While the old generations of pool betters are dying, young generation are now hooked on online sports betting to try their lucks on hitting the jackpot. My questions. 1. Are true believers in Christ ought to play get involved with lotto, pool betting and online sports bet knowing fully well that Christ warned against greed and covetousness? 2. Are Pastors and men of God right in praying for gamblers and pool betters like the one that advertised as it as the theme of his crusade?

Why this disparate treatment of looks in so many areas of life? It’s a matter of simple prejudice. Most of us, regardless of our professed attitudes, prefer as customers to buy from better-looking salespeople, as jurors to listen to better-looking attorneys, as voters to be led by better-looking politicians, as students to learn from better-looking professors. This is not a matter of evil employers’ refusing to hire the ugly: in our roles as workers, customers and potential lovers we are all responsible for these effects. How could we remedy this injustice? With all the gains to being good-looking, you would think that more people would get plastic surgery or makeovers to improve their looks. Many of us do all those things, but as studies have shown, such refinements make only small differences in our beauty. All that spending may make us feel better, but it doesn’t help us much in getting a better job or a more desirable mate.Nevertheless being ugly has massive benefits. Ugly people are appreciated for their personality — Beautiful people never know if people like them for who they are or how they look. I know a number of beautiful women and, to be perfectly honest, I couldn’t tell you if they have pleasant personalities or not. Actually, I couldn’t tell you if they have a personalities at all. I get so caught up in their beauty that my brain can’t comprehend what they are saying when they speak (that’s why my lecturer then in school thinks I don’t listen to her). If you’re ugly, though, and someone agrees to go out with you, chances are it’s because they like you for who you are. Unless, of course, you’re rich. Then you can be sure they like you because of your money. Ugly people are funnier — Think of all the truly funny people you know. Chances are they are unattractive. That’s because ugly people can’t take themselves too seriously. As my dad used to tell me, “Son, if you can’t laugh at yourself, then you’re obviously not looking in the mirror.” Ugly is cheap and easy — I don’t mean that ugly people are cheap and easy, but that ugliness is low maintenance. When you’re ugly you don’t have to worry about trivialities such as make-up, facelifts, unibrow plucking, or brushing your teeth. Since nothing you do is really going to matter you can just let yourself go. You can acquire a tidy nest egg saving the cash you won’t be spending on toothpaste and tweezers. Ugly people are more successful — Beautiful people have everything handed to them. Ugly people, on the other hand, have to work harder to get what they want. Do you think there would be a Microsoft if Bill Gates looked like George Clooney? Would we have the iPad if Steve Jobs was as handsome as Ryan Gosling? Would we have First Thoughts if I had become a male model? Great innovations, inventions, and blog posts are always produced by some ugly geek who couldn’t get a date and had nothing better to do than improve the world. Our economy is fueled on ugly. Ugly people are the majority — Forget the Democratic, PDP, APGA and ANPP parties. Someday we ugly people will unite and become the biggest voting bloc in the country, we will take over and have all the pretty people be at our beck and call. All we need to do is organize. I figure that we should just meet up and hold our first convention at the state fair since, from the looks of the crowd, we are already congregating there anyway. Ugly is inevitable — Beauty fades but ugly is everlasting (or at least until death). If we live long enough we eventually all get ugly. Some of us fortunate ones just get there first and have time to get used to it. thanks for reading |
You may choose to forgive them and that is a valid choice too. You are the one who experiences all the consequences from your decisions so don't let anyone tell you what to do. Dig deep and do what you genuinely believe is in your best interests long term. Sometimes we can have good people in our lives who do the stupidest things and are incredible remorseful, learn the lesson and will always do the right thing by us from then on. It is rare but it can happen. Regardless of what you decide, it is crappy what they did to you and I am sorry for your pain. Make sure you take care of you first and foremost. You matter xo |
for me i think, Being unattractive Being unattractive is highly underrated. Television and the media brainwash us to think of being unattractive as a huge disadvantage one could have. Unattractive people have advantages that other people can never get for all the beauty they possess. Doors open easily for the beautiful. Unattractive people make people of substance. Unattractive people are appreciated for their personality Beautiful people never know if people like them for who they are or how they look. Actually, one couldn't say if the person actually has a personality at all, because that seems to be a small parameter in front of the what the eyes see. If you’re ugly, though, and someone agrees to go out with you, chances are it’s because they like you for who you are. Unattractive people have the assurance of being loved for who they truly are. People tend to hide the inner self beneath layers of deceit and shame due to his/her looks. Appearance is only skin deep and there really is more to life than the outside Besides, beauty fades but ugly is everlasting. If we live long enough we eventually all get ugly. Some of the fortunate ones just get there first and have time to get used to it. I am not saying that being attractive or unattractive is a boon or a curse. No, deep inside everybody secretly wants to be attractive. But being unattractive makes you realize some profound lessons of life which others require negative experiences to realize. Don't let anyone downgrade your looks and appearance, Dont be ashamed of your looks, go out there and proud yourself to the world and make a difference. Goodluck and thanks for reading...share your own biko. |
