pryme:I have also faced a similar case before at a magistrate court. I only got justice after I cried foul and threatened to write a petition to chief judge lagos. Imagine, I was the one suing and the judge started making me look like the defendant. |
hedonistic:Does separation of powers amount to some people or class of people being above the law? For example, if the chairman of NJC should shoot someone in broad daylight light, NJC must find him guilty before he can be prosecuted? |
pryme:That's the crust of the matter. How is it possible for the NJC to judge on matters against it own members - especially it's chairman. It is like asking executives of a club or an association to preside of matters of their chairman or president. A typical example is the justics Salami vs Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu feud, The NJC automatically took sides with its chairman. They ordered the suspension and investigation of Salami, but did not do the same with Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu. One of Nigeria's greatest problem is corrupt judges, their damage to society is far worse than corrupt politicians, most of the people supporting the chief justice have never had the trauma of facing a corrupt judge. |
apasico:Why lie with so much confidence. The NJC never recommended the sacking of Salami, what the NJC did was to recommend the suspension of justice Salami to allow for investigation of the case against him. After investigations nothing was found on him and the NJC recommended a reinstatement, but Jonathan decided to fire instead. |
MONIKERREVEALER:Why won't I pontificate to the great igbos on whats best for them, when I am igbo by marriage. Don't you guys pontificate to the greats whites (Americans and the Europeans), after marrying an oyinbo. I know many igbos in London claiming ' I am bri-ish' just because they have British passport courtesy of marriage. Kim Jong Un also call himself supreme leaders and not supreme ruler. Same thing with the Ayatollah, Ali Khomeini. |
IkpuMmadu:You are still talking of intra tribe conflict. Same thing happened in ancient Greece, Rome, China and in fact all nations. Even the US started out Republican. If republicanism works all societies would not have abandoned it. Republicanism is the most basic primitive form of government. Even the Jews were Republican and always in conflict until David United the 12 tribes. Also..when the colonials came..the Igbo Came together and fought them for 30yrs ..the highest in the country and AfricaIgbos fought the colonialists for 30 years! You mean the igbos as a tribe fought the British for 30 years? With Spears, bows and arrow? A feat even the mighty Benin Empire could not match. Abeg provide evidence and links. Now Biafra came! They came together and defendedThe Biafran crisis was an existential one, just like the Jews during the WW2. The igbos were being massacred in the north and felt they needed a homeland where they would be safe. |
MONIKERREVEALER:I hate arguing with an inexperienced and uninformed overzealous youth. Republicanism cannot work in modern world. Even in ancient world republicanism led to chaos, example is ancient Republican Greece, where every city was autonomous. Eventually Greece adopted monarchy. Republicanism worked in igbo land then because the units were tiny villages with little external threats or influence. If any of the major powers had invade igbo land then, they would have plucked the tiny autonomous villages one by one. This so called Republicanism is the bane of igbo political disadvantage in the Nigerian nation. No one is seen as the rallying point of the igbos, even Ojukwu had problems rallying the igbos on a common politic cause. Even Kanu cannot rally the igbos on a common cause. Yes he is worshiped as a god by the poor and not so poor masses, but the political, business and even religious elites hate his guts. |
MONIKERREVEALER:Be care full what you wish for, you just might get it. MNK would be worse than KJU (Kim Jong Un) by his antecedents so far. He already calls himself supreme leader. |
b0rn2fuck:How you you think you can get an igbo president in 2023 if APC wins the next elections? Remember, APC is a party you hate so much and are not likely to get 5% of votes from you guys |
Admin401:But trump also agreed and preached in 2004 that a wall should not stop a determined person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ID2bU7sAJA |
Yinka Odumakin is insinuating that he and el-rufai scammed Jonathan into appointing Amina Zakari into INEC. Decode this; Goodluck Jonathan, as part of reforms at INEC, had called on Civil Society Organisations to recommend someone who could take a position as a national commissioner at INEC.Meaning Jonathan wanted someone with ties to Civil Society Organisations at INEC. Odumakin said el-Rufai told him of Zakari, who had worked under him as a Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.El-Rufai recommended Amina Zakari who had no ties whatsoever with Civil Society Organisations. He said he collected Zakari’s curriculum vitae from el-Rufai and handed it over to the late Oronto Douglas, who was the Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Research, Documentation, and Strategy.419 and nepotism. |
Giddymoney:Why are you guys so obsessed with the president? You have your governor who collects billions of naira monthly and yet do absolutely nothing, you scream president. You governor collects bail out from the federal government for the sole purpose of paying salaries, and yet most of them do not pay, you continue to shout Buhari. Now, Buhari is advising that you should not vote for any governor who refuses to pay salaries - APC or PDP, you are shouting dullard. Na Wa O! |
