Tribal association like Igbo Catholic community...I am from Anambra state. Isoko Catholic community ....We used to have meetings under those subheads

We don't cover it on a normal Sunday service.... Sorry if you perceive me to have taken it personal...I have to reply almost same question from different handles ..Make me weary and just want to shoe off the next.

I have not seen this repetitin own because when I open my mention I have new updates ... There was one that ask me about what I meant by in-depth walk and I have been looking for it to answer and can't find it

It is not deliberate that I have avoided making a rejoinder ...We are learning from one another ... Every opportunity I must maximize.
those groups are made by the Christians there to aid information sharing and know each other especially in big parishes, they have little standing in the church, and are a largely eastern phenomenon and don't exist in my parish.

Apostolic succession is a lie from the pit of hell. There is no where in the Bible that teaches apostolic succession. See the link below for details.

https://www.gotquestions.org/apostolic-succession.html
when the apostles left they appointed and
ordained bishops to continue their ministry. the
bishops in general and the pope in particular are
successors of the apostles

the Bible again confirms what I wrote.

Titus 1:5–1:5

you should put in order what remained to be
done, and should appoint elders in every town, as
I directed you:

I can't be repeating myself on this and I am not defensive in any way ..... Who is an elder ... There is no anointing in title ... Bishop Oyedepo usually says that your title entitles you to nothing in the kingdom but your walk with the holy spirit.

I will have to repost what I have already posted as reply to some person here....

nwokoyepraise:

It is written in James 5:16 that we should confess our sins to one another for the forgiveness of our sins which proves that it is not wrong for you to confess your sins to somebody and also highlights the efficacy of confession of ones sins to somebody and.
Then secondly, if we should confess our sins to someone, wouldn't it be wise to confess it to priest whom Jesus Christ has given the power to forgive sins (John 20:23)? Confessing of ones sins to a Priest has several benefits which includes the receptance of grace which will enable someone to avoid a particular sin and also will enable someone to avoid occasions of sin. For instance, if you are genuinely seeking for righteousness, am sure you will try as much as possible to avoid a particular sin if you seem to be confessing it always during confession. I just pray that God will enlighten you to see and understand what am trying to say.

The verse of the scripture you quoted doesn't support what you are explaining Or defending: "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (Jam 5:16)

If you understand the simple grammar , one to another, yo won't be arguing against the instruction of the Bible. If you offend your wife or your parents is it your priest or them that you go to for confession and ask for forgiveness. When meaning is not clear, start from the beginning is the admonition of Bishop Oyedepo concerning the scripture and if you take that route rather than extract a verse and then turn it upside down ,what you will get is that the admonition doesn't support your argument.

That scripture was addressing the rich and their ways and attitude... Rather than complain against one another he admonished they pray and confess their faults to one another ....One another is used when when you have more than two people involved ..... He was addressing a congregation. It was like reconciling a community and bringing back brotherhood ... James wasn't asking them to go to a priest or the apostles.

Here is the James 5 from 9 to 16

"Do not complain against one another, my friends, so that God will not judge you. The Judge is near, ready to appear. My friends, remember the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Take them as examples of patient endurance under suffering. We call them happy because they endured. You have heard of Job's patience, and you know how the Lord provided for him in the end. For the Lord is full of mercy and compassion. Above all, my friends, do not use an oath when you make a promise. Do not swear by heaven or by earth or by anything else. Say only "Yes" when you mean yes, and "No" when you mean no, and then you will not come under God's judgment. Are any among you in trouble? They should pray. Are any among you happy? They should sing praises. Are any among you sick? They should send for the church elders, who will pray for them and rub olive oil on them in the name of the Lord. This prayer made in faith will heal the sick; the Lord will restore them to health, and the sins they have committed will be forgiven. So then, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you will be healed. The prayer of a good person has a powerful effect." (Jam 5:9-16)

John 20:23 is not what you have concluded it to be. Jesus Christ didn't come to cause confusion ... What he meant when he made that state he already demonstrated so your undecidedkind don't run off with the wrong idea...

