ritsy02: Please my programme duration is from August 23, 2022- May 31st, 2024, but my passport will expire in January, 2024 (before my programme ends).
Is this an issue please? Do I need to renew my passport, when I still have almost 2 years validity on it? You will need a valid passport if you are planning to travel out and within the US |

obojememe: good day fam...for someone who intend to apply for a student visa and have d intention of going with his dependant(wife) , is it advisable ? husband and wife are employed husband is going for an MBa. As long as husband can prove he can take care of wife while they are there, it's fine. And as long as wife can state reasons why she's going with husband when asked, it's okay. Best of luck |

Ladybii: Send marriage certificate to the school or the embassy. Im just asking if my mum can join me ,so things will be easier. It wont be easy taking care of kids , schooling for a starter like me. Im trying to weigh my options. Is mother a dependent thats what i want to know, has anyone tried it before. Okay, let me help you understand some things here. Mum is not a dependant, only your own family (spouse and children/child) can be your dependant. So two things, 3 actually 1. You apply for F1 and your husband and kids apply for F2 with you. They can travel with you or not, it's not necessary. 2. You apply alone and everyone else apply later if they want to come. 3. You apply with your kids, F1 and F2 and mum apply for B1/B2 (with or without you) The part where you said it will not be easy taking care of the kids and schooling, yes you are right. The kids have passed Daycare or learning center stage, their age should be elementary school or so. The Good thing is, they can actually enroll in an elementary school (if they come with you) while you also do your school. My advice, apply with them, let them come when mum gets her visa so that the stress will not be too much. Best of luck |

DarrrkMatter: Good Morning All I graduated secondary school in July 2019 I gained admission immediately to one of the best universities in nigeria without help or connection I'm currently in my second year studying mechanical engineering but truth be told... I'm tired and I've lost faith in the nigerian tertiary education system... fraud everywhere I'm currently considering dropping out then starting all over abroad preferably Canada or USA I'm still under 20 so age is still on my side My WAEC RESULT : BIOLOGY B3 CHEMISTRY B3 CIVIC EDUCATION B3 DATA PROCESSING B3 ENGLISH LANGUAGE B3 FURTHER MATHEMATICS A1 GENERAL MATHEMATICS B2 PHYSICS C4 TECHNICAL DRAWING C6 What i keep thinking about now is the 3 years gap i now have since when I graduated secondary school... because I see some schools require no more than 2 years since graduating from high school Okay......but do this instead of "dropping out" transfer your credit to any school of your choice and in any country. On how to transfer, there's always a transfer options at any University. Best of luck |

Ladybii: Hi good evening , please if one has 2 kids ages 8 and 7 , and in the case where my husband can't go with me because of work and can only be visiting once once , can I apply f2 for my mum and kids, so my mum can be watching my kids while am schooling. Pls help with suggestions. And also is there anyone doing msc in accounting with a school that offers scholarship, can the person share information pls I think only immediate family can be added as dependants. That's spouse (s) and children. Extended families can not be added. There should be more explanation on this on each visa categories on the US website. B1/B2 for mum and dad, F2 for spouse and children. Best of luck |

TabletMan: Thanks bro The department I am applying for just have few admission requirements but in the school site, you can upload any supporting documents that you like/have. So I just want to know if someone have gotten admitted before without any resume or recommendation letter. As for the SOP, I will write that one and submit. Okay, you can email the grad coordinator of your department because it's states on the school's site that some department do require those supporting documents |

ChrisRocks: Once again the US Mission has put out a tweet telling Nigerians to stop booking interview waiver appointments when their visas expired more than 24 months ago, our people are the problem. They said, "A significant number of people have booked appointments each day even though their visas expired more than 24 months ago." This is the second time they have tweeted about this.
It wouldn't be so difficult if people just followed instructions. Read this too yesterday. I'm sure some are doing it based on "if I get there they can't possibly send me back anyways" but it's okay that they are turned back. I'm just hoping they don't stop this process soon. Best of luck to everyone trying to get a date |

