A Computer Scientist's Explanation To understand this, let's forget about the rather "complex" expression and work with a simplified version. The two actual equations to consider here are: 6÷2×3 = 3×3 = 9 AND 6÷2×3 = 6÷6 = 1 The basic issue here is, multiplication and division, which should come first when a change in priority leads to a change in output? In mathematics, multiplication and division are on the same level and that is why their positions are interchangeable (BODMAS vs PEMDAS). This is also the case in programming (this is actually the case with any two operators that reverse each other). So it is safe to say the above equations are both correct. Casio is a bit more strict so it constantly put multiplication ahead for ease of computing while the Android calculator software simply goes with whichever one that comes first out of the two. Let's read a bit further to know which one is ACTUALLY correct. Someone might ask, how can the same equation give the two different answers and both will be correct? Well, welcome to the programmer's world. You see, the correctness of an output isn't just a function of having a final figure but also a function of how closely the variables interpret the actual real life problems being solved. In the case above, if the two equation are meant to solve the same word problem, then one definitely has a logical error and one must know the word problem before one can tell which one is wrong. This is because when two operators are on the same level (which is always the case with any two operators that reverse each other), the acceptable grouping/order strictly depends on the items represented by individual variables. Since computers only work with variables, there's no way they would know this so they simply go with the one that comes first (or, as Casio did, strictly pick one ahead of the other). It is now left to the human users or programmers (who know the real life items these variables represent) to enforce the wanted grouping using brackets. These grouping could be based on the fact that a part of the expression is coming from another problem that must fully be solved before joining the remaining part or anything of as such actually. So while the the two answers are correct in terms of hard figures, only one actually solves the problem and until we know the problem that led to the punching of calculators, we'd never really know which one. NB: In an academic setting (secondary and primary schools) where the figures are just there for simulations and learning purposes only, please, go with Casio's result cause strictly putting multiplication ahead is a convention generally adopted for uniformity and outcome predictability provided the figures don't really represent anything. Thanks |

elisho:Respect sir. |
NGpatriot:Ok. |
elisho:And you think you're being fair by asking her to watch when nothing is happening? Bro, you may not like the show, I don't watch it too, but your lady is an adult, be her source of freedom so that she will miss you when you're not around and not feel happier/liberated. |
NGpatriot:Ok... I see you don't like him and you aren't just looking at this very submission of his but rather going by your pre-existing disposition towards him. |
Holyman3:Just see what a fellow human being is typing... men rape people everyday on front page, men kill every other day on front page, men engage in all sorts of scam everyday on front page, etc.. nobody attacks the male gender. And then a woman does something terrible and the entire gender is attacked. You're just looking for anything to promote your misogyny with. Going from the way to you, I can only pity the females around you. |
NGpatriot:Ok but you were asking what Daddy Freeze's parents got to do with anything and if knowing his parents takes away his right... and the guy never said anything about him not having right to his opinion. He mentioned the parents simply because Daddy Freeze was call a bastard (someone who doesn't know his father) and he's saying he's not a bastard cause his father is well known. |
MzMercie:Three* |
CodeTemplar:Nairaland boys think it's by professing it on every thread. These are kids who don't have confidence in themselves so they need to repeatedly say that and insult others just to feel OK. A boy that goes on each thread shouting simp up and down calls himself alpha? Laughable. |
b3llo:By going online on different threads shouting simp up and down you're actually worse than whatever a simp is... I'm sure whatever y'all refer to as alpha wouldn't do what you're doing. |
elisho:Hope you wouldn't mind if she pulls the plug when your club is playing... live and let live. |
NGpatriot:Not sure you read the OP, bro. He wasn't attacking Daddy Freeze. |
Righteousness89:You realise you made a subtle excuse for the man of good by taking time to make freeze's wrongs clear and the adding 'out of anger' for the pastor? Your submission may or may not be right but the presentation is that of someone who doesn't disagree much with the pastor's action. Just a feedback |
temiitayo:Lol... so how did you know about her personality, from the pic? Y'all claiming you don't follow the show, I wonder who does. |
EdmundChidera:Lol...bro, "middleman" doesn't mean "middle class" as your comment suggests. Middlemen are people who buy goods from producers and sell them to retailers or consumers. They could be rich, poor or middle class themselves. ![]() |