Here are examples of the sins you forgive are forgiven in heaven by the Lord Jesus Christ

1. "Is it easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? I will prove to you, then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, pick up your bed, and go home!" The man got up and went home." (Mat 9:5-7)

2. "Because of the crowd, however, they could find no way to take him in. So they carried him up on the roof, made an opening in the tiles, and let him down on his bed into the middle of the group in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the man, "Your sins are forgiven, my friend." The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees began to say to themselves, "Who is this man who speaks such blasphemy! God is the only one who can forgive sins!" Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Why do you think such things? Is it easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'?" (Luk 5:19-23)

3. "Seeing how much faith they had, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "My son, your sins are forgiven."" (Mar 2:5)

4. "Is it easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? I will prove to you, then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." So he said to the paralyzed man, "I tell you, get up, pick up your bed, and go home!" At once the man got up in front of them all, took the bed he had been lying on, and went home, praising God." (Luk 5:23-25)

5. "I tell you, then, the great love she has shown proves that her many sins have been forgiven. But whoever has been forgiven little shows only a little love." Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven." The others sitting at the table began to say to themselves, "Who is this, who even forgives sins?"" (Luk 7:47-49)

6. "where some people brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed. When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the paralyzed man, "Courage, my son! Your sins are forgiven."" (Mat 9:2)

The authority Jesu gave them in John 20:23 was sealed and hen he said in Mark 16:17: these signs shall follow them that believe , in my name they shall....... This was exactly what Jesus meant when he said the sins you forgive ... He was addressing deliverance from afflictions or infirmities caused by disobedience to God .... Everytime he forgave sins you could see tangible evidence of deliverance from punishment

He wasn't telling them to start hearing people sins or faults and giving out prayer like drug from pharmacy

The Bible is written for instructions and guide ... It is a book of examples ... Do it the exact way if is in the Bible to get the result they got.... Any other way is man made and and therefore , religion which is man's personal idea of how to please God.

All the so called benefits of confession to a priest you listed is neither here nor there... You don't break the hold of sin through strategy but by walk with the Joly spirit.

Agqin, I repeat , the one I have offended is the one to hear my apologies and then forgive me ... We all have equal fellowship with God as our Father
Example of sicknes, as listed in Naira land today : https://www.nairaland.com/4090683/benue-woman-marries-18-husbands

Thank you
I also told you that I am sure your church will try and interpret it differently from how it was understood for 2000 years of Christianity by all ancient church. of course you guys fail to realise that the Bible was addressing churches that already had these sacrament and practices and was actually repeating what was already done.

you have divorced the scriptures from it natural settings and what you have are the opinions of men who lived 2000yrs after the event and have little knowledge of what they are talking about.

d
that is why every ancient church interpret that passage differently from your 20th century fellowship....
to be continued.

But there is sin which leads to death, and I do not say that you should pray to God about that. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which does not lead to death." (1Jn 5:16-17).... Goodnews Bible

There is sin that leads to death and I am not saying you must pray about that. Every kind of wickedness is sin, but not all sin leads to death." (1Jn 5:16-17)..... New Jerusalem Bible

I have used these two that are Catholic approved Bible to show that what John was saying had an operational key: SEE. if you see a brother commits a sin that is not into death like you see him insult somebody ...Just pray and ask God for forgiveness on his behalf .... He didn't say the brother will come to you and confess it .. you have to be a witness to his sinning.

I don't think we are discussing kinds of sin.

New addition: in case you have forgotten the kernel of our discourse , it is on the articular hearing of sins and forgiveness by the Catholic Church Reve father......I never engaged you on kinds of sin .... Whether leading to death or not

You have yet to prove with the scripture that Jesus Christ gave anyone the anointing to hear sins and forgive same, as is practiced by the Catholic Church ..... What Jesus told the disciples he already practiced severally (I believe I have mentioned you with the Bible verses on this) and so there is no debate about how to forgive sin.

