Business › Will I Forfeit The Account Balance? by U1(op): 10:55am On Jan 29, 2008
Please I'd like someone to clarify something for me. I heard somebody today saying that the money used in opening a bank account cannot be collected back when closing such accounts.

The reason for my worry is the fact that I was thinking of opening a domiciliary account for receiving international bank wire, and I heard that the amount for opening is about a $100. I'm more or less a student, there may come a time when I may be in need of the money, which may prompt me to want to close the account, so my question now is, will I be required to forfeit the $100 used in opening the account? **I bet that would freak me out**

Family › Re: How Necessary Is Marriage? by U1(m): 11:37am On Jan 23, 2008
sorry i donot agree
Marriage is a good thing, an important thing yes
BUt Essential , Compulsory , NO
I don't think so
Like i said before, happiness is Essential, Happiness is compulsory,
If you find it within marriage, GOOD
If you find it without, GOOD
When you are a happy person you love yourself and fins it easier to love others and the world.
So rather than be stuck in a marriage which makes u unhappy, better be single and happy.
There is nothing as bad as a disgruntled Wife or Husband to come across!!
Emad, body no be firewood, you don't mean to tell me that you can live your life without having sex. And you know that sex out of marriage is fornication, pure and simple!

Christianity Etc › Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by U1(m): 10:40am On Jan 18, 2008
I am really surprised with the kind of reasons put forward by over 90 percent of the respondents so far. Some say White wedding is a foreign thing. Accepted. But is white wedding necessarily a church wedding? Or is church wedding necessarily a white wedding? There is something we must realise here, in the church wedding you can use colours other than white also.

Also, about the issue of traditional or no traditional wedding, the only thing I will just like to chip in here is that, traditional wedding is for the traditionalist, and church wedding is for those who follow Christ Jesus (though that does not stop them from doing traditional wedding too, but that is not all). If someone claims to be a Christian, he or she must do what Christians are supposed to do. No one is telling anybody to leave their traditions behind, you can incorporate the good ones into your religion. Afterall, at least some time back, human sacrifices was carried out in the open before the missionaries came to put an end to it. Now, that was a tradition, why is no one clamouring for it to be continued just because it was a tradition.

Some argued that does it mean that all our forefathers were fornicators just because they did not wed in the church. Well, the answer I will give to that is NO. You do things according to your troth (the doctrine you hold to). During their time they don't know anything about Christianity, so why will they be held for something they are ignorant of. Even today, same applies, if you are a Christian, you do things the Christian way, If you are a Moslem, the way Islam instructed you to, and so on. All I know is that everybody will be judged according to the troth they hold to.

You don't tell me just because you couldn't find a church wedding mentioned in the Bible, that one should not do it. If I may ask too, where was it mentioned in the Bible that you must go to Church on Sunday (at least Sabbath is Saturday), still, you go to church. We only use the Bible when we intend to please ourselves, shame on you.

Church wedding is not when you call the whole of Lagos to come and eat. The only requirement (and my idea) of a Church Wedding are: a priest, the couple, their parents and a couple of witnesses, and you are okay. But some people will want the whole of Lagos to know they are doing something, thereby running to debt. You can only try your best, I have tried mine here, and I'm pretty sure some people would not be convinced, but then, I can only do so much.

Thanks for the reply,I guess I can use it at the same time to collect money from abroad. But, may I know how it is done and like how much it's going to cost, from your experience.

Also, about the checks, must someone have an account with a bank before you can cash it there.

What has happened is a shame on this world. I was at the cyber cafe, browsing, when I heard on the 4pm Radio Nigeria News roundup that the beautiful woman had been assasinated, I was shaken greatly. What a waste, why do good people have to die so. It's at times like this that I really appreciate my country because, at least for now, we don't have such extremity as suicide bombing.
May Benazir Bhutto and all the departed rest in peace. Amen. Life is transient, so let's submit to the will of the Almighty.
Sad to hear her 19-year-old son on the BBC saying that after his education in England, he is going to continue from where his mother stopped. How sad!

Eku odun Keresi ( you can add the "mesi" to it), is the way to say it in Yoruba. Christmas is also synonymous with lot to eat and drink, that is, if you have people to give you that.

Sorry o. Perhaps, those people thought you were not having enough fufu at home, talk about fufu deficiency. I feel ur pain bro.
The only time I bought a fairly used phone at the Villa, I regretted ever doing so. But the case was not as bad as this
,"Fufu ke", abeg e no fit happen to me. The only problem in my case was that the mouthpiece was bad, which I had to repair. Later on, I started having low battery problem.
The thing wey no fit happen be say, make somebody tell me to hide what I've just bought, that would sound ridiculous to me. Omo, I go put my sim and test am before I go even think of paying and the thing go dey for my sight like this, no exchange will be accepted. Also, from my experience, I won't even mind making a call first, if the shop owner will not allow me do this, I'd move on, If they even want to jazz me, e no go fit work, because God dey my side.
We learn everyday, that's another one.