Bragging about yourself. Let other people do that.Bragging is like arsenic (poison) to a person’s likability. Prone to elaborate lying, hyper inflated stories about themselves Appointing yourself as the person who should tell others the “brutal truth” about their personal situation. Finding the downside in everything and killing others’ exuberance. Never being happy or excited for others. Arguing for no reason other than to have the last word or assert that you are smarter. Using crass language that isn’t necessary or witty. Killing conversations: Announcing your dislike of something another person just told you they love (food, fashion, literature, whatever) and not really going anywhere with it. Responding to friendly questions with one-word answers. Basically running other people out of things to say. Persistently flirting with people who have told you they’re not interested. Sulking or acting hurt when they are unresponsive or ask you to stop. Making wounded remarks. Abusing their friendship by making them feel guilty and forcing them to console you. Irresponsible and blame others (for their mistakes or bad behaviour). Prone to stealing things and cheating. Gossip. If you talk about one person behind her back, you'll talk about another. Selfishness, people who talk too much, who don’t understand empathy, who are poor listeners, who steal others ideas, cheat, or bully others. thanks for reading, feel free to add yours |
I don't know why my boss suddenly required that I work on Friday nights and Saturdays... but I have to. I promise it won't last too long." "Why do I have two cell phones? Well, one is for friends and one is for family, close friends, and business." "Why do I spend so much time with Michelle? Baby, that is my best (female) friend. I am not having sex with her. I promise." "I know it's late, but it's Friday. I just want some company. I am not necessarily just trying to get in your pants." "Baby, I don't know who that woman is who keeps calling my phone. I met her at a party once, but beyond that, I've never talked with her." "Baby, of course I'm going to marry you someday. I know we've been dating for six years, but I am going to propose to you soon." I can't live without you No one can not live without anyone. They did fine before they met you. Period. I don't care about my dick size. I care about it a lot! I have a very small ego, I will cry over it, over and over again. You look lovely as usual I have to say that even if you don't, otherwise I'll end up in useless fights 365 days later where you'll recall this very incident. It's better to lie. ''Babe, I'll call you back in two minutes'', Two minutes mean an eternity, he never said. My battery died. I couldn’t call you. LOL, thanks to the ‘Mobile is switched off’ savior line. Ratio between actual mobile getting switched off : Battery dead is 10:1. We can always do it another time.” I am never doing it, ever. Yes, the red dress is better than the blue one.” I am saying this because I want to go home. above all, I AM DIFFERENT, I AM NOT LIKE OTHER GUYS. feel free to add yours |
No. Just dont make it sex oriented. See it as a bonus. Show your other uniqueness as the primary strength, not how you thrust on bed. |
lol that reminds me,davido ft two American artists in one video. But drake is not coming closer to wizkid two videos. |
Just because you think your relationship is peachy keen does not make it so. I quite recall a good friend of mine who is in a great relationship. Part of what makes it work is that they each give each other space at times. they don't need to do everything together. they don't need to spend every waking moment together. they both like some alone time. That doesn't mean their relationship is on the rocks. And for the record: relationships do not follow a set formula. You think everything's "right on track" but there is no track. A+B=C or AB or Abba. Or 42. You can't put your relationship on a calendar or to-do list and check off each item in order. Relationships just don't work that way. well, my advice for you is to talk to him about it. And if you are really not able to. Make more male friends and ask some space for yourself, I know that is a power game, but sometimes that can be a good thing. |
A lady visited a certain dude who gave her the sum of 500 Ghana cedis(50k). Throughout her Subconsciousness, she was shocked he did not ask her for her body in return and it left her flabbergasted. How many guys can do this? When she returned home and they got chatting, he gave his reason why he did not see her as a piece of meat like other guys would. Hmmm so there are guys like this on this planet? Even after she gave him the go ahead to turn her to a booty call, he refused!!!! Hmmm what do you guys think?