"The deeper into humanist teaching a man delves, the more likely he is to try to make Bible interpretation fit a systematic mold of human logic"
this is the genesis of that post.

I wasn't address you I was talking to homeseady who asked about the benefit of the I confess prayer since his priest usually emphasized confessions.

I replied
3. the I confess prayer is a penitential prayer for
the forgiveness of venial sin, mortal sin does get
forgiven in confession. A prayer doesn't replace
a sacrament. so your priest is right and there is
no contradiction .

my reply shows that there are types of sin one mortal and the other I called venial. I told him that one is addressed through the I confess prayer while the other is through confession as his priest said.

you jumped in and ask me to explain the biblical basis for my reply. I promptly reference 1 jn 5 and later explained that it shows two types of sins and told us one is forgiven by intercession and the other isn't. I explained that it shows the basis for my post since the I confess prayer is intercessory.

this line of discussion is actually about the fact that sins are of two types and each type is treated differently, there is another line of discussion about the anointing to forgive sins and I'll address that after this post. so this discussion is the one with homesteady which you jumped into, there is another line about confession.

please follow up so as not to mingle one response with another, it isn't funny showing how each line of discussion originate .

This is the question i have been asking you Catholics for ever. Long before there was a Catholic Church, there were Churches, how did these Churches able to function without the complied Bible? Oh wait!!!, the books were in parchments.
Case in point, Jesus was in the Synagogue and it was handed to him the book of Isaiah and he read where it was written about him..., Parchments.

The Early Church did well with the parchments, pls give my ears a rest.

Now let me say to you what i said to the other brother. When we meet the Master, he won't require from us our credentials of where we worshipped, we are expected to check if our names are written in the Book of Life, if they are not found therein, the noise here will just be noise.

No man can enter into the Kingdom of God except they be Born Again, FINISH, No long talk.
Long we have told you that even the early church was the Catholic church, and before the Catholic church brought those books together this is what happened.

first there was the old testament ,that was the scripture the church knew and then the apostles taught first with words, when they are about leaving they commit their teaching to some trusted men who were to continue teaching and were ordained presbyter and bishops. sometimes the apostles sent a letter to a church to address certain issues some other church had no letters the presbyter and bishop did much of the preaching themselves.

by the 2nd century each bishop started to gather writing that they considered inline with the teaching they received from the apostles or their predecessors, some were written by apostles like Matthew, some by a disciple like Luke or even Barnabas some by other disciples from apostolic times like Clement, etc. different bishops gathered different books they considered inspired.

all those books are up to 100 parchments, different and by the 4 th century the church decided which among those books are the Bible and aren't. if the church didn't put forth what should be in the Bible, you'll simply have over 100 different parchment some heretical and you would have no idea which is true and which isn't . the early church gathered them all.

I don't think we are discussing kinds of sin.
I am pretty surprise you seem blind to what is written in ink and paper.

there is a sin that leads to death.

there is a sin that doesn't lead to death.

don't pray if it is a sin that leads to death.

pray if it is a sin that doesn't lead to death.

that should be simple enough for anyone, he has put forth two types of sin and shown how to deal with each.

if you say you can't see what is written in plain ink and doesn't require serious logic, then I am worried to even continue a discussion with you.

Themandator:
Sir there no group in the church ...Like st.jude or Paul society , Bible society etc....Only service unit like ushering , sanctuary that cleans the place , Security, etc.....Thee is no tribal association since Jesus didn't start one when he was around.

Our 'normal Church days' are midweek and Sundays ... On Saturday is for home cells ...I Am a teacher at the home cells level , by the way

BCC means Bible certificate course ...It runs for two weeks ...Just like the other courses ......Your version of it is catechism but the difference is that it is not for recital...Who made you ...God me me ...Why did God make you ...God made me to know him , love him and to be happy with him in the world after .......Lcc means leadership certificate course and LDC means leadership diploma course ... Every winner and even Pastors from other churches are encouraged and do come for these schools. The fee is just 1200.

