Trump's did not call for a protest, he called for an insurrection to stop Mike Pence (who told him a day earlier that he had no powers to reject the results) and the Congress from certifying the election results. He also instructed his followers never to give up.

What he said was that with the constraints from the justice department and the white house, he could not prove collusion. But Congress could take up obstruction of evidence against trump or he could be charged after leaving office.

That would be a question for the Supreme Court to decide. There are constitutional lawyers that argue both sides. It's obvious that the Senate as presently constituted and with the present atmosphere will never summon the numbers to convict a Trump. And I doubt that's the goal of the Democrats. Just like the Ukraine impeachment, the Democrats want to expose to the public and call witnesses to expose the extent of Trump's involvement in the insurgency. Most Americans (except Republicans) are appalled by the desecration of the actual symbol of democracy, which the inner chambers of the Capitol stands for.

To answer your question, if Trump shot and killed someone in broad daylight. Do you think removal from office and a ban from holding office is sufficient punishment? Because that's all the conviction will actually do.

It might not be sufficient punishment, but it is a punishment all the same. You refused to provide an answer to the man question - How do you deal with a president who commits a crime in his last days or weeks in office? What happens if a president commits a serious crime and then resigns, should his indictments and trial be discontinued because he is no longer in office? What is the remedy for a US president that is found to have committed a crime while in office, that is after he has left office?

Thanks for contributing to our conversation but you haven't added anything new. I already said that impeachment is based on the whims of congress. I don't really know who you're arguing with.

However, what is still up for debate is whether you can impeach someone who has already left office. I argued that it could lead to something like Obama getting impeached whenever republicans take hold of congress which doesn't make any sense.

You'd have seen all this if you'd read my arguments.

You talk like you have never been to niaja. Nigeria has an illiteracy rate of over 60% and worse for women. Even the so called literate are barely informed. Most girls in Nigeria have no idea of their reproductive cycle or reproductive health. So you are asking too much of the average Nigerian lady (and even guys) to know how to prevent pregnacy.

The only contraceptive method most people here know is condom, and condoms present it's own issues. Like;
It's propensity to tear (especially the cheap ones), sex might be spontaneous and no time to find one, and it's difficult to a strictly adhere to constant use in a long and stable relationship, especially when the couples live together.

In terms of contraceptives, believes Nigerians don't possess the discipline to take a tablet everyday, and girls generally believe contraceptive tablets and injection has side effects. My wife says contraceptives make women gain weight. I honestly don't know how true it is, but we use the counting/ safe days method. She has the app downloaded on her phone.

About adoption, the adoption process and laws in Nigeria is crazy. First hospitals can't take unwanted babies for adoption purposes, they don't have the rights. I know of no government adoption agency. There are some non government orphanages that do adoption, but it's crazy. I had a former neighbour while I was living in V/I that adopted a baby, she told me she was only able to adopt after a waiting period of 2 years, and had to pay more than N100,000. She said that the waiting list was very long, and the children that are in demand are those that were picked up on the roads or dropped anonymously on their door step, in which the mothers are unknown. Once the mother is known, no one will want to adopt the baby because of future legal problems. Our adoption laws are very weak.

To me criminalising abortion is a worse evil than legalising and controlling it. There is just no sane reason for criminalising it. It only endangers the lives of young poor and vulnerable women. It makes procuring abortion exorbitant and out of reach of poor women. The well to do are not affected at all, as they can afford to pay any price. Even in ultra conservative Catholic Northern Ireland, before the decriminalisation of all forms of abortion, girls from rich families pay thousands of euros travelling to Europe to procure abortion.

The reasons for banning abortions are purely religious and has no foundation in logic.
In terms of population, the world is already close to 8 billion and is set to double in 50 years. All these despite the high abortion rate. Human population only hit 1 billion just about 200 years ago. This means we took 150,000 years to hit 1 billion from our evolutionary beginnings. Now we add 1 billion every 9 or so years.

If we talk psychological trauma, an unwanted child is more traumatic to the mother than aborting it. If you have been around unwanted children you would cry for their plight and sufferings. If it was in the 60s and 70s when the family extended structure was still strong, children born out of wedlock were cared for by the whole family. But, now in the 21st century where the extended family structure has broken down, and everyone is for himself and God for us all, unwanted children suffer neglect and even abuse.

One of the greatest fuel of instability and destabilisation in a country is having a mass of poor, illiterate, unproductive and desperate young men. They are easy recruits for religious, political and social extremism. Nigeria at present is sitting on a keg of gun powder, it only needs a spark to ignite it.

Any country that hopes to develop must control it's population.

I have a friend that his father died last year, but his uncle who was running his father's company claimed his father wrote a will in which he handed over the whole company and most of the company to his uncle and the second wife along with the children of the second wife. My friend actually lived in US and was not involved with his father's company. His father died while staying with him in the US and had been taking care of him for 5 years since he suffered stroke. He was actually buried in the US as he died during the covid lockdown.

Anyway, when the will was read, it was discovered to be forged, the signature did not my match and it was dated on the date he was not in the country.

The case is already with the police, but everyone including the police and family is asking my friend to settle out of court.

What do you advice my friend to do.
