RomanceRe: Father Abandons His White Daughter For Going Out With A Black Guy (pics) by ttmacoy: 11:45am On May 06, 2017
While I don't deny such happens sometimes though not all the time, this story is not exactly verifiable.

Look at the link, no name, no location nothing, and worse quick search shows this story only coming up on some random Nigerian blogs who obviously copy and paste as usual.

If this was true in this day of social justice warriors in America you can be sure it would go viral all over and be in more media outlets than just random Nigerian blogs.

Not saying there are no racists, thee are and will always be but this story doesn't smell right.

mezynaija:
The way some whites go about showing their racist tendency is quiet worrisome. The girl's dad, an American, says he won't attend her graduation or pay her fees anymore, all because she went out with a black guy. He told his daughter "go live with the Nigger".

SportsRe: Anthony Joshua Beats Wladimir Klitschko: WBA Heavyweight Fight by ttmacoy: 3:51pm On Apr 29, 2017
They mean the biggest fight to take place in Britain in history. The fight is taking place at Wembley London not Ukraine. Last record was Froch v Groves at same Wembley with 80,000 live spectators. This fight has sold 90,000.

Besides Klitchko is Ukrainian not Russian.

Selling 90,000 tickets to a fight is something to boast about.

Afam4eva:
I thought Klischko was Russian. Wetin concern Britain inside now. Why do you britons always boast when there's nothing to boast about.
SportsRe: Anthony Joshua Beats Wladimir Klitschko: WBA Heavyweight Fight by ttmacoy: 3:49pm On Apr 29, 2017
Yeah I feel the same as well, though on the other hand I'm not sure which Klitchko will turn up.

If it's the same that showed up against Fury then AJ should win easily, but if it's a hungrier klitchko then AJ will have a tough night.

Either way should be a good fight.

Ralphlauren:
I honestly do not see AJ winning this fight.

Klischko has the advantage of experience over him.

It's too early in his career to take on such an experienced and much older fighter. I think he's doing this fight solely for the paycheck.

For AJ, it's £16million in earnings just from one night.

My prediction : AJ is knocked out in the 10th round and Klischko retires from professional boxing after this.

the point she is making is where it is clear someone is living beyond their means she will say no e.g. I know last month you spent money on unnecessary party, or bought an expensive car then you come and ask me for school fees, I will say no because you obviously don't have your priorities straight.

If it's a different case e.g. maybe I know you fell on hard times but are usually responsible financial I will be more inclined to help rather than someone who spends irresponsibly then expects me to contribute to his child's schools fees every year.

The bolded is not entirely correct. The wait time varies by category from 7-8 months if your relative is an immediate relative and a citizen to about 13 years if your bother or sister files for you (based on the current bulletin).

Your category will be determined by the relationship with the relative, and the relatives status i.e. citizen or green card holder.

Bossman:
What the poster was saying is that - if you haave a "Blood related" family member in the US on Green card or a Citizen, they can file your green card for you, but the waiting period is 7 years before you can actually get the green card.

AZeD1:
I said you don't need to protect yourself from someone with a gun.
You cannot eradicate crime so its best to limit it, now in London your best option is a knife and the question is can you enter a club and kill 30 people with a knife? No but with a semi - automatic, once you start shooting, even people with guns will duck before they remember they have a gun.
PoliticsRe: Antonia Okafor Taking America's Political Scene By Storm by ttmacoy: 1:52pm On Mar 31, 2017
This is not advocating for guns to be allowed on campus or not, but saying no guns means you don't need to protect yourself isn't correct e.g. look at London where guns are not easily available yet knife killings persist. Also those criminals who really want one are still able to get guns though underground means.

While not at the level of the US, there has been an increase in gun shootings as well in London.

AZeD1:
The problem of gun death cannot be solved by bringing out more guns.
If nobody is allowed to carry a gun, you wouldn't need one to protect yourself.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Loses As US Oil Attracts More Buyers by ttmacoy: 11:28am On Mar 30, 2017
Has nothing to do with Trump.

America already invested in being oil dependent and they achieved this during Obama's era via Shale oil. Production dropped when the oil price crashed after the price war with OPEC and now prices are rising again many of the drilling wells who suspended production have started ramping back up.

Simply a market driven response to higher oil prices.

I'm not a big fan of Trump but I think saying he is racist is a stretch. Yes he said controversial things during the campaign and can be a silly irrational guy but I do not believe he is racist but as you say history will judge. I believe he used controversial statements to stir people up and get attention and it worked.

Yes Obama got a lot of criticism especially from republicans but Trump gets a lot more from both parties and the press through I agree mostly due to his statements.