Fewer/less The fact that many people don’t know the difference between “fewer” and “less” is reflected in the number of supermarket checkout aisles designated for “10 items or less”. The mistake most people make is using “less” when they actually mean “fewer”, rather than the other way round. The rules: “Fewer” refers to items you can count individually. “Less” refers to a commodity, such as sand or water, that you can’t count individually. I.e. and e.g. These two abbreviations are commonly confused, and many people use them interchangeably. However, their uses are very different. The rules: I.e. means “that is” or “in other words”. It comes from the Latin words “id est”. E.g. means “for example”. It comes from the Latin words “exempli gratia”. Only use “i.e.” and “e.g.” when writing informally. In formal documents, such as essays, it is better to write out the meanings (“for example” or “that is”). How not to do it: He liked many different cheeses, i.e. cheddar, camembert and brie. He objects to the changes – e.g. he won’t be accepting them. |
(1)Letting down others and taking a dig on someone’s physical appearance just to satisfy her already inflated ego makes a woman/ girl unattractive.A glittery face with pointed cheekbones doesn’t make a woman beautiful. Her empowering thoughts, a unique perspective, and a pure lovable heart make her distinct. Her angelic features don’t make her liable to outshine others natural presence. Wearing or not wearing a makeup is not a point but judging others on how radiant their skin appears is a matter of disgrace. It’s high time when women start supporting other women instead of burying them with shame and disgust. The world needs care and hate would only do the worse. You can tell who the beautiful women are. They are the ones you see building one another up instead of tearing each other down..!! (2)If you are talking to someone, no matter how physically (or mentally or emotionally) attractive they are, and you point something out they simply cannot or choose not to take in and give serious thought, even for just a moment, hope is lost. The most attractive quality to me, whether it be a friend or a significant other, is the ability to listen, think, seek first to understand, and then share with the hopes of being equally understood. (3)Dependency Dependency to anything, actually. Being dependent of your parents, of your partner, of your… pets? No. (4)Entitlement. Nothing is less attractive than a person that believes that they deserve something. We deserve nothing other than basic human rights and even those sometimes are difficult to achieve. (5)Nothing is as unattractive as a girl constantly complaining, constantly splurging negativity & constantly acting like a fake sophisticated brat when all she craves for is mere attention! (6)If you’re constantly staring at your phone, not paying attention to anything that’s going on around you - I’m out. I’m there to get to know you, not watch you stare at the screen all date. (7) If you’re malicious, arrogant, rude, overbearing, entitled, insecure, and so on and so forth - many people won’t find you attractive, including me. ( Flirting is fun, but if you’re manipulative, vague on purpose, and like to see others squirm - you’re just not a very nice person.(9)Being sexist against men. It's oh-so-cringeworthy and makes the good feminists look bad. Or, being homophobic, racist or islamophobic. (10)[i]Competing with other girls or women. This could be due to a lack of personal goals, as there are girls and women who have not done enough self-reflecting, assessment, or evaluation of her talents or interests. For some females, being able to purchase the latest outfits or dating a man with looks or considerable social or financial status become “trophies” to be won. feel free to add yours |
This is the most unattractive thing a girl can do (in my preference): Imagine this; You’re working 100 hours a week, grinding your ass off, and then decide to go out for an enjoyable meal on the weekend with your girl. You spend money and take incredibly important time out of your day to spend it with her. While you're trying to have an enjoyable conversation with her, she's staring down at her phone [hypnotised] scrolling through Social Media. Ignoring the sound of the waves rolling onto the beach, the birds singing their lullabies, the salmon pink clouds acting as a blanket to the city, the smell of fresh seafood with wine, and you. You try to distract her from her phone, but fail. She's glued. It doesn't take long to get pissed off and annoyed. You then come to a realisation that ‘you wouldn't be mad if she wasn't here’, and dinner would have been half price. You dump her ass. The sad thing about this reality is that the “life” she was hypnotised by on her phone, was the one she could have had. There are no “real” people in this world anymore. Guys share your own opinion on the subject matter.