I just did my Lcc after over three years of doing the BCC ..I hope to do the LDC this year.
your structure again is similar to that of redeem. again I doubt your 2 weeks course cover the entire Bible.

again you took the Bible thing personal, even though my statement was fair. your church still doesn't cover genesis to revelation on you normal church days, and if it did it would have to repeat the same the next year. so it is still repetitive.

I see you did respond to my statement on repetition.

God never asked anyone to confess their sins to any mortals ....We all have equal fellowship before God though different levels of anointing... The one I have offended is the one to hear me out .... I have not offended a priest and therefore can't confess to him
now you seem to be getting defensive it is OK.

1. God does ask you to confess your sin to another, in very clear ink James 5 says so and in context to the presbyter since he is the one called to anoint the sick and ask for his forgiveness.

2. Christians are of equal dignity but not the same function that is why JM 5 say when you are sick call the presbyter not call any brethren.
3. John 20 also tells us that Christ gave the ministry to forgive sins to his apostles, it is not about who you offended Jesus clearly says receive the holy spirit whoever sins you forgive are forgiven. that is the ministry of reconciliation.

I will also go ahead a assume you and your new church will interprete those passages differently and in my next post I'll tell you why, and remind you that the Catholic church teaches the Gospel as delivered by the apostles and understood in the church of Christ for 2000 years .

I have read the scripture , waiting for your interpretation....,it talks about sin.

I will reply your other statement, later
yes it talks about sin.

apostle John teaches that all sin is sin but sin has types, he says there is a sin that leads to death AKA mortal sin and there exist a sin that doesn't kill.

he says if you see a brethren commit a non mortal sin that you can pray to God on his behalf and that sin will be remitted and forgiven, he didn't say go and meet him and ask him to repent etc, no, all you gat to do is pray and he will be forgiven, BUT
If your brethren commit a mortal sin he expressly says I don't ask you to pray about it, you have no business with that.

any body can see that not every sin is handled in the same way. some are easily dealt with by the intercession of others while others can't.

back to my statement, the I confess prayer in an intercessory prayer whereby we ask God to forgive others sin and John clearly says that non mortal sins are forgiven that way but he also teaches that such intercession isn't how to deal with mortal sin.

I' ll expound this post later.... but for now it explains the biblical basis for my earlier statement.

Those churches don't engage in Bible recital. They teach the Bible and by the year end just like you have stated through midweek service , daily devotional that holds in the Church every morning and evening raid that equally holds every day save for Saturday and sunday winners teaches you the scripture.

If you go for WOFBI.. BBC, LCC, LDC you will have an uncommon understating of the scripture.

By their fruit you know them ...Where did you suppose I learnt what I have been putting out here ...From Winners.
so you mean I won't really hear the entire Bible just from going to your church on normal church days, in fact I have to go every morning and evening and then join groups like BBC, LCC, LDC to get this understanding. and even then I still won't hear the Bible read because it you claim you don't do "recitals", so I guess you simply do explanations.

The Catholic order of mass is repetitive. It has nothing to do with the covenants you have listed to support it .... Those covenant didn't happen every day and Sundays ... They were hundreds of years apart, don't make it look like the same actors did them Everytime
it has everything to do with the covenants above the mass is repetitive by nature because it is a covenantal sign.

actually those sacrifices are repetitious, every time a covenant was made we see them, every time the covenant was renewed we see them, whenever people worshipped God we see them. it gets even more repetitious after Solomon built a temple, there the sacrifices every day morning and evening every week every month, every year all year round for hundreds of years, if that isn't repetition then what is?

these were the mean by which the people of God reenacted, renewed and remembered their covenant with God and Jesus himself gave us the ritual by which we remember, reenact and proclaim the new covenant, even Paul simply repeat the ritual in 1 cor 11 and says as often as you do it you proclaim the Lord's death,
if that isn't repetition please tell me what is. the early Christian continued in this breaking of bread, it is mentioned there in scripture and early Christian writings

the wahala is that you don't even seem to recognise this covenantal sign that is why is seem you are ignorant that it is repetitious.

