How was she able to marry in the UK without showing legal papers. I did registry (marriage) here even though I went to naija for white and trad. I been married longer than she been here (8 years) and even back then if you are here illegally you were not able to marry inside UK as that something they check thoroughly when you are giving notice. ....... maybe her area / council didnt check

Also while her passport might be sent to naija and stamped , she forgetting she wont be on any flight record which the home office can check if they want but I dont know how far back they have access to ........ my MIL overstay 6 months due to covid lockdown so we kept applying for extension, one the final note, home office replied us that it's all fine now, they can see on flight record she back to naija. ..... I also know of a lady who stayed here 2 years doing nanny but sent her passport to naija after 6 months to stamp. When she applied for renewal she was rejected that flight record shows she stayed here 2 years. Those 2 incidents confitms to me that they have access to check

But you cannot cry more than the bereaved, if she sure it wont affect and it's a chance she willingly to take...... then hey...... If she applies time and experience will show her what the home office is capable of checking or not checking by the result .. perhaps maybe her case worker wont be thorough like the one who allowed an illegal immigrant to marry
She must have manipulated the system

Hello house pls how will home office find out or is it possible for home office to find out.

A friend of mine came on a six months visiting visa here in the UK and she had overstayed for 8 years, she told me that immediately she came to the UK, after one month she stayed and she DHL back her passport to her home country and her elder brother who is an immigration officer working at the airport stamped entry visa for her, just like she came bk home. Meanwhile, since 8 years now her passport is in her home country. So she said she left UK early this year with emergency traveling document. She also got married here in the UK to a British citizen, my friend is back to her home country and wants to apply for spouse visa, I asked her if she will use a lawyer bc of her overstay and the passport issue, she told me NO, that UK immigration will not in any way find out, that she is smart and has manipulated the system, no immigration will find out. I was shocked and I told her to declare it in her application, that she will cut. I am so afraid for her that she might be cut and banned . Pls house kindly advise. Thank you
"A friend of mine"

"My in-laws sister"

Etc Etc.

She doesn't need advice na,

she said
1. she is smart
2. Manipulated the system.

What does she need advice for?

Quite unfortunate!

There's no value for life in Nigeria. Normality is absurd in Nigeria.

Personal and corporate greed is ingrained in every act regardless of the impact on others and the nation at large.

We can't build a nation on greed and graft.

A revolution of personal and corporate values is needed in Nigeria.
This is the conclusions I always arrive at when ever I get stuck in discussing Nigerian problems and issues.

The government, and the masses are all meat cooked in the same pot.

We need Orientation, and reset of morals and mindset.

Because as it stands now, if all the current politicians are replaced with all new youth. Same things happening now will keep happening.

This interesting and noted ......as my family members came in January batch on tier 4 . All that was attached was their marriage certificate and wedding pictures. No issues at all , although they have a child together so birth certificate was also included with pictures of the family

They both lived in nigeria the same house but had no evidence in terms of joint Bill's or lease
.. my feedback was based on that experience, it good to note that it can be subjective and hence put all you have. Thanks
I think where I made mistake was not adding pictures, as in your familys case they still added pictures.

I believe the guidance should be updated to reflect addition of pictures
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by umarwy(m): 3:06pm On Nov 29, 2020
LagosismyHome:
If you are not yet living together nobody in this world will expect joint joint this and that for a new marriage that happened in Dec

Marriage certificate and some pictures would be sufficient
Guidance says marriage cert and joint bills. And also the guidance clearly states not to add unceasary docs or irrelevant docs.

April 2019 Me and my big head after reading PBS dependant guidance back to back out in application for my spouse with marriage cert and only docs requested (maintanance, passport etc) na so we see denial for mail oh.

When we reapplied, I put everything putable, pictures, chat call history, letter from naija government, letter from court etc. That's when we are granted the visa oh.

Moral of the story

Its better safe than sorry.

I am scared cos they use to hammer on joint bills, joint account, mortgage in both names, anything joint sha.

Wedding will take place December 24th. We will be applying early next year as against May intake.

I don’t think we will be having any of those join join things.

I know marriage certificate will cover the genuine part, but what about the subsisting part.

What can we do?
Add plenty pictures
Add call/chat history

Good day everybody.

