naijaking1:You are not just hateful, you are also highly ignorant. Amina Zakari's tenure as INEC commissioner cannot expire, unless she resigns or is fired by the president (with agreement by 2/3 majority of the Senate ). Please read section 157 of the 1999 constitution. 157. (1) Subject to the provisions of subsection (3) of this section, a person holding any of the offices to which this section applies may only be removed from that office by the President acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate praying that he be so removed for inability to discharge the functions of the office (whether arising from infirmity of mind or body or any other cause) or for misconduct. |
Kennydoc:Please tell me how her presence would be felt as head of the collation centre? Yes, I agree she should not be made INEC chairman, due to her alleged closeness to Buhari, but she should not be sacked or rendered inactive because of the suspicion of that closeness, more soever, because of the fact that she had never been found wanting in her duties. She did this same job in 2015, so why the hue and cry over the same responsibility now? In the past, did the appointment of INEC chairman from other regions prevent or even reduce rigging? |
WritePal:I do not understand you people anymore o. Your arguments are getting more senseless by the second. Are you saying that none of the 12 members of the national electoral commissioners, or any the 36 state's resident electoral commissioners ( RECs) (that are appointed by the president and comfirmed by the Senate), must come from the same region or state of a current president? |
UncleJudax:Was it Jonathan that appointed Magu into the EFCC? Was Amina Zakari's appointment as INEC commissioner not approved by the national assembly? Please explain the similarly between Magu and Amina Zakari to me. |
InvertedHammer:Has Adebayo or Okeke managed a collation centre before? Since Amina Zakari is already the head of welfare at INEC, who would be better placed to head the collation centre? |
naijaking1:What did GEJ want to prove by appointing Buhari's niece or is it in law as commissioner in an election between him and the same Buhari? Are you aware that Maurice Iwu conducted the worse elections in the history of mankind? Even the winner of the elections was ashamed to acknowledge the election. You do not need the mother of the president as chairman to compromise and election. |
UncleJudax:And how does magu's issue relate to Amina Zakari'? O |
Kennydoc:Even though I agree that Buhari's appointments are nepotically skewed to favour the north east, this Amina Zakari's case is a non issue and making PDP a laughing stock. If PDP had been complaining about the chairman, then they would have had a point, but they are going after a woman they themselves appointed to the same position just 4 years earlier. PDP and is supporters seem to be deaf, dumb and blind to reason. INEC had already explain that the poor woman has nothing whatsoever to to with result collation, but only make sure the Collation Centre is ready and functional for the Collation of the result by the INEC chairman. The INEC chairman is the Collation officer and electoral officer for presidential elwctions. You guys just want the woman sacked for any stupid excuse you can come up with. |
shachris02:Sorry to say, but you are arguing irrationally (to put it mildly). You provided a source that said a marriage was short lived. You who knew nothing about the said marriage is insisting that the marriage is intact, and that unless you see a divorce certificate, you will insist that the person that informed you about the marriage is lying or ignorant , and that the marriage is or was long lived. Now does that sound like a sane argument? Meanwhile, you never asked for a marriage certificate or even asked the type of marriage that was done in the 50s, whether it was a civil weddings, traditional wedding or Islamic wedding. Only a civil wedding requires a divorce certificate. |
Fayose na learner where Dino dey. You know how many Dino acts or films dey YouTube? Dino dey sing, dance and even do James Bond. He jumped out of a moving police car (ghen ghen), lived in the jungle for a full day. If you see the way Dino fainted, you will nominate him for the Oscars. |
shachris02:But it was president Jonathan that appointed her INEC commissioner, are you suggesting Buhari fire her because of his so called relationship? In 2011, Zakari was appointed as one of the National Electoral Commissioners at INEC by former President Goodluck Jonathan.[12] Her mandate at INEC includes her political parties’ supervision via the Political Parties Monitoring Committee. Zakari also chaired the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC)[13] with responsibility for party system consolidation. Until her appointment as Acting Chairman, Zakari was chairman of the INEC Planning Monitoring and Strategy Committee effective November 2014.PDP first said she was his sister, later they revised it to his niece, now they say she is his sisters step daughter. Now, we are hearing that she was never his sisters step daughter, because her father divorced Buhari's sister even before she was born. |
