CrimeRe: Kenyan Man Rapes His Daughter & Infects Her With HIV. Gives His Reasons by WoundedLamb: 11:17pm On Jun 18, 2021
bjtinz:
OPs solution is for mothers to keep thier daughters away from thier fathers. That is where the "overdoing" comes in.

Yes, rape is a violently despicable crime against a woman, but one doesn't advice all men to castrate themselves as way of curbing it.

We should look for workable solutions, not just empty noise.
Fahdiga1:
Bia OP. Is it only this kind of news that you always comes across? Why do you always derive joy in denigrating men?Don't you have a father and brothers at home or won't you give birth to a baby boy later in life? I condemn the actions of the man but I think you are overdoing things
This was your response. You were clearly concerned about the fact that she's always posting this kind of stories and not about the quality of her solution. Your first instinct on reading the news was to defend men. You're only just wriggling out with the solution stuff now. And she never even mentioned that as a solution but a warning to her fellow women. You reserve the right to agree with that warning or not, but you guys on FP who are more concerned about the fact that the OP posts this kind of news than the actual sad content of the story are just pathetic. That's not being a man. Any man with a mother, wife, daughter or sister wouldn't think about gender before condemning the act. No mother would think about gender before condemning any such act from a fellow woman. I don't why we men find it hard to hold each other accountable. Apparently, nothing I say would change anything. Enjoy your day.
CrimeRe: Kenyan Man Rapes His Daughter & Infects Her With HIV. Gives His Reasons by WoundedLamb: 10:47pm On Jun 18, 2021
bjtinz:
Stop being silly. What percentage of fathers rape thier daughters?
So how does this question support the idea that the OP is overdoing it? What's the correlation? A little percentage of men ra.pe their kids, so the OP reporting that is overdoing it? How does your response even stand against my post you quoted? I'm telling you there nothing like overdoing it provided it really happened except you're saying we shouldn't report such things just to protect the gender. And you're asking me the percentage of men that commit the crime. What exactly is the logic here? If a little percentage of men do it, then what's wrong in reporting that little? You guys just type for typing sake.

Except the news ain't true, there's nothing like overdoing it. If it happened, it happened and there's nothing wrong in reporting it whenever it happens. Or would you prefer such news are left unreported just to protect men? What exactly is the point in defending a gender when we all know everyone will still bear thier cross individually? What would you say if someone says "fulani atrocities" are being over reported? The fact that you first became defensive instead condemning the man simply shows you prioritize sexism over sympathy/empathy.

CultureRe: Itsekiri's Olu Tussle: Oyowoli Emiko Takes Omo-Oba Tsola Emiko To Court by WoundedLamb: 11:56pm On Jun 17, 2021
Hhmmm... Who are these ones? African history/culture is really deep and complex. The whole kingship thing is fascinating. It's just like those days when kings used to have real powers.

Does the customary law have provisions for the appointment of kings? Is it strictly governed by the traditions of the village? If so, how will the court help in this case? I'm really curious as regards the meeting point of traditions and the law in Africa.

Thank you so much for your comment. I am a guy. I am indeed grateful. Yes those structures mentioned in the videos are not literally in the middle of the ocean.

They are structures built on rivers and sea. Like most bridges( Brooklyn bridge) dams( Hoover dam).
I just decide to go with the title middle of the ocean, because I think most people will resonate well with that.
Great. I figured.

I like innotutorial cheesy

He/she is consistent and dedicated.

Meanwhile, though I get the point, I don't think most of these structures are really in the middle of the ocean. They are mostly between two landmasses thus in seas.

Stop sounding sexist!

Terrorists sent by the Fulani militias are stopping public transports and abducting only men but sparing women and children in some parts of the South East.
The fulani militias are men too. But that aside, I'm not disputing the fact that everyone is suffering. But if you're really saying you're not concerned about the increasing violence against women by men, then I guess there's no point having this discussion.

I'm a man with sisters I care about.

Whatever you do in this life my father will say, always remember one thing "man pass man"
Actually, there's nothing ignorant about wanting democracy/power transition. That Russia does not do that doesn't automatically make those clamoring for it ignorant. Ignorant is always calling your own people ignorant cause of the actions of others.
CelebritiesRe: Before And After Pregnancy Pictures Of Nigerian Celebrities by WoundedLamb:
Lol... these are not before-and-after-pregnancy pics. These are during-and-after-pregnancy pics. Pregnancy had already taken a toll on them in the first set of pics (though perfectly covered by thier make-up artists). They were only expected to look better after giving birth. Pictures of them before they became pregnant would have done a better job of showing the effects of pregnancy. Anyway, kudos to all women out there and their men.

