Business › Re: How Banks And Bankers Are Getting Richer Through Foolish Dead Husbands by U1(m): 5:27pm On Jul 22, 2019
obembet:
I was privilege to chat with a female bank manager, she made a scary revelation to me. She told me how Nigerian bank vaults are filled with monies of dead men who kept their bank accounts secret from their wives.

She explained it was against bank ethics or policies for an account officer to inform the relatives of a deceased customer of his account (without his permission). And since the man is dead, without giving his permission, the bank dubiously keeps silent about the money. She told me it is rampant among many businessmen.

She revealed many instances of dead men whose families are still suffering, while they have millions stashed in their secret accounts.

She mentioned one that happened few months back. The man died and the wife was crying all over the place, looking for money to bury him. Whereas the man had nothing less than 60 million naira in his accounts. The banker said it got to a stage that she could no longer bear it, her conscience was pummelling her. She had to go against her bank rules, and got in contact with the widow and revealed to the woman how much her husband had in his accounts and how to claim them.

She also told of another story of one man who escaped death, but his right hand got paralysed. He couldn't sign his chequebook with his left hand and he was in a desperate situation that needed him to sign papers and cheques. That was how he learnt his lesson the hard way. As soon as he got better, he immediately made his wife co-signatory to all his accounts and involved her in all his businesses. What if he had died? That was how his family would have suffered in the midst of plenty.

This stupid behaviour is not reserved for wealthy men alone, even paupers who earn little have their own complex issues.

I just read on the wall of one of our groups where a man complained of how his friend refused to release his ATM pin number to his wife even though there was an emergency at home, and his ATM was at home.

Many orphans and widows suffering today are put in that condition by their stupid dead father.

Women and Retirees are not left out. Someone told me how a relative of hers died and none of her relatives knew that her properties were scattered all over the world. Not even one house. Not even a dime in any of her accounts... If you knew billions unclaimed in banks belong to selfish dead people, you would weep.

Banks and Bankers grow fat on these oafs.

Please do the needful now that you still have the breath to do so. Of course tomorrow is pregnant and only God knows what it will deliver.

A word is enough for the wise

Yes, I have thought about this same matter several times over the years. But I think I only shared the 'concern' with one or two people - the most recent being about 2-3 weeks ago.

Well, that's just the sad reality of life. It's a prisoner's dilemma! I always felt it that these banks can never be trusted.

It's worth considering making someone aware of your accounts, especially a trusted sibling or parent. But make your wife or children the next of kin on the accounts. Just what I think, though; not a perfect solution.

But, OP, I wonder why you decided to single out men. Are you one of those so-called feminists? Do you mean there aren't dead wives with undisclosed accounts containing huge amounts? huh There's a bias in there.

bvn serves as a bank identity card in nigeria, if you have 5 accounts in in 5 different banks, ones the ban you in one of those banks. its will affect the remaining. npower uses to make sure you don't get paid multiple times in various accounts.
Thanks for the feedback.

I guess anyone who has access to the BVN have access to your account statement then. Is that correct? I assume that's the only way N-Power can know if you have been paid previously.
Business › What Information Does BVN Provide? by U1(op): 8:58pm On Jul 21, 2019
Hello! I have been wondering about this for some time and I'd appreciate if someone who knows can share.

Whenever institutions and bodies, such as banks, lenders and N-Power, request for BVN, I feel curious what they do with it. Does this number allow them to know balance on all your linked accounts or does it also provide access to your full account statements?

The official website that should have this information didn't.

I don't even know what REAL benefits the number gives a customer. The attached is a screenshot of a portion of the BVN page on the NIBSS website noting the 'benefits.' I struggled to understand some of these benefits when I first saw them years ago - I still don't understand them. huh

Anyone who knows what information the BVN shows should please share. Thanks!

For those of you saying 300k is too little for business, think again. You'd be amazed at the wonders some Igbo guys would do with that sum, or even less.

But the only question is: does he have the business acumen and ruggedness of those guys? I am not yet certain everyone has those qualities.

greatnaija01:
Ok sir,

In my little opinion, you could have gone into AGRO INVESTMENTS that pay 30-80% within a space of 4-6 months.

There are many of them that are legit on INSTAGRAM

FARMCROWDY
AGRECOURSE
AGROPARK
FARMSPONSOR
FARMAGRIC

Last year when you graduated, someone told you to go into MINI-IMPORTATION with the 200k you made from school..... I guess you didnt learn it well or go into it properly. The key to IMPORTATION is importing what will always be in vogue like phone accessories or shoes or other rare items that actually solve problems.

Anyway another thing is STAY AWAY FROM GIRLFRIENDS this period. You need to be on your feet before you can CARRY any WOMAN.
Sire, could you share how you find the agro companies on Instagram? I currently don't use that platform.

I need advice before investing with this company. Petroleum products marketing professionals, Nigeria.
I got there information on radio and I had a WhatsApp chat with the number they dropped...here is a copy of the chat...

On our investment platform, we pay 5% interest on a monthly basis
The minimum investment capital is #50,000
The interest is paid directly into the investor's supplied account
The investment period is 6 months, while ONLY the capital shall be refunded in the 7th month.
The investor can decide to roll over if he so desire.
There shall be a legally binding MOU between the 2 parties.

