Holiness2100:The world has to be weary of a man who can make such a comment. That is a President of Russia... The land of Josef Stalin, the former Soviet Union dictator. |
HonNL:Time to focus more on building earthquake-resistant residential houses and skyscrapers globally. |
nairalandkachy1:The art of war... Stooping (or kneeling) to conquer. ![]() |
oikirodah:Vintage... ![]() |
muhammaduyusufu:Nicely put. |
muhammaduyusufu:That boy called GRV is daft and NOT a very bright person. Just take a look at the trash he Tweeted. Unknown to him, the indigenes of Lagos State and Ogun State are one people... Especially Ijebuland and Aworiland that straddle both sides of the 2 Yoruba states of Lagos and Ogun. Yayi is an Awori and Aworis are indigenous to many towns in Ogun State and Lagos State. Osinbajo that he refered to in his ignorant Tweet is an Ijebu and Ijebus are also indigenous to many towns in Ogun State and Lagos State (such as Epe, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekku, Ajah). Just like in Ghana, new land leases in Lagos and Ogun States MUST henceforth not exceed 50 years from here on out. |
NzogbuNzogbu:Indeed. |
naptu2:Impressive... Clean alternative energy is the way to go on a global scale. |

Samantha124:Oh yes... I know what some of you young ladies with legal backgrounds are capable of... You are hardwired to want to win arguments. But I have the mind of steel to handle the situation. For real?! You mean someone reported you to a mod here on NL? I've been a member of this forum since 2005 with an older NL account and I have learned to just ignore some of these NL guys or trolls who can't engage in insightful convos without getting petty. C'mon, I won't hate or unfollow you because I like having good convos with males and females who have brilliant minds that let you see other perspectives (even if you have a contrarian view to mine as long as it doesn't degenerate to "below the belt" kinda outright insults). Of course, in all our convos here on NL, you have proven to be like "pineapple on pizza." I have one more observation about you though but I won't tell you now... That would be later on a different thread. Have a fun-filled weekend in Durban. Take care. ![]() |
LegendHero:Impressive... Now FX inflows have to be shored up through multiple sources and low-hanging fruits. The huge $12 billion backlogs for multinational investors have to be cleared up to gain a state of equilibrium. We'll see how things pan out from here on out. |
Samantha124:Samantha, for that needed energy go to the nearest mall and get yourself some Lucozade Boost or Gatorade... Lol. You're such a great sport. Case dismissed! (Sound of the gavel). Talk to you later. ![]() |
Samantha124:Dialectically speaking, oh yes you can compare both categories because they are both time-bound and entail the breaking of records... One on the athletics track and the other in the kitchen. As a former student of law in SA, you should ponder over it again. ![]() Second, Hilda indeed opened the floodgates of interest in that cooking category. That of course stimulated the interest of Dami and other Chefs living in other countries aside from Nigeria such as in Kenya, etc. They also want to break Hilda's 4-day cooking record. With reference to your final question, I think she would if the motivation is there. The last winner of that cooking category that was dethroned by Hilda was from Asia... (i.e., India to be precise). |
Samantha124:Samantha, how's it going? I disagree with a few of your points of view here, although I think Chef Dami and her team could have given some space of just 2 months to gain maximum effects before taking on the new challenge. Incidentally, 'Dami is studying Mass Communications at 300 level, while Hilda also read Mass Communications in the Uni, so I assume they understand the power of online and offline media to achieve positive change. To be clear, in the world of athletics, World Records get broken several times in the same event, on the same day, by the same athletic or by other athletes. Just last year (2022), 'Tobi Amusan, a Texas, U.S.-based Nigerian female athlete broke her own World Record twice in the same 100 meter hurdles event. The second record was wind-aided, but it still showed that we humans have unlimited powers buried within us. It is a "limiting belief" to assume that this is a case of unhealthy female competition... This is a limiting belief. Guinness World Records has officially accepted Hilda's record with deductions made for some infractions... and it gained her more fame and wealth. |
officialwdhtv:This is quite touching and got my eyes a bit misty. Wow, so, Mercy has a Cameroonian mother (who gave birth to her in the old Benue State in 1982, although 1984 is her widely known year of birth) who she had spoken to before now. After watching the video, this Cameroonian woman is indeed Mercy Johnson's mother and they both look alike. I like her firm stance about being Mercy's biological mother. A further DNA test can be done to clear all doubts. Mercy should bring her biological mother closer and forgive her if she did wrong. There has to be full closure for everyone. |