PetsRe: How To Identify Quack Veterinary Doctors by WoundedLamb: 3:30pm On Jun 13, 2021
Zeeknow3245:
To your answer
1. In Nigeria they have both Exotic Medicine and Avian Medicine but in Nigeria the Specialty for Domestic Birds is Poultry Medicine. For Birds like Macaus,Finches and other exotic birds as you've highlighted, they are under exotic medicine or Exotic and Wildlife Medicine. In Nigeria they have Unions let me say Associations for Poultry Veterinarians, Bovine(Cow) Veterinarians unlike the US or UK that have Boards. It's a growing Nation Sir.
In Nigeria it's rather Unions/Associations than Regulatory boards. The members of the Associations work to Improve their members via Seminars, provision of facilities if needed.
In Nigeria we have a Major one rather a board Small Animal Veterinarians which comprises of Dogs,Cats, Rabbits,Guinea pigs etc. If you mean they're Veterinarians who attend to exotic birds majorly in Nigeria, then I afraid NO is the answer.

2. Dog Training is quite complex. In the US they are under Animal Behaviour Board. Dog Trainers don't have to be Doctors. But in Nigeria we have few Dog Trainers than Breeders. Don't mix a breeder for a Trainer. You can check the Small Animal Veterinary Nigeria there you can get contacts of Dog Trainers. Like I said you don't have to be a Doctor to be a Trainer it just take dilligence, patience and attending Classes to train your Dog. In UI they do Dog show organized by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, there you can find Dog Trainers if need be. It is Annually done.

3. Concerning Dog Aggressiveness, it rather too bad People are glad to see their Dogs Violent to strangers. You may not blame them because of Security Issues on ground both Past and Present. The Abroad you say of have Little or No Fence in many Districts and Zones. They have a functioning Neighbourhood watch and Security personnels are fully functional. We can't say that here. The only crime is when you beat dogs, cut their Tails, Lock them up 13hrs a day to Increase their aggressiveness is what is Animal cruelty. Dogs properly trained are good security buddies. In Nigeria they have Few parks. In Lagos there's in Lekki, VI and some parts of Mainland. You can even ask in Nairaland as a Topic.
Thanks for taking out your time to give such a detailed response!

I don't actually stay in Nigeria, and I now see why avian vets tend to be expensive!

PetsRe: How To Identify Quack Veterinary Doctors by WoundedLamb: 2:03pm On Jun 13, 2021
ADEBAZ95:
Yes, veterinary medicine is wide, though a graduate of vet medicine do have knowledge on all species of animal. A vet doctor do have an area of interest where he/she devlops him/her self.

Some of different area a vet doctor can specializes on are;

Small animal medicine: Dog and Cat(basically)
Large animal medicine: sheep,goat,cattle.
Equine medicine: horses
Avian medicine : Poultry
Fish medicine: Fishes still at primitive stage in Nigeria.
Wildlife medicine: Zoological animals.

Each species of animal has different line of treatment and respond to drug drugs different. Drug used for species A can be a poison for species B. This is why veterinary medicine is harder compared to human medicine.
Thanks!

I also updated my post to add a few more questions.

Yes, but this shouldn't deter anyone from trying.
PetsRe: How To Identify Quack Veterinary Doctors by WoundedLamb:
Nice one. I have a few probably dumb questions, but I'll ask them nevertheless:

1) Please, does a vet need special studies asides the normal vet degree to be able to treat birds? Where I stay, we have a lot of veterinary doctors but only a few of them do birds, and they are expensive. They call themselves 'avian vets'. Is it like that everywhere else? I mean pet birds like parrots, parakeets, finches, canaries, etc.

2) Is there a body for dog trainers in Nigeria or any law guiding the practice?

3) I noticed that many dogs in Nigeria are readily aggressive to strangers and this seems to be normal as the owners even brag about it. The same species are socialized in western countries as part of the initial puppy training process, and only attack when ordered to or in certain circumstances. I know Nigerians purposely do this and my question is, are they benefits to raising un-socialized dogs? Do such owners ever take thier dogs to leash free zones/dog parks? Won't they be in serious legal trouble if their dogs attack someone or another dog regardless of where?

Thanks.
