For Nigeria to import palm oil simply means that we don't produce enough to Carter to our consumption need. The thing is Nigerians re very greedy and if not for imported palm oil we would still be buying a bottle for 700naira by now. It was this greed that made some folks to go importing palm oil cos of the supposed high returns which lead to flooding in the market and crashed the price of the product. So before they ban the importation of palm oil how do they intend to stop people from hoarding local oil and creating artificial scarcity.

I do more of TBills, and about to divest to Stocks and MMF.
My risk appetite is a bit low since this fund is a family money which I had ran for 3years at minimum of 12% per annum.
Could holding good stocks for a few months give a 20% profit?
My target is keeping it at 20% per annum.
Is stocks the best for me, or MMFs?

My company is setting us a broiler processing plant in Port Harcourt ready to process between 500 – 1000 birds per hour which will Cater for the South East and South South Region of the country. We are inviting broiler farmers in the region to join our network of out-growers or contract farmer to supply our plant with 8wks old broilers or birds at live weight of between 1.8-2.5 kg.

The Farmers should have the capacity of breading 5000+ birds. This present farmers the opportunity to sell out their birds as at when due and not have to spend their profit feeding their stock after attaining maturity.

I'm not stubborn. WI'll you be my mentor ? At least you are less harsh and not sarcastic.

I said in my earlier posts that I started with a mentor who bought the land for me and helped with the initial setup. the guy ran away before we could evrn plant a seed. je had issues with his landlord in the community. The story of drip irrigation just came to fore when we have gone far and thats just a week or two ago.

Please anyone with solution to the leaves and the fruits curling problems?

Some people here are still not getting the point, and that's because they didn't read my earlier thread on the issue -

1. The whole thing started when we got here some years ago. We were happily married for almost a year before we relocated. The reason for the relocation was because I got admitted for my doctorate degree. I didn't want to leave her back home alone, so we came together.

2. For the first year or so after coming here, she did nothing. She had our first baby about two months after our arrival. She spent the time caring for the little one. At some point, she started receiving orders for baby clothes from people in Nigeria. That's when the whole idea of business started.

3. Due to the "collect goods today, pay tomorrow" mentality of some of her customers, the business didn't really thrive for long. After a while, the whole crisis of the naira and the inability of her customers to pay ruined the whole thing for her. She decided to stop. By then, I suggested that in order not to remain idle, I would apply for her masters degree study for her. By then, she had already had the twins.

4. I guess she found out she was quite good at business, and I think someone suggested to her here to import african fabrics and wears.

The thing then continues to the initial thread and then that's what led to this point.

The only thing I don't understand is why a bank will make illegal deductions from a customer's account to the tune of millions of naira? That's a criminal offence! What if the account wasn't audited, how would the customer know that his bank has been stealing from him. Somebody in the bank needs to go to jail for that! If SARS kills robbers for stealing a couple thousands what about these criminals on suit.
You would be surprised to see how much your bank has stolen from you if you contract external auditors. As we cannot afford auditors due our tasere account balance, we will keep overlooking the illegal deductions and taxes the banks impose on us.

Like seriously? You mean their is still upside potential in these tier one banks? I wonder how far they can still go given the massive rallies they have enjoyed YTD. I feel tier two banks have more upward movement to give than the FUGAZ. We watch as events unfold on the floor.
