Freestainworld: ![]() Well, that she's strong doesn't necessarily mean she's aggressive |
Lol... see what Nairaland boys have reduced themselves into. |
fuckingAyaya:It's actually funny how you think you're in a position to tell people with certain conditions how to manage. Bro, he had vitiligo, you don't have vitiligo. You're not really in a position to tell him how to manage his skin condition. The people you mentioned who live with vitiligo might not have the resources for such an extensive surgery. They don't have a gigantic career at stake. Even the 2Pac and co., there's no telling the decisions they'd have taken if they had such a disease. You don't really know the decisions you'd take in certain circumstances until you find yourself in those circumstances. Micheal was already a star before the vitiligo went all over his body and his was acute (I don't know if you know how beastly that can make someone look). Instead of abruptly ending his promising career and declining into a lifetime of self pity and depression, he opted for a surgery that would give him another shot at a fulfilled life. Micheal had other surgeries like nose work and hair straightening to fit into his new skin color and these might not be some of his best decisions as things were never the same for him, but it did not stop him from going on to become the king of pop. Only sentiments could make anyone deny this. He got to the point he was before his death cause he never gave up in his quest for greatness against all odds. I don't think it would be ideal for us to sit in the comfort of our homes and tell people what they should have done with thier lives. Our education is a waste if we're so emotionally attached to our race, country, religion, etc. to the point where empathy and objectivity become secondary considerations. Just an opinion. |
First, taking advantage of people in thier moment of weakness is just terrible. If you can't help someone, just let them be. OP, you're desperately seeking closure and that's obvious seeing the number of times you apologized (though not to the person that needs it). It's almost as if you're pleading with the audience not to judge you, and that's understandable given the societal perception of homosexuality. You probably created this thread hoping to get some words that will make you feel better. I really hope you do cause this is hardly about the man nor about your wife; this is about your peace of mind. However, I'm afraid you might still not feel at ease until you've mentioned this to your wife. If you must, please spare her the details. There's no guarantee it'll turn out well, but the fact that you're not naturally into men leads to believe you didn't set out to cheat for the pleasure of it. Meanwhile, I don't know what you mean by "normal Nigerian women attitude". You guys meet and marry nice ladies but somehow believe only yours is great and others are terrible. So which is the normal Nigerian men attitude? Yours or that of the man who almost took advantage of you? |
RingRoadMafia:Yes, the way Davido showed love to Burna boy when they met the last time. Dude, people disagree all the time regardless of gender. |
Ulixsis:Dull brain cause she has dogs? Dude, people keep dogs for the fun of having pets, both the rich and the poor. She is not any different from the millions of dog lovers out there. It's not everything you criticise. |
Unfortunately, yes. There will be no authority in an organization if the employer (or those on top of the hierarchy) has no way disciplining the employees (or the junior ones). It's called disciplinary action, and it usually comes after series of warnings. Withholding your salary is just one of the numerous ways of doing that. Other ways include suspending you without pay, deducting a certain percentage of your salary, denying you some percentage of your annual bonus, extending your promotion date or even demoting you in extreme cases. Kicking you out is always the last option. You can appeal if it's large organization with a well established hierarchy or decide to leave if the punishment came from the highest authority. |
Ebenezer2021:Seen. |
Wickedness has no gender. This man is pure evil. |
Silentgroper:You conveniently missed the comments before mine? They had already started sir. |
DenreleDave:Scientists don't need your vote. They don't need anything from you. What would they gain by lying to you? There are many dating techniques out there and they have significantly helped in areas such as crime investigation, archeology, geology, etc. Even with error margins and rounded values, the dates have proven to be fairly accurate. |
Davido fought Burna Boy the other day, nobody remembered their gender. Now, women are fighting, watch as the entire thread becomes about women. Everybody fights. Men, women, the poor and the rich. |
Ebenezer2021:Lol... sure it's me? I wonder what I wrote that caught your attention. Don't be quick to judge though, you might just be shocked by my next post. You could send me a mail. If it's not problem, I'd only request that you quote me to let me after you've sent the mail. That way, I'd be sure to reply asap. I'd really be glad to 'chat' as career and education are subjects I'm very passionate about, but I'm afraid email would have to be the only way for us to communicate off Nairaland. Please, understand that I wish to remain anonymous. I hope that wouldn't be a problem. |