quite unfortunate, the sheer level of comments on this post reeks of ignorance.must we exhibit our chesty and proud attitude on anything we come across?i see no reason for all these awful vilifications.he only needs encouragement for his music career rather yall dullards and simpletons are here chastising him gratuitously.thats lame.you don't criticise people, you criticise their actions and I don't see anything wrong with his comment.People hating for no reason, i bet if he is a Nigerian, comments will be entirely different.People thinking with their shoe size instead of their age.smh the irony of the whole thing is the same people criticising the song are the same people listening and dancing to it behind walls.silly hypocrites everywhere. |
Safiaa:lol, i am never in denial, i am very happy for her and there is no feelings other than family.nothing passionate and that is how it will forever be.its high time, you guys accept the fact that opposite gender can be best friends, purely passionless friendship. |
You want to go for movies but your partner wants to go for a dinner. You get food delivered from your favourite restaurant while you watched your partner’s favourite movie. Both of you compromise and decide to stay at home. Both of you got things done without any problems or conflict. Both of you were happier than before. This is compatibility. share your compatibility |
[quote author=Prec1ous post=61054594]And who said it is just an African thing? The Issue is, Africans are more judgemental and thus our conscience is always on overdrive and we tend to weigh our actions. The western world you are backing, do you know how often the so called friends get under the sheets? It is easier because no one is hounding them. So it's all friendship with benefits. If you have a personal convictions that it is great and works for you, goodluck! It does not seem so easy for other. You cannot and should never use logic to explain matters of the heart. Emotions are wild most times and only a few can put theirs under check. The human brain naturally veers to the mother for comfort and solace likewise the sisters. For every interaction, oxytocin, testosterone and other affection enhancing hormones are released and you have no control over this. Working betide you, if your so called female friend is motherly or can make your brain release testosterone continuously, you relationship will change direction without your consent. For this friendship to survive, 1. The girl really has to be so sexually unattractive to you and the boundaries should be well drawn with high fence. I have one like that. 2. The girl should be a benefactor and helper to you, that takes her off your food chain and your brain will put up a "don't go there" barrier. And even if you develop feelings, which you will, you can never act on it. 3. You are an eunuch or have been castrated. 4. Transgender and gay. Bottom line, the relationship can work, but time and closeness with all the physical and mental touches will mess up your mind and affection will grow. And also OP, i hate hypocrisy, wake me up when you can be cool with your partner having male friends aside you. Since you can't, take this.... this is ridiculous, very opinionated and biased. my best friend is a girl. a splendiferous type,of highest class.i mean very attractive. We have been besties for over 6 years now and we have never felt such passion towards each other.before she accepts her boyfriend, i gave her the consent and yes sometimes, we feel jealous, but that is cos we love each other like family and we don't wanna see each other get hurt.i am still single and straight guy, i am not sexually repulsive and I am very happy with her. it's been 6 years now and counting and we still depend on each other and she values our friendship more than her relationship...check her out and tell me if she aint attractive. |
lilmax:lol, this is absurd, utter balderdash, i am a very comfortable working-class dude and my best friend is a girl.SHE IS ONE OF THE BEST PEOPLE IVE MET SO U SEXIST PERSON LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE WITH UR STEREOTYPICAL ATTITUDES TOWARD FRIENDSHIP.i may be single still but she is in a loving relationship, in fact, i gave her the consent to accept the dudes request, we have been best friends since our first degree and right through our masters program together and still on.We help each other through hard times, we swim together and sleeps together in the same bed even and there is never a time we feel passion towards another despite loving each other like madt.We act stupid around each other, we tell secrets, we know everything about each other. We may get jealous, but that is only because we care and we don't want each other getting hurt. What is wrong with falling in love with your best friend that's a girl NOTHING it just means you will be by his side until the end even if he gets his own boyfriend you will support him. You won't hold higher standards you just want someone like her to understand you know your deepest secrets to stay by you.iam very happy she is dating and i am certainly cool with it, till today she still confides me. |
I understand the social and emotional pressures of being fat, but trust me, what you need right now is spend time building character, discovering your talents and passions, and finding out what kind of person you want to be. Don't concern yourself with trying to be attractive or what others think.believe you me, You are a unique and wonderful person, not your dress size, not your pant size, not your hair, or your eyes or what other people say about you. It isn’t easy, but embrace you and tell everyone else that if they don’t like how you look they should close their eyes. if that is not enough, you Probably work on losing some weight. Before doing that though take a good look at yourself naked in the mirror and honestly answer whether someone else should find you attractive. If they should then work on increasing your self-esteem and more importantly always remember that what matters most to guys like me is personality over looks and one should always know that looks fade but people always remain the same and never really fade away. you will definitely find someone you will capture his heart with your awkwardness.Goodluck |
