Still, the girl did bad. Very sad.

The guy was on waiting list.

I pity guys who quarrel or keep malice with their girlfriends.
These hos have a 'bitchmode time of the month' when they need to take all the sluttiness off their system. That's when they pick little fights with their men.

If you are stupid enough to fall for it and start malice,
Just know you've given her visa to be a whöre for those days the malice is supposed to be on.

RomanceRe: Guys: Reasons Why Your Girl Dumps You For Other Guys. by wealthtrak: 4:02am On Apr 16, 2021
asdfjklhaha:
I've decided to counter this thread

https://www.nairaland.com/2417116/ladies-reasons-why-guy-dumps

By opening the one below.

Enjoy.

1. Being too Authoritative: most guys as so authoritative. The moment you accept their proposal, they will begin to act like a God over your life. Some will go as far as sizing your phone, buying you new sim card and forcing you to break the old one and begin using the new one they bought, screaming like a dying goat if they call you by 8pm and the background is noisy. Such attitude pisses girls off and may make her reconsider other toasters proposals.

2. Asking for sex too early: most guys think that because you've accepted their proposal you've automatically become their sex machine. They'll begin touching you everywhere at every chance they get. If you mistakenly visit them in their house, you're on your own. Guys should understand that creating an atmosphere that would make the girl comfortable is the only way to win her heart, not acting like a he goat at every opportunity you get.

3. Initiating sex chat all the time: 99% of guys are guilty of this. You exchange number with them, they add you on BBM or whatsapp, the next thing you'll here is send me a hot pic of yourself, snap your boobs let me see how it looks like, how does your waist look like? what's your best sex position, do you suck dic*k and all that. Haba all girls are not porn stars, and that attitude would just tell the girl that you're only interested in her body.

4. The beggar: Its true that some girls rely on guys for almost every material thing in her life, guys are also guilty of the same. Some guys will beg and beg and beg, no shame, I have a coursemate like that, her guy uses her phone to make calls, comes to her lodge to eat, collects her food stuffs and worse of all is that he isn't even faithful to the girl. Guys like that are worse than mosquitoes and can make any girl feel irritated.

5. Abusiveness: Most guys act as if they're professional boxers, they'll slap, punch, kick, and beat you to a pulp at every slight misunderstanding you have. In fact, if you visit them for a week, you'll look like someone that survived an accident between your okada and a dangote trailer. Guys you people need to stop this attitude. Any guy that lays his hands on a girl regardless of what she did doesn't deserve the love and care of any woman.

6. Unfaithfulness: Men are polygamous in nature, but its so irritating when you introduce you guy to your friends and in less than a week he has slept with all of them. He even goes as far as asking your siblings, cousins and female members of your family out. Its so annoying. You cannot even leave him for 5minutes alone with a female without him misbehaving. Most girls get turned off by this attitude and begin to consider other options.

7. Comparing you to their ex: Believe me no girl loves this. Most guys behave like kids, they compare everything you do with the way their ex used to do it. From your cooking, to your dressing, even the way you talk. Please just allow the girl express herself. Trying to force a girl to become what she's not will get her frustrated and as a result she could begin to look elsewhere.

8. Refusing to get matured: We have many guys in their early, mid and late 30s but their characters are like that of teenagers. You say hello to a friend on the road, problem, if you smile while saying hello, they'll say both of you have something in common if not why did you smile, if you give him a peck, that one is another problem. If they take you out, they'll expect you to remain silent like a monument not reply greetings and talking to anyone till you come back home. One word for you, grow up!

I'm never going to forget in a hurry what tgis half Ghanaian- half Bajan girl did to me back in university. This girl toyed with my soul.

The number of times I had to pick her up from the train station at odd times of the night. . .punching the air and thanking my lucky stars only for the knuckle head to cook up some fib. And then I have to drive about 35minutes to her house to drop her off. And then same trip back home. Yours sincerely never got a kiss on the cheek for one day.

For whatever reason thhis girls' birthday happened twice every year. I never really knew how she did it but On each occassion I'd go to selfridges for her shopping andspend nothing less than £500 on flipping designer gearsm . Heck! I never even shopped for myself in bloody selfridges. Smh. . .All I got were hugs!

The list is endless. That girl dealt with me big time.

