Adakintroy:Sometimes one cannot make sense of what you write. It seems your posts are more emotional than sensible. Here is the latest statistics of religious believes; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_religious_populations Christianity makes up about 33% of world religious believers. Christianity and Islam makes up about 58%. The world is primary dominated by two main religion for now. Christianity and islamism. Non of which Summitt to it. (Other religions exist no doubt ) but this are.So because Islam and Christianity makes up less than 60% of world religion, the remaining 40% who hold different belief systems should be discarded and persecuted? I now see reason for Nazism. Now you are going to take a handful or exceptions to generalize and claim acceptance. Wears no vote was cast. The honest truth is that for a world that claim freedom of thoughts and believe both at an individual and social group levels we are constantly having things force down our troats. This is still why Nigeria reject it.Who is forcing anything down your throats? It is you people - Christians and Muslims, that want to force everyone else to live by your standard. No homosexual has come to your home, office or any other public place and preached to you to become homosexual. |
Adakintroy:Other religions also believe that their religion draws from the truth, else they would not be adherents of that religion. To you homosexuality is a sin, to many others it is not, so which is the universal truth? So we prescribe we all go our separate ways. So all homos gain true freedom and form their own republic. And so does heterosexual. We cheers to that!.Not practicable or sensible. If you prescribe homos form their own Republic, then every other demographic groups of people should form their own Republic too, like, Christians Muslims, Buddhists, Ifa worshippers, satanists, blacks, fulanis, igbos, etc. Even believers within the same religion should former a Republic, like catholics and pentecostals. Then in a hundred years time we go back to check on both population. Which of the two set do think will still be striving. Also wrong conclusion. As long as the two societies are not closed and migration is permitted, newly born homos born in the heterosexual society will migrate to the homosexuals society and those that convert back to heterosexual (probably they were bisexual to begin with) will migrate back to the heterosexual society. |
Adakintroy:The bible is not the standard for over 1/3 of the world population. Even with people with the bible as standard, lots of them accept homosexuality as a natural phenomenon and a few of them are gays. Now, are you going to force your standard on everyone else? Then you are no different from ISIS or Boko Haram that wants to force it's standard on everyone. |
tiredoflife:Are you on some sort of drug? what you wrote there is so incoherent that no one can decipher what you are talking about. You people from a certain part of the county are experts in making conjectures for all other parts of the country. That was how you guys conjured up votes for Jonathan in the Middle belt and south west, claiming Jonathan will win Kaduna, Lagos, Benue, etc. I hope you guys will not start wailing again after the 2019 elections. |
tiredoflife:Which constitution are you quoting from? its definitely not the 1999 constitution. All a candidate needs to be elected president of Nigeria is a simple majority and at least 1/3 votes in at least 2/3 states in Nigeria. Article 134 (2) of the Nigerian Constitution 134. (1) A candidate for an election to the office of President shall be deemed to have be been duly elected, where, there being only two candidates for the election - |
tomakint:Internationally connected business man? are you talking about Atiku or Dangote? Abeg, how many international business does Atiku have? Also name the businesses Atiku has in the South East, North East and North Central? One more thing... Tell us how many wives (and children) your hero has. I am not even talking of concubines. I for one do not trust any man who is unable to control his libido with position of authority. |
Harjibode:And what became of the bank? Do you want Nigeria to suffer the same fate as the bank? |
justtoodark:Please explain how transfer from the SARS unit help their safety? Are they not still going to wear police uniform with their name tags? Will criminals not take revenge on them simply because they were transfered from the unit? Although I do not agree with SARS wearing normal police uniform and walking the streets or manning check points, their excuses are lame. If SARS stay within what their nomenclature suggests Special Anti-Robbery Squad, they would not have any problem, but when they start manning check points to intimidate and extort innocent citizens, then they breed hatred. |
PierreAbutu:Believe me, if the white house wants to hide info on the health of the president, they will. Franklin Roosevelt had a myriad of health problems including cancer and was was confined to a wheel chair, but the American public was never made aware while he was in office. I suspect trump has mental issues and we will never know until he leaves office. |
ArcSEMPECJ:I never said Donald Trump is physically sick, I am of the opinion that Donald Trump is psychological and mentally unfit. Someone that requires huge consumption of caffeine (12 cans of diet coke) to function everyday cannot be expected to be normal Read reports from everyone close to trump, you will see that the white house is having a hard time managing trump. |