When you see a girl and a boy out in the public, what is the first thought that comes to your mind? - They are in a relationship. If you say they are wrong, what is the second thought? - They are siblings. If you say they are wrong again, they would call you a liar and walk away. But, do they ever think of a third option? Do they ever think they could be best friends or just friends? Most of us don’t. Because that is something which the society ceases to consider, not just the society but our African mentality. Every time you ask a girl about her best friend, knowingly or unknowingly, she uses feminine pronouns and every time we ask a guy about his best friend, we end up using masculine pronouns. This is because we don’t even consider the possibility of someone having a best friend from the opposite gender. And if a girl admits that her best friend is a boy or that she is very good friends with a guy, all hell breaks loose...she will be seen as a slut, incessant judging will start.that's sheer ignorance and very gross. The same thing with when a dude has female bestie or lots of female platonic friends, he will be seen as a Casanova or fuckboy.what a pity: FRIEND is a gender-neutral word and it should be kept that way.Friendship is a relation which should be transparent from both the sides. .A relationship might just end someday. but real friendship Won't.Friendship is more valuable than anything in this world As human beings, we usually have a tendency to create romantic projections of every equation shared by two individuals. We tend to talk about love in a romantic or sexual context. I Disagree, Friendship can turn into love but it doesn't mean that a guy and girl will always end up in love.Love is a choice a person makes, that they act upon. Love doesn’t discriminate and has nothing to do with gender. Love can be sexual or can be platonic in friendship regardless of gender. There is something special about a boy, girl friendship. You share almost everything between each other, you laugh, cry, tease, smile, play pranks, study, travel, eat and do everything imaginable.I guess what makes a girl-boy best friends relationship so strong is that there's so less drama in sharing thoughts, more practicality in decisions, lesser chances of being driven away like an emotional fool. One can have a best friend who stands by them in times of trouble, like a brother, or a best friend who asks them to work towards their goals, like a caring father, or a best friend who scolds when they make mistakes in life, like a teacher. Maybe all these traits exist in one person, a girl or boy, I don’t think it makes a difference.it's all about the mindset. You change that, you will see friendship blooming all around you! And, by the way, isn't the bond of best friends a form of love itself?I do not see any reason why someone can’t have a best friend from the opposite gender.they can love each other immensely but not in a quintessential lovey-dovey kind of way.I think if you're very clear on defining that this is strictly platonic relationship you can develop a healthy, long-lasting friendship that is really worthwhile. Conclusions: Friendship is far better than relationship. Relationship leads to many responsibilities. Friendship doesn't have boundaries and time limit cos there are certain things you tell your best friend but you cant tell your partner. It's probably the best thing to have a girl as your best friend. Having a female or male bestie, you might not need to pretend anything for the girl or the boy. you could be completely yourself but your girlfriend or boyfriend, you might need to change yourself completely. To me, gender just isn't an issue when choosing best friends. I'm more concerned about the kind of person they are and that we share lots in common. Air your own opinion on the subject matter, please. |
Everyone knows what it’s like to be loved imperfectly—and, if we’re honest, what it’s like to love someone else imperfectly. Believers ought to be perpetually grateful that God’s love for us isn’t conditional, and that He loved us even while we rejected Him (Romans 5: ![]() when Paul penned the instruction for husbands to love their wives “just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25), he was not speaking about God’s love in vague terms. His original audience understood that he was not telling husbands to love their wives if the wives deserved it, or if the husbands felt like it. SACRIFICIAL LOVE A husband who is unwilling to sacrifice for his wife does not even know what true love is. Those who regard their wives as servants under their sovereign headship haven’t begun to appreciate the true biblical pattern for marriage and family. Selfish husbands, therefore, will never know what it is to have a fulfilled marriage and family. True happiness in marriage is possible only to those who follow the divine pattern.your wife is not the servant in your house, you both are one but you are the leader. Properly understood, Ephesians 5:25 demands that the husband die to self. In effect, he is called to crucify himself for the sake of his wife. It’s not talking about some petty sacrifice, such as helping with the dishes now and then. It means the husband must devote his entire life—and quite literally even be willing to die—for the good of his wife. The man who is concerned only with getting what he can from marriage is sowing the seeds of destruction in his family. To love your wife as Christ loved the church is to be preoccupied with what you can do for her, not vice versa. After all, Christ loves us