There is no way one can avoid buying Aba made shirt, in Aba there are many good tailors and some bad ones too. If you are buying a shirt check whether the shirt is well made and the material.
FashionRe: Are T.M.Lewin Shirts Really Made In Aba?? by vanunu: 5:01pm On Jul 12, 2012
70% of shirts in the Nigerian market today are made in Aba, Aba has finally displaced China in the Nigerian market. If you go to Kents in Aba there is no shirt material in this world that you will not find there.

For those who don't know, Rochas has already established a standard Technical college located at the old Imo newspaper complex. The place is completely renovated and looks beautiful, though I don't know the equipment that is inside. The head of the college is a white man.

PoliticsRe: Best Governor And Fastest Developing States In Nigeria? by vanunu: 10:01am On May 25, 2012
Rochas in less than one year is constructing not less than 1000 roads, Though I doubt whether he will be able to finish them. Perhaps, his most astounding achievement so far is the reduction in the govt. running cost, this is what sets him apart from other governors. Also he is paying the highest minimum wage in the country.
PoliticsRe: 19 Northern Governors Defend Buhari's Comments by vanunu: 4:37pm On May 18, 2012
Buhari participated in the world's second most horrible genocidal war, therefore you don't expect such a man to say otherwise. Blood has entered his eyes, that is why he is always talking of blood all the time, whithout knowing that decent people don't spill blood or talk recklessly. It is a big shame that some people who call
themselves human beings are hailing Buhari for his boody incitement. When he was the Head of state of Nigeria after a bloody military coup, he was so dumb and did not know how to talk or take decision, it was his second in-command that took the shine. Time will tell. GEJ still remains the most democratic President Nigeria has ever had. Nothing de happen.
PoliticsRe: TY Danjuma - Nigeria Is On Fire by vanunu: 1:54pm On May 02, 2012
Is this the T .Y. Danjuma that killed Ironsi?. In 1966, when the Northerners killed 100,000 Igbos, this man participated, He looked the other way while Igbos were killed. Think of it , 100,000 mainly innocent women and children, of Igbo ethnic group killed within 6 months
Even Boko Haram have not killed up to 2 percent of that. Nemesis don catch up with Nigeria.
Why didn't Nigerians condemn the killings then. In the whole of nothern nigeria then, no single person came out and spoke against the killing of Igbos then.

God is watching Nigeria , No shaking.

God is not a fool. If you commit crime against a people you should apologize, but if you don,t, God must surely punish you in one way or the other, you cannot cause the death of 2 million people, and expect things to be normal, things don,t work that way.

I am very sorry for Nigeria.

EducationRe: Imo State To Establish Three New Universities by vanunu: 8:44am On Feb 17, 2012
Imo really needs new universities, but not three at once.
The present 4 level mass communication class in Imo state university has 600 students, and the same applies to other departments and levels. A survey recently carried out in Imo revealed that 98% of secondary school students want to enter the university, perhaps that explains why Imo state has maintained 10% to 12% of Jamb candidates for more than 20years now.
EducationRe: IMSU VC Okays Relocation Of Imo State University by vanunu: 7:06pm On Feb 05, 2012
The Governor is simply playing sectional politics with IMSU and it is very unfair, There is absulutely nothing wrong with the present site where Imsu is located. More so what Imo state needs is simply another state university, as Imo has no private university.
About 10% of jamb candidates every year are from Imo state, and these has put so much pressure on Imo state University, many candidates seeking admission into Imsu score above 300 in PostUme and are denied admission. Rochas should simply establish another state University, he should put the interest of the youths into consideration.
PoliticsRe: Borno Elders Warn Jonathan On Security Pact With Us by vanunu: 10:39am On Jan 25, 2012
Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno is a terrorist mastermind, he has always being against any attack on BOKO HARAM. See his comments on boko haram before:

Borno Elders Forum, led by Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno: “The soldiers have been burning down cars, killing innocent passers-by, looting private property, harassing innocent passerby and even raping young girls…The presence of thousands of weapons brandishing soldiers on the streets of Maiduguri has turned the situation into a nightmare, the worst Maiduguri has ever seen”.

“Hundreds of youths have been shot and killed by soldiers for no known reason other than they are young people. Many communities have been sacked and people in their thousands are fleeing Maiduguri and the level of human suffering in Maiduguri has reached its peak and Borno is faced with horrific and horrendous humanitarian crisis”.

Borno Elders Forum, led by Alhaji Shettima Ali Monguno: “Borno elders have demanded the immediate withdrawal of all soldiers on the streets of Maiduguri because the soldiers have been burning down houses, killing innocent people and looting private property”

Prominent citizens of violence plagued Borno State, under the aegis of the Borno Elders Forum, have called on President Goodluck Jonathan to order the immediate withdrawal of troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) from the streets of Maiduguri.

The elders, including retired top military officers, said that peace has remained a mirage following the military’s intervention in order to quell the Boko Haram insurgency.

The forum said in a statement after a meeting in Maiduguri on Tuesday that the presence of the military has not improved the security situation in the State but alleged that it has subjected the indigenes to untold hardship which has resulted in the mass exodus of people from Maiduguri.

The JTF in the State has however denied the claim, saying soldiers were not engaged in excesses in trying to put down the insurgency.

The forum’s statement was signed by former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Marshal Al-Amin Daggash (rtd), elder statesman Shettima Ali Monguno, the Imam Idaini of Borno Imam Baba GanaAsil, Alhaji Garba Abba Satomi, Alhaji Bukar Bolori, Alhaji Usman Gaji Galtimari, Alhaji Kyari Sandabe, Brigadier General Abba Kyari (rtd) and Shettima Ali Kidaji. Other signatories were Ambassador Ahmed Yusufari, AIG Zanna Laminu Mamadi, AIG Muktar Alkali, Alhaji Tijjani Bolori, Alhaji Bulama Mali Gubio, Alhaji Umar Abba Shuwa, Alhaji Ibrahim El-Zubairu, Mallam Ibrahim Mustapha and Alhaji Gambo Gubio.