PPMP Energy

And here is there address, have been there but I still need to do a background check before moving ahead.

Oil and Gas Training and Investment Office

PPMP Energy
Suite A, 82 NAF Shopping Complex, MMA 2 Road, beside Airforce Base Ikeja.
Perhaps, you may assume that they are genuine since there's no contrary opinion. The only way you probably can be surer is to risk a little sum. My two cents.
Web Market › Re: Make $5k Per Month In 2019 On Upwork From Scratch Challenge by U1(m): 1:53pm On May 11, 2019
Jeanwandimi:
First of all, you can not withdraw any amount less than $100 on upwork. You have to accumulate funds till $100 or above. You can know how much you have by going to "Reports then overview". Your "AVAILABLE" is your money. You have to have $100 in your "AVAILABLE" to receive your money. But you need to complete the following first.
Now to the procedure in details.
For this to work, you need to have put a NIGERIAN address as your address.
Go to "SETTINGS" in your profile, then "GET PAID", then go all the way down to "PAYMENT METHODS" and add method.
The first option you would see there is the one recommended for Nigeria. It will be stated as
"DIRECT TO LOCAL BANK (NGN)
$0.99USD PER WITHDRAWAL
" which will be deposited to your local bank account in NGN
Then click on "SET UP"
The next thing you would see is "ADD PAYMENT METHOD: DIRECT TO LOCAL BANK" and your bank information will be required.
You will be required to put in your "BANK SWIFT CODE"
Gtbank's SWIFT CODE IS "GTBINGLA"
This is how GTB arrived at such code.
First 4 characters of the swift code is the bank's code which is "GTBI" for gtbank.
Next 2 letters represent the country's code which is NG for Nigeria.
The last 2 characters is the bank's headquarters' location code which is LA for lagos. GTB headquarters is in lagos. So combining it, you have GTBINGLA.
Other bank users can follow the procedure to do theirs.
Then after you have input your swift code, upwork automatically detects the code and displays the address of GTB's headquarters which is 635 AKIN ADESOLA STREET, VICTORIA ISLAND LAGOS, NIGERIA.
Then below that you will input your account number and all your details.
THATS ALL.
PLS VERIFY THAT YOUR INFO IS CORRECT, IF NOT, YOU WONT BE PAID.
It is that easy. The great thing about this method is that you receive your money within minutes of your money reaching $100 or above depending on the withdrawal amount you set. Some set their money to be automatically sent at $100, some set it at $200, some set it at $500 etc. Mine is set to be withdrawn at $100 top up. Why would I wait for $200 or more cheesy
Another cool thing about this method is that you are charged $0.99USD per withdrawal. This is extremely cheap trust me.
There are other options such as PayPal, Payoneer etc, but those options are the previous ways to get money go Nigeria and it is usually way more than $0.99USD for the transaction. I am grateful to upwork for adding this new method. Don't pay anybody to receive money from upwork. It is now easy to get money directly to your account. smiley
If you have further questions after that, let me know or send me a mail.
Just to comment on this service. I feel it's probably the best option for withdrawal to Nigeria.

I have been aware of it since the year it was introduced, but I decided to stick to Payoneer. It was possible at a time to sell funds to people for higher rates using the latter service - not anymore.

Recently, I started thinking more about the Local Bank Transfer payout method. This is partly because Payoneer restricts places you can use the card, even though they claimed it works everywhere MasterCard is accepted. I ended up paying higher amounts in places where I could have simply used the card.

That's leaving aside the different fees.

So I decided to try the Local Bank Transfer option to see if it'd be worthwhile. I requested a withdrawal this morning, expecting it to take up to 4-5 days to be processed. I was more interested in knowing exchange rate for comparison.

I received alert within just about an hour! It was very surprising. This is the way to go, people - at least, for now.

By now the answer is out. Strange that folks get involved in shady investments that promise incredible returns on investments. Greed got them led by the nose! The fraudulent kingpin identified a laid back city whose inhabitants would appear to be unexposed and current and not street wise. He sold them tales about supermarkets where with some investments one can shop for free! Now the bubble is burst and the kingpin is getting pulled at from every direction for money gone down the drain!
It is!

I didn't really know much about the tales. Only learned about a poultry farm investment paying 22%, instead of 18%, in 3-4 months from a post someone made here. The poster mentioned the higher returns was due to a promo.

I invested because I didn't think that return was too high. Actually, I had other opportunities promising as high as 45% a month, but I was afraid. The rest is now history.

Strange thing is that some of those opportunities promising higher returns are still around.

Telegram app breeds the worse set of Scammers, especially Telegram channels.
You will see a channel that has about 1000 members, but telegram designed channels in such a way that you as a member of a channel, can't interact with each other to at least know if the channel is genuine or not. You will just be at the mercy of the Channel creator.

NB: This is for the fixed games Scammers
You got that right, brova. As much as I love that app, it's not recommended when paying for tips. You have to be cautious, very.

I observed recently that, if I were to report a scam channel to unsuspecting people, the creators can easily get away by making some changes.