Please, my total payable tuition fee is £16,950. I got discount of £4,000 and I have paid £7,500 so far, leaving me with a balance of £5,450 payable, my school is located outside London £1023 x 9 = £9207.
A total of £14,657 is needed as POF for me. Using oanda’s exchange rate is will be needing NGN7,415,410

My dad is my sponsor and he has NGN6,954,930
I have about NGN3,000,000 in my personal account, which makes up the POF.
Now the issue is in my account I have withdrawn and deposited funds in it since the past 28days but it has never gone below NGN2,000,000. To be clearer in the last 28days I started with an opening balance of NGN7,000,000 but right now I have about NGN3,000,000.

Please will the inconsistencies in my account be an issue for visa purposes.
If you are worried about funds in account not been enough, pay additional school fees.

Me I dey fear this vaccine. The little microbiology/biochemistry courses I took at uni are coming back to me and I know that MRNA has to do with dna nucleus. There is no way I am going to allow anyone to inject another organisms dna into me. What of if like spider man the two DNA fuses to form a different organism?
Everything that is happening today we used to watch in films, so no one should come here and say it can’t happen because the truth is nobody really knows. It’s all trial and error.
For me if they don't make the vaccine compulsory, and or make it difficult to exist of one don't take it.

I will wait make them use the first 5 years do testing first abeg.

Hello I tried an experiment this afternoon and here are my findings(wetin boredom dey cause grin)

Note, I'm 12days old in the UK

Title of experiment : Currency conversion
Aim : To convert naira to pounds via cryptocurrency exchange
Procedure:
Monzo account was opened on Saturday (online) I'm still in isolation. Debit card arrived this morning and got activated

Nigeria verified binance account was funded with 15k, since it was an experiment the account was funded trice with 5k each transaction in order to meet the minimum transaction requirements

Btc was purchased with ₦ and exchanged for £

Withdrawal from my binance wallet to Monzo account
Total of £21.81 was received

Major transaction costs
To fund 5k, 150 naira charge, I did that 3 times
(Minimum 150naira max 18million)
Withdrawal charge £1.5

That is it!
Do you think it's worth it?
Started out with 15k, got £21.81
What do you think?
This was 688 naira to a pound.

Watch your self!

Still in the planing stage so nothing solid yet.

First steps is getting health and safety/communication down.

Then go on forums of people with experience doing the Dakar for some pointers.

Etc etc.

I might open a thread for it.

But probably spend a night in each of the transit countries. Or visit landmarks that won't be way out of the route.

Have you researched your journey from Algeria to Niger?
Yes, still ongoing though. The scariest part for me currently is 22hrs on ferry and traveling within naija.

I still have time to gather more info as my trip is still probably about 3-5 years in the future

angry angry angry angry angry I think this time you are better off going on your own. What kind of jeep will you be using? Through the desert ? Libya etc. Have you really thought properly about this because it’s more like a suicide mission. Touring through Europe is different to touring Africa. I wish you good luck because you are going to need it.
Thanks for the nice words.

UK - France - Spain - Algeria - Niger - Nigeria

I am actually thinking of a hybrid vehicle no necessarily a Jeep ( I hate Jeeps). Cars that would go on my list must have low breakdown rate and easy repairs/parts across the route.

Not a suicide mission, and I have had it in my mind for years.

I am sure I would come across someone as passionate in time

Good evening
I need advice, I think it will be given better by those that stay in the uk
We will be relocating to the UK, Liverpool to be precise(tier 2 visa) we are a family of 3
With respect to clothing, food, accommodation and flight

My wife wants to bring along some foodstuffs, please what kind of foodstuffs are permissible?
Most Nigerian foodstuff are available here, bt things like egusi, ogbon crayfish can seem pricey i comparison with naija.
she can bring any food items as log as its nt liquid. and max for fish is 20kg

We intend to buy just one jacket per person till we get to the UK, is this decision okay?
Yes

The organisation is not providing us any accommodation and we need a place for isolation. Please what are the best options with regards to cost
Airbnb

We are planning on booking Turkish Airlines, good decision?
Most airlnes offer similar service, it all depends o the price.
Make sure you fly to manchester as its much closer to liverpool than london, and easier to get to

I will be grateful for your inputs
Welcme to liverpool

Can someone work with student brp even though he/she stopped going to the school
Stopped going to school??

Or finished school?

Once you stop going to school, your university will notify UKVI about your missed attendance, and your visa/brp will be curtailed (cancelled).
