You seem to be a troublemaker! We keep ignoring, you keep bringing this question up...LOL

If Jesus lived for 33yrs + 6months, then his 34th birthday would have been on (33yrs+6months) + another 6months.

He died in the month of Nissan (which corresponds to March/April in today's calendar)

His 34th birthday would therefore have been on March/April + 6months = September/October.

For the 25th December to be true as the birthday of Christ, then, one of the following MUST be false:

1. Jesus lived for just 33yrs + 6months on earth.

2. He died in the month of Nissan

3. The date he died in the month of Nissan often falls on March/April in our today's calendar.

CONCLUSION: If none of the above is false, then it's obvious the 25th December speculated to be the birthday of Jesus Christ, is FALSE.
pls where does d bible say Jesus lived exactly 33yrs and 6 months?

How is it fact that he was born on the 25th? The 25th symbolizes the shortest day of the year and after Christmas, the Sun stays up a bit longer into the Spring Equinox. There's too much Pagan stuff surrounding Saturnalia/Christmas for one to call it a Christian holiday.

Op why are there no record(s) of the disciples of jesus celebrating jesus birthday on 25 of december recorded in the entire Bible, even after his death? Was Jesus such a dummy to even mention or celebrate his birthday throughout his 33 and half years on earth? Or did he forget?
dis is an arguement from silience.
Jesus told dem to remember his death, are u aware dat only john wrote down d day and he even forgot to write d year? D rest 3 gospel as silient.
Does dat mean we should not celebrate easter and good friday becos d apostles didnt write down d ful date?

There is alway sheep moving from bethlehem to jerusalem even in winter, because d temple has a high demand for sheep.
Reply to Objection 3: Recall
that Palestine is not England,
Russia, or Alaska. Bethlehem is
situated at the latitude of 31.7.
Dallas, Texas has the latitude
of 32.8, and it’s still rather
comfortable outside in
December. As the great
Cornelius a Lapide remarks
during his lifetime, one could
still see shepherds and sheep
in the fields of Italy during late
December, and Italy is at
higher latitude than
Bethlehem.

This is not true, all ancient sources record dat saturnalia ended latest on d 23. I dont usually quote wikipedia bt it says as much.
aim5:
Saturnalia concluded on the 25th, it was also the day that they worshipped the sun god Sol Invictus.
Saturnalia was an ancient
Roman festival in honor of the
deity Saturn, held on the 17th
of December of the Julian
calendar and later expanded
with festivities through to the
23rd of December.
Christianity Etc › Re: Yes, Christ Was Really Born On December 25 by Ubenedictus(op): 9:52pm On Dec 26, 2014
Dis objection has already been ansad
Crocz:
I swear by God, and the gods of yorubaland...both the new and the old, Jesus was not born on Dec 25th!

Dec 25th was a Pagan day for worshipping the Sun god...the Roman Catholic fix that day so has to stop pagans who converted worshipping other thing on that day!
Reply to Objection 2: Let us
examine first the cult of the
Unconquered Sun. The
Emperor Aurelian introduced
the cult of the Sol Invictus or
Unconquered Sun to Rome in
A.D. 274. Aurelian found
political traction with this cult,
because his own name
Aurelian derives from the
Latin word aurora denoting
“sunrise.”
Coins reveal that Emperor
Aurelian called himself the
Pontifex Solis or Pontiff of the
Sun. Thus, Aurelian simply
accommodated a generic
solar cult and identified his
name with it at the end of the
third century.
Most importantly, there is no
historical record for a
celebration Natalis Sol Invictus
on December 25 prior to A.D.
354. Within an illuminated
manuscript for the year A.D.
354, there is an entry
for December 25 reading “N
INVICTI CM Bleep.” Here N
means “nativity.” INVICTI
means “of the Unconquered.”
CM signifies “circenses
missus” or “games
ordered.” The Roman numeral
Bleep
equals thirty. Thus, the
inscription
means that thirty games were
order for the nativity of the
Unconquered for December
25th. Note that the word
“sun” is not present.
Moreover, the very same
codex also lists “natus
Christus in
Betleem Iudeae” for the day of
December 25. The phrase is
translated as “birth of Christ in
Bethlehem of Judea.”
The date of December 25th
only became the “Birthday of
the Unconquered Sun” under
the Emperor Julian the
Apostate.
Julian the Apostate had been a
Christian but who had
apostatized and returned to
Roman paganism. History
reveals that it was the hateful
former Christian Emperor that
erected a pagan holiday on
December 25. Think about
that for a moment. What was
he trying to replace?
These historical facts reveal
that the Unconquered Sun
was not likely a popular deity
in the Roman Empire. The
Roman people did not need to
be weaned off of a so-called
ancient holiday. Moreover, the
tradition of a
December 25th celebration
does not find a place on the
Roman calendar until after the
Christianization of Rome. The
“Birthday of the Unconquered
Sun” holiday was scarcely
traditional and hardly popular.
Saturnalia (mentioned above)
was much more popular,
traditional, and fun. It seems,
rather, that Julian the Apostate
had attempted to
introduce a pagan holiday in
order to replace the Christian
one!

