Iamgrey5:False. The recording could not have been made by Georgian republican secretary of state, if you listen to the recording it was done from Trump's end because Trump's voice was very loud, much louder that the Georgian secretary of state's voice. https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/politics/audio-trumps-full-jan-2-call-with-ga-secretary-of-state/2021/01/03/3f9426f4-7937-4718-8a8e-9d6052001991_video.html Someone from Trump's inner circle wants to Bleep him up |
Listen to the full phone conversation, it's even more shocking that the snippets we have heard https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/politics/audio-trumps-full-jan-2-call-with-ga-secretary-of-state/2021/01/03/3f9426f4-7937-4718-8a8e-9d6052001991_video.html |
Timiofak:How what he is attempting is not deemed a coup and therefore a crime is beyond me. This is very similar to June 12 1993 debacle in Nigeria. Someone won an election free and fair, but the incumbent on flimsy excuses upturned the elections in order to remain in power. The US democracy is very flawed and weak. |
feedthenation:It's not about Georgia's 20 electoral votes, the strategy is about convincing republican members of Congress to reject the certified results and accept alternative Electors on the 6th of January. If Georgia's secretary of state and governor had buckled to Trump's threats and agreed that Georgia's election was flawed, they would have used that admission to reject the Electors from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Michigan on january 6the. Then chaos would have ensued in congress and probably in the whole country. He will then hold unto power illegally and pronounce the insurrection act to silence all opposition. |
jajeri3216:Believe me religion (not spirituality ) is a major problem. Religion promote the idea that I/we are the chosen and we are more special than everyone else. Religion segment the society according to closeness to God. Authority flows from those closest to God to those furthest from God. The leaders/priests of religion are put on the same pedestal as God itself and all acts no matter how absurd are accepted. Religion is about control, control of the adherents for whatever purpose the leaders/priests want. It could be for political or economic purposes. Spirituality on the other hand is about freedom, freedom to achieve unity, communicate or interact with God/universe/ consciousness. Spirituality does not divide the world into us against them. The major faiths are big on religion but small on spirituality. If you notice almost all the central figures of religion were never religious but highly spiritual. Something must be there has a placeholder, otherwise there'll be no direction( in the west, it's Christianity and critical thought)Using religion as a placeholder has had terrible consequences in the past and still continues to have terrible consequences today. Shouting Allahu Akbar before beheading innocent people is one example. As for Nigeria/blacks, the problems increasingly points toward fecklessness, inaptitude, to summarize, low iq/intelligence, and now a declining moral compass/ lack of guidance and direction.(anything goes). The problem is not necessarily low IQ/intelligence/declining moral compass, because in terms of IQ, intelligence and Moral compass, our society is better off today than before we came in contact with the Europeans. The problem is our changing value system that now promote class selfish materialism in the guise of prosperity. Now, we promote greed, selfishness, avarice, and not empathy, social development, hard work and contentment. Society needs a lot more people who are skilled in building a variety of things/have a guiding principle for keeping society going in the right direction, the more of this there is the better.Society need honest leadership who are ready to sacrifice for the general progress of all. The new type of arguments especially the literate ones put up is society should live as thou wilt, and guidance is irrelevant, they also compare their society with other societies who prioritize know how.eg the west doesn't care about nudity, why should we, but forgetting nudity isn't the engine behind western civilization.Nudity has very little to do with it. Most societies start out nude or with very minimal clothing. We Sub Saharan Africans did not start covering up until the beginning of the 20th century. Even at independence, most villages in Nigeria wore very little clothings. While I was schooling in sokoto in the late 80s, there was a village very close to my school where young girls were walking around topless. In all these, there were no reporting of rape or sexual deviancy. |
jajeri3216:You will be surprised i understand these issues far more than you do. I studied Architecture, I have studied the evolution of western civilization to some great extent. I studied comparative religions from my university days to have a grasp of Religious evolution of Westen civilization. I agree Nigeria is a failing state, it's not yet a failed state and I believe religion has contributed a lot to that failing status. If you look well most failed states (if not all) are religious fundamentalist states. Laws must exist to regulate the running and interactions within a society, but such laws must reflect the developmental aspirations of the people, and not laws simply made to control the minds, bodies and properties of the people. Religious laws are mainly a means of control of the masses of people and have little to do with developmental objectives. That's why most develop societies quickly separated the state from religion to achieve their developmental goals. |
Jaqenhghar:That's the way the world should run and promote peace. Everyone should be entitled to his or her opinion. We should be guided by civic laws and not doctrinal laws of a particular religion. |