mizzreg:Oh.. sorry, I don't live in Nigéria and international calls cost me extra. Thanks for the kind gestures, I believe the intention is worth much more than the item. |
Nice. Everyone has the right to support their preferred candidate. Let the best man win. Apart from the two popular candidates, who are the others? |
Haha... the person above has said it all! ![]() So the spirits' workflow does not permit them to do whatever they want to do till humans have sex? They are spirits yet they are controlled by the actions of men. Maybe they also need us to stay in a particular position and then leave the windows open before they can enter. There's a strong psychological connection that takes a place during the sex. Hormones like dopamine, etc. get released in excess and these hormones are responsible for the feeling of love, addiction, etc. I don't doubt any of these but the spiritual aspect is over flogging it. The people of the bible wrote based on their understanding. It's OK because they felt this intense connection and its lingering effects but could not explain it and, therefore, attributed it to spirituality. However, we know better today and we must stop making things complex for mankind. Mating, in its different forms, is a natural part of most living things and just like every other animal, humans are created to have sex and multiply when applicable. Marriage helps to control population, reduce the risk of STD infection, help the society stay organized and create a favourable condition for children coming into this world. Sex before marriage only denies us all these good tidings and that is why we must abstain from it. Even pigeons go into unions and stick to it, they don't need anyone to scare them with "spirits". #SayNoToSexualImmorality |
EyezofGod120:Do you just type this anywhere regardless of the topic? Cause the thread has nothing to do with Nigeria. |
WandaNara:When a certain reverend father from the East was being extremely vocal about politics, Nigerians asked him to mind his church and leave politics alone. The problem is that Nigerians don't have standards, it's always about whatever works in their favour at the moment. |
VickyRotex:Of course, you misinterpreted that statement! ![]() Here, your daily update (account created today): https://www.nairaland.com/6101518/why-blacks-dying-higher-rates#93640388 |
K254725:I'm done bro. Enjoy yourself. |
You don't disrespect your bro cause he did something bad, you stole his love letter and gave it to your sweetheart so you're all pretty much the same. You either disrespect him cause he hurt someone that matters to you (your mum) or because he's got something that you wish you had; maybe his personality, courage, etc or people like him more than they do you and you feel it's because they don't know him as much you do. Whichever way, like you more or less admitted above, it's more about you than about him. I'm not supporting wayward lifestyle but what he did was in the past when y'all were growing up and you said you did worse. I, therefore, simply don't think that's the reason behind your disposition towards him. Might I suggest you pay attention to the man he has become and not the man he was? I'm sure even your mum would have forgiven him by now if she knew about the theft. Learn the good things you can learn from him, let him know when he's derailing and most importantly, love yourself cause that's the first step to loving others. |
VickyRotex:Lol... this is how it starts. And then there'll be many different versions and generations ahead will build their philosophies on these versions, disagree and fight over who is right and who is wrong. |
igbesachick:Paranoid? And what exactly would my fear be? My write-up suggests that they could actually be humans (tech restrictions are never an issue) or bots (without the aim of crashing the app). I don't know how that translates to paranoia. I mean, what can possibly happen? |
He'll be a convict emeritus! |
Finally, our youngsters are allowing this simp rubbish get to their heads. The internet! |
K254725:I think you're just bent on playing the victim. The disease comes with many symptoms. Most of the time, the individual symptoms are treated instead of administering the vaccine. When the symptoms aren't going away and the condition detoriates or when the case was already severe before being reported, the vaccine is administered. This emergency use approach is common with new drugs. Many countries that already use this vaccin (including Canada and the EU) do/did the same thing. It's even coming late to Africa and wouldn't have come at all if not for the agreement I described in my last comment here. It's left to Africa to adopt a similar cautious approach and stop playing the victim all the time. On June 29, the same US government you're using as a standard bought more than 500,000 treatment courses of the drug, representing manufacturer Gilead's entire production capacity for the next three months and effectively excluding other countries from accessing this drug. And you think they were waiting for results from Africa? It's funny because Africa cannot produce, Africa is not rich enough to buy what has been produced and even when you subsidize or strategically reduce the cost for the continent, Africans will still play the victim. |

All of these is just reverse psychology. Truth is there's the chaff and there's the chaff. If you get warramean.