not for selfish gain, but because He is a gracious Lord who delights to bestow His favour on us. PROTECTIVE LOVE The love of a godly man for his wife is not only sacrificial, it also safeguards her purity. Paul said Christ’s sacrifice for the church had this ultimate object in mind: to sanctify and cleanse her “that she would be holy and blameless” (Ephesians 5:26–27). Her purity was His primary concern. Likewise, in marriage, it is every husband’s solemn duty to guard his wife’s purity. No one would ever deliberately defile someone he really loves. How could a loving husband ever delight in something that compromises the purity of the one he loves? On the contrary, the husband who loves his wife as Christ loves the church will naturally hate anything that defiles her. He will guard her against anything and everything that might dishonour her, degrade her, demean her, or tempt her to sin. He will never knowingly lead her into any kind of sin, but protect her against any threat to her virtue. He won’t deliberately provoke or exasperate her so that she succumbs to anger or any other temptation. And he himself will be an example of purity, knowing that whatever defiles him will ultimately defile her too. CARING LOVE Genuine love also involves tender care, and Paul expressed that idea this way: “Husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies” (Ephesians 5:28). We take care of our bodies constantly—giving them whatever food, clothing, comfort, recreation, relaxation, or rest they need. We’re attentive to our own bodies, concerned with their needs, sensitive and responsive to whatever they desire. The husband shouldn't subject their wives too much suffering. You don't test your wife if you really love her genuinely. That is the kind of love Paul commanded husbands to show their wives. Notice, once again, Scripture is not describing love only as an emotion. This sort of love is active, voluntary, dynamic—something we do, not something we passively “feel.”It’s only reasonable that a man would love his wife the way he loves his own body, because in marriage, “the two . . . become one flesh” (Ephesians 5:31). That is the way God designed marriage. Paul was actually quoting from Genesis 2:24, which describes how God first ordained marriage itself. It applies universally and it has been true from the beginning. Husbands ought to love their wives with the same care they give to their own bodies because, after all, the two are one flesh. ENDURING LOVE Since the husband’s love for his wife pictures Christ’s love for the church, it must also be the kind of love that outlasts every trial and overcomes every obstacle. When Christ was questioned about divorce, Every marriage is consummated in an earthly sense by a physical union: “The two shall become one flesh.” Children conceived by that union will literally bear the genetic pattern of two people who have become one flesh. But marriage also involves a spiritual union. God is the one who joins husband and wife together. Marriage is the union of two souls knitted together in every aspect of life. Their emotions, intellects, personalities, desires, and life goals are inextricably bound together.Naturally, then, God also designed marriage to be a permanent union, unbroken and uncorrupted. The biblical terminology of Ephesians 5:31 stresses the permanence of the marriage union: “A man shall leave his father and mother and shall be joined to his wife.”. It describes a permanent, unbreakable bond. That is an apt description of God’s ideal for marriage. It’s a union held together by lasting love that absolutely refuses to let go. What higher motive could there be for a husband to love his wife? By loving her as Christ loved the church, he honours Christ in the most direct and graphic way. He becomes the embodiment of Christ’s love to his own wife, a living example to the rest of his family, a channel of blessing to his entire household, and a powerful testimony to a watching world. thanks for reading...we ain't perfect. What a huge challenge for us men. May God help us in achieving this Godly purpose.Amen |
Winning the Unbelieving Husband. To begin with, the godly woman has a full-time ministry to the unbelievers in her home—particularly an unbelieving husband. The apostle Peter said it like this: Wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behaviour of their wives, as they observe your chaste and respectful behaviour. (1 Peter 3:1–2). Pastors and counsellors commonly hear women protest against this principle. “Look, you don’t know my husband. He refuses to obey God. He is not a Christian. How can I submit to such a man?” But that type of situation is precisely what Peter was dealing with: “Even if any of them are disobedient to the word,” submit anyway. There is no exemption for wives who are married to unbelieving husbands. In fact, far from making such wives an exception to the rule, Peter used them as an example of what godly submission can accomplish in a marriage. The submissive wife may be God’s chosen means for winning an unbelieving husband. A believing wife by her submission can have a more powerful influence on her unbelieving husband than she ever will by nagging or sermonizing.By her conduct, Peter said, she may win him to Christ “without a word” (1 Peter 3:1). What kind of conduct? “Chaste and respectful behaviour” (1 Peter 3:2). The purity of life coupled with deep respect (a kind of reverential “fear”) for the husband: that is how a godly wife shows submission. Displaying Godly Beauty Notice also the corollary: “Your adornment must not be merely external-braiding the hair and wearing gold jewellery, or putting on dresses” (1 Peter 3:3). Peter’s words could not be more timely today. Women shaped by contemporary society’s values tend to be obsessed with external adornment. But Peter said that is not where a woman’s priorities should be focused (Paul said something similar in 1 Timothy 2:9–10). Don’t