When I remember those days, i smile at my stupidity. Great lessons learnt though

HealthRe: Reasons Why Most Nigerian Ladies Have Body Odor And Treatments by wealthtrak: 3:37am On Apr 16, 2021
Hadez:
You can call this a counter thread to (5 reasons why Nigerian guys have body odor)

https://www.nairaland.com/3843356/5-reasons-why-most-nigerian

Body odor differs from person to person and in some cases it may be associated with an offensive smell. This may be linked to poor hygiene or excessive perspiration and can be complicated by hormonal changes. While the odor may be generalized, hence the term body odor, it can also be isolated to certain parts of the body, like the armpits or groin.

1. Hormonal Changes During the course of a month, the female sex hormones fluctuate to coordinate events like ovulation and menstruation. The changes during the course of the menstrual cycle are not isolated to the female reproductive organs and may have a generalized effect across the body – affecting perspiration, heat tolerance and usual body odor. It also has localized effects – leading to vaginal discharge and triggering menstruation.

All these factors can affect normal body odor. It may cause or exacerbate excessive perspiration (hyperhidrosis) or offensive smelling perspiration (bromhidrosis), especially if good hygiene is not practiced. It may also affect temperature sensitivity and increase perspiration due to a change in heat tolerance and dilation of the skin blood vessels. While each person has their own specific scent, hormonal changes may also affect the body chemistry and alter this characteristic body odor.

2. Personal Hygiene While hyperhidrosis may be linked to individual temperature sensitivity and the nervous system, hormonal changes may also affect the extent of perspiration. By not practicing good hygiene, this increased perspiration can result in an offensive body odor or exacerbate an already foul body odor.

Body hair, particularly the thicker terminal hair which is present in the armpits and pubic region can further contribute to body odor in these areas. Vaginal discharge, sweat, urine and fecal matter tends to adhere to this hair aggravating the odor at these sites. Not bathing frequently or not trimming the pubic or armpit hair if necessary will exacerbate any offensive odor in the region.

Treating and Preventing Offensive Female Body Odor

Good hygiene by bathing at least twice a day and using a perfumed and an antibacterial soap will assist. If the odor tends to occur more in the areas where terminal hair is present, like the pubic hair or armpit hair, then trimming the hair and washing throughly in these regions are important.

Medical conditions like infections or hyperhidrosis may require medical treatment. In the event of an infection, the causative organism should be identified – usually bacterial and sometimes fungal. An appropriate antibacterial or antifungal cream or gel may be used and in severe cases, an antibiotic or antifungal pill may be necessary.

For hyperhidrosis, the treatment is not always as simple. Hyperhidrosis is usually a persistent condition that does not respond well to drugs and even surgery may offer limited relief. Discuss your treatment options with your doctor in order to manage your condition appropriately.

ronald4lif:
All true. Whenever a lady calls one a gentleman there's a need to be worried and have a reflection of their disposition in dealing with her. Like the OP rightly pointed out a gentleman is a stooge and one they can control and manipulate to do their bidding always.

The flip side is that they detest these 'gentlemen' and find them unappealing but rather are attracted to ignoble men.
Lol.
RomanceRe: Qualities Of A Gentleman (Most Ladies View) by wealthtrak:
OP: Emusmith. Pg1
A gentleman, if I'm up to date, is simply a man who is gentle smiley and not a man who is "simple" or naive. Simply put, a maga; Nah.

It's amazing and sounds unscrupulous and asinine how SOME today's 21st Century Ladies have tilted it towards their own advantage even from a guy who isn't theirs yet...

Hmm, if you don't do this or that towards satisfying her desire, then you're not a "Gentleman". How delusional!

The rhetorical question then is, "Are you a Gentleman" from our Ladies' standpoint?

The compound word "Gentleman" has been soiled and spoiled by most ladies, especially ours.

Now, from their view, as implanted into most of them, from an early age, perhaps; A gentleman is a guy who:

1. Willingly Fall For Their "Friendzone" Trap

Have you ever been friend zoned before? It's a scalar quantity, guy. You're deluded because you think something might still happen when nothing is ever gonna happen. Why? She sees you as a Gentleman. A friend. A brother. Accepting this seat, makes you look like a Perfect Gentleman to her.