Melezenawii:Indeed... Brings back memories from back in the day for me. |
Melezenawii:My respects to a great millionaire Ijebu industrialist from Epe, Lagos State. My respects to another billionaire business mogul from the Ijebu part of Ogun State, Otunba Subomi Balogun (the founder of the iconic FCMB and the first Merchant bank in Nigeria). The end of a cycle. |
LeoDeKing:I see your point and absolutely agree with you Leo. I must commend you for defending your people from the cyber-bullying from these creeps. I want you too to also tone down a bit because I have seen some of your posts that you did to dispel the toxic and misleading information from some of these bigots. Don't be too forward, but strongly state your point so that some people will not use you as an example. But what really got me pissed off is the attempt by her to blackmail you Yoruba folks and then she didn't call out the many well-known toxic NL Ibo monikers here who have been trying to destabilize this NL Website. This is coming from a young lady who is from Imo State but speaks and writes very fluent Yoruba. I have well-documented online and offline evidence of organized cyber-bullying, the spread of fake news, misogyny and ethnic propaganda on Ibo-owned Websites from the late 1990s then to the early 2000s till now that will seal the fate of any Ibo that FALSELY accuses the Yorubas and other Nigerian ethnicities of being the first to engage in online attacks. |
[img][/img] lawani:You made some interesting and valid points here. Only 1 in 10 Yoruba folks marry outside their ethnic group, so it is NOT that the number of inter-ethnic marriages is that high. So, I do NOT agree with you that there is hardly any Yoruba family with Ibo inlaws. Yorubas marry more from Edo and Delta States. Others marry Nupes, and other Northern ethnicities and then those in Europe, America, etc, gravitate towards citizens of those countries or marry from the Yoruba Diaspora. I also observed that Yorubas mainly marry from Ibo-speaking Delta North or Anioma than from the South East. Last but not least, the Ibo online toxicity, hate speeches and defamation of character of prominent people of other Nigerian ethnicites have to be dealt by the authorities because it insidious and is a projection of the thoughts, feelings, and actions of those ethnic bigots. From my observations right from the late 1990s till date, the responses of the Yoruba folks and other Nigerian ethnicities like the Ijaws, Hausas, Ikwerres, Ibibios, etc, to the organized online mob aggression online have been a response to these relentless attacks. Recently, we read here online about the arrest of a young Ibo dude in Anambra State during the last elections in Nigeria for defaming Sir. Emeka Offor and inciting the Labor Party members against him. This is the only way to tame these creeps who spread hate online and offline. |
mariahAngel:Mariah, I am responding to this post because you are one of those favorites here on NL. You have to stop engaging in confirmation bias and calling other NL monikers out here if you cannot engage in holistic criticism. It is ethnic bigotry on your part for NOT including your fellow Ibos who have initiated these relentless toxic attacks years back on NL as well! As a veteran member of NL since 2005, I can confirm that your Ibo kinsmen have been the ones causing trouble online and on NL... even before Nairaland was formed by Seun Osewa in March 2005. Mainly the Ibos have always been toxic and have always attacked other Nigerian ethnic groups simply because of the 2 years and 6 months Nigerian Civil War. Members of Ralph Uwazurike's Massob were involved in massive hate speech online in the early 2000s, then Ipob members continued the relentlessly hate against other Nigerians. Even Ibo females have joined in hate speech on social media and there is massive video and online evidence of Ibo aggression and propaganda from back in the late 1990s right till 2023 against other ethnic groups in Nigeria and this is why others had to fight back against this very toxic Ibo aggression coming from mainly the males. Period. |
NOETHNICITY:Nicely put. |
fergie001:It is also time to arrest the ethnic bigots from the other ethnic group who have relentlessly terrorised NL and all other social media platforms with criminal defamation and hate speech since the early 2000s. Period. |
raskymonojendor:It is time for the government and DSS to immediately move in and pick these toxic trolls who are spreading fake news and hate speech on NL and other online platforms based on existing Nigerian Cyber Crime laws. There is NO absolute freedom anywhere in the world where this kind of misleading information from these ethnic bigots is allowed! |