I already ansad dis objection
aim5:
Jesus wasn't born on Christmas. Christmas has more to do with Saturnalia or Saturn. And Saturnalia/Saturn=Capricorn.
Reply to Objection 1:
Saturnalia
commemorated the winter
solstice. Yet the winter solstice
falls on December 22.
It is true that Saturnalia
celebrations began as early as
December 17 and extended till
December 23. Still, the dates
don’t match up.

Saturnalia is betwen 17 to 23 of december. Nobody celebrate saturnalia on d 25th

Jesus Was Born In The Summer

Sadly, most modern day Christians think that Jesus was born on December 25, a date established by Pope Clement VII (1478-1534 A.D.), a Roman Emperor. He became Pope in November of 1523-1534. With that, it became believable that Jesus was born on December 25, a winter month. But the mere fact that the shepherds were outdoors in the fields tending their flocks, which they only did in the summer months, Jesus son of Mary was in fact, based on the scriptures of Luke 2:8 born in the summer. In Jerusalem during the month of December, it is very cold, and there is no way this child could be born in the cold.

During the high point of the summer solstice between June 23 through the highest point being June 26, when the sheep would be brazing in the field, is when Jesus son of Mary was born.
this is false information, if u claim xmas was set in the 15th century then what will u do to the testimony of christians of the 4th, 5th centuries downward and those of the second century dat i referenced? Throw dem out of the window to defend the 15 century thesis lie?

I already discussed d winter issue, isreal is no london dat has a severe winter. According to d rabbi sherpherd and sheep still make d jorney through bethlehem to jerusalem even in d winter (jerusalem's temple has a continous demand for sheep)

frosbel:
I want to correct some charges that have been brought against me by many religious people on this forum, suggesting that I am an atheist for debunking their myths and contradictions.

I am not an Atheist.

Of course there is God but I am sincerely beginning to doubt that he is the God of the Christian religion.

I have found out that almost 80% of what I learnt as a Christian is either an outright lie, a frabication or a heavy dose of scripture twisting.

Most of you know how fanatical I was a few years ago , fighting for the trinity , hell fire, Virgin birth etc . Well ever since I embarked on a crash course in bible history , it is only God who has prevented my faith from crashing.

No one who reads the truth will deny that there are fundamental issues with a lot of bible stories and scripture. To suggest otherwise makes one a liar and participant in the misrepresentation of God's truth.

I agree with the overall message of the bible ( for there are many truths therein ) , but I cannot agree that it is word of a God when taken as a whole. This is just plain fallacy. Yes , God through his Spirit speaks to us and agrees with the truths he has revealed without which almost everything will become suspect.

I am still learning and now reading a book titled ' The Authentic Gospel of Jesus ' by late Geza Vermes, Professor Emeritus of Jewish studies at Oxford university. He was a former catholic priest. I am also an avid reader of articles by Bart Ehrmn Professor of Religious studies at the University of North Carolina. Bart was a former Evangelical Pastor.

What I have discovered is shocking and not for the faint hearted.

To be honest , I don't know where my quest and thirst for more knowledge will take me , sometimes I am scared, but this search will continue and my results will be shared wth you my good friends and of course enemies on this forum grin.

In summary , I am not an atheist and can never be one , not in this life or the next.

I am now an unfundamental thinking believer of Yeshua or Jesus.
u are travelling a long road, d result will either be deeper faith or total indifference.

May divine light guide ur path.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Frosbel Now An Atheist ? by Ubenedictus(m): 5:04pm On Dec 25, 2014
Wen i saw d thread, d oda day, i thought it was a old thread i guess i was wrong
frosbel:
Starting with the ones you know and that I hold to be myth ;

- trinity
- Virgin birth
- hell fire and heaven
- tithes and offerings
- compulsory church attendance
- one pastor leadership model

These ones are bad enough, but the most serious ones are attempts by some gospel writers to tie their accounts to prophecies that do not exist , are half-complete or not related in any form or shape. None of the gospel writers were eye witnesses of the events surrounding Jesus , they were mostly anonymous authors who took on the name of popular people like Matthew , John etc.

The oldest gospel is Mark around 70ad with Matthew and Luke following and lastly John. John's gospel imbibed elements of gnosticism and Hellenistic belief to tell the story of Jesus to a mostly Greek audience. Matthew no doubt copied from Mark and made some refinements , many of which were presumptuous interpolations to deify Jesus and remove Mark's tendency to make Jesus look like he did not know everything. The account of Jesus's death and resurrection are not aligned and portray serious inconsistencies that cannot be overlooked.

I am still studying and will form a final summary of my findings and stance in the near future.

I still believe in Christ as the Messiah and his ultimate resurrection purely because of Paul. Paul's letters predate the gospels and were written nearer to the time of Jesus by as much as 20 years or so. This means he must have had real contact with the original apostles as he states , and was the one person who was able to articulate the whole concept of Jesus's death, burial, resurrection and purpose into a logical sequence of events pointing to the good news and God's ultimate plan for mankind.

By the way Peter did not write the epistles of Peter because he was an unlettered fisherman considering that the epistle was written in classic Greek which only the elites of that day could do.

Too many to mention, I am still going on ........".
i hope to find tym 2 discus some of these issues with u.