My point is the left wing media with the current need to cry victim and hound people who they don't agree with out (you can see the trend where someone says something they don't like they will hound and hound till the person is fired from their job) has obviously backfired with Trump because even republicans didn't like him yet he won the party ticket and he can't be fired and he had money to finance himself. If the press hounded another candidate the way they hounded Trump with all he said the candidate would have dropped out long ago.

This is not an endorsement of Trump but I find abhorrent the left wing behaviour and as I mentioned in the earlier post they actually put him in office by blowing up every single statement he made giving him free airtime.

imagine a situation where Trump made his usual controversial statements and was ignored as an old senile fool, I can tell you he would not have won but the left wing press went on and on and on. look at the likes of the daily show now every single episode is trump said, trump did, trump didn't.

Having said all that I did not support Hilary either.
Lucasbalo:
Criticizing trump doesn't equate hate because criticism comes with the job. He hasn't got half of what Obama got in critism. Tell me the kind of names people didn't call Obama ?. The bottom line is that trump is his own worst enemy. I still maintain that trump is a racist and history will judge him as such .
TravelRe: Trump’s Travel Policy: Nigerians With Valid Visas Denied Entry Into USA by ttmacoy: 3:52pm On Mar 22, 2017
Thanks bro, I am not saying Trump doesn't have an impact but we also have to apply logic rather than just conclude everything is Trump despite proof staring you in the face the summit may be suspect.

The bolded is totally true, and it is the same left wing media who trying to portray him as Hitler actually helped his election. The guy did not even spend much on adverts because the media blew everything up giving him free airtime. They are now in a position where even if he does the greatest job ever they are forced to criticise.

ApexTitan:
Sorry that question was directed at davidif. Up until now the impression he had been giving was that people were not denied or detained at the POE by border officials in the past, that this all started because of Trump. Right now he has changed his position saying the rate of denials has increased. We will wait for him to provide specifics on how this rate has supposedly increased.

Trump is a controversial figure and that's without a doubt. What has been playing out in the leftist bent mainstream media is a sad comedy where every one of his actions is presented by them as actions of victimisation or abuse. Much of their outcry is unwarranted, baseless or purely sensational like this "Trump is targeting Nigerians" narrative. Like any country, the US reserves the right to place conditions on people who wish to enter through its borders. The US has had forms of travel bans in the past even under Obama. https://www.dhs.gov/news/2016/01/21/united-states-begins-implementation-changes-visa-waiver-program Nobody said anything then.

By proof I mean hotel reservations, not compulsory but any reservations you have made for things to do in NY, a plan or itinerary of what you plan to do in NY.

It's your call and hey NY is nice but I disagree with her friend, Chicago is. A lot calmer and beautiful than NY. NY is more hussle bussle but still an experience so enjoy it.

Depending on your budget some things you can try to see a show on Broadway that is if you enjoy musicals and plays. Have fun

Just be able to confidently say what you guys plan to do for the month etc and you should be fine.

TravelRe: African Business Summit In US has No African Delegates. Their Visas Were Denied by ttmacoy: 5:50pm On Mar 21, 2017
There is no point beating the horse on this. Young or not the website for the summit is poor and suspect and I will not logically pay money based on what I saw on the site. Imagine the conversation with the VO, so what topic or speaker are you looking forward to hearing at the summit. errr I don't know the speakers yet. What companies etc. are you hoping to meet, errr it wasn't on the website. You see how silly that will sound?

Yes I agree the summit can either be held in the US or Africa, but saying companies will not send people to Africa is wrong. If a company sees the opportunities she claims on the summit website trust me they will send people. I have already posted links to previous similar summits held in Africa e.g. Addis Ababa and there was clearly photos of prior events with lots and lots of people so that puts your theory companies will not come to Africa to bed.

Again I ask where are photos of prior events and delegates and speakers? Or is the event too young to take photos in this day and age where smartphones all have cameras?

Can you honestly tell me if I sent you this link and told you hey this is an amazing summit go register $500, you will look at that site and pay for it? Can you honestly look at that link and tell me you will pay for it?

http://www.agedsummit.com/

I can assure you I have enough corporate experience to know companies and investors will fly to Nigeria if there are opportunities that warrant it and I have sent you an example of the Addis Ababa event which was full of people so I don't get why you keep claiming people will not come to Africa. I have worked for investment banks and currently a consulting firm and so I do not lack corporate experience.

Look at the objective of the summit, it is to introduce American companies to the lots of opportunities in Africa so if she has run this event 3 to 4 times why is there no information on past events, past successes etc? Instead you have copy and paste text from the UN climate change publication, and copy and paste from Forbes on iRoko. I'm sorry but I will NOT pay for such an event, and if I was a visa officer I would have lots of questions and the fact every single attendee was refused across multi African embassies suggest the summit must have been blacklisted.