Hhmm... But these are two very different tracks. These countries were in existence before electricity was invented. They invented electricity at some point in their existence and some decades later, they came up with technologies to spread it all over the West. It's not as if it took them years to catch up with some pre-existing technology. We are not asking Nigeria to invent electricity or create anything, we are asking Nigeria to harness a technology that has been in existence long before the country was born. Please, let's not compare adoption with invention. Just an opinion. |
@OP, find a way to tell her no. If she's explicit with her advances, then explicitly tell her no. If she's implicit with it, the implicitly turn her down as well (maybe friend zoning like someone suggested). Whatever you do, try not to use "brute force". If you hurt her, you might end up messing up her relationship with her sister or outrightly lose your chances of even coming close to her sister. Though your own situation is somewhat peculiar, ladies turn down guys all the time, the reverse shouldn't be a big deal. Meanwhile, the kid sister might not even be into you. Such is life. |
Lamasta:You guys and this formulaic response. Did OP tell you he didn't have money? Do you know if settling down is the next on his list? |
Ebenezer2021:It is. Though it's not the mailbox I use often. Why? |
Brutal? |
Bro, why all the exclamation marks? Are you fighting anyone? Anyway, how do you think those other tribes whose languages aren't represented in the name 'WAZOBIA' would feel? Your idea of "calm" is when your own end is good enough, and that's root cause of the lack of unity in the country today. So sorry, I do not agree with you on this. Personally, I see nothing wrong with the name "Nigeria". Changing the name is like sweeping our dirts under the carpet and pretending to have a clean house. |
While you all are busy policing Nigerian girls, your boys are getting rotten right before you. |
You mean half-man/half-butterfly ? |
Your brother is lucky to have you as a senior brother. |
extol1:It wasn't meant for you. |
It's easy to see why you're so upset given his utterance. Sometimes, we say things thinking our friends understand forgetting they have feelings too. But you also made a difficult request. Please, I'm not supporting or defending him. I'm only offering an alternative perspective, which I think is why you created this thread. Perhaps, your friend didn't think you'd seriously make that request at that moment and that's why he brushed it aside. It's like you complaining your school fee isn't complete yet and that you need to pay before the exams start in a few weeks, and then a friend asking you to give him the cash you've got to double. Only a few people would take that risk. And if something goes wrong, the same people asking you to discard your friend here will be the ones calling him a fool for bargaining with the money he couldn't afford to lose. What I am trying to say is, don't be quick to compare what you've been doing for your friend with what you asked him to do. You gave him money you could afford. By this, I mean you gave him money from your extra cash after taking care of your pressing needs. But you're asking him to violate the first rule of investment: invest only what you can afford to lose. Business-wise, that doesn't sound so smart. The truth is, even though he's got the cash, he simply can't afford the money you're requesting. Besides, you didn't just ask him for the money cause you've got some needs. It was more or less a way of helping him out. Since it was clearly for for his own benefit, it could be deducted that him not giving it to you is not just because he didn't want to help you and thereby helping himself (he wouldn't be stingy to himself at this moment). He must have weighed his options and realized the bargain was way beyond his risk appetite. Again, the response wasn't really encouraging but it could just be a communication error given his state of mind. Let's not let emotions run high. Good friends are difficult to find. If he's really a good friend to you, you would know. Nairaland people don't know a thing about your relationship with him, it would be easy for us to say, "cut him off!". |
You're done sexualizing them, it's time to demonize them. Poor ladies. |
Valkrie:So what makes him false is that he died? Did the man ever hurt you personally? Being atheistic or simply not believing in the activities of his church is one thing but hating a fellow human who has not done anything to you to the point of celebrating his death is an entirely different thing. The pain of death is not for the dead but for the loved ones left behind. Have you taken a moment to think about the family? Have you thought of what the household would be going through right now? We all have loved ones, it should be hard to imagine the loss. Empathy. |
Angelacruz:Sad |
"The goal of capital letters is granting value to a proper name, highlighting a word or phrase to catch the reader´s attention. Capitals letters are used at the beginning of a line or paragraph, followed by a punctuation mark in the case of proper names." OP, above is what capital letters are meant for. Except you lack proper capitalization skills, you should avoid writing in all caps as texts written in such a manner are actually less legible. Meanwhile, thanks for sharing. |
What for? |
ettekamba1:Wikipedia pages are edited by the public. So that's nothing to go by. |
Lol... the title of this thread is funny. Anyway, I'm glad it was just a rumor. |
