It was shot down by the courts. The Senate invasion was simply a coup, because even the Senate has no legal backing to reject Electors submitted by the states. If a state sent 2 set of Electors then the Senate can come in and choose which set of Electors to certify, but where no state sent 2 set of electors, what then gives the Senate the powers to reject the electors?

The impeachment would be for American posterity. An impeachment trial will reveal what really happened, how was one of the most secure building in the US and housing the no.2 and no.3 citizens so easily breached like it's was an open market? How deep the the coup conspirators go? The plannings, the bussing in people from other states, etc. That happened to all the layers of security? Why was there no quick response from the local police and the national guard?

Are you aware that the situation would have been worse if the invasion and coup was better coordinated? If the ballots boxes containing the votes were destroyed or a substantial number of Senators were killed, the US would have been thrown into a catastrophic political turmoil.

As I said earlier, this needs to go into the history books as the day US democracy and probably republic almost ended and there needs to be proper investigation and trial including impeachment.

I disagree with you. Inciting violence and planing a coup is a criminal offence. In most countries it's a capital offense. Even if the Senate would remove him (there is no time for that anyway), it needs to be on record that President Trump was impeached twice, and the reason he was impeached. 100 years from now history students need to learn that a certain President Trump planned to overthrow an incoming government in order to perpetuate himself in office.

This impeachment does not stop other indictments.

Humans are social animals wired to separate ourselves into distinct social groups, you can call it tribe. Which can be subdivided into smaller social units based on religion, culture and party. If you don't identify with one tribe, you are likely to be rejected by all.

You are right Trumpvirus does not seem as deadly in Lagos or tropical Africa as it is in Europe and the Americas. This is evidenced in our very low infection rate and lower death rate due to covid infection in spite of our very careless almost nonchalant attitude. I knew we were relatively immune from the virus when I went to computer village at the height of the lockdown when there was a one day on, one day off shop and market days. On every market day, the crowd was do much that we were all practically breathing down each others nose. And this was duplicated throughout all the major markets like ASPANDA, ladipo, Alaba. If we did not breakdown then, I knew we would never breakdown ever from coronavirus. Our hospitals are not overwhelmed with sickness and death, so I guess that there must be other factors that's not allowing the virus overwhelm us. It seems to have more effects on rich and old folks who travel overseas constantly.