SalamRushdie:But if the story is reversed like "100 Nigerian soldiers killed by Boko Haram" it would be a huge truth, and you will be celebrating. |
Memories12411:Criticism in other climes is taken as a former of encouragement, as it points out flaws in design and concept, so the designer or inventor can improve design. In Nigeria any form of criticism is taken as enmity, jealousy and bad belle. You cannot pass a PHD or even a Bsc desertification without serious criticism. This designer is going about the design and assembly of this electric bucket in a totally wrong way. All the component parts for the electric kettle can be found at Alaba international, the only problem is the plastic container. That is the problem most small electronic producers have in Nigeria. People resort to using all sorts of plastic containers meant for other things to design and produce their products. Some people even use water pvc pipes to make led touch lights. The best way to make such thinks is to use an injection molding machines to mold your plastics to specification, but then the machines are expensive and the moulds are also very expensive apart from being intricate. There is nothing innovative in putting a heating element inside a bucket. The problem is the design of the container or kettle itself and the safety features incorporated. |
NinjaMetahuman:No one is saying that they are not selling in Cambodia, what we are saying is that safety precautions has to be taken against fire and health hazards. The plastic must be manufactured without harrmful chemical additives that can cause health problems. Besides, that type of bucket will never be allowed in the UK, US or other advanced nations due to safety concerns. |
NinjaMetahuman:This picture you provided confirm what we have been saying. The whole kettle did not catch fire, but only yhe part directly in contact with the element melted . If you try the same experiment with ordinary plastic like the one used in making paint bucket, the whole bucket will catch fire. I have seen women that use coal to roast corn use plastic pieces to light the coals. |
Mbenny:No. I don't use boiling ring. I have electric kettles, hot water dispenser and normal aluminium kettle that can be used on stove or gas cooker. Scientists have been warning for years for people to avoid using plastic cups, mugs and bottles to drink hot water. They recommend using ceramic or glass containers to store and drink hot water to avoid health complications caused by chemicals from the plastic. Read this report; https://www.google.com/amp/www.omilights.com/why-we-should-not-drink-tea-or-coffee-in-plastic-cup/amp/ |
Abeg supporters of this David Vance should refresh my memory. which ethnic tension occurred in 1988 that resulted in femi Sorry's parents and other Yorubas fleeing to the UK? Are we sure that this guy is not on some hallucinating drugs? |
Mbenny:This paint bucket heater is both a fire and health hazard, if you and your friend are using it I will advise you to stop immediately. I do not see a thermostat incorporated, I do not even see a switch or fuse. In normal electric kettles, the thermostat is situated with the switch at the top or at the base. Yes, you might not have experienced fire hazard yet, probably because you alone is using the contraption, but by the time a wife and kids starts using this in a home, it can easily lead to disaster. It's a health hazard, because paint bucket plastic is not designed to store hot water, not to talk of boiling water in it. The hot water will dissolve the harmful chemicals used in the manufacture of the bucket and is carcinogenic when consumed. This is the same reason people are adviced to stop using ordinary plastic cups to drink tea. Normal electric kettles are made with special plastic that dies not contain harmful chemicals. Paint buckets are highly flammable. Experiment throwing a piece in open flame and watch it burn. The one plastic used in manufacture of electric kettle does not burn. Even if water is not filled to the top of the 20 litre bucket, you will still need 3 to 4 litres to cover the heating element. To boil 4 litres with the shown element, which would not be more than 1500 watts would take hours. Note that the bucket diameter is big and open, so would lose lots of heat to the air. I once had a 5 litre, 3000 watts, metal electric kettle, it took more that 30 minutes to bring the full kettle to boil. |
Mbenny:The plastic kettle has lots of safety features, first it has a thermostat that switches off the current once the water starts to boil, the kettle will not allow current past through if there is no water and the plastic used to make the kettle is flame and heat resistant plastic. In comparison, the heater in paint bucket contraption has no thermostat and the plastic is highly flammable. The paint bucket has no insulation whatsoever, it will take a very long time (and power) to bring 20 litres of water to boil. Besides, why would anyone want to boil 20 litres of water? |
gare:Please learn to be focused in your thoughts and arguments instead of arguing all over the place. The topic at hand is the call by PDP for the resignation or firing of Amina Zakari from INEC because of being a close relative of Buhari. I asked, why is her being related to Buhari (even if true) an issue now, when it was not an issue in the last 2 elections. Now, if you want to debate the performance or otherwise of Buhari, that is a topic for another thread and has nothing to do with Amina Zakari. PDP instead of campaigning on what they have to offer that is different from the current situation are campaigning on irrelevant issues like Buharis certificate, Amina Zakari's sack and resignation, jubril from Sudan, back to daura, etc. |
