frozen70: If you actually stood by her and along the line got this insult, sorry about it
I will suggest you calm down
When they are tired of talking, they will leave her in her own world
I suggest you give her a space for the time being let them do the rest
Don't call her but send sms to ask after her and the baby
She may return the sms with insults or may not reply
Don't get bordered about it
Any time you resume and have money, go to bank and pay into her account, keep your tellers as its going to be the only prove you have
Some women are ungrateful and the worst is they can't struggle so it's applicable to men
At this junction, look deep into the relationship if you can stand marriage or not
Don't be forced to go into marriage
Take your time, you are not the first and won't be the last
Even if the family calls you to start marriage preparations tell them politely that you can't live with her because she us unappreciative
That alone will keep everyone on their senses
Just be sending like 5000 every two weeks, instead of sending 10,000 every month
Some people must have sense by force Um, are you sure you are a lady? This comes across like a piece of advice from a man! |

GboyegaD: This sense of entitlement is annoying. Whoever isn't grateful with N1000 should return it to the giver so that it can be channeled to someone who N1000 is worth something. I was a bit disappointed when I read the 1,000 part. Tells you some of those begging are either not that needy or they feel entitled. This is the more reason why I find it hard to help anonymous persons online, unless they come across as reasonable and truly in need. Many people cook up stories online. I prefer people I can assess at close quarters, even though I have no interest in broadcasting anything done. I just don't want anyone to see me as a mugu. PS: I'm not saying I plan to give something away o. Just saying. |

Ifyjos: It’s not wrong, I rather sell my phone and buy food than to come here and embarrass myself begging . The least thing I can do on social media is to beg from strangers That's for you. Everyone is not the same. It depends on what value you attach to your phone. If you saw it as one just for social media or reading news, there's no problem in selling it for food! But the case is something different if you saw it as being more than that. I probably even go further than you when it comes to not begging. For example, I will find it hard to even beg from a sibling if the need ever arose. It's not pride; I just don't relish depending on people. Yet, my phone is something I'd hardly consider selling as an alternative to begging. By the way, I am not in support of people who use every opportunity to beg. |

sammchuck1: My new sales letter
Enquiry: Sammchuck1.com
Greetings! Would your company be interested in owning sammchuck1.com?
I have been getting replies like : "No, thanks though! " , "Maybe" , "I will show this to my boss" , "Yes", " Possibly, how much?" , " Yes i would be interested depending on price. Can we first start with what you're asking for it?"
However if by next week , no sales then its useless IMHO, I think this format is a good one! It's likely to scale through more spam filters. The fact that you are getting responses is probably a pointer to that. Perhaps, the particular domain name wasn't that exciting to these individuals. |

That name can be easily for 5k
Don't bother about the wait period... If it doesn't sell now hold it,... Hold if for as long as you can bear... 10yrs min
But before 10yrs self e don sell and sell again self..
Congrats you got a classy name This is the kind of marathon I was talking about. If you find a name of good value, hold am tight! Keep it in your arsenal. Those of you who make sales at least once every 2-3 months should actually find it easier to do IMHO. I submitted 10 names to SH recently and they rejected all! Maybe some were actually crap, but I think some are really worthwhile and were probably rejected because of the prices I quoted. One thing I know is that I'm not going to let any of the names expire after one year, God willing, regardless of what SH thinks. |

AMZYMAYO: And what's your definition of good bro? What you think are bad names are some names people will sell for thousands of dollars. You're very correct! I thought along this line when I saw references, either directly or indirectly, to some names as trash. If you can objectively see value in a name (say, by comparing to other sales and evaluating end-user base) before buying, chances are that there are some people out there who might see the same. I have seen some names reported sold here, and for good prices too, that I wouldn't buy - maybe because they were for smaller cities, too long, or not for an "interesting" service. For example, the "Birmingham" name someone sold recently would fall in the "too long" category for me; but hey, it got sold! |

I have been thinking recently that the "marathon" way might just be the best to go for some people that are getting discouraging results with GEOs. Not sure, just thinking. The key is just to build a portfolio of TRULY valuable names. It means not dropping such if they fail to sell within one or two years. With God's favour, you can get way more return than most legit entities and investment houses can give on your capital in an average year doing this. |

You can register on Dynadot & put up your name for sale there. Dynadot has a marketplace.
where did you get the idea that to sell a name, it has to travel between registrars.
You haven't read from Page 1. if it is too tiring for you to read. go to Namepros, there is a beginner's forum there. go through thread title by title & pick the one that interest you. You will learn alot. I think there's a caveat to selling on Dynadot: you may not be able to withdraw earnings less than $500. You may have to use it for purchases on the platform. I found that out on Namepros a few weeks ago. Darksider131, Namesilo is another registrar with a decent marketplace aside GoDaddy and Epik. |