TabletMan: Please must we submit resume,SOP and recommendation letter even if it's not important criteria listed in admission requirements? Okay what do you mean by "important criteria"? If these are part of the requirements, then yes you have to submit them. If they are not listed as requirements or you are not asked while filling the school's application then they are not needed. On the other hand, if they are part of requirements and you feel they are not important then there's a problem. It's better you don't turn in your application at all because most schools want to see your past, present and future aspirations through your SOP and they want to get a view of who you are through your letter of recommendation. They want to see your experience through your resume. Best of luck |

Shanid: Hello, what if I have enrolled for classes online and got a date mid semester...is that okay ? Ok, yes if you have enrolled online already it's a good explanation on why after 4 wks of resumption but make sure the program you are doing online can't be totally offered online. What I'm saying is, if the VO thinks you can actually get your degree if you continue online then you will not be needing a visa after all. So that is the backside of starting a class online. Have all supporting documents ready. A letter from the school, coursework and all of that. Most importantly, make sure you make it politely clear that it's impossible to finish your degree online without some in-person coursework in form practical or anything as relate to your post rogram. Best of luck |

If yes, what are the changes? Congratulations. Yes, the newborn will need a US visa to be able to travel. Simonokeh7: I used my mother state of origin for my undergraduate details..
Cos' the university was located in her state and you know the whole catchment areas with subsidized fee privileges
But I intend using my actual state of origin for my master.
But I don't want a conundrum whereby my master application form or anything that has to do with my masters education is saying a different things and then my school request for my transcript and my undergraduate degree details is saying a different things
Or even if I scale through in a hypothetical situation during my Visa interview the V.O. sees a different information on my Visa application and my school details is saying an entirely different thing.
I'm just trying to forstall any such inconsistencies.. Okay then stick with the state you have been using because I don't think you can ask your school to change the state from their end. You can try though. Best of luck |

Simonokeh7: Thank you all for your answers.
But more worringly, I'd like to know, to the various Universities in the state you all have been applying to is there any section in the application process that requires for your state of origin, or just nationality is fine by them.
Because, it would seem rather absurd if not fraudulent if my master application has a different state of origin and my transcript if requested has a different detail. Okay......have you been claiming another state other than your state of origin? Because that can be one of the cases here. |

GAPPLE: Thank you UmmZayd for always. It seems I didn't put out my question well.
Can we apply/register for Visa as married before our wedding date BUT we would have been married before we go for the interview?
Is there any problems with that? If you will be married before interview, then you can state that in the DS160. Don't forget you can also update the form 72 hrs before interview so take your time. Get the wedding album or some pictures just in case the VO ask for it. And he/she may ask if it's a love or arranged marriage. Most people go for arranged marriage. At first I didn't see the advantages of this but looking at it from another angle I see why most indians especially say arranged. If it's an arranged marriage then you both need the time to get to know each other. |

anuijadu: Good afternoon everyone. I am new here and would like to ask some questions. I intend giving birth to my and this would be my 3rd birth process after the 1st 2in Nigeria. Though this time it’s a set of Twin. I am about applying for emergency interview and I do not have a letter from a doctor in Nigeria. Please advice if my scan results is good enough to be granted emergency interview. Thank you and God bless Congratulations. But apart from the letter from your Nigerian Physician, you will still need US billing documents and all other supporting documents. Yes, the scan results are okay but will you can get a written statement from your Nigerian doctor to back everything up, it will make sense too. Best of luck and safe delivery. |

My fiance in the USA on F1 visa is coming to renew his visa this year, also coming for our wedding, and wants to file for F2 visa for me also.
He said he can get F2 i20 for me before our wedding.
Can we register for our visas before our wedding?
We plan on going for our interview together Congratulations. However, if it's possible to do the interview after wedding, it's better but if not, before wedding is good. Please make sure you have something tangible that will make you go to US and come back next 2weeks to take care of. That will serve as a good home ties Best of luck. |

Because I want to mention in my new application 1. Married, 2, New job, 3. Father as a sponsor, 4, ESL waived. Good now everything is clearer. Yes, you can make all the changes but don't forget to get a new i-20 from school. Best of luck |