2. Lets Her Play A 'Free Rolec Concerning His Money

Haha! Her main and first definition for a Gentle man is the guy who let's her control his 'world bank'. Some will be forming what I don't understand here on NL but...I tell you, you are not a complete gentleman until you make her No. 10 of your wallet. Forget theories.

3. Stands For them to sit in a fixed situation

Whether in a bus or an eatery, stand for her to sit and in her mind, "this guy is such a gentleman". Don't think that's enough green card o. Visit No. 2 for more details.

4. Who doesn't tell them the truth

Why did Eve believe Satan, Father of lies? There is something about most ladies: they love to lied to. Tell them the truth: You're so immature, insensitive and inexperienced. Lie to them: He may be a jerk at times but he's kinda sweet and a perfect Gentleman. :p

5. Who loves the errand boy position.

This reminds me of Uni; so many errand boys. She needs to charge her phone, you put on your gen. Her assignment, it's you she falls on. And ladies like such guys! To her, he is such a Gentleman. A good guy too. Not like these rough guys, she said. It's good to just keep him as a good friend. As they said, "Keep him close under close scrutiny". You need one of such Errand Boys around.

6. Who gives and doesn't expect in return

Don't crucify me saying, "Must guys expect something in return after doing something nice?" No, I don't BUT we are not all the same. Most guys know the truly sincere girls and won't really expect. For the few rest, he sees her opening her legs for little gifts and maybe, as a 'good neighbour', he's been helping her with bigger, more expensive gifts. Hate it or like it, he maybe tempted to expect a 'return'.
Solution: If you're serious, Avoid scenarios that warrant such situations. What you don't have, you don't need. Hurry to ask a guy you're not friends with is asking him for "Two things".Taking things from a guy you barely trust or know and EXPECTING he'll be a Gentleman in return is an EXPENSIVE JOKE, plain childishness and irresponsibility on your part.

7. Swallows their suggestions hook, line and sinker.

I've met a handful of girls who get cranky when there is kinda a "heated" misunderstanding that needs logical explanation. Well, married couples argue, how much singles. She doesn't like you reasoning out her opinions FOR the reason that she's hot-tempered and lack enough reasons venturing into such deals. All you're there for is to help o. But, refusing to swallow blindly and choosing to be logical excludes your name from the list of Gentlemen. Hmm!

With all these, can you call yourself a Gentleman?
Ladies could open up who they really term a "Gentleman".

Cheers!
Lol... Sarcastic definition of
"gentleman."
RomanceRe: 8 Rules For The Modern Gentleman To Live By by wealthtrak: 1:50am On Apr 16, 2021
Valwezzy:
There isn’t really a Gentleman’s code.
There are lots of books on what being a Gentleman is and isn’t. And you
can’t go wrong by carrying around a pocket version of Cecil B. Hartley’s
Book of Etiquette .
But there aren’t many distilled versions of what you should live by.
Nowadays it is mostly just pompous men in $500 suits telling you that
you shouldn’t be wearing a Cravat with that shirt.
And you and I both know being a Gentleman is much more than how you
dress.
So, it’s time to change that.
This list serves as a simple eight rule list to guide the Modern Gentleman
through life. And towards being a better man.

RULE #1: A GENTLEMAN SHOULD ALWAYS BE
HELPFUL
This is obvious, right?
Well, obvious is what a lot of men need to hear. Because when you ask
yourself the question, ‘Am I really that helpful?’ your answer is probably
no.
As a Gentleman you should strive to help anyone, as long as it’s in your
power.
Whether that means:
Holding the door open
Connecting them to someone in your network
Offering to help them move house
Picking up the tab when someone is strapped for cash
Any way that you can help someone, you should.
But there is one element I would keep in mind here: be helpful as long as
it doesn’t negatively affect you.
If by offering someone a ride, it means you’re going to miss a meeting,
then you’re not going to be able to help properly.
If you can be helpful though, do it. Kindness is at the heart of
Gentlemanly culture.