Why is there only one sponsor of the event, literally this Mary Flower who heads both the consulting firm and the black alumni association, why only those 2 parties linked by 1 person. Those are the type of logical questions I would expect asked before paying money and I would expect VOs will also look at all this and if I was a visa officer the fact I can't even pay for such event means I will not issue the visa.

davidif:
Dude, this is a fairly young summit. It's not as established yet so I doubt if they have acquired the sophistication or have the clout for that yet.

Secondly, your assertion that "if she truly wants to help American companies recognise investment opportunities in Africa why not take them to Africa which will be a lot cheaper and easier?" shows that you have not worked in the corporate world over here because if you have you would know that no one is going to send there employees on an all expenses paid trip to a far flunged country for some summit somewhere on planet earth. That's a waste of my time and resources especially if I am a small or mid sized company that can barely afford it. If you want me to come and invest in your country come and convince me first and introduce yourself to me.

Sorry but your Apple doesn't fall argument means nothing. If as you claim the apple doesn't fall far then send me proof of where Trump said he is targetting Nigerians?

Love him or hate him, he has been very specific and clear on what he will do. Right or wrong he has been clear and specific so to jump to the conclusion any Nigerian refused now is Trump is baseless. Nigerians and others have always and will always be refused if there is reason to.

As I keep saying go to the other US visa forums, aren't there students and visitors going in from Nigeria or are they all turned back?

jameseva:
He already answered this question with the 'an apple does not fall far from the tree' post but you keep repeating same argument. Everyone around the world are very much aware of trump's position on immigration. Saying this is unrelated to his policies is absolute nonsense

This has nothing to do with Trump. Conference or no conference, the reputations of Africans is nothing to be proud of when it comes to American visas, not everything can be blamed on the white men!
TravelRe: African Business Summit In US has No African Delegates. Their Visas Were Denied by ttmacoy: 5:12pm On Mar 20, 2017
Off at is the case plesse find and send me photos, videos, reviews etc of past summits.

Show me proof of delegates meeting government and businesses leaders as is claimed. Have you looked at the summit site at all?

No information on topics, speakers etc nothing at all. Summits will include information on past events to show its a successful summit that has runs. Few times, they will include photos of past speakers and delegates, they will talk about the outcome of past summits eg xx business secured funding from yy, nothing at all.

I can easily rent a hall and claim I am doing summit that brings delegates to business and government leaders with no proof. Because the event was organised on USC Canpus means nothing as it was NOT a USC event but an event by the USC black alumni association. And the organiser is one woman who heads the association and the consulting firm organising it.

adimsmt:
I'll support that if it was Africans that are organizing it.

You claim to be open minded and yet you jump to the conclusion it's because if Trump's policy despite you having no proof.

If you were open minded you would step back and also try to look at it from the VO view.

If I sent you that summit link as it is and told you hey looks like an interesting summit you should attend are you telling me you will pay for it despite the fact no clear information on past events and speakers or outcomes, no clear information on past business deals,l from past events, no information on speakers, topics etc you will just go and pay?

austinvsb1:
Bro, I'm sure you know of the adage "An apple doesn't fall far from the tree"... A simple google search will reveal several cases of documented inexplicable visa revoke, outlandish refusal stories as well as outrageous border deportations since donald trump assumed office. To pretend all of this is unconnected to a new America immigration stance and the president's populist rhetoric is simply living in denial.

A summit (ofcourse not one of those million dollar summits.. where would a black woman get that kind of money? duhh) that was slated to hold in USC to me holds some sort of credence and repute. I try to be as open minded as I can, and I understand the angle from which you view this but I strongly disagree that somehow a 100% visa denial as opposed to what was obtained before for the African delegates is totally unconnected with trump's new America. I strongly disagree!
TravelRe: African Business Summit In US has No African Delegates. Their Visas Were Denied by ttmacoy: 4:04pm On Mar 20, 2017
You say Trump's rhetoric, please show me the video or quote where he said Nigerians will be targeted or stopped. Right or wrong he has been very clear about his intentions and there has been no surprises so this automatic assumption any Nigerian refused now is not because there is a reason but because of Trump is baseless. As I have said over and over go to the US student visa and visit visa forums on nairaland here, many Nigerians have been getting visa and entering the states wit no problem so stop spreading false panic. As a Nigerian if you have a valid reason to be in the US and are confident in yourself you will enter easily. I've been in the US twice this year and while I did not use a Nigerian passport I saw different people from Africa going in with no problem so I don't get this unfounded panic.

the issue now is with Trum's rhetoric anything that happens now will be automatic Trump even if he has nothing to do with it.

You say because it was organised on USC campus means it hold merit. I say no, I can book a hall on USC campus that doesn't mean USC reputation means my event is proper. If you hire a hall at Unilag does that mean Unilag is organising an event?