dunkem21:Na juju him go use? All minimum wage issues in the past was achieved after strikes or threats of strikes by labour. How will the FG force state governments to pay N30k? |
dunkem21:Semantics. What is the difference between benchmark and minimum wage? |
grandstar:I am encouraged that a few people understands the way modern economics works, because it seems most people and the various governments are stuck in 1960s economic principles where international trade was difficult and highly regulated, so countries were required to be self sufficient in most things. Today parts for any manufactured products can come from a dozen different countries? So it makes sense to specialise. You specialise in areas you have comparative advantage. China is a unique country in that that the government promoted the creation of industrial zones that produced numerous simple parts to form a formidable supply chain for China and the rest of the world. The government invested heavily in infrastructure and developed an educational system to support these industrial zones. For now, no one can compete in producing parts for industries around the world. That is why the trade war with china will also hurt the US badly, as China would still be essential in the supply chain of goods made in the US. I honestly do not see the wisdom of manufacturing a car in Nigeria. We do not have the man power, technology, infrastructure and supply chain to make a car in Nigeria, the best we can do is import most of the parts or components and then assemble. |
hargbolahan01:We are operating a free market economy, so sentiments counts for little. If innoson cars are good and relatively cheap, with good after sales, services and spare parts, you would not be forcing any government or any individual to buy. There are many good made in Nigeria products that are competing well in the Nigerian market. Techno phones, infinix phones, Zinox computers are a few products selling well without any sentiments attached. As I always say, a government is a reflection of the social and economic values of its citizens, why will you expect the government to buy innoson cars when the citizens are not buying it. Besides, innoson does not have the capacity to meet 1% of the Nigerian car demand. |
lightblazingnow:The emperor clothes is invisible, untouchable and unsenseable with ordinary sense. It's requires different level of sense to see it. |
hargbolahan01:Some of you guys talk as if you don't think before typing on your phone or computer. Which Nigeria government officials drives or have ever driven a made in Nigeria car (assuming there are any cars actually made in Nigeria )? Is your governor driving a made in Nigeria car? Are you driving a made in Nigeria car? Is Atiku driving a made in Nigeria car or did he drive one when he was vice president? |
adelacuna:If you don't understand why people were after Ben Bruce for criticising Nike for manufacturing Super Eagle's jersey in the US, but shortly after manufactured his own book on common sense revolution in the same US, then you do not understand the word Hypocrisy. This is the tweet from Ben Bruce; "I bought made in Nigeria @innosonvehicles and made in Aba clothes because I believe in Nigeria. That’s why I started #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira campaign. We can’t grow our economy from abroad. We can only grow if we patronise our own goods. @NGSuperEagles could’ve been made in Aba." |
DonFreshmoney:APC did not appoint Obama's aid as campaign manager, APC hired the same firm that Obama used as campaign strategist or consultant. The firm called AKPD Message and Media had also worked for some other parties in other African countries - https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2014/02/2015-elections-apc-hires-foreign-consultant/amp/ Jonathan also used Cambridge Analytica, a British consultants as strategist in 2015. |
FearGodinall:You are comparing in isolation. Why not denominate the two budgets in dollar value using the existing exchange rate in 1999 and now, then we can compare. Please also factor in Nigeria's yearly inflation rate of about 11 - 13% and a population growth rate of about 5% yearly. |
PhenomenalMorgan:Wrong decision. If you understand social media marketing, it's highly local. You have to interract with people with the language, style and culture they understand. How will a foreigner have social interaction with Nigerian facing NEPA issues? How will he even take on BMC people on nairaland. He will be whitewashed. To me hiring a foreigner as a social media consultant for an election in Nigeria is a waste of money. |
aonag:Are you insinuating that BBC and other international news reporters have men on the ground in Baga? Even local reporters are not on ground in most volatile parts of the North east. This is an area that even politicians and senior military officials refuse to go in the past. |
See example of alBaghgadi's comrade in thief. Today Is Our Dollar Sunday, It Was Powerful, Everybody Gives Offerings With Dollars, Child Of God, This Week You Will Count In Dollars, In Jesus Name. These pastors are worse than armed robbers.
