klawaaa: I would say what is realistic... tell people how the way look like and don't sweetcoat it. Japa na survival... more than 50% International students don't have funding. How many foreign students fit pay the tuition with 20 hours of $10 on campus jobs? Hence, most international students resolved to work their ass out. This way na hustling things and nothing is sure. If you can't afford the tuition, there are several options: 1. Choose a cheaper school 2. Look for a scholarship, fellowship or loan 3. Apply elsewhere - Canada, Germany, Ireland, South Africa... The idea that "hustling" or "japa" justifies you breaking the law is partly the reason Nigeria is what it is today. Do not jeopardize your chances to stay in the US permanently. If you're caught, all your efforts are basically wasted. |

I don't how to go about the visa applications. Yours is a tricky situation. With a fully-funded Ph.D. offer, you have an excellent chance of getting an F1 visa, but obviously, you cannot apply for one 5 months away from your start date. You could consider obtaining a medical visiting visa to have your baby in the US. You will clearly be back to Nigeria to apply for an F1 visa so that is your non-immigrant intent established. Worth considering if you have the opportunity to apply. |

Even for job purposes, where you graduate doesn't matter much if you can get that interview invite and impress the interviewer That isn't true at all. What they term as hate speech is Preaching the Raw Gospel and telling people to Deceit from Wickedness Abominations and Evil.
Youtube has become a den of the devil that strikes and sensors Raw Preachings of the Gospel anyhow. Pray tell, which video service did the early apostles use in the book of acts? Yet their simple message was far more effective and produced real converts for Christ... compared to today's toothless "Christians". |

BabyI24: So how do I go about my answers about why I chose the school? Because the answer I gave are my sincere reason why I choose the school. Kindly reply thanks Well you do need to rethink your answers... you cannot have chosen that school because of Java programming... you can get that anywhere. Also every IT college department requires practical training as part of the curriculum. None of these answers are unique to this school so the VO is likely to be wondering why you didn't apply to more established regular colleges. Did you apply to other schools? How many? Did any of them offer you admission? Are you picking this school because it was the cheapest of your options? |

The degree will add more value to my profile. VO: what’s your study plan? While on the practical training, 4 other course will be done via distance learning VO: who is sponsoring you? Another thing I intend to do when I return, is to register a non profit organization that will be focused on mentoring and training young girls and women in Nigeria that will love to becomes software developer because here in Nigeria, female software developer are very rear.
Please kindly help me review and correct me where necessary. Thanks
See what I crossed out. But first things first... your number one problem is likely to be your school of choice. The rest of your answers are way too elaborate... short and straight to the point should be your aim. |

Victoriaog: Guys please help me look into this transcript, Please i need your honest review I apologize ahead of time... but this transcript is hilarious. Victoriaog: VO: why did you choose this university? Me: Several things stood out for me in UALR. Firstly I discovered UALR is actually very high in terms of teaching quality. Additionally the course content of this program at UALR features a unique privilege of either choosing a research option or a professional option under which the research option would be emphasizing on ethis diversity requirement and law and policy requirements and also the professional option which I am most existed about emphasizes on pubic relations and journalism and I would be taking courses like seminar in journalism, public relation cases, news media writing and producing, news media and publishing. Also the school has a student university newspaper (The forum) as well as television and radio station whoose mission is to provide a window for the community to learn and enjoy myriad activities that takes place on the campus and most importantly provides practical learning opportunities for media students to gain experience in broadcast media production and management as this will equip me to become a more effective and trained journalist when I return to Nigeria because this is my root and where I want to make impact. So for me, it was about the right skills and competencies to advance my career when I return to my county That this is rehearsed and unoriginal is so blatantly obvious. 1. UALR may score highly in teaching quality, but higher than MIT, UCLA, UPENN, PENN State, Yale, Stamford, NYU, Columbia? 2. There is nothing "unique" about UALR allowing you to choose a thesis or non-thesis masters option. That is standard across most grad schools. 3. Nothing special about the TV and radio station owned by UALR. This is commonplace in other schools. PBS/NPR stations (which are cable news channels) are typically run by universities. The Houston version is run by the University of Houston. Victoriaog: VO: Why this course/ what will it do for you? Me: I am taking this course from a problem solving perspective, in my experience working at a media form. I spotted a problem in the media sector of Nigeria i.e news reporting in Nigeria does not show patriotism in the coverage of events in the rural areas. The bias of the reporters is in Favour of urban dwellers who are adjudged to be learned, enlightened and understand the meaning and importance of news. I intend to use this skills and knowledge gained from this course to build a solution around this. Additionally a masters of Art in mass communication will give me a competitive edge upon my return to Nigeria when working in the evolving world of media and communication. 1. The US has serious problems with its own media. How will a masters degree in the US help you fix reporting bias in Nigerian news media? 2. A masters of art in Mass Comm from UALR will not give you a competitive edge in Nigeria... you and I know that. Victoriaog: VO: why USA and not Nigeria Me: what is best about acquiring advance studies in the US is that the qualification i earn is globally recognized and on top of that the education system in the US has been known of its academic excellence. Additionally the Nigeria school curriculum focuses more on the theoretical aspect of learning and does not offer hands on the practical opportunities that gives detailed knowledge on my preferred course. Your program is communication, not a STEM program. It is unclear how hands on reporting in the US will make you any more effective than reporters here in Nigeria. Bottomline... you are not ready for the interview. Your responses are far too long (you have 3 minutes or less) and clearly insincere. Any respectable VO will read through you in a few seconds. You need to revise your responses - I suggest just sticking to the truth would be a good start. |

