baba,one engine can not fly a boeing 747 or an airbus A380 from lagos to miami.... think well. how do you expect only one engine to produce thrust for an aircraft weighing thousand of tones with passenger on board.
one engine can only work for about 45mins which in turns give the pilot an opportunity/time to look for the nearest airport to land.