RULE #2: A GENTLEMAN SHOULD UNDERSTAND GOOD
MANNERS
“Manners Maketh Man” was first said by William Horman over 500
years ago. And it’s still as true today as it ever was.
Good manners go unnoticed. Yet they have a big impact on whether or
not you come across as a Gentleman. If you’re neat, tidy and keep your
elbows off the table, you will always be welcomed back anywhere you go.
However if you’re rude, pick your nose and burp in the host’s face,
you’re probably not going to make the Gentleman’s impression you were
going for.
At the least make sure you:
Are clean and tidy
Smell fresh
Cover your mouth when you cough
Keep your elbows off the dinner table
Avoid talk about politics in new company
Bring a bottle of wine whenever you’re invited for dinner
Again, they might seem obvious, but you’ll be surprised how often you let
these slip. And when you do, you’re going to struggle to recover.

RULE #3: A GENTLEMAN SHOULD DEVOTE TIME TO
SELF IMPROVEMENT
Be well-read.
If you take just one rule from this list and apply it right away, let it be
this one.
The more you read, the more you know. The more you know, the more
you’re able to understand the world around you. The more you
understand, the more useful you become.
Education means nothing in the real world. That is, those little pieces of
paper handed out from schools that cost a fortune.
But ignoring self-education is a cardinal sin.
And, if nothing else, it improves your confidence and makes
conversations much easier to hold.

RULE #4: A GENTLEMAN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT
PRICE TAGS
“Never for one moment believe that any human being, who has good sense,
will love or respect you merely on account of a fine or costly coat.”
That quotes comes from William Alcott’s, The Young Man’s Guide , written
in 1835. And it is true on two levels:

1. A Gentleman does not judge someone based on their income

2. A Gentleman should never feel inferior because of the clothes he
wears
Gandhi was, undoubtedly, a Gentleman. And his worldly possessions
came to a huge 16 items, most of them made from wood or cloth.
Yet you would not judge him as inferior because of it. So, neither should
you judge someone who can’t afford an expensive suit or expensive
brogues.
You do not know their struggle. And the cost of a coat means nothing,
unless you want to rub shoulders with the ‘Rodgers’ down at the Yacht
Club.
Secondly, if you can’t afford expensive suits and tailored items – so
what?
If you aspire to do so, you will. If you don’t, it doesn’t matter. As long as
you are well-dressed, clean and proper looking, the price of what you’re
wearing doesn’t matter.
Make the effort; everything else will fall into place.

RULE #5: A GENTLEMAN SHOULD UNDERSTAND HE IS
NOT ABOVE ANYONE
Status isn’t a thing any more.
I don’t care if you’re a Fortune 500 CEO, 10th in line for the English
Throne, or a professional dog walker from Idaho.
You’re not better than anybody else. And a Gentleman never considers
himself to be.
People are granted different opportunities in life, and you should always
respect that.
After all, you aren’t judged on how well you kiss the ass of the person
above you, but on how you treat those people who haven’t been as
fortunate as you.

RULE #6: A GENTLEMAN IS ALWAYS HONEST
Honest is the best policy. Cliché, right?
But it’s true.
If you’re straight up with people about your intentions, your feelings,
and what you’re thinking, you will never go wrong.
People’s feelings may occasionally get hurt. They may not hear what they
want to hear. And you may come across as brash or bold.
But, at the end of the day, nobody will ever argue with your honesty.
And you will gain a lot of Gentlemanly respect because of it.

RULE #7: A GENTLEMAN IS RESPECTFUL OF TIME
Time is precious.
And, as a Gentleman, you should be respectful of that.
The time of others is precious and should never be wasted. Whilst your
own time is valuable and you should treat it as its own currency.
Small talk and chitchat have their time and place – just like playing
Candy Crush Saga on your phone – but if you should be doing something
important, or can save someone else time, then do so.
As the Fight Club narrator says, “This is your life and it’s ending one
minute at a time.”

RULE #8: A GENTLEMAN WOULD SOONER BREAK ANY
OF THESE RULES THAN BECOME A PRETENTIOUS
BORE
Gentlemanly culture comes with some pomp and pretentiousness about it.
Which, when used badly, can make you come across as, well, a bit of a
prick.
Sad but true.
Even though these rules are designed to help and guide the young
gentleman with how they should act, I urge you to cast any of them aside
if they don’t fit the situation.

If, for example, you’re sitting in a McDonald’s and you’re moaning that
your friend has their elbows on the table, you really run the risk of
becoming a ‘Rodger*’.