CHoccolaTE:Don't mind them hypocrites. They see nothing with having sex with 13 year olds but they go insane at the thought of consenting adults having sex. That's how the originator of Sharia (Yarima) married and started having sex with a minor. She later died during child birth, and no outrage from the Muslim community. If a Muslim man marries 4 wives and decides to have sex orgies with all 4 at the same time, there would be no outrage. |
jajeri3216:Satanism might not be acceptable to you, the same way Ogboni might not be acceptable, but it's a religion with its own believers. Enjoy the maximum destruction that comes with it, just don't complain when society doesn't work and blame it on buhari. What do you mean maximum destruction? Is it destruction by your God or destruction orchestrated by you and your religious breathens? What brings buhari into this? Satanism, anarchism is fine as long as you don't whine about the outcomesSatanism is not anarchism. In fact the Christian and Islamic religion historically had created more anarchy than any other religion in world history. |
BastardWike:When I look at the pictures all I see are mostly women and no cows in sight. And you are telling us that these are the Fulani Herdsmen that has been terrorising the area. How are trucks able to enter deep into the forest to evacuate the mattresses and personal belongings of theses "Fulani herdsmen"? I had always thought that the hideouts of these herdsmen were inaccessible. I support a security outfit to confront the Fulani menace especially if ran by a constituted authority (governors of Local government chairmen), but a kanu led security outfit might use it for personal vendetta against ordinary fulanis and Northerners in general. |
jajeri3216:Did the Nigerian constitution ban people from being over sexualised Satanist? Does the freedom of religion in the Nigerian constitution not cover Satanism? Is satanism a crime in Nigeria? |
dustydee:Sex parties just like prostitution had been going on before Christianity and Islam and will be there till the last days of the earth. The Romans Festival of Baccus involved sex orgies. Even Saturnalia which later metamorphosized into the Christian Christmas involved wild sex parties and orgies. |
seunmsg:Who will pay her millions of naira? Millions of Kobo she will not get. In Nigeria going to court is easy, getting court judgement is fairly difficult but possible, the problem is enforcement of court judgements. Who will enforce court judgement against a state government or federal government? Even court judgements against powerful individuals is difficult if not impossible to enforce. Do you know how many billions of naira judgement compensations and damages against the Nigerian police that is yet to be settled? Do you know how many properties El Rufai demolished and seized illegally while he was minster of FCT? These governors knows that they can get away with anything and cannot be held accountable, and that's why they demolish any property they have their eyes on without any legal backing. If not that IPOB spew insults up and down and threaten everyone, I would have agreed with them that Nigeria is indeed a zoo. To me it's even worse than a zoo, because a zoo is orderly and the animals behave in an orderly manner. Nigeria can best be described as a jungle, where there are no rules and the law of survival of the fittest (strongest) rules. |
authority2006:Is your grouse with Covid restrictions or with the nude party itself? They did not ask anyone to walk the streets naked. It's like inviting people to a swimming pool party, you are not expected to wear your bikini from home. Now, what will you say if people gather together in a private living rooms lock the gate and all becomes naked or start having group sex. Do you support the police breaking their gate and knocking down the front door to arrest everyone involved. I quarrel with the open advertisement on social media though. |
Mummymahdi:Just answer the question did they break any law? And if they did, what's the sentence if found guilty? |
Realestatevixen:Morality is a person or group affair, you cannot legislate morality. |
Emaxwell:If they are not Muslims Nko? I thought they said Sharia law applies only to Muslims. |
basilico:If over 50 cases are thrown our on technicalities (which is even false), then something is definitely wrong with the lawyers or the case itself. It means you can't blame the individual judges. |
basilico:Hunter cannot be prosecuted with a video. Ukraine courts are functional. If Hunter Biden broke Ukrainian law he should be asked to face a Ukrainian court. |
basilico:And all those nutcases and affidavits that Rudy Gulianni and other Trump lawyers brought to court are not witnesses? Even Trump lawyers did not go to court to argue election fraud. There were mainly interest in cancelling mail in votes and nullifying electoral laws passed by the swing states before the elections. You guys pretent not to know that Trump never had the support of majority of US citizens throughout his tenure as President, he never had more than 45% approval ratings (which are mainly his republican base). So it's disingenuous to suggest that most American citizen are aggrieved at Trump's loss. |
basilico:Thump supporters (not Conservatives) have been threatening violence since before the elections and gave upped the ante since the election loss and various loss at the courts. Yes Trump is but only one man, if he is found guilty by the courts of having committee a crime, he should go to jail. His over 60million supporters can join him if they wish. The whole world cannot come to an end because of one man. Even when the Jews jailed and killed Jesus the whole world did not come to an end. If Trump supporters distrust world peace, the US and the whole world would rein them in, just like they did Hitler. If Hunter Biden broke Ukraine law, let them prosecute him or at least ask for US help to prosecute him. They don't require threats and quid pro quo from Trump to do it. |