misunderstand what this means. The apostles were not completely forbidding jewellery, stylish hair, or other feminine adornments; they were simply saying those things are not what is most important. The way a woman looks is not the measure of her true beauty, and attempts to call everyone’s attention to the way she looks is actually showing a lack of submission to her own husband. Instead, Peter said, women first of all need to cultivate inner beauty. They should be primarily concerned with “the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God” (1 Peter 3:4). It’s hard to imagine anything Peter might have said that would be more out of step with twenty-first-century notions of political correctness! He was saying that women ought to be gentle and quiet and submissive, not loud and boisterous and pushy. They ought to be concerned with their own character, and not with the world’s fashion. In other words, the real attractiveness of a godly woman—and her true strength—is that she is supportive of her husband and submissive to him, and she shows that submission through gentleness and serene stillness. That may not play well in a feminist culture, but it is what the Bible says. Holiness Through Submission Peter certainly wasn’t teaching that women must blindly follow everything their husbands say—as if they could never offer a contrary opinion or think for themselves. But he was suggesting that a godly woman will seek to “win” her husband by quiet, gentle, respectful means—not by rebelling against him or by trying to take over his place as head of the family. Peter then set all of this in a biblical and historical perspective: For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands; just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear. (1 Peter 3:5–6) Peter was not making any new rule. And regardless of what modern notions of political correctness might suggest, these aren’t outmoded principles, either. Holiness is what godly women have always been most concerned with. Overseeing the Home Notice, by the way, that all the woman’s biblical priorities are centered in the family and the home: “to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands” (Titus 2:4–5). The starting point is love—the woman’s love for her own husband and children. And she expresses that love in her virtue and her self-sacrifice, chiefly in the arena of her own family home. The home is where the truly godly woman flourishes. It’s where she finds her greatest joy. And it’s where she has her most important influence. All of that is wrapped up in what Paul meant when he urged wives to be subject to their own husbands (Ephesians 5:22). Teaching in a Vital Role Women who fulfill God’s high calling in submission to their husbands also become qualified for a vital teaching ministry. Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. (Titus 2:3–5) The expression “older women” refers to mature women—not necessarily elderly women, but veteran wives and mothers who are already experienced at raising families and keeping a household in order. The duties Paul gave them are simple and straightforward. They are to be women of holy character (“reverent in their behaviour, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine”). And they are to be teachers (“teaching what is good”). Whom are they to teach? Younger women. What are they to teach? Paul listed a series of simple duties for wives. This section of Titus gives a beautiful pattern for women seeking a ministry where they can put their gifts to the best use. Older women should teach younger women the skills and disciplines needed to have a successful home and marriage. Experienced wives and mothers will find their greatest avenue of ministry in teaching younger wives what they need to know to be effective wives, mothers, and homemakers. |
i am answering this question as a woman...I would love to say Yes but I can't convince myself. So my answer is No. I cannot convince myself that a man truly loves me if he cheats on me. Sure, people cheat for many reasons. Moment of folly, peer pressure, too much booze, stress, unhappiness in the current relationship and what not. But whatever the reason, it is not good enough. It is just not good enough to justify cheating . A relationship is build on love, trust & respect . When two people are in a relationship, it is important to guard the hearts. We live in a world of temptations. There will be people better, smarter, better looking than our partners but we don't go round 'falling in love' with whoever pleases our eyes or hearts . If I truly love a man, I will never hurt him and I expect him to do likewise. If either of us ever cheats, then I know that we most probably have fallen out of love and it's time to move on. I never believe in love after cheating. Do you believe that someone who slashes you with a knife don't mean to see you bleed? That they don't know that the action can hurt and that they don't mean to cause any pain? Who are we kidding? |
and this gibberish made homepage.smh..may python dance fall on these moderators. |
Every sane person has pride. Because of this, they're afraid to blame themselves for anything. It would make them appear flawed. Sometimes, there's obviously no other human being that could have done it, so they blame Satan. "I did that. It's my fault, I made a mistake. For that, I am sorry." Once you can say this, you are a true man. |
if rational arguments worked on religious people there would be no religion |
I'm religious and I blame very few if anything on the devil. Most things i blame them on man's imperfection and evil.It is simple.Evil exists because people do not exert the effort to be good. Rather than admit the fault is theirs, they blame it on a Boogey Man or convenient supernatural being. It sure beats cleaning up one's own act. Blame it on something or someone else. The Devil made me do it. The Dog ate my homework |