So break any and all of these rules when you see fit. You’re the
Gentleman and you know the situation better than anybody else.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, DON’T BE A RODGER*!

Have you ever been to a party where there is that one guy, usually
wearing something cashmere, who only knows how to talk about these
topics:

The clothes he’s wearing
How much something cost
Daddy’s success
The features of his new Jaguar
Why you should only drink Dalmore whisky
That’s a Rodger. Because that is normally his name.
And, whilst he considers himself to be a Gentleman – through luxurious
finery and association – he is actually the complete opposite.
A pompous person who cares more about himself than those around him.
So, when you’re going about your daily life, ask yourself the question:
Am I being a Rodger?
If you are, stop it.

CONCLUSION
As time goes on I imagine this list of rules will grow and change. And, for
now, it serves as a simple guide on how to approach life as a Gentleman.
There are rules you think should be on this list. And there will be lessons
you learn along the way about what a Gentleman truly is.
So, if you think of any rules that should be added to the list, don’t
hesitate to comment and let me know…

RomanceRe: Trying To Be Invisible On Whatsapp. by wealthtrak: 7:09pm On Apr 15, 2021
Biglittlelois:
I've been noticing a recent trend on whatsapp which more people are adopting day by day, mostly guys

The act of removing last seen and putting off read receipt, it is very rude and disrespectful, last seen can be excused, but you see that read receipt, how will someone know his/her chat has been read? Even if one gets a reply afterward without the ticks turning blue, It still doesn't speak well of whoever does that cos he/she will be seen in a negative kind of way, when the read receipt is on, the person will actually appreciate the fact that his/her chat has been read, then wait for a reply at anytime

Imagine doing that to an elderly person, my brother did it to my Dad(removing read receipt), old man thought his whatsapp had problem, when he explained it to him, my Dad gave him a hella lecture he can't forget in a hurry, then instructed him to put it back on

I actually don't chat with any of my contacts that has its read receipt off, once I notice it, I immediately tune out, I recently asked one why he turned off his own, he gave no tangible reason, I politely told him I won't chat him anymore

So has anyone had same experience? How do you feel about it? I'd like us to share thoughts on it.....
It seems creepy to me, but then it's
meant for privacy reasons.

I had this promising relationship with this lovely girl, we were more than lovers, we were good friends. Initially no secrets, everything was so sweet. I loved her sha!
I tried to meet her needs too when she's down,in short we were thinking towards marriage.
Until she suddenly changed. She will shout for me like this ehn?,smh, I really don suffer o. She'd leave me in the midst of a conversation and not even care to come back, she started calling me Mr. xyz (real name withheld) in our conversations, she did many things enough to make me mad and just call it quit but guess what? I was in love, I just thought twas mood swing or something. When I saw that it was getting out of hands, I started watching out. Behold she started telling red lies(that's what I call Lies that the liar forgot he/she has told),yet I played along however at that point I asked her what was wrong with us?
She refused to talk, she said I won't force words out of her mouth, after much pestering she talked! She wanted out, she said I should pause anything called love between us, she started saying this and that....I gave her space (in pains, Choi! I don love sha) and asked again and she said I was too good for her. Like seriously? Have I ever condemned you? She said No. Have I ever this, that she said No. Have I offended you? She said No, We can make it work na. I begged this girl "taya" but she refused to "gree". I'd call her like this, she won't answer, she refused to see me sef. At that point I knew her heart is now elsewhere. I woke up to the reality!
It was very painful to know that someone I love and I thought loved me back could just wake up one morning and say She doesn't want me again.I'd planned the future with her, she left me all to myself to achieve it alone. I still miss her sha. I was really wounded in my heart then too,she left me with no choice than to believe that Love is scam!

E pain me cos na me fucck up.I blamed myself for not acting earlier.I started acting like a person that was served a break up notice.I wanted to date that best friend as a form of come back maybe e go pain the babe small. But she is not too good looking so i lock up.

Since that year till now, i never asked any babe out.I never dated anyone cos i hate rejection. So i plan to focus on my life other than babes. We are still good friends till now. We still chatted yesterday.I just feel upset whenever she in particular uses pet names on me "Baby,boo,dear,darling,honey"......Mtcheeeew! Nonsense and corona virus

Wordsfrombimpe:
Here’s something that most people will be too afraid to tell you:

A man who is in love will commit immediately, and without hesitation. The only way you can tell that you are “meant to be” with someone is whether or not you are actually with them right here, right now.