basilico:The courts are supposed to be the course of last resort in any society. That's why there are many layers of courts up to the Supreme Court. If you lose you case at the Supreme Court, the only way an aggrieved person can get his way is through violence. And resorting to violence would have far reaching implications for everybody involved because the losers would definitely lose their lives or liberties. It's only the courts that can declare the election rigged and not the aggrieved party. Once the courts declare the election fair, then that's the position of the law. Any other thing done to upturn the decision of the courts is a slip into anarchy. |
basilico:This is a direct threat to the legislators, their families and the US as a whole, that Trump supporters are prepared to take up arms against the state unless Trump is reinstalled as President on January 20th. And you guys think you have a monopoly of violence, abi? That Democrats/leftists/Biden's supporters would just cower with fear and let you guys trample all over them. You will be very surprised when shit hits the ceiling and the violence you guys have been threatening starts. |
OAFMods:According to IPOB's logic General Ironsi is a hero for seizing power through a coup but Major General Buhari is a criminal for getting into power through the same coup. |
Rhea:That exactly my view. How are you sure that it's only cars that the wife has been donating to the pastor? |
Duru9:Are you aware that if the pastor would not turn to FBI to investigate the source of gifts given to him and the gift ends up being stolen item, he would become a accessory to a crime and cool his heels in jail? |
Emotional rants and blackmail as usual with little intellectual value. awgumayor:And when it comes to Fulani or Yoruba matters, you people don't turn yourselves God on the judgement throne? Now, how many killer herdsmen have been arrested and prosecuted by your unbiased courts? Or are you deaf and blind about their activities all this long? And what's exactly is your point? Who is arguing with you that the Government has failed woefully in securing the lives and property of Nigeria as a whole? Well, ESN doesn't need any court or authority to take them to since they (herdsmen) are not there for other crimes except to kill they shall be equally paid in their own coin. As for other criminals in the region the fear of ESN will trigger repentance or expulsion just as in the days of bakassi boys.Well if you say you guys don't need any legal backing or authority to carry out your activities, don't start playing the victim card of screaming genocide, Igbo hating, US, UK, UN, Hague, etc., when the FG starts going after you guys, and also don't start blaming the Governors for doing nothing as according to you they are powerless and irrelevant. Note that the people we put in authority to protect us are weak and afraid due to reasons known to them, but we are not weak to protect ourselves due to reasons known to us. Only a tree heard that it will be killed and still standing. If the people you put in authority to protect you are weak and afraid, why not band together to change these people and put those that are strong and brave with the powers and authority they are given. You guys screen "boycott all elections " during elections and then scream "people we put in authority to protect us are weak and afraid". Does that make any sense? The killer herdsmen should first be arrested and prosecuted, kidnapper bandits should be arrested and prosecuted. If your government starts arresting and punishing bandits ( especially school boys kidnappers), Fulani herdsmen, boko haram members all these regional outfits will die out.Regional or state security outfits are a must for a multicultural and diverse country like Nigeria. That's the very definition of true federalism. The ideas that a federal police in Abuja can police all 36 states is absurd. If the Governors are allowed by law to operate an armed police unit and they actually use security votes to fund and equip them, arresting and persecuting bandits like Fulani herdsmen won't be a problem. |
nku5:I give up. Convincing you decree 34 by general Ironsi destroyed the Nigerian Federation is like convincing a flat earther that the world is actually round. Even if you take him to the moon to witness an earth rise, he will still find a stupid explanation on why what you are looking at is an illusion. I rest my case on this thread. |
Deadlytruth:Don't mind him. He is just trying to defend Ironsi no matter how insane his argument is. Imagine a single civil service running all 4 regions. So who will pay the civil servants running the regions and where will the revenues and taxes go to? Who will then make laws for the newly decreed regions? |
nku5:https://dawodu.com/decree34.htm 1. A military regime by nature is a Unitarian entity. You are just talking nonsense. Read what you wrote up there again and see if it makes any sense. Ironsi retained which administrators to government which regional spaces? Who appointed the administrators in the first place? I gave you an assignment and you refused to do it. Once again look up the difference between a Federation and a Republic. The actual part of decree 34 that killed the regions is - Nigeria shall on 24th May 1966 cease to be a Federation. This simply means the country ceased being a Federation of regions and effectively became a Republic comprising of components (whether states or regions) under a single (unitary government ). If you are unable to understand these simple facts, then you are beyond help. |
nku5:Subject to the provisions of this Decree, Nigeria shall on 24th May 1966 (in this decree referred to as ‘the appointed day’) cease to be a Federation and shall accordingly as from that day be a Republic , by the name of the Republic of Nigeria, consisting of the whole of the territory which immediately before that day was comprised in the Federation. - Major General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi 24th May 1966 Now go and look up the difference between a Federation and a Republic. |
Jax1:No one accused Aguiyi Ironsi for divided the 4 regions into 12 states, what we are accusing General Ironsi of is changing Nigeria from a federation of regions to a Republic consisting of states subservient to a central government. |
