You link is at variance with your claims. You said; There was a protectorate and colony of Lagos , that was not part of Southern protectorate. That protectorate is today's SW.But this is the quote from your link; Lagos Colony was a British colonial possession centered around the port of Lagos in what is now southern Nigeria. It was annexed on 06 August 1861 and declared a colony on 05 March 1862. The colony established a protectorate over most of Yorubaland between 1890 and 1897. The colony and protectorate were incorporated into Southern Nigeria in February 1906 and Lagos became the capital of the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria in January 1914 |
pazienza:If Lagos was not part of the southern protectorate, then what was it under? Northern protectorate? Besides, the Lagos we are talking about was only Lagos Island and Ikoyi. |
pazienza:What was the political structure called, or didn't it have a name? |
DoctorAlien:I found a couple of physicists on the site. This is what I found on googling their names; Thomas G. Barnes (August 14, 1911 – October 23, 2001) was an American creationist, who argued in support of his religious belief in a young earth by making the faulty scientific claims that the Earth's magnetic field was consistently decaying and that Einstein's theory of relativity was incorrect. In effect he is saying E = mc2 is incorrect. There is another Eugene Chaffin , Who makes wild hypothesis on accelerated nuclear decay, Eugene Chaffin provides theoretical possibilities for accelerated nuclear decay, which seems to be the main solution the participants of RATE lean towards. He concludes that the beta-decay mechanism is not well understood and may provide solutions for the amount of radioactive decay that appears to have occurred in the past. [See John Woodmorappe’s perspective: Billion-Fold Acceleration of Radioactivity Demonstrated in Laboratory in the same issue pp. 4–6. Written after this book was published—Ed.]So scientific paper whatsoever detailing his research, so we can even know what he is talking about. Can't find anything on Prof. Sung-Do Cha, save his preaching the Christian gospel of the earth is 6,000 years. I doubt he is a physicists. Non of them even attempt to discuss the speed of light issue. |
pazienza:That's was why I put the word unofficial. Asaba and lokoja were where the British started their colonial administration of Southern Nigeria, even before making Calabar the first official capital. No one is arguing that Asaba is/was an igbo enclave. The bone of contention was if Asaba had ever been under the same political structure with other igbo areas in the history of Nigeria. |
pazienza:Please read up on colonial administration of Nigeria instead of making conjectures based on wishes. Asaba was in fact the first the first unofficial capital of the southern protectorate. Asaba was a division under the benin province. All other eastern areas were under the Onitsha and owerri provinces. |
GARBTY:Tacha ke? Tacha is bigger than big brother, in fact Tacha can pay the salaries of both Ebuka and big brother added together. |
selemempe:So because the coast of a country is designated international waters, the country will not have exclusive economic zone again? Because a place is designated international waters means every Tom, dìck and Harry can navigate it's rivers without permission? Go and ask what the Ijaws did to the dredging company that Abacha contracted to dredge the river Niger from the seas to kaduna that was to pass through Onitsha. The Ijaws blatantly refused dredging of their rivers and Abacha could do nothing. |
MelesZenawi:Edo state was never part of then biafra but, former Bendel (Edo and delta ) is. Please explain. Right from the creation of Nigeria, the south east had never been in the same political structure with present delta and Edo states, I don't understand how you guys now want to force the whole of delta into your country. I can't talk about the former eastern regions that shared the same eastern region with you guys. |
MelesZenawi:Abeg sound it loud and clear to kanu and it's IPOB gang. The minute you quit adding non igbo Niger Deltans to your Biafra the more support you will get from them. |
LordReed:Then that's insanity or at best cognitive dissonance. How can you believe that the universe is 6,000 years old, but light you are looking at rights now from quasars left 13 billion years ago. |
DoctorAlien:No PhD holder in physics can hold the view that the earth is 6000 years. Physics is the letters, alphabet and currency of the material universe. A mere look at our nearest neighbouring galaxy, andromeda with is 2 million light years away, tells you that the light you are seeing now from the galaxy left 2 million years ago. |
Can it be worse than Trump and his daughter and son in law? |
SLAP44:I can't speak for others, but tell me what blood connections Urhobos, Isokos, itsekiris and Binis have with the igbos. Goodluck Jonathan was not on the ballot, but tell me which tribe the two regions voted for. Which thousands of SS people have herdsmen killed? Maybe Igbo speaking SS people. How many Isokos, Urhobos, Ijaws or itsekiris have herdsmen killed. When they tried my Binis brothers, they did not wail or cry, but showed the Fulani herdsmen the stuff they are made of. |
SLAP44:So voting patterns of the last two general elections is the yardstick you use to link SS and SE destinies together? Interesting. It was all about Ebele Goodluck Jonathan. Since you guys adopted him as your only begotten son, the Niger delta has not problem allying with the igbos. But what has happened since the last elections, APC has been making inroads into the Nigerdelta, starting with Edo. Now, let the south east present a core igbo presidential candidate and the North present an Hausa fulani candidate and see what happens. |
