PoliticsRe: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Xander85: 1:33pm On Jan 11, 2019
ANSMEDIA:
Anambra Compendium Receives Boost Of N5M, To Be Distributed To Public Institutions, Libraries

The need for wealthy individuals and corporate organizations in the state to sponsor the Anambra Compendium to enable people especially Ndi Anambra have access to the rich information contained therein has been stressed.

The state Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke made the call when officials of Dozzy Group issued a cheque for five million naira to the state government in sponsorship of the Anambra Compendium.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the state government in his office at the Government House Awka, Deputy Governor Okeke commended the group for backing up the state government on such laudable project, and called on other groups and individuals to follow suit for accessibility of the rich content of the historic book by the masses, which according to him will widen people’s knowledge and project the state as the true light of the nation.

For the Editor in Chief of the Compendium, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, the Compendium represents Anambra and its entirety, and serves as a guide to those who are not familiar with the history, natural endowments, culture and traditions of the state.

While pointing out that there is no better way to showcase the state than ensuring the spread of the Compendium, Mr. Okonkwo explained that when the Compendium goes viral, it will make Anambra a brand in the world, hence the need for more sponsorship.

Speaking after handing over the cheque, the Chief Executive Officer of the Dozzy Group, Sir Dan Chukwudozie represented by the General Manager Communication, Sir Oseloka Ofor who explained that the gesture has no political undertone, said it is part of their way of giving back to the society and ensuing that everyone tap from the rich content of the book, requesting that the Compendium paid for, be distributed to public institutions, libraries and others as planned.

The event featured proper handover of the five million naira cheque to the state government through the Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke by the group.
I hope it will have a yellow-pages section where the addresses and contact details of all companies in the state are listed! I don't think any state in the south-east has this yet.

Nigeria is not working for anyone except the North!!!

The earlier we accept this reality the better it will be for us all!!!
The assertion in your first paragraph is true....to some extent! But it's more the core northern muslim oligarchy than the poor talakawas that are benefiting from 'one Nigeria'. Problem is, these talakawa are largely uninformed and zombified to the extent that they are oblivious to the fact they are the main pillars propping up their oppressors!

There seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel if i continue sharing the same country with this sad lot, and this is why i want out!
PoliticsRe: Biafra: We'd Have Fought For The Sovereignty Of Biafra- Oyo Pensioners by Xander85: 2:51am On Jan 10, 2019
I think you guys should go easy on them! Even if they didn't apologise for the innocent blood spilled to sustain such an evil contraption that first and foremost benefits the Fulani oligarchy....at least they've expressed some form of 'buyers remorse' for what their actions has brought about!

For a second, just close your eyes and imagine the kind of progressive nations that would have arisen in the southern part of Nigeria if Biafra had succeeded! Going by what Awo said about the choice of his people if Biafra is allowed to secede, i doubt the Yoruba would have stayed behind to be doing 'one Nigeria' with the north! They would have broken away themselves to form their own country, and most likely there would have been healthy competition between them and Biafra which would have seen whatever nations that emerged from the southern part of Nigeria become the most developed and peaceful regions in Africa....they would have been nations in the true sense of the word!

Nice sarcasm. In the mind of the ibos good governance is when they're appointed to the highest level positions in the state
If you think all Ndigbo are interested in is federal appointments and rigging themselves into offices in the name of democracy like you and you're pathetic ilk then there's a lot you've still got to learn about us!

You're supporting the nasty Igbo hating bigot that says governance at the federal level should be left to the Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani abi? We've done that since 1966, yet see where your 'one Nigeria' is today!

You can only claim fovouritism by appointing Fashola to head three different Ministeries.

Kindly enlighten me more about this cement technology and its comparative benefits in infrastructure construction (roads, flyovers, etc).
If mixed well the roads last for longer, that's for sure! And for a state with loads of limestone and its own cement plant like Ebonyi, it would make economic sense as well!

Cement roads built in Nkalagu during the Okpara years are still intact today as we speak!

I get the OPs argument about geographical north and south!

If we were to take the two most populated states in the north and in the south and compare them using the last census figures, which region would come tops?
PoliticsRe: Is The geographical "NORTH" More Populated Than The geographical "SOUTH" by Xander85: 2:26pm On Jan 08, 2019
And i bet if i do a study of all the countries in West Africa bordering the Atlantic, i'd discover that in most if not all, the coastal region is more populated than the arid inner/northern parts that are closer to the Sahara. Of course with the exception of Nigeria, where reason stands on its head!

When the Igbos we’re enjoying the alliance of the North in the 60s, by even forming the alliance with north against the West nothing was wrong back then, Their leaders were preaching One Nigeria.... But once they’re schemed out of things they remember that they’re been treated badly by their once good Allies.... You can’t eatvyou cake and have it....
You've gone off on a tangent mate!

Who the fuc/k is talking of stupid alliances here? I'm talking of our Igbo elite fighting our corner, and not making callous and insensitive statements like the one Umahi made....it's got nothing to do with whether Ndigbo are in or out of gov't! Some of his kinsmen have been murdered in cold blood by the very bastards he was talking to!

If you're smarting over the so called 'alliance' between us and the Hausa-Fulani in the 60s, then i'd advice you take it up with Zik....you're talking to the wrong Igbo on this one!

Just read that your post again, and maybe it would begin to dawn on you just what the problem is with Nigeria: always stuck in the past....arguing what this persons grandparents did to that persons grandparents! How the hell can you move forward when you're obsessed with looking in the rear view mirror!

I've said it, that a huge part of our problem as Igbos is our 'one Nigeria' elite that are always quick to throw their own under the bus just to please their Fulani masters!

You actually think that these Fulani would have spent one second longer than necessary in Nigeria if they had been treated the way Ndigbo have been since the late 60s? They'd have hightailed it out of here and threatened you with dagger if you held their arm to prevent them from leaving! sad

Nice nice. Development can never hide.
Umahi has changed the face of Ebonyi big time!

He deserves 4+4 = 8

When you see a governor or president doing so much with very little, one wonders the kind of looting that must have characterised the past administrations of Sam Egwu (8yrs)and Martin Elechi (8yrs).
Wasted 16yrs for Ebonyi people.
Thank God for David Umahi.

It remains Abia to be rescued. I hope 2019 will be their time.
I've asked the same question as well!

At least Ebonyi got it right this time around! Pity Abia that hasn't gotten it right from 1999 to date! One would have thought that being Abia....with the much talked about Aba (Japan of Africa) that it would have surpassed Ebonyi in infrastructural development and left it for dust! But the opposite seems to be the case!

Now Abia is talking of building a snazzy new Enyimba City! Talk about wanting to run when you're yet to master the art of walking! sad

Nice one Arinze! Try and post it on the Pan-Igbo thread as well!

It would be interesting to see how this glass tunnel project looks like when finished. Though i think it should be called something else b'cos a tunnel is meant to be sub-surface! Maybe glass-passage could suffice!