gare:Can you then explain a conflict of interest that applies now that did not apply in the last 2 elections. |
shachris02:True, but the marriage was said to be short lived, and that the marriage was over before Amina Zakari was born. Buhari lived in the emir (Amina's father's house) for most of his childhood.Baseless conjecture. Buhari was said to do his primary and secondary education in his home town or near his home town As you probably know, Buhari was born on December 17, 1942 in Daura. Six years later, he went to primary school in his hometown and in Mai'adua, where he was schooled until the age of 10. In 1953, Buhari attended a middle school in Katsina, where he studied until 1956 before moving on to Katsina Provincial Secondary School (it is now known as Government College Katsina). So how and when did he spend most of his childhood at the emir's palace in jigawa? Amina spent most of her childhood being raised by Buhari's sister.More conjecture. How would Amina have spent most of her childhood being raised by Buhari's sister, when the only credible source said Buhari's sister had divorced her father before she was even born? So what happened to her own mother, why was Amina Zakari not raised by her own mother? You know emirs usually has lots of wives, are you saying Buhari's sister raised all the children of all the wives of her emir husband? Remember premium times said they've reached this conclusion after interviewing several source and evaluating several facts.I never saw a single source interviewed in the report. Maybe you have the full report where the sources were and several facts are stated, why not please share the full article with us. Now tell me how this lady is not related to Buhari. You are yet to provide any evidence of relationship of this lady with Buhari. |
justbusy:Where did I bring your mother into this. I was only reminding you that it is someone's mother that FFK was calling Rogue and you are cheerleading. |
jrusky:The woman denied being related to Buhari, the presidency denied any relationship. The person that alleged relationship said her father married Buhari's sister, but the marriage ended before she was born. Now, if you have evidence of blood relationship, why not present it instead of using abusive words on her. Even in a law court, the burden of proof lies in the person making the accusations. |
justbusy:So calling a respectable woman, who is a mother and wife, a Fraud and a rogue without any evidence, is your idea of basic right to speech. In that case nairaland must allow that same freedom of speech to call you or your mother any explicit word or words I like. |
SultanYoung:Bulls! Sex shows strength, virility and vitality of a man. Sex is energy and man with low Sex drive will exhibit low energy. Most successful throughout history had exceptionally high sexual energy. Most powerful rulers, Kings, business men, artists, etc had extremely high sexual energy and had multiple sexual partners, ie wives, concubines and mistresses. I am not advocating for sexual irresponsibility, but what I am saying chastity will only work for the weak man. |
“I reminded the government that we were spending more than we were earning; that very soon, the country would not be able to fund the budget… Unfortunately, the government then refused to listen to my advice”, he told the gathering. This quote should be written in bright colours and laminated or preferably written in neon lights and pasted on front of PDP and it's supporters, whenever they say or write that Buhari caused the recession Nigeria went through. |
Shikini:You people know how to pull arguments and figures from your dreams or should I say nightmares, I provided links to the Nigerian constitution dealing with how certain officials of government can be terminated, you made all sorts of assertions without providing any links or proof. Do you think writing in bolded fonts is enough proof? The constitution says " Subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of this section, a person holding any of the offices to which this section applies may only be removed from that office by the President acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate praying that he be so removed for inability to discharge the functions of the office (whether arising from infirmity of mind)" And you are here imputing another condition to the constitution |
micolaj:Since you are having difficulty reading or comprehending or both, I will take the time to quote excepts and explain in in simplier terms. It’s also true that Buhari’s sister was once married to Mrs. Zakari’s father. But this was over 60 years ago before Mrs. Zakari was born. Besides, the marriage was short-lived and did not produce a child. From the article, Amina Zakaki was not alive the time her father married married buhari's sister, meaning she was never a step daughter- step mother relationship. Mrs. Zakari as the best graduating student of her class with a second class upper in Pharmacy from Ahmadu Bello University in 1980. Before ABU, Mrs. Zakari had finished her secondary education as one of the best students from the once prestigious Queen’s College, Lagos. From the article we can see that Mrs Amina Zakari is more than qualified for the job. |
Saao:Did you read the links or you only read the headline? I understand the article is long ang Nigerian youth are said to be lazy, but take the effort to read the article in full. You will arrive at the opposite conclusion. |

Its just a simple question that need a simple answer. Apc we know lies a lot the very day apc members stop lying rapture is at hand.