I ask again and again show proof of the past events and delegates and attendees and speakers, you can produce and keep saying where will she get money. She claims to be linking business with opportunities yet she can't show any proof any such past speakers or events. Please explain to me how you can book and pay for a summit where you have no information on the speakers, the program nothing. Is that how you pay for events?

I attend summits both economic and business e.g. I recently attended a CPD event for my chartered accountancy membership and guess what on the invite there was an agenda with clear speakers, bio and program/topics.

You see all this and yet you insist it must be Trump. With the attitude the only way you will accept Trump isn't after Nigerians is if no Nigerian is every turned back anymore. Yeah right.

Thanks buddy. All I have asked for is proof instead of jumping on the easy culprit of it is trump.

I have shown you proof the so called summit doesn't look as reputable as is claimed but yet you say while that may be true you would rather believe it is trump.

Doesn't that suggesg you are convinced it must be trump despite any evidence to the contrary? As you say even if the Vo says it's not trump it is because past attendees ran away or they were not convinced the summit was what it claims you will say it's a lie it is trump. You see the irony?

austinvsb1:
I highly doubt you will be convinced by anything other than a recorded video from the visa officers stating that we are refusing all your visas cause we don't want you africans entering our trump country no more! Because I ask for proof and facts before jumping on your narrative means I have my head in the sand. If that is what it means then I would rather have my head in the same until I have facts and make my own mind than jump on the popularity narrative with no proof nothing.

Hahajajaha talk about sticking your head in the sand. So you are telling me that Obama deported more people than Trump in his first 58 days? Get outta here boi. Goodness gracious! You Trump surrogates would do anything to defend your overlord.
TravelRe: African Business Summit In US has No African Delegates. Their Visas Were Denied by ttmacoy:
Really?

If the summit has been run a number of times in the past and is as successful as you suggest I assure you companies would fly down to Nigeria to meet the people if there is business opportunity.

I work as a consultant and fly all over the place and if a company sees investment opportunities they want to pursue they will fly down, and flying down actually means you see things on the ground and can meet more people.

I sent you a link of the US Africa summit held in Addis Ababa didn't I? From the photos it's clear that was. More successful that the so called USC summit which looks so poorly organised, where we can't see any proof of the past successful events.

I'm sorry but I need proof instead of just jumping on the populist narrative. Send me proof that the event was successful, show me a list of past delegates and sponsors etc, show me something rather than just blame trump.

by your logic of who wants to fly to Addis Ababa it is not Paris, then why the hell are they attending an African summit for potential investment in Africa if it is nor Paris? Does that even make sense? It's flying down for business opportunities not holiday and if they will not come to Africa because it is not Paris then the summit is worthless isn't it?

Besides I sent you a link which shows the many people who attended the so called not Paris summit in Addis Ababa while the supposed better summit in America cannot show any proof of past delegates or events or speakers. yea right.

davidif:
Hahahaha what a naive statement! You must have never worked in the corporate world before have you? Cos of you have you would know that corporations don't like to waste there money until they know its a sure thing. You don't spend money on a trip to Africa unless you are at an advanced stage of talks. Show me how many companies will be willing to let there staff just fly to some far flung corner of the globe on an all expenses paid trip without first knowing about the place?
This is a 'get to know you' kind of summit. A networking kind of thing like a career fair where a company comes to campus to sell themselves to students and to possibly conduct interviews on site. If they like You they can then fly you out to there facility for another round of interviews type stuff.

If this where done in Africa maybe one or two big companies might be willing to send one or two employees there on a meet and greet but I can tell you that majority of the smaller to midsize companies won't. Besides who wants to fly to Addis Ababa? This is not Paris we are talking about?
TravelRe: Trump’s Travel Policy: Nigerians With Valid Visas Denied Entry Into USA by ttmacoy: 1:35pm On Mar 20, 2017
Show me the number that prove the rate is higher? I haven't seen any numbers that proves this except people are highlighting it more now due to the Trump rhetoric.

Obama in fact deported a higher number of people than previous administrations but there was no noise because he didn't have the rhetoric Trump brought with him. As things stand even if Trump deports 1 person a year there will be backlash saying he is targeting people simply for the negative rhetoric with which he campaigned. Show me numbers from a reputable source showing there are higher numbers of Nigerians being turned back.

davidif:
There were detentions and denials but not at this rate. What is happening now is a spillover effect of Trump's initial travel ban. Just like You have had a rise in hate crimes since Trump has been elected into office the same thing is going on with immigration. Its one of the multiplier effects of policies passed at the top. Thats why leadership matters a lot especially executive leadership because the higher you are the bigger the impact you have whether intended or unintended.
