LukeSkywalker78:Any proof of that hypothesis. |
LukeSkywalker78:Then why are you postulating that sex (outside marrige) would render a man a failure. |
Alariiwo:Bullshit! Then how come people like president Donald Trump and many other highly successful men are renowned for their sexual prowess. Even Solomon with all his thousands of wives and concubines was highly successful. The reverse is even the case, men with high sexual energy tend to also have high physical and mental energy. |
Blue3k:Government agrees that the private universities are the the future. https://www.nairaland.com/4621725/future-higher-education-belongs-private |
Johnnyessence:No international organization and i mean NO INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION, can use such undiplomatic, uncouth and provocative language against a sovereign government. it sounds more like what you would hear on Radio biafra or from the mouth of Fani-Kayode or Omokri. |
Ziggylady:Please quit quoting that line as the most important thing Jonathan achieved throughout his tenure, it's getting stale. Even though I am one of those who appreciated the gesture, I am getting tired of hearing it. If he had not conceded defeat peacefully, his own blood and that of his family might be among the blood of Nigerians he would have paid for his ambition. |
Blue3k:Government (whether federal, state or local) can no longer fund university education alone, because of sheer number of candidates seeking admission. The existing federal universities are overcrowded, underfunded and no qualified lecturers. Private universities are using the situation to exploit Nigerians seeking higher education. Atiku, OBJ and some others have exploited these situation by charging exorbitant prices and absurd admission conditions. What we need is to declare a state of emergency on the education sector. Education professionals and the government should get together and chart an educational policy that is relevant to our economy and nation. A new curriculum should be designed from primary school to university level. Incentives such as loans, tax breaks and cheap land should be provided for genuine investors in the education sector. If government is ready to provide land, grazing reserves and ranches for cow herders, why not provide the same incentives to educational investors, on which the very survival of the country depends on. |
izzou:Obviously. There is a direct correlation between development and the number and standard of tertiary institutions a country has. A reasonable government would design an educational policy that would foster it's developmental objectives and agenda. In Nigeria there is no educational agenda, citizens just go to school with the sole aim of collecting certificates. 220 higher institutions is grossly inadequate for a population of close to 200million. Now, have you sat down to ask yourself why Nigerian graduate are unable to find work? It it because there are no work, there are no demand for goods and services, they are not skilled enough to find or create work or simply because they are lazy? How can you say there is no work in a country with a population of 200 million? Will the whole 200 million people not eat everyday, not drink, not wear cloths, not fall sick, etc. Nigeria is seen as a gold mind by other developed and developing countries. Countries like Morocco are ready to do anything to get free access into the Nigerian market. |
anuma1:It is because our present president is illiterate that Nigeria had only been able to build only 220 tertiary institutions after close to 60 years after independence and trillions of dollars of oil money? |
USA has 6,426 higher institutions. They admit over 95% of students that apply for admission. China has 5,852 higher institutions that admit almost 98%. Nigeria has less 220 higher institutions that can only admit 22% of UTME students. There are 187,941 accredited primary schools in Nigeria feeding 104,434 secondary schools. How come these 104,434 secondary schools are feeding less than 220 higher institutions? Wahala dey oo!.. An average of 1.7million candidates sit for UTME every year but only 410,000 are admitted.. Worst still, these 220 schools turn out around 320,000 graduates every year and less than 15% of them get a job each year. E jikwem ogu o. N/B - 39,620 Nigerian students are studying abroad. |
After battling with the burden of marriage list from the family, should the prospective groom also contend with a marriage list from the church? Is it proper for the church to issue marriage list to aspiring couples?

FX:I am with you on this one. Estimated billing is illegal. It is like MTN distributing the bill among all users on a master equally irrespective of usage. I feel we can only get justice with the judiciary as the executives and legislative have failed us. Let's form a whatsapp group. |
Unlimited22:Contrary, the guy was not cold and very considerate, else he would not be pouring his heart out here on nairaland. He told the girl that if she went to the party, the relationship is over, and she chose to go. What does that tell you. Nigerians have to learn to start taking responsibility for their actions, instead of pushing it to someone else or look someone else to blame, ie witches, neighbours, family, demons, etc. |
Unlimited22:Different strokes for different folks. Cheating is a no no for me. I have never forgiven a girlfriend that cheated on me. I have never cheated and I don't condone cheating. So what do you want the guy to do? Bear the cost and consequences of his girlfriends cheating? Pay for her medical and legal expenses? You know the girl would need to be taken to hospital to test for HIV and other STDs. What happens if she becomes pregnant, who will bear the consequences? |
Unlimited22:The lady misbehaved? Are you saying going to a party with another guy without the knowledge or permission is termed misbehaving? In other climes, it is called cheating. Even if she was not raped, the relationship should be over the moment the guy discovered she went to the party with another guy. After establishing the facts of the relationship, the guy can assist in helping the lady get justice. |
Osquarefryo:With all these security forces guarding the governor carrying AK47, how come a policeman or some policemen were able to get to the governor and brutalize him to the extent that he was wearing neck and arm casts |
Fayose should join Nollywood, he would make better actor than Mr Ibu. If you believe that teargas was thrown into a crowd and only Fayose was affected then you need to check your inteligence. If you believe that a policeman or policemen can walk up to a sitting governor and brutalize him in spite of loads of security details (including personal thugs), no other person was touched and no witnesses, then you need to check your sanity. |
And the same Jonathan threw caution to the wind in 2014 when he was in power; APC Govs stopped from entering EkitiWe need to keep reminding PDP and its main ally IPOB, that they did worse when they were in power. |
cjrane:and Jonathan was promoting democracy when the police was teargassing Speaker Tambuwal and locking the gate to the national assembly, Blocking Amaechi and other opposition governors from moving around, breaking into APC offices and seizing their computers, etc. |
Clevite:Fayose seek asylum? where? I hope you know he has a case in the UK and US. He can not step foot into the US or UK. He can only seek asylum in China. Have you heard fayose traveling outside Nigeria recently? |
Firefire:Why did you not used the same medium to appeal to the United Nations, United States of America, Britain and European Union to please come to the aid of Nigerians when Governor Fayemi and his convoy was teargassed when he was in a campaign rally in 2014? Police Attack Governor Fayemi And Senator Ojudu During APC Rally In Ado EkitiYou think the United Nations, United States of America, Britain and European Union do not have anything better to do than to waste their men and resources on Nigeria's stupid political shenanigans. As i always say, what goes around comes around. Now, Buhari only needs to load a planeload of money and ferry them to zenith bank in Ado Ekiti with a battalion of soldiers for election rigging in order to get even with PDP which you guys love so much. |
