budaatum: He very will. Along with the doctors and teachers which require university degrees, UK is suffering from a deficiency in handy people and even farm workers.
For those confused about the electricity bill President Tinubu signed some days ago and the difference between the bill and the constitutional amendment bill signed by Buhari.
I'd like to use this medium to appreciate everyone who empathize with us, those who prayed with us and those who called me from this forum without knowing who I am to offer some valuable advice which partly contributed to her returning back home yesterday on her own volition.
My sincere appreciation goes out to Seun Osewa who swiftly swung into action by moving the thread to the Frontpage immediately after I contacted him.
And to that wonderful