The person you are meant to be with will not put you on hold.

This is not an easy thing to accept because a man who doesn’t love you completely will do this dance where they bait you in, weave you through a forest of excuses, and leave you lost, unable to decipher whether you’re supposed to hold on for a little longer, or finally let it go.

Some dating experts say if your goal is to get married and you’re in a relationship with someone who doesn’t know for sure that they want to marry you within 90 days of seeing one another, you’re with the wrong person.

It’s not that they are walking down the aisle on day 89, it’s that by that time they know you are the person they could see spending their life with, and they’re comfortable enough with that to continue to pursue a relationship with you.

NLRulesEnforcer:
"You go stop to dey do work wey dem no send you"

Your reasoning here resembles a dysfunctional society (like Nigeria, for example) in which the citizens (i.e. forum members like yourself) only look to the leaders and/or constituted authorities (e.g. the Mods) to be the ones to encourage and enforce that people abide by the laws (i.e. forum rules) while the citizens avoid doing anything, nor reporting anything, nor saying anything when they see another citizen breaking and abusing the law; just because they feel it is "not their problem".

Well, it is a problem - when I see the forum littered with spam content and ads (in irrelevant places) from forum members unconcerned about how their rule-breaking actions and activities (e.g. spamming ads) negatively affect the overall Nairaland experience for others (both old and new members).

And these same forum members exploit loopholes in the system (e.g. creating multiple alternate accounts) just to spam their content with impunity nor without fear of real repercussions; just because they can "freely" create an another account when banned.

My goal is to rid Nairaland of forum rule-breakers and rule-abusers. Especially members who, unrepentantly, break and abuse forum rules 1, 12, 16, 18, and 19.

There are fewer Mods than are forum members, hence Mods cannot catch every rule-breaker/abuser. As such, I do not see my goal misaligned with the objectives of the Mods; which does include ensuring these forum rules are upheld, in their respective sections, asides regular content and discussion moderation.
Hence, do not foresee a ban directly from Mods, rather what I do anticipate is backlash from rule-breaking forum members being upset that someone is actually telling them to adhere to the forum rules. Rules which are already clearly defined and visible to members even before they publish comments on any thread.

That being said, to avoid derailing this thread; no further comments will be made on this note. Have a good day.

But coming to the females, they seem to act weird especially when they truly like the guy

From blocking him online and unblocking. Stalking him, trying to know the new lady he talks to, crying all day, checking when he's online and acting cold etc

So my question is, why is it hard for them to move on

So guys share your experiences if you've ever rejected a lady's advances

Nairaland GeneralRe: Ray Dalio Says There Is Good Probability Of A U.S Bitcoin Ban by wealthtrak: 11:39am On Apr 01, 2021
NotJobless:
There have been uncertainty as to banning of Bitcoin in the United States and recently the manager of a hedge fund, a billionaire, in the person of Ray Dalio is adding to the whole fear.

There is a good probability that the U.S government could ban Bictoin just as it did with gold ownership in the 1930’s as posited by the $10 billion hedge Fund Bridgwater Associates during an interview with Yahoo Finance editor-in-chief on March 24.

The banning of gold ownership in 1930’s was premised on the fact that the government leaders at that time did not want fiat money and credit to compete with gold as a store of wealth.

Dalio further opined that:

“They don’t want other monies to be operating or competing because things can get out of control. So I think that it would be very likely that you will have it, under a certain set of circumstances, outlawed the way gold was outlawed.”

BusinessRe: Nigeria Is Now The World ’s Second-richest Bitcoin Market After The US! by wealthtrak: 9:35am On Apr 01, 2021
V7place:
During the police brutality protests in Nigeria in October, bitcoin saved the day when the government shut out protesters from using local payment platforms for collecting donations to support it.

The young, tech-savvy protesters quickly switched to using bitcoin, and in about a week bitcoin accounted for around 40% of the nearly $400,000 raised. It was just one high-profile example of how young Nigerians increasingly use bitcoin to navigate a complicated and restrictive banking and monetary system.