35824L:Age has a lot to do with it, not necessarily chronological age, but physical and psychological age. Buhari does not look physically and psychological fit to go through the rigours of governing Nigeria. How many days does he actually sit in aso rock and govern in a year? He spends half the time seeing doctors. How will he go through the rigours of a presidential campaign? Is he fit enough to campaign through the whole 36 states of Nigeria? Hope we are not going to have another "Umuru, are you dead?" episode. |
babyfaceafrica:And does Donald Trump look and sound normal to you? Donald Trump is suffering from the same old age symptoms of dementia that Buhari is suffering. |
tolase220:So it is one wrong that makes a right. |
planetx13:1. He became senate president with 57 out of 109 senators in attendance. 2. No voting actually took place, he was declared elected unopposed at the seating. 3. The "election" took place without the legal proclamation of the Senate by President Buhari. In fact the 8th national assembly of the federal Republic of Nigeria can be said to be an illegality as it was never proclaimed and inauguracted by the president. So if 57 senators can former a quorum to elect senate president, why can't 57 senators seat to impeach a senate president. ( remember 2/3 of 57 is 38). |
omojeesu:But in the context bishop oyedepo was preaching about, the church according to him is winners chapel building with himself as the pastor. |
omojeesu:Does assembly of one another have to involve bishop oyedepo? Do you have to go to winners chapel every Sunday and Wednesday before you are deemed to be in the assembly of one another? What will you call it if 10 people assemble in a house on Sunday morning and praise God and read the bible? |
JADEK01:The issue is what do you understand by church? |
JADEK01:Does assembly of saints equate to church? OK, what do you call assembly of sinners? |
Which verse and chapter in the bible? |
Esseite:APC accepted them because the voters of Akwa Ibom loves those that had robbed them for 16 years and would continue to vote for them. APC needs votes from Akwa Ibom and cannot accept only non robbers with no votes. It all politics. Afterall politics is the acquisition and maintenance of power using all possible means. If Akwa Ibom people could vote a person who robbed them for 16 years as senators, house members and governors, why castigate APC for embracing the people Akwa Ibomites love? |
djon78:My friend it is you that does not understand how the world works. Exxon Mobil and international oil companies do not keep assets in foreign countries. They enter into profit sharing agreement with most countries. Do you know how many countries of the world Exxon Mobil operates in? You are calling facebook, apple, Microsoft, let me ask you why is trump clamping down on China? With trade war? Do you know why? What concerns Facebook, Apple and Microsoft with Trump's trade war? Is China competing with Facebook, Apple and Microsoft? Trump's trade war is to benefit his base, white non degree blue collar workers and rural farmers. He wants to create more jobs for American factory workers and create export market for American farm produce. The next biggest IT revolution that will change our world is artificial intelligence and China is already ahead of US in that area. Even Bill Gates said it because Microsoft is also investing on it. Let me quote Bill Gates as I heard him verbatim; the next big thing to happen is artificial intelligence and Microsoft is focusing on it. One artificial intelligence company is worth more than 10 Microsofts, and China is in the lead. That's why US is fighting back to take us back to when they were controlling things but it can't be because many countries are coming up speedily.China is no where in artificial intelligence or even technology as a whole. China only wait for US or Europe to create a technological breakthrough and then steal the technology. They do not respect international patent laws. This is one reason Trump is mad at China. Japan is way ahead of China in terms of AI. Which Chinese AI company is worth Microsoft before you start talking about 10 times. Apple just became the first trillion dollar company in the world. Coming to the airlines and gulf states there is what we call in business economics competitive advantage. It is the advantage each nation has which enables it to win in the global economy. America is technology, media, global finance. China is low cost manufacturing and global production centre while Germany,Japan and South Korea are specialised hi technologySo what is the competitive advantage of the gulf states? They are not into manufacturing, technology, media, or finance. Ecommence has greatly reduced their trading advantage. You do not need to travel to Dubai anymore to buy made in China goods. you buy direct from alibaba. The Arab nations have leveraged on their natural resources to save and store up huge cash like Abu Dhabi has saved cash of over 1 trillion dollars same with Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait etc. They have massively invested in tourism that's why Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, etc have millions of tourist visitors every year, they invested massively in airline business that's why the Arab Emirates airline carry the highest number of passengers in the world. The Arab nations seems prosperous because they have huge oil reserves and a tiny population. Added to that, they operate absolute monarchy, so the government is very cheap to run. No money wasted for periodic elections, no expensive legislature, no political class that needs to be pampered. The monarchs just give the small population some crumbs, use some money for infrastructure, save some for rainy days and share the remaining. That is why most royal family members are multi billionaires. So my friend they are on top of their game. My only pain is that Nigeria did not use all her opportunity well if not Nigeria is supposed to be a global reckoned force. You cannot compare Nigeria with a population of close to 100,000,000 relying on just about 2,000,000 barrels of crude per day. The money is just not enough to provide social amenities for the citizens, build standard infrastructure, run an expensive democracy, run expensive quasi monarchies the same time and pamper the political elite. There is just not enough money. |