Ekpeitit:Sad but that's the bitter truth. The average non igbo Niger deltans trust the Hausa fulani more than the igbos, even more than the Yorubas. It is the belief that once you reach a gentleman's agreement with the Hausa Fulanis, you can be rest assured that he will not cheat or circumvent the agreement. That cannot be said for our igbo and yoruba brothers, they will most certainly circumvent the agreement and cheat you. |
kettykin:I was just correcting the impression (rather boasting), that igbos own 80% of the land in Abuja. They can own the house, but they cannot own the land. Let me school you a bit; The Crown is the only absolute owner of land in England and Wales. Hence, when you buy land/property what you are really buying is the title, not the land. This is also why ownership is ultimately determined by the land registry and not simply based on a sales contract. |
sassysure:You guys love bandying the word hate around. You guys are the one that hate everybody else and it's you guys that shout hate, when presented with facts. Renewal of lease is at the discretion of the state government. Besides, governments can acquire or seize lands for its use, it is only required to pay conpensation for your remaining lease. |
The main reason the capital was moved from Lagos was mainly security. Security of the government against coups and security of the country against foreign invasion. The seat of government Dondan Barracks and State house (marina) were security nightmares. It was very prone to coups as it is surrounded by Two major Barracks - Bonny camp and Dodan Barracks. All a soldier has to do to overthrow the government was to take control of the two Barracks in a lightening strike. Another major disadvantage of Lagos as the seat of government is that it is too close to the sea. An advanced navy could sneak into the marina with a submarine undetected and overthrow the government with special forces, while an aircraft carrier wait off the coast to begin a full invasion. An invasion could be carried out within a few hours. Remember, Saddam Hussain sacked the Kuwaiti seat of government within 12 hours of invasion. Another problem with Lagos was that it was easy to isolate the seat of government from the rest of the country. Just blow up the bridges that connect the Lagos island from the mainland and the government would be isolated. It would be impossible to bring in troops to repel an attack on the seat of government. |
Grupo:False premise. All land is vested in the state governments, except few that is under the FG by law and acquisition. You can only lease the land for 99 years, after which the land reverts back to the state governments, unless the lease is renewed. |
NORSIYK:Usual chestbeatingism, the OP presented no data whatsoever to support which tribe has the largest land holders in Abuja. One would have expected the claim is backed by data from ministry of the FCT or Federal housing authority (FHA) |
Zionista:False! The UN has no such charter that supports secession. Please state charter and steps expressly provided for. You people have been propagating this falsehood for too long. The only country created by UN resolution is Israel. All other other countries that managed to secede did so after long bitter protracted wars. Most countries gain independence with the permission of the bigger or more powerful country. |
Okoroawusa:I swear kanu and his Ipob crew are comedians, they are better laughs than night of thousand laughs. He can even get more imaginative by saying that Buhari is a clone from Mars, and that he was abducted by an alien spaceship and was transmigrated with a Martian's soul and then returned to Aso Rock. |
What are they protest for again? Jubrin El Sudani is already in Aso Rock sleeping. Abi dem wan do DNA for Ramaphosa also, him fit be imposter from Somalia. |
Saudi Arabia the promoter of radical Islam and the nationality of 15 out of the 19 9/11 highjackers is the closest ally of the US, most especially the Trump administration. So the concept of the US supporting Biafra in order to eliminate radical Islam is faulty ab initio. |
kikake:Watin consign me with sharia, the same way with watin consign me with Biafra? Watin I dey find for Kanu, Kebbi, Sokoto, Bornu and all the sharia states? I no dey sell okrika, I no dey sell spare parts. Even Abuja, I no go. I shuttle between Lagos and Warri. I do my businesses in Lagos. |
Earthquake1:Typical Don quixote. |
Earthquake1:You guys crave attention. We are having fun indulging you guys. It's been a while since IPOB has had any attention. We have not heard from you guys since the Ekwerenmadu German debacle and Arrest Buhari Japan fiasco. You just got about 20 igbo women together and viola "rivers women are protesting for Biafra". |
Earthquake1:Whish one consign me. As long as una no carry una madness reach Warri. |
I can count about 18 IPOB women. Small time IPOB will come out with a caption "massive protest in Rivers State in support of IPOB". |
frowland:That you are paying 25k per month with prepaid shows your consumption is more that 800kwh per month, that's about 26 kwh per day. Now that's some heavy load. You must have at least 3 a/cs switched on at least 10 hours a day. If you were paying only 6k per month before, someone else must be paying the difference. The discos spread such loss on other unfortunate Nigerians. To generate 1kw of electricity, the generators need to buy massive generators, fuel or gas, pay maintenance costs and staff. Then they sell to the distributors through the transmission company. All these costs money. It's insanity to use a service without paying for the amount of service you are using, but estimate what you use. |
Akshow:You must have switched channel when he also mentioned ijaw, Nigerdelta and igbo kwenu. |