Why would you sit in judgement and conclude that other churches don't complete the Bible in three years when even Christ Embassy runs programs for completing the Bible in a year..... There is no church that doesn't complete the Bible in a year

Winners runs a 12 calendar teaching topic known as the 12 pillars of the Church/ Destiny... Sanctification, Divine direction , Divine Prosperity, Divine healing, Thw word , Signs and wonders , Prayer ,the holy spirit and the rest and all they teaching before the year ends comes from the entire bible....This September that just ended is the month of supernatural Breakthrough is my birthright.....As from Sunday October first, it will be another theme
Are you saying that if an average winner or redeem, or embassy or mfm member attend church on the normal church days he will hear the entire Bible read to him from Genesis to revelation? because I have Protestant friends the devoted one go to church about 4 times a week and more particularly I have a winner friend who is pretty clear that if you attended his church on their church days you wouldn't hear the entire Bible read. instead they have bible guides there is the yearly one by adeboye for redeem, passages are put down and a short reflection and it still doesn't cover the entire Bible.

so be clear are you saying your church Bible guides covers the entire Bible or that an average Joe in your Church who goes every church day will hear the entire bible read?

Please the bolded in your post should receive more light with scriptural backings.
no problem, my battery is dying let me address that later start with 1 jn 5:13-17

" likes to claim" ? ....but isnt it true that she played an unprecedented role in midwifing the Bible ? Why the Holy Spirit allow the Catholic church to play this big role may elude your understanding but it is a fact you can't wish away: that She gave the Bible to the world.

St Paul never knew the books of Proverbs, Revelation or Mathew were or would be in existence when he wrote his epistles and never talked about them nor was he aware that several holy writings would assembled, debated, some removed and others canonized and a 66 books compiled in one package called the Bible. Neither is any apostle or disciple of Christ aware that a 66 book had been ordained by God when each of them including John of the Revelation wrote their inspirations down , hence the ' do not add or subtract' claim was strictly for the book of Revelation and not for the bible that has been subjected to different additions and subtractions at different councils before the present 68,69 or 66 books depending on your choice of the Christian sects.
more like 73 books

Themandator:
Yes... The priest is not only dull but lacked scriptural knowledge and depth... Now what version of the gospel is the Catholic Church promoting and please while replying, help me with your last Sunday note to buttress it

Don't go online and copy already prepared homily for me ...I will know...I am America ...I will know.
1. you asked what version of the gospel the Catholic Church promotes, I answer that the Catholic Church promotes THE gospel as given by the apostles as their successors bear witness, as written in scripture and as has been lived and interpreted consistently in the living Church for 2000 years. it is the gospel as given in the first century, lived, expounded and transmitted for 2000 years in the heart of the living church. it isn't a version of the gospel, it is THE gospel in all it vivifying power.

2. you asked about my Sunday note, I actually only begin my reflection with the homily since I tend to add more flesh to my note at home but I'll share a condensed version of my note since it is pretty long.

the topic on Sunday was " the generosity of God in mercy and reward".

the passage to be discussed were matt 20:1-16, Isaiah 55:6-9, ps 144:2-3. 8-9.17-18. it was glued together with Phil 1:20-24, 27.

I encourage you to read those passages before the reflection.

God is overwhelming in his love, he shows forth this love most clearly in his mercy and his grace, the former granted to the repentant and the later I.e his grace to those who are ready and disposed for it.

we see the later most clearly in Matt 20, the parable of the land owner, God himself is the land owner he make an agreement, a contract or even more exactly a covenant with us who the parable calls his workers, the pay for work done is the covenantal promises ie grace both for physical and spiritual needs, forgiveness, and even more importantly sonship and eternal life. the are the terms of the covenant, live in Christ Jesus through faith and inherit all the promises of the covenant. in this covenant relationship note the following.