In the last five years, Nigeria has traded 60,215 bitcoins, valued at more than $566 million which, apart from the US, is the largest volume worldwide on Paxful, a leading peer-to-peer bitcoin marketplace. The data scraped from Coin Dance shows from the beginning of May 2015 to the middle of November this year, bitcoin trade in Nigeria have increased yearly at least 19% in volume since 2017, and the highest volume (20,504.50) was traded in 2020.

Bitcoin trade had its highest spike of 30% this year during the national lockdown in the country and the highest volume traded during the peak of the pandemic. between January and September, Paxful was reported to record a 137% increase in new registrations in Nigeria.”

The company says Nigerians make up around a quarter of its customer base with 1.3 million registered accounts. “They mostly use the platform for peer-to-peer and arbitrage trading,” says Nena Nwachukwu, Paxful Nigeria regional manager. “Remittances is also a popular use case.” Nwachukwu says bitcoin transfers are “much cheaper and faster than using traditional money transfer operators.”

The growing uncertainty and instability around the Nigerian naira, which has had increasingly divergent official and parallel exchange rates with the US dollar, has created an opportunity and practical use case for bitcoin trade in Nigeria. The divergent rates have long been a striking feature of Nigeria’s economy but more so in the last half decade as the country’s financial authorities have attempted to micro-manage the supply of foreign exchange and “defend” the naira.

In the last couple of years, other African countries, most prominently Zimbabwe, have seen a spike in cryptocurrency trade led by bitcoin, due to currency fluctuations and uncertain monetary policy. In some cases limits to the trade has been prompted by a lack of reliable local platforms.

“The lack of bitcoin liquidity was the first obstacle to solve to introduce bitcoin to Africa,” says Ray Youssef, co-founder of Paxful.

Nigerians are often restricted on international platforms such as PayPal, which does not allow payment to Nigeria, and local banks place a cap on international transactions and charge high fees for transactions due to dollar deficiency.

“People want to be able to buy and sell, transact internationally and the more the traditional channels are being restricted the more people trade crypto and mainly bitcoin,” explains Eleanya Eke, co-founder of Buycoins Africa. “And the best thing about it is that it’s almost impossible to stop. If you block the exchange it moves to Peer-to-peer platforms that are non-custodial.”

The increased awareness and availability of easy-to-use bitcoin platforms to Nigerians have largely increased bitcoin liquidity in the country, therefore solving the first problem hindering adoption. Nigerians now have several formal and semiformal bitcoin platforms to use, ranging from international platforms including Paxful, Binance, and Luno, and local ones such as Quidax, Busha, and BuyCoins. However, long-term watchers say most trading in the country is done on informal channels such as Telegram, WhatsApp bad WeChat.

Globally, there was a shift to online transactions from the physical,” says Osaretin Victor Asemota, a Nigerian tech investor. “In Nigeria, as banks were closed, the agency outlets recorded much higher transaction volumes. I think this shift was inevitable, and it is not a temporary pandemic boost.”

Bitcoin traded as low as $3,600 in March due to a massive sell-off on global financial markets has this month surged past $20,000 for the first time. While in the past, the value has increased like this only to later dropped drastically in a few weeks, some analysts say this increase may continue into 2021 as it appears it is due to the growing interest of institutional investors in the cryptocurrency.

Institutional investors such as MassMutual and MicroStrategy were reportedly planning to purchase hundreds of million-dollar worth of bitcoin, while PayPal, a top global online payment company recently added cryptocurrency to its functionality, letting people use bitcoin to pay for things online.

Work for an airline is usually a part time job for many. I met many bank managers, lawyers, businessman working there. The pay is not much except you want to do it as a career and work in the office.

Otherwise Field workers are divided into above wing ( customer services issuing tickets, gate officers) and below wing ( those who bring in the planes, load bags etc).Below wing mostly work outside. You either work with the main company like Delta, United, Sun Country or their subsidiaries where pay is less and work conditions not as good or permanent. As a worker I got to fly unlimited throughout America and 25 times overseas with my immediate family. 25 for my parents no matter what County they are in. If you travel to Nigeria like once or twice a year, that's a savings of $2000 to $4000 (economy) and $10,000 to $20,000 if business class and if you have a spouse and 3 kids, multiple that.
Awesome... wink