The forum regretted that since the commencement of the current conflict in Maiduguri, the situation has been deteriorating.

The elders said military intervention was not the best option for the problem in Maiduguri. “The soldiers have been burning down cars, killing innocent passersby, looting private property, harassing innocent passerby and even rapping young girls.”
They alleged that “the presence of thousands of weapons brandishing soldiers on the streets of Maiduguri has turned the situation into a nightmare, the worst Maiduguri has ever seen. Hundreds of youths have been shot and killed by soldiers for no known reason other than they are young people. Many communities have been sacked and people in their thousands are fleeing Maiduguri and the level of human suffering in Maiduguri has reached its peak and Borno is faced with horrific and horrendous humanitarian crisis.”

They therefore demanded for “immediate withdrawal of all soldiers on the streets of Maiduguri”.

They also called for the immediate rescue of fleeing people and their return to their houses as well as immediate provision of relief materials to the affected victims.

The statement also appealed to members of the Boko Haram whom they referred to as “Yaanaa” (Friends) to “please see the current human suffering of fellow Muslims and look for alternative ways of pursuing their demand. The Yaana should consider the general populace who are their brothers and sisters and do everything within their powers to ensure their safety.”

They also called on government to as a matter of urgency engage the sect members in “honest and positive dialogue since they have already presented their demands.”The statement further said, “Government agencies and senior government officials should desist from making inflammatory remarks over the current situation.”

However, Spokesman of the JTF, Col Victor Ebhaleme debunked the claims that soldiers in Maiduguri were targeting law abiding members of the public.

Col Ebhaleme described the claims as “baseless and uncalled for”, adding that at a moment when the state is facing serious security challenges, the army will never act in anyway against the peace of the state. He then blamed members of Boko Haram for planting explosives at residential areas which damage houses and vehicles of law abiding civilians.

The JTF also called on the public to disregard as rumors of impending attacks by the sect members and desist from leaving town, stating that the peddlers and their sympathizers are resorting to rumour mongering in order to instil fear in the people.

According to him, “the public is assured of security and should go about their normal businesses as those leaving town are motorcycle owners in search of livelihood as a result of the ban [on motorcycle operations] by the Borno state government.”

The JTF spokesman added that soldiers have killed three suspected members of the Boko Haram sect who threw a bomb at troops on Tuesday. He added that two soldiers sustained injuries during a gun battle shortly after the attack.

On its part, Borno State Government yesterday called on residents of the state to stop “panic migration from the state” and assured that serious steps are being taken to restore peace and order.

A statement signed by secretary to the state government Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda said, “Government appeals to all residents within Maiduguri and Jere not to flee from their homes as security agents have been advised to conduct their operations with a human face and respect for the rights of the citizen of the state.”

“We assure the good people of Borno state that government is not unmindful of the current hardship being experienced by the general public as a result of the recent ban on Achaba operation. However, government would soon distribute tricycles and buses as palliative measures to ease the current hardship,” the statement said.

The statement advised parents to monitor the movements of their children with a view to ensure that they do not mingle with unknown persons.

PoliticsRe: GEJ Visits Kano To Sympathise With Boko Haram Attack Victims by vanunu: 10:00am On Jan 23, 2012
Most people in this forum are totally ignorant, they don't understand what terrorism means, they think that terrorists are ordinary area-boys that can be flogged by the corrupt and incompetent Nigerian police force. These are people that are well trained in the act of terrorism, some of them have been trained in Iran, Somali and Yemen and they operate in cells.

Remember the Americans and some European countries have been in Afghanistan for so many years and they have not been able to defeat the Talibans. Just last week, some french soldiers were killed by an Afghan soldier, who incidentally is a Taliban but was in the Afghan army.

So my brothers, stop the insult on GEJ, it is childish and irresponsible.
PoliticsRe: State House Press Release On Kano Boko Haram Attack by vanunu: 8:03am On Jan 22, 2012
President Obasanjo is the cause of all these, he allowed sharia in the northern states. He should have studied the history of Islamic law in other African countries like Sudan Somalia, Egypt and Algeria, He should have known that you don,t just give Islamic law a space in a secular society. He forgot that the goal of every so-called good Muslim is to be governed by Islamic Law

You people should stop blaming Goodluck, there is nothing he can do anymore, at this point, other than to give them there own Islamic Republic. I pity Christians and moderate Muslims in the North.

Have Nigerians bothered to ask themselves why NLC and TUC did not protest when the pump price of diesel was increased many years ago, despite the cry by industrialists, heavy-duty truck owners and luxury bus drivers. Do you people know that many luxury bus companies have collapsed because they could not compete with small buses (Hummer buses) using same for long distance travel.

The NLC and TUC are part of the corrupt system, are some of them not the Nigerian civil servants that we know today, are they not corrupt? They should shut up. Why is it that all these while they have not spoken against corruption and the perennial killing of Igbos and other Nigerians
in the Northern part of the country. Are they not part of the Ghana-must -go syndrome.

PoliticsRe: 6 Oil Marketers In Trouble For Funding Fuel Riots by vanunu: 1:37pm On Jan 05, 2012
You people should ask why those that were given license to build refinery have not started, many years since the license were approved.   The people that are asking Nigerian government to build refinery are totally ignorant of how government businesses are run in Nigeria. what will it benefit Nigerians if government takes $4 billion to build refinery, only for that same refinery to last for only one year. People should reason, it is only the private sector that can build and manage refineries effectively in Nigeria, and time is now right for them to do that.