1. vs 1 it is the master that "goes out" to look for us, he initiates the relationship in love he goes out Like a lover for a beloved, Jeremiah said in 20:7 you have seduced me oh God, Jesu says in rev, I stand on the door and knock, he is the shepherd who goes out and looks for his sheep. God goes out for he is love, ps 144:8-9 the lover find s the beloved he initiates the relationship....
2. vs 3,5&6 God goes out not just once but over and over 4 times (3 is used very well in scripture to note expectation and completeness...) God does it 3 times plus 1 ,over exceeding love bringing as much as possible into the covenant...
3. vs 3&6 "standing idle in the market" not at home but in the market, not playing but idle open for work, open for encounter, docile, ready, not in hardness of heart, Jeremiah 20:7 says I have allowed myself to be seduced, the door of the heart must be ready to open, the lover must respond to the call that is what is 55 calls turning to the Lord...

lastly the promises are same, there is no Room for envy, it isn't how long it is how well, he who is in Christ inherits the sonship and promises and blessing in Christ whether he began early like the apostle john or late like Paul. God is generous.....

his generosity is also seen in his mercy...which he gives to the repentant... he forgives all our sins throws away our transgressions, he blots them out is55:6, ps 102:9,8......

the reflection concludes with and exhortation, first God's overwhelming mercy is not license to sin (romans) instead an means to position us for righteous living, basing it on Phil 1: 20-27 our lives must be transformed into the live of Christ so as to be assured that death is gain, it is those who persevered till the end that are saved.... be holy... live out the Christian calling...be transformed, don't model your life to that of the passing word...,avoid whatever is unworthy of the gospel....

I had to cut it short, I don't know if you read long post. I also cut out some scripture passages.

lastly it is possible your priest isn't dull nor lack scripture knowledge... a Catholic priest doesn't just read scripture he instead goes deep into the original Greek and Hebrew... some people find it easy to express what they know and even what they don't know, others aren't so gifted. most times it is a matter of talent not knowledge. I met many fiery priest preachers also teacher, I also know a priest who isn't a good orator, he has the word but not the presentation, he is also the most prayerful and devote open person I know who quietly calls down heaven on earth. he has also impacted my life the most, but his presentation is dull, if your mind can shift away the dullness and see the massage you will be blessed for it. then some preacher adapt themselves to their congregation, if you are in a old people parish you' ll beta bit dull, children have watery homilies, monastry may be all bone no meet because they digest bone there etc.

Are you kidding me? Which of the Peshitta are you talking about in the same sentence with catholic church? Now, tell me the name of the catholic that "did" Peshitta.
you already gave the name of the person many ascribed the Syriac revisions are ascribed to, St Lucian of Antioch. what you didn't note is that he was a Catholic in the Church and in communion with his bishop.

NB. for those who may not be aware most historian do not think the Peshitta was done by one translator. instead it was done by several, the Jews may have first translated the old testament then the Christians from the 2nd century to the 5th added their canon as it was used in church.
and more importantly the Church in those century were Catholic and whatever Christian translator you put forth it would still be a Catholic.

Is your faith now based on Scriptures alone? The apostles are the pillars while Christ is the Rock on which they stand.
Together, we are his house, built on the
foundation of the apostles and the
prophets.
And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus

Why are you tailing all along if not to tell me that Catholic church gave us the Bible?
I think it was a comprehension problem on your part.

the Catholic church gave us the bible doesn't imply she authored the books in it.

it means you won't have a Christian bible if not for what God used the Church to do.

there were many books that early Christians read in Church, like Shepherd of hermas, gospel of Barnabas, letter of Clement e.t.c. it was the Church that sat and determined which were scripture and which weren't canonical. simply put if not for the Church you won't have a Bible at all, what you'll have is about 100 books all readable.

the Church didn't just set the canon of scripture, she preserved and circulated it, preached it and expounded it for 2000 years.

you wouldn't even know to read the gospel of Mathew instead of the gospel of James if the Church hadn't set the canon and given it to you.

