longetivity: One thing I hate about those men in uniform is DICTATORSHIP. they are the best in ensuring social welfare Only constructive dictatorship can work in Africa, not democracy. We can only share the democracy name for acceptability and international approval, just like North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea, DPRK) Remember Muammar Gaddafi, his leadership style is in tandem with the nature of the African man. Imagine having a semi-mad dictator with good intentions and reformistic agenda. Even the west would not allow such a one to smell power to protect their economic interest in Africa. |

If the FG will allow State governments to exploit their natural resources and only remit a little fraction to Abuja then we can begin to blame the state governments for corruption and stagnation and poverty and underdevelopement.
For instance, Lagos State generates billions in taxes everyday and most of it goes to Abuja to redistribute to redundant states, which always rely on Abuja for everything.

This administration is not doing very well and it's obvious when you compare it to previous administrations.
It's even more glaring looking at it from the point of view of the OP when she asked, what can 5 naira buy for you now? the answer is nothing. and that's not good enough sir. Things are much worse than they were in terms of cost of living and living standard than in the last administration, I totally agree. However, it's difficult for me to entirely believe that the economic condition in which we lived when the last administration left would be sustained till now if they had not been forced to relinquish power. I guess we can only make assumptions based on certain parameters sir. |

If he knows what roles some women's earning is playing to support their husbands he will think otherwise Former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno's benefactor, would be in total disagreement on this assertion for the very reason that his wife was wiser than the ladies who have this Reno's mentality. She was said to have assisted her husband even in academic sponsorship up to PhD level. When the husband became the number 1 citizen, see the enjoyment the former first lady swam in. If you can't invest in your husband, who else will you invest in? Isn't it clear that he'll feel indebted to her forever once he hammers and demonstrate it? Is there any successful man today who wasn't assisted by one woman or the other before he made it? Why shouldn't that 'investor' be the wife? |

There is nothing evil that our political office holders do in positions of power that the masses don't do to one another. They inevitably portray or demonstrate who we are collectively as a people. When we begin to love one another, our love for God will matter and He will no longer punish us with bad leadership. |

hakeem4: I remember when I was young and I used to be very excited to go to church. (Forget my name is Hakeem, I’ve never been a Muslim before). But as I grew up and read the Bible myself, I found out that the Old Testament god is the most Vile and wicked character in all fictional characters ever created. He is petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.
Also the the evil of the New Testament exceeds that of the old one You're not the one talking. The real you (your spirit man) knows the Truth. Whether we believe/reverence/love/fear/respect/misunderstand/disbelieve/despise Him or not, He will always and unquestionably remain The Almighty God; The Most High; The Beginningless and The Endless God. Christianity Etc › Re: Is Listening To Secular Music or Watching Movie Bad For A Christian? by WaleRock: 3:24pm On Aug 16, 2020 |
Kalatium: Yesterday i got into a heated debate with an acquaintance. He was of the opinion that listening to secular music and movies is bad for a christian. I on the other hand was countering him. Although i know that there are music or movies especially that one should avoid but i opine that it is not enough to ride all secular music and movies off.
I have learn alot especially from secular movies both as a form of entertainment and educationally and just because some movies are bad doesn’t mean i should stop watching movies.
As for the music aspect, although i listen to alot of gospel but i also listen to secular from time to time. I told the guy that what about Tasha Cobbs a gospel singer who featured Nicki Minaj in "I'm getting ready" or Jeremiah Gyang featuring M.I. in "Kaunar Na Allah". The songs are great and are still gospel.
The guy argued that they have backslided. They should never associate themselves with secular musicians.
We argued for like an hour until we get tired.
So i will like see your own point of view. Is listening to secular music/movie bad for a Christian? Every song is inspired either by the Holy Spirit or demons. The Spirit/spirit behind every song follows the song as a vehicle through which to increase His/it's host or vessel. The spiritual controls the physical. It's difficult to quit listening to secular songs if one is addicted. So ask God to help you as you make efforts to start replacing them with songs inspired by the Holy Spirit. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Can God Blame Me For Not Telling A Church Member What God Told Me As A Pastor? by WaleRock: 3:14pm On Aug 16, 2020 |
Beosten: Let me start from here: I have what it takes to be a pastor and I had numerous visions that confirmed my calling. But I have a disability, and I refused to go into pastoral ministry since 2005. I came into the full-time ministry a few months ago. I came into the ministry because it seemed God was the one punishing me for refusing to do the needful.
Then a church member came to me for blessing saying that her child already procured visa to travel out. That was before covid19 break. I prayed for the child. But God revealed to me in a vision at night that the child should not leave Nigeria, and that it will end in tears. I didn't tell them anything about the vision and the child left Nigeria.
The child has just been deported and a lot of money down the drain.
How should a pastor handle this kind of thing without offending those looking for counseling? I will pray for forgiveness, but can God hold me accountable for this error? The Holy Spirit is in the best position to answer your question. Please, approach him. |

MrOjay1: Last friday evening, my friend in the hood called me on phone to inform me of a job opening in an ongoing construction site somewhere around Agbara (Lagos).
He told me the pay is 2,300 per day depending on if you were able to finish the day's job.
I told him i was interested (no choice for a broke man) and asked him when we are to leave for the place. He said we'll leave for Agbara the next day early in the morning to get there on time and start with others.
'No wahala', I said.
We set off the next morning and got there before 7 or thereabouts. When the supervisor saw me said, 'oboy as you dey lenge lenge (slim) like this, you sure say you go fit do this kind work so??'
I told him i could. Shey no be my mates dey do am?
I started the work which was carrying mixed concrete and sand up into the second floor of the building.
The work no easy o. I wan die true to God but i just chinned up and continued. I worked like this till afternoon.
My body was telling me to stop but i continued being that i wanted my full pay for the day then something happened.
As i was climbing up the scaffolded stairs, my limbs had become weak and my eyes dazed, i had no energy left again to climb up to the second floor so while trying to muster up energy as i climbed, I mis-stepped my footings and was about falling off the stairs down to the ground laden with bamboo, nails, stones and co far below but was saved by the hand of another worker coming up the stairs behind me. He had already noticed my fatigue and signs of faint feeling.
My headpan had already crashed down the ground.
I wonder what would have happened to me. Probably would have died.
The supervisor heard of it and was furious, lambasting me saying,' shebi i tell you say you no fit do this work? Na so you for put me for trouble.Oya dey go house now now, he said as he put his hands in his pocket and brought out 1400 as my payment.
I protested and demanded my full payment but he wasn't listening and was threatening to call the police.
I left the place, went home and used half the money to treat the sprain and pains i was feeling all over my body. May the will of God concerning you come to pass. May you fulfill destiny. Please, hang in there. Keep praying; remain faithful, honest, and self-disciplined, ... Your future is brighter than you can imagine. It's only a matter of little time. Blessings! |