34But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. |

If your Eyes of Understanding are open to Current events playing out on the world stage, You will see clearly that the Corona Virus Pandemic or Planndemic is the Red Carpet or launch Pad to a New world Order ( NWO). Just Yesterday a Global Treaty was called for by the World leaders. https://www.nairaland.com/6486285/world-leaders-call-global-pandemic
The actors for the Great Reset are Working hard behind the Scene, Unfortunately those they are Preparing for do not know, are sleeping or engaging in Foolish and Carnal arguments
Yes! It is a Pandemic, because the Virus itself is Real, but the AGENDA behind it is Much more Bigger. It is Paving a way for a Global government, a New World Order, a One World Currency and Conditioning the People to Submit to government and authourian rule, paving the way for the rise of the Antichrist and a NWO Immediately after the RAPTURE of the Saints.
All that is Happening now is Conditioning the earth Inhabitants towards the coming Mark of the Beast System that will come into Play after the RAPTURE.
It is unfortunate that majority of the World Inhabitants are falling into their plan.
2020 was the Great Setup 2021 is the Great Reset.
You can argue with your phones and keypads. But note, it will come to Pass, and when it happens, you will wish to turn back the clock but it will be late. People like you make it very difficult to take Christians seriously. The above is shameful claptrap. |

Kettlecorn: 1) too many people are applying for US visas (no embassy can handle the sheer volume of Nigerians seeking US visas);
I touched on this briefly before. The statistics show that this statement is inaccurate. China and India process much higher volumes of applicants than Nigeria yet they don't experience the issues we see in Nigeria. In a good year, they issue approximately 100 thousand Non immigrant visas in Nigeria, 800 thousand in India and 1.2 million plus in China. Refusal rates are somewhat similar in Nigeria and India. Data from February 2021 shows they issued approximately 1,400 NIVs in Nigeria and almost 30 thousand in India. Well explained. Thanks. |

Kettlecorn: The wahala I am referring to is all the issues relating to getting an interview date, dates going out 2 years at the present, payment expiring before your date arrives, lack of clear information, tech issues etc. These are process issues that our authorities need to lean on the embassy to resolve. Go to India and see how things are run smoothly there. They process 10 times the number of applications that are done in Nigeria without all the silly issues we experience. Information is readily available and accessible by phone calls and email as opposed to guesswork and word of mouth here in Nigeria. The Indian gobernment does not play, neither should ours. Fair point. Unfortunately our government is as good as useless. |

Kettlecorn: Oga, no waste your vexation on the banks or embassy. The banks really have no fault in this. Direct your anger at the useless Ministry of External affairs which should be fighting for Nigerian's rights at the embassies. Are they not aware of all the wahala that Nigerians go through at these embassies? Is it not their job to summon the foreign ambassadors and complain about these issues and demand that they treat us better? The Nigerian government has no regard for its citizens so why should foreigners have any regard for us except for the fact that they preach fairness and justice? We can only appeal to them to practice what they preach when our government cannot and does not fight for us. Nigerian's do not have a right to obtain a US visa... which likely explains why the Ministry of External Affairs cannot weigh in. You have a right to apply for a visa, you have a right to be heard, but the VO/embassy is not obligated to grant you a visa. The "wahala" you go through at the embassy is squarely the fault of Nigerians - 1) too many people are applying for US visas (no embassy can handle the sheer volume of Nigerians seeking US visas); 2) too many Nigerians have abused their visas, these have serious consequences on subsequent visa applicants, regardless of how genuine they may present. The real problem isn't the embassy, it is us. |
