illegal and by the law can be deported along with their parents who are also illegal immigrants. One thing to note though is Trump is targeting illegal immigrants who have been committing crimes in the US i.e. people who come illegally and then get into drugs, stealing, murder etc. He is not targeting law abiding people who migrated illegally for economic purposes. At least not yet. shinarambo1: |
Have you gone through their website for the application process? You can also email their admission office if you have specific questions. Bryt07: |
Good luck with the long wait. they will come back when Nigeria is able to provide an enabling environment for them to continue to thrive. Trump wants to deport illegal immigrants who are criminals not immigrants who contribute positively. davibid: |
While I don't like Trump let's get our facts right. He didn't say he wants to deport everyone, he wants to deport illegal immigrants and mostly those committing crime. The doctor is not an illegal immigrant or criminal is he? Sasuwa: |
While I agree they are ordinary humans like us, please give credit where due. They are a lot more advanced than us because they have their prioritises straight and have a better maintenance culture and attitude. You say they have a better environment. Really? Nigeria is blessed with far better environment than most western countries and the likes of Japan. We have great weather and don’t have to deal with winter. We don’t face many natural disasters like earthquakes in Japan, typhoons in America etc. yet they have been able to develop functioning cities while we haven’t. The truth is they actively and proactively pursue innovation and are constantly trying to make things better while we continue to do shady work and patch patch with a short term mentality. We are poor at maintenance e.g. if both Nigeria and Japan build the same infrastructure same time with same products and to same standards etc, come back in 10 years Nigeria’s version will be run down while the Japanese will not only still be in good condition but actually improved. Yes they are not gods and are human like us but please give credit where credit is due. cj4humanity: |

Please tell me you are joking trying to use those pics of US soldiers eating scorpions during to justify poor living conditions of Nigerian soldiers. You really think those scorpions are their rations? No it's not, those pics are from soldiers under special field training and not their normal rations. http://globalnews.ca/video/1152246/us-soldiers-eat-scorpions-drink-cobra-blood-in-field-training Or should we start by comparing US military barracks to Nigerian military barracks? I don't even get where you are going with those pics. patriotic9jaboy: |
if we are honest many many Nigerian men leave their wives and go with others, only difference is they don't officially divorce. I know a man who is on his 6th wife and never divorced any of the earlier ones and has kids with all of them. But you would count him statistically as not divorced isn't it? Cutehector: |
The number is realistic over 30 years. Dont forget the Nigerian airline industry has always had a troubled history even before the current forex crisis. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_defunct_airlines_of_Nigeria I remember the likes okada airlines, theirs was the first Boeing 747 I ever saw modath: |
Given GDP per capita is a derivative of GDP which is affected by exchange rates, how can you say GDP per capita is not affected by exchange rates? Nigeria's GDP per capita will fall due to the GDP falling based on the exchange rate against the dollar. I agree GDP per capita is the best measure to compare (not measure) economic output but I disagree when you say it isn't based on exchange rates as it also affected by rising and falling rates against the dollar in line with GDP. Shym3xx: |
Ok I get you and tbh most means of measuring economic output are flawed one way or another, but even the GDP per capita which is the best enasure of comparison is dependent on the exchange rate as it still uses the GDP which is calculated based on the prevailing exchange rate divided by number of people. Shym3xx: |
PPP is not an accurate reflection of GDP as it is based on the purchasing parity eg most goods will be more expensive in US compared to China due to higher standard of living. The best gauge is GDP per capita where the US has $53k to China under $7k. mindworx: |
I agree with you about the relationship between exchange rate and GDP and I said same to some guy when the news of SA taking over Nigeria again mainly on the fall of the Naira. Though I wouldn't go as far as say currency has no bearing on GDP as import and export of goods and services impact GDP growth and shrinkage which is indirectly impacted by exchange rates. While I agree Nigerians GDP per capita is quite low hence the poverty in the country, it's still higher Than Somalia. As at 2015 Nigeria had a GDP per capita of about $3000 while Somalia has $600. I'm not sure what the GDP per capita Is now given the fall in naira but I get your point and I appreciate your unbiased logical point as opposed to the many emotional and illogical points we see here. Shym3xx: |
I don't see any vindication here if you understand what has been reported. IMF was calculating based on Dec 2015 rates and GDP which was before the recession kicked in and excludes the fall of the naira against the dollar through 2016. veekid: |
Hey tayo2001ng, I'm replying your message here because it will be hidden in the other thread. As a USC your husband is required to file taxes every year even if he lives abroad so he being in Nigeria will not be accepted as an excuse. Note this does not mean he would be paying extra tax in the US as this is dependent on the different tax rates. What he has to do now is file his back taxes for the last 3 years or at least for last year and when it is processed request the transcript and send to NVC. Goodluck Hi vo, I trust you doing great... My husband who is USC filled for me and we are at Nvc stage. After sending the AOS form and other civil documents . NVC responded they needed to see his {2015} IRS transcript from the most recent tax year. ... {2015} IRS tax schedules.... {2015} [x] W-2 forms... That's an Issue now cos he moved back to Nigeria 2010 and as since been working with Lagos state govt and pay his taxes ... Please I need your advice on how to go about this situation. Looking forward to your respond.... Thank you |
Doubt it because it was a one off excercise and besides sales of tickets are still down due to the recession While this relives some of the pains facing the airlines it does not resolve it so they will be back here again in a few months unless the forex issue is resolved. AroOkigbo: |
You really have no proof of that do you? That they loved and respected each other. He went to the village to marry her which suggests they didn't really even know each other so it's hard to conclude they loved and respected each other. She probably was excited to marry someone from abroad and he probably was happy to get a wife after so long. I agree there are instances where women act up after improving but many times the man is the one who lacks the maturity and self confidence to deal with it. i can easily see how he could be jealous and resentful after the girl he brought from the village is now earning more than him and more exposed while he has been here for 30 years? Nobleking2000: |
You loving and respecting each other should have nothing to do with sponsoring self or not. As a couple there is nothing wrong helping each other to achieve the life you want for yourselves, but if you feel wary about sponsoring her then it shows you don't trust her. You may as well break the relationship and find someone else who is at the level you want and doesn't need sponsoring. What I will say is a couple who trust, love and respect each other, who work together for the good of the relationship and family can achieve a lot, and yes you may sponsor her today, but who says she will not be in the position to sponsor you in a different way in the future? Nobleking2000: |
Sounds like you are not confident in your relationship. If you truly love each other and have mutual respect for each other then you will be fine. What if she earns more than you in Nigeria? Nobleking2000: |