GSA01:This version of events is the only plausible explanation, there is no way Daura would have taken over the national assembly without the authorization or at least the knowledge of the president. |
Ndonu101:Seconded |
PrecisionFx:Do mind Nigerians, the give more prominence to religious edifices than schools, research centres, museums, libraries. Nigeria has no public digital library, no museums, no natural history museums, no observatory, no public learning facility of any kind. All we are building are churches, mosques and shrines. Obviously, we will be slaves to the west and the Orient for our very survival. |
kunleweb:E ya, sorry for your pain. Don't worry you need a miracle job. Just sell all your measly possessions and give seed offerings to your pastor, and your pastor will pray for you to get a meaningful job. |
kunleweb:Best scientific research centres in the country? Provide addresses or websites of these centres, I would love to visit one of them. |
slimtoney:Imagine if this was a factory producing any of those item we waste precious dollars importing. Imagine building a 10,000 capacity factory. The ripple effect on the economy would be huge. But it seems spiritual business is much more profitable with a faster return on investment, while impoverishing the people. The hypocrisy is that poor jobless people would flock the church paying seed offerings for miracle jobs |
iupac120:Nigeria's major problem is religion. It is the the main cause of poor and ineffective leadership. It promotes prayers over work, it promote subservience over accountability. It promotes division, hatred and nepotism. |
HigherEd:Wrong analogy. The alleged $16billion was wasted due to bad management, planning and execution, which is the bane of the whole sub Saharan Africa. We just do not possess high level technical and managerial manpower. $16 might be huge for a private organization like a church, but it is nothing to a government. You pay tax? now that is a lie. Most Nigerians do not pay tax, and for those that pay, most of the money does not get to government coffers. And how is the "voluntary tax" to the churches improve your standard of living? It advances the cause of Christ (which is equal to the cause of the pastors that own the church), but how does it advance the cause of the members paying this "voluntary tax"? Govt chops our money. Instead of us to revolt against govt we do sai baba! And love up to our oppressors. Then we turn to ask how money given to religious houses didn't tar roads, build airports lol.The same way govenment chop our money is the same way Pastors chop your money. The difference is, we can complain when government chop our money, but you cannot even ask questions when pastors chop your money. You worship our own oppressors but turn around and complain government is not giving you good hospitals, roads, food, etc., when you prefer to pay tithes and offerings than tax. Now let me do a little analogy for you once againpoor analogy. Aregbe would manage winners chapel as well as Oyedepo if not better and Oyedepo would be very poor in the management of Osun state. Aregbe does not have sole ownership of Osun state, he is not the general overseer of Osun state. He has to report to the national assembly and has to beg the people before he is elected and re-elected. He has only a definite time to govern osun. He cannot spend Osun money alone. Winners on the other hand is absolute monarchy. The finances of Winners is the same thing as the finances of Oyedepo. He can decide to spend the money anyhow he likes. He does not report or is responsible to anybody. His word is law. With the tithes and offerings that enters winners account every week, Oyedepo will continue to be richer no matter what happens in the general economy. |
Mama peace, come and see your fellow widow or is it widower here on; "We are mightily proud of this young man, an orphan raised by a single mother by coming first nationwide after scoring 364 in the 2018 JAMB examination. We must identify with our son of Boko Haram ravaged Borno who defiled against all odds and became victorious”. he said. |
wizseller:Politics. What do you expect him to say, that the party will die because of the defections? Your midget chairman and fellow zombies said saraki and co's departure didn't matter He went back to his vomit and to meet his kindWhat vomit? I did not remember Buhari or APC having any issue with Akpabio. So since when did u start admitting rogues into your partyWhen you also start admitting rogues in your own party. Don't you think Akpabio too will leave later on like the others? Back to PDPYes he might. It all depends on interests. In politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies, only permanent interests. Your hypocrisy stinksAs much as yours. Why don't u prove you are a party of men of integrityIntegrity in politics? Now tell me, are you supporting PDP because of integrity? Do you know how many frauds cases are on Akpabio?Much less than the fraud cases against Saraki. Buhari nows entertains and welcome the corrupt into his foldNo matter what buhari does, no matter how different he tries to be, he can never get the support of you guys, So should he not try to consolidate and expand his base? |
Baawaa:When Dino Melaye, Saraki and tens of other allegedly corrupt APC politicians defected, it was celebration galore by PDP and their sympathisers, Now when just 1 alegedly corrupt PDP politician defected to APC, PDP and it's supporters suddenly remembered anti-corruption war. |