If you get a grip and let go off pastors for a while, you could see clearly that i'm a student of the Word, not relying on what any man says. Pastors are not the Holy Spirit. I have the Holy Spirit for myself, whatever i don't understand, i ask him. so pls enough of what the pastor says.

I was a catholic and i know how reverenced the words of the clergy is there, it's not like that with everyone in the Pentecostal.

Winners Chapel is a Church which teaches you to be your own pastor. Bishop Oyedepo will always tell you 'I cant help you, i need help just like you do, ask the Holy Spirit'.
of course Catholics respect the words of their pastors, the Catholic priest bears the anointing of the apostles successors and Jesus said to his apostles "he who hears you hears me". So yes I am happy to respect the words of a clergyman the Bible supports that. Good enough Catholic priests are usually knowledgeable in their general knowledge... you on the other hand have given us a remix of the king Henry saga and falsely accused Rome of spreading the Christian faith with a sword in Europe... certainly these simply shows your lack of historical knowledge similar to what obtains among pastors, the HOLY spirit didn't teach you these history remix. That is all you and your pastors.

that book is called ROME SWEET HOME, and the author is still writing books till date. I would challenge you to get another from the same author.

Thanksgiving service for the month September
Theme of the month …. Supernatural Breakthrough is my birthright
Teaching series for the month: Gateways to supernatural breakthroughs….Part 4
Call to service: Psalms 126:1-
Ministering: Pastor Tolu Adekoya

Life is designed for progress … Lack of progress is the reason for frustration in life….. Breakthrough is about making satisfactory progress in life …… The beauty of life is motion
Backbiters are stagnated people. The cure for backbiting is progress.
Failure makes a colourful destiny to misbehave …. The covenant of Breakthrough does not allow the past to be better than you today… You are not making progress if your yesterday is better than today ….It is anti covenant

Why Breakthrough

God is against stagnation….. Where you are is not your place of rest ….A higher place awaits you….. Micah 2:10
Destinies of people are tied to you …, You are a saviour. You can't afford to keep destiny on the floor because of you lack of breakthroughs.
It is not enough to pray for prosperity you must give to prosperity …. To have more in this kingdom you give … It is what you give out that prospers you in this kingdom not what you receive.
There is prayer seed and material seeds to sow for you to reap. Prayer clears everything around you. Prayer alone doesn't bring prosperity … If you just have Breakthrough in life there are things you must do spirituality and there are things you must do physically.

The force of love ….The first spiritual things to do is to love God ...Matt 22:36-40…. It is your life for a things that makes you a servant for that thing … If you love money you will become a servant to it and it will push you around …,.It takes love of God to be a servant of God ….And he takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servant ...Psalm 35:27 …… My service is powered by a genuine love for God…….. Don't operate like a bat..,neither a rat nor a bird

What authenticate your service to God is your life for him…… 2 Cor 2:9….. The deeper your root in the love of God the larger the advancement you command in the journey of life. …. If you love God you will love his people and his house.

You need the force of sacrifice to command Breakthrough. Doing your best is diligence but going beyond your best is sacrifice ….Taking steps without looking back. It is the initiative to go the extra mile because it is only those who do what others don't do that gets what others don't get

Successful people are ex-failures who got mad at their failure … There is no star without a scar. …. There is one thing you need to pursue for other things to pursue you….. God
Serving God out of comfort doesn't bring you anything…. You can't suffer pain in this kingdom and not live a life of comfort

Keys to the world of supernatural breakthroughs and prosperity.