What more civility do you want beyond being contacted privately over this? I'm not completely ignorant about how tech works. You don't mean to tell me that you go to each person's account to extract phone numbers for bulk SMS. If we're talking about emails here, that's an entirely different story. To send bulk SMS, you most likely than not require a database of phone numbers. I want to believe that database is searchable. Even if it isn't, I want to believe you could at least use the phone numbers provided to trace the account on your platform (since you now focus on that) through search functionality and delete it. Or why did you request that I send the phone numbers in the first place? |

bizme: I like this person Ifyjos. By my nature I'm not going to go out of my way to attack anyone, yes, but then I like the way she thinks. And it is a shame that people are attacking her for speaking up against one of the greatest ills of our country, and that is the liberty and the ease with which people beg.
It is highly worrisome indeed.
Instead of we Nigerians to collectively demand a better quality of life for ourselves we do one or more of the following counterproductive things:
1) Feel entitled to the perceived ('audio') wealth of others and then beg and beg: Everyone in Nigeria is suffering and struggling, just at different levels. Even professors and medical doctors who haven't been paid for sometime now, how do they manage? No one suffers and hustles in his/her own level just to hand it over to anyone else. Note I haven't called anyone lazy. We all end up bearing our own burdens and those inherited from our parents. 2) Donate their meager resources to unprofitable institutions like religious bodies: It is an irony that these religious leaders who have been collecting your money in times of no lockdown are still busy of inventing various electronic ways of continuing the collections, instead of being at the forefront of providing relief for you. If anyone wants to beg, you should do it at your pastor's, imam's, babalawo's or dibia's place. Let people rest. 3) Defend mediocre, self-serving and thieving successive governments on account of ethnicity: instead of all of us to see governance as a collective responsibility we choose to play the ostrich, bury our heads in the sand and they can steal our collective wealth and waste all the opportunities belonging to us and our children unborn... As long as the seat of political affluence one day rotates to our side, then we want the practice of corruption and ineptitude to continue so that some day it will get to our turn to hit it big. Now that you feel you should beg, it is those politicians you should approach cap-in-hands, and not other Nigerians who are also struggling to take their families through this trying period. 4) Marry when you are not financially able to do so.: I will borrow an admonition from the Bible that says any man (woman too, to make the feminist happy) who cannot provide for his own household is worse than an infidel. It literally translates to saying, it is even better if you are not born-again or a Christian than for you to have a wife and/or children and not be able to cater for their needs. Many of us can count several men who make less than 20K per month who still go ahead to get married and give birth, not to one, but to four, five, six and seven children and more. Some of them still go out to impregnate girls outside. And then the products of such recklessness and irresponsibility will go everywhere begging people and attacking anyone that fails to subscribe to this doctrine and career of begging that many Nigerians have come to love. The society did not force you to attract responsibilities you weren't ready for. Nobody cares if you're getting old, 40 or 50... If you really must bring children to this world, then make sure you have enough for yourself, your partner and the exactly number of children you can care for. Everyone in Nigeria literally is struggling to make ends meet no matter how much you think they have. It is only greed (ojukokoro) that will make you expect others to meet your needs. And no, OBJ, GEJ, GMB are not to blame for all the stupid decisions that led us individually to the bad economic state most of us are in now. Instead, we are to blame that they got to the offices where they further entrench our poverty.
The correct response to this for individuals to suffer with some dignity and start thinking deeply how to improve on their lives once this is over. There is necessity upon us all now, will we allow it to force out an invention on us, or we will simply shamelessly keep throwing our bank accounts in people's faces expecting others to ignore their own needs and cater to ours. This should have been the time to demand better social services from our government, if only the spirit of begging isn't so deeply entrenched.
I know that no matter how much English few of us speak here on this matter, many will still refuse to listen. They will still continue to ignore the opportunity to elect credible leaders; they will keep selling their votes for N1,000. Many will still continue to carry the money they ought to use for investment/savings to religious houses. Many will still continue marrying, impregnating and getting pregnant with babies they will never be able to cater for. In the end, the shame is still yours even if you have lost the capability of feeling ashamed.
Ifyjos, I do not know you but you have spoken my mind on this issue. But I have a favor to ask you: please stop being dragged into the gutters by people who see nothing wrong in begging. Kindly ignore them; not replying them will never take anything from you. Simply speak your mind and let anyone that likes continue breaking their heads over it. In the end, when no one is around, perhaps some of these e-beggars will have a sober reflection where they will stake stock of their lives. It may have been too late for them to make a significant change, but perhaps they shall be able to pass a better wisdom to their children.
As for the Op, I do not know you, and this isn't an attack on the veracity or seriousness of the needs of your household. I understand if you feel the need to attack me over my post; that's not going to be a problem at all. But no matter how bad things are right now for you financially (an experience which most Nigerians also share at this very time), begging people-strangers- is never a good behavior. I pray we all come out of this situation alive, but much more, I pray that this situation will allow us to start thinking for the future whether we are job hunting, spending-versus-saving, impregnating-or-being-impregnated, ... and so on. I know society is much more complex than my post has portrayed, nevertheless individuals are largely to blame for the kind of leadership in their country, allowed both by docility, corruption, as well as i-don't-carea attitude. Such a long epistle. I gave up before getting to the end, even though I often write epistles myself. While I agree with most or some of the things you touched upon, I just felt like expressing a contrary opinion to the bold. From what I have seen in my sojourn so far on this earth, I can say there's no complete security on this earth. Even the Bible talks about "time and chance." People who thought they were ready might later have it rough - it has happened to some. The only thing I will always tell people is that they should control how they sire children. This is a major problem in this country. Some people give birth to children like they are going out of fashion. They forget children are responsibilities and would need to answer for them on the last day. |