|
alBHAGDADI:Nothing person no go hear from spiritual scammers. So Jesus came to this world to enforce honouring of tithes and offerings. So the condition of salvation through Christ is honouring Jesus by dashing pastors 10% of your salary for life? I thought salvation is free according to the new testament. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Romans 5:15 But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord Okay, go about fornicating and sleeping with prostitutes without condom. When you get infected with a deadly disease, call you Jesus to heal you.How does the above quote concern what we are talking about? What concerns fornication, prostitutes and deadly diseases with tithes and first fruits? Besides aren't lots of prostitutes and fornicators Christians? Aren't there millions of tithe paying Christian prostitutes and fornicators? Are you insinuating that Jesus will only heal tithe paying Christian prostitutes and fornicators and abandon non tithe paying ones? |
alBHAGDADI:See format. So you must dash 10% of your earning to a pastor for life before your God can rebuke the devourer from devouring your money, health or any other spirit or demon. So tithes has become more powerful than the name of jesus? In the name of tithes and offerings will you cast out demons, receive healings and do wondrous works. Tithes can move mountains. If ye say to the mountain, move, after paying your Tithes, the mountains will obey and be moved. - Gospel according to alBHAGDADI. |
alBHAGDADI:You conflate issues to justify the milking of the society by spiritual con artists. Peter, Paul and the apostles did not elevate the doctrine of tithes and first fruit above love of Man and God. They did not preach that the main purpose of their church is the pampering and worship of the pastors or bishops. Christianity started out as a socialist (or even communist) group.) Material possessions were sold off and used to cater for the group and for charity works. The early pastors never preached salvation by tithes and offerings, and then convert the money for personal use or used the donated money as he liked. The pastors lived the same (if not worse) lifestyles as other members of the church. Christianity had survived and even thrived for close to 2000 years, in all that time pastors, reverends or bishops grew the religion without preaching or collecting tithes and first fruits. They thrived on the donations and patronage of members and people who appreciated the sacrifice they made, and their contributions to society. They did not come with an entitlement mentality, the pastors (Nigeria) of nowadays have. Many other religions and even charity organizations had thrived for millennia, without elevating tithes and offerings to the status of salvation. Most of them thrive on their good name, sacrifices and relevance. Charity organization's are meant to have structure, whereby officials, workers and ordinary members are catered for, with members dues, donations or even time. It is not supposed to be like an monarchy, where everyone lives for the king. Jesus did not live that way, non of the apostles loved that way. So it is moral for pastors to feed fat, wearing expensive suits and flying private jets, while being aware that even one member of his church is starving? And will still be demanding tithes and first fruit from such a person. If that is not wickedness, I don't know what else is. |
paxonel:More than thieves, armed robbers. The OP whole passion is tithes and now first fruits. They just want to scam week minded individuals. One question I always ask these scanners called pastors is that are they allergic to earning their own living? They are so lazy, they want to leech of the sweat members for the rest of their lives. Lazy bums. If they have the powers to give people riches and wealth, through prayers, tithes and first fruits as they cliam, why not show example by working and earning money and then use that money to pay tithes, offerings, first fruits, pledges, etc, and then see how God bless their work. |

MrBrownJay1:Even though most sister do not like to hear it, polygamy is sometimes a necessary evil. In societies in constant conflicts and war, the life expectancy of men is relatively short, thereby skewing the women to men ratio highly in favour of women. The only solution for most women under such circumstances is to marry a married man as second or even third wife. These are the main reason why Judaism and Islam allowed the marriage of multiple wives. The Jews and Arabs were always at war. Another reason for polygamy even in modern times is eligibility. There are relatively fewer men eligible for marriage in relation to available spinsters. Most men would get to their mid 30s to early 40s before they are financially stable enough to marry a wife, meanwhile numerous ladies are available between the ages of 18 to 30 years. Also the life expectancy of men are relatively shorter than that of women, due to stress of providing for the family, therefore men die out quicker than woman, further exasperating the gap between women and men. Without becoming second wives, baby mamas or mistresses, many women would die lonely without any children. |
Pope Francis has reminded Christians that their messiah was born in poverty and said they should focus on love and charity instead of "consumerism." The event in St. Peter's Basilica was attended by 10,000 people.Pope Francis reminded Christians that Christ represented Love, Sacrifice, Humility and charity, but will the new prosperity preachers listen. To them Jesus represents materials things as represented by jets, cars, designer suits, and the elevation of tithes as against charity as a condition for salvation. The worse part is that whichever way wealth is acquired, it's all still a blessing. Poverty is a curse to be broke only by giving of tithes ( to them of course ) |
johndan103:You are right, the one man one vote principle is very flawed as an illiterate and uninformed population cannot be relied to make informed decisions concerning leadership appointments (or elections), but, that is the lesser of two evils. A huge illiterate and poor population is an asset to political, religious and social leaders. They can be easily manipulated to fight the cause of their leaders. A leader with an army of illiterate and poor people, would defeat a small number of literate and wealthy population. Through out history, leaders have led illiterate and sometimes barbaric group of people to conquer more prosperous and richer nations, examples are Vikings, Genghis Khan, Muhammed, ISIS, Boko Haram, and many more. Even kanu relies on the uninformed to propagate his IPOB ideals. |
dometome:Which zeal did Dora Akunyili show that made Jonathan president? Please present pictures of this zeal that Dora Akunyili supposedly showed. Did she protest on the streets of Abuja or faced fierce looking gun wielding security men? She was information minister, she simply got tired of telling lies and told Nigerians that nobody has seen Yar adua as falsely peddled on NTA and other media. |