PRONS (1) Nice simple setup (2)Getting lots of information on a single platform.Nairaland also enables you to hear about real-life events and gatherings you might otherwise miss if you weren't on the social network. (3)You can actually get some good friends(unknown to you before) because you know their belief, intellect, likes, and interests by their post, comments, demeanor to other peeps and not pics. (4)You get to learn something new every day, especially in the health, family, religion, education, food, agriculture, programming, and career section. (5)The Democratic way of sharing opinions on current events especially the politics section. (6)Unlearning many things (7)To dispel mistrusts, misunderstandings and stereotypical generalizations ( A good hub of news: sports update,friends-family update, Job/vacancies, promoting business + promoting personal thoughts-opinion, personal brand development, business etc.(9)One of the best way to pass avoidable boring times (10)You don't get to send a friend request for someone because he/she is beautiful CONS (1)Some people use it like Facebook to spread their hatred and ignorance. (2)Sometimes popularity triumphs over the best and educative posts in terms of making front page (3)A debate among two sociopaths is similar to a debate among two idiots, the only difference they both will point you to a specific research/study/evidence/fact. (4)User interface is a little annoying. (5)There are occasions when there is political bashing of one group over another. (6)Fake people and ID can stalk you and get your personal details by using Nairaland (7)People post and comment nonsense especially on romance section. ( People insult others and their parents instead of their post and comments which is lame and shows how immature, dumb and disrespectful they are.(9)The popularity rule here. A post concerning general opinion doesn’t seem complete unless a popular figure has his or her comments at the top with thousands of likes. This basically means that Nairaland is useless in portraying general opinion on controversial issues, and usually portrays the opinion of the popular figures.smh (10)Cyberbullying is a common practice on Nairaland much like Facebook (11)Fake profile is one of the biggest disadvantages of using Nairaland. Now it is easy to use fake profile from the stolen pictures. People often use fake profile to insult or harass someone they don’t like. (12)Sometimes a good post can go indefinitely without being attended, while other meaningless posts can have truckloads of comments and likes, to the point of being overwhelming especially post relating to love, sex, romance and most notably bashing of both genders especially Ladies. (13)All advice might not work for you especially on the Romance section. (14)In spite of the gender equality most people talk about, you get accepted and followers(more chances) when you are with a female profile. (15)You literally get curious for views, comments, and likes and once you post, you get the tendency for peeping infrequently to get yourself updated. (16)it is providing a different dimension to 'how to be social' .the term social is more or less related to the society and the problems we are facing there and also the true happiness and interactive session we share but what it is happening nowadays is that we are spending much of our time on these sites in seeking popularity, insulting people, commenting and sharing useless uneffective contents and waiting for likes and comment . In fact, the physical interaction and talks that we do which are more effective and represent our true nature and identity is somehow lost. (17 Nairaland will create Ego Finally, There are innumerable positives about social networking, agreed. Nairaland is the neoteric newspaper- brimming with information and the ability to share information, discuss and debate on varied topics makes it a boon, worth than attaining the holy grail. The bottom line is that at one point of time, in order to expand the social circle, we are adumbratively losing that individuality, that USP of one's self, that idiosyncrasy to something that is superficial and non-existent. There are many vital F-words that are necessary for survival and Nairaland isn't one. feel free to add your own pron and cons. thanks |

[b]Even the best relationships won't last if the sex sucks [b]None of us are perfect. I’m not and you’re not. So let’s get over ourselves, admit our flaws, and make a commitment to try to be better. [b]If you both truly love and care about each other, you’ll each want to give more than you receive. On the other hand, when the ratio of give to take is perpetually unbalanced, it’s time to re-evaluate the health of the relationship. Don’t Make Assumptions.” When you communicate clearly with each other you avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. When you assume, you make an ass out of… well, you know. Usually, it's not that big of a deal. First, to address the inevitable "smart people are weird" answers: it's easy to try to handicap people by giving them a stereotypical malady like "socially awkward" or "can't relate". It's not true. When I was in my first degree, the socially awkward goths always tried to position themselves as really interesting and intelligent. Nope, you just have a different lifestyle and clothes. So do Eskimos. If you're awkward around people, that's because you're awkward. It has little to do with your intelligence. With respect to social awkwardness, I've simply applied my brainpower to studying behavior and body language. I'm also naturally intuitive, so that helps me understand people as well. But it's more dependent on that intuitiveness and a willingness to learn how people work than on your intelligence. It's orthogonal, or at most loosely correlated to intelligence. |
Flirting is fun, but if you’re manipulative, vague on purpose, and like to see others squirm - you’re just not a very nice person.