Prosperity belongs to the spiritual. It is your spiritual buoyancy that determines your physical buoyancy. …. Pro 10:22 ...3 John 2 ...Exo 13:5 …. When you are spiritual alive you can hear God when he speaks to you on where to go and not go to make it … Be spiritually minded. Until you prosper spiritually you can't prosper physically. You must seek your spiritual prosperity. … ...It is called a weight of glory .. if you don't have the capacity ...God is not a killer ...He won't deliver it to you. …. If you want change of level build capacity because it serves as your foundation for your Breakthrough in life. ….What goes into you and what you do is what builds you. ...What you hear what you see is what determines your attitude per time ….You can't escape spirituality if you want to be successful.. blessings are first spiritual before they became material ….until you have the capacity to bring it you can't have it in the material world ………….Until you change gear spiritual you can't change level
Engage in covenant practice ….whatever seed you are sowing without being spiritual is a wasted seed. … Don't waste your seed ...Clean up spiritually… Go settle with that person first ...Forgive
you left a Church because a priest is dull even though he maybe teaching the truth and went for the prosperity gospel.
interesting

It's human nature to get tired of repetitions, fortunately, I've admitted the truth and you have not.
I can literally say the Mass from beginning to end due to my experience as an Alter server, almost every year the same readings and Saint feasts. And honestly some teachings are just contradictory, for example - Yesterday, my Priest was just hammering on confession, that if you don't go for confession, it means you haven't had a spiritual bath, so you are smelling before God. Why is he underestimating the forgiving power of God? Did God tell him or the Pope that we must confess our sins via them to God before we are forgiven? Besides what's now the use of that I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters prayer? Are they saying the pray is useless?
strangely enough if you read your Bible you will realise that God is a fan of repetitious covenantal rituals. right from the beginning when man started worshipping God,Abel is the first recorded ritualist, he built an alter and offered God a sacrifice the same ritual is performed by Noah when God made a covenant with him then Abraham when God made a covenant, then Isaac when God renews his covenant, then Jacob,... then Moses and all the Israelites each time they renewed their covenant with God they repeat rituals again and again and again... and even when Jesus came and offered the sacrifice of all sacrifices he still left us a repetitious ritual called the Eucharist, and St Paul says that as often as we REPEAT that ritual we are proclaiming that ultimate sacrifice that seals the new covenant.

if you are scared of repetition then maybe you haven't been reading the bible or maybe you should change your orientation.
2. every year is not the same reading, there are 3 different liturgical cycles and the whole Bible is covered in 3 years leaving just bit and pieces. do you know any other church that cover the Bible in 3 years.... the feast are the same because the liturgical cycle is like a spiral staircase each new cycle catapulting you to a new level in grace. it is a pity we Catholics do not see this.

3. the I confess prayer is a penitential prayer for the forgiveness of venial sin, mortal sin does get forgiven in confession. A prayer doesn't replace a sacrament. so your priest is right and there is no contradiction .

There are a thousand other verses about asking God for forgiveness! Besides I'm not arguing about the efficacy of confession! I'm just saying they are undermining God's forgiveness with such sermons, because even logically it doesn't make any sense. Can you with a straight face boldly say God doesn't forgive Non-Catholics because they don't go for confession?
there are many verses about forgiveness in scripture but in the new testament and in early Christian writing the mode of obtaining this forgiveness is usually confession.

I can't tell you what God doesn't do, but I can tell you what God does. He offered confession as THE new testament means of forgiving sin and he gave that power to the apostles and their successors and this has been the practice in the Church of Christ for 2000 years.

I won't tell you what God doesn't do, but that which he has told us in scripture and in the Church for centuries that I'll do,and if I were you I would thank the priest who reminded me.

permit me to rant a little, I think the problem with Catholics is that we are often ignorant of what we have and treat them with less the value they possess. Do you think God is ignorant of the fact that many people will sit in their house and pray for forgiveness? yet after he has paid the ultimate price and won infinite merits for us he came to his apostles and gave them power to forgive sins, he gave us a sacrament for reconciliation and made his ministers stewards of his mysteries. Why not make use of this new testament gift whereby Hod clearly shows his mercy and assure you of forgiveness. sorry but you can't compare it to what the Protestants have, they simply don't have this, nor do they have the life giving Eucharist... these are the gift of the new covenant found only in the Church of Christ.

I am lost for words, I don't know how to even explain this to you. how God himself activates his covenant for us through the sacrament.

such inhumane killing by Nigerian military, it is time we Nigerian start questioning the atrocities that are committed in our name under the pretense of national unity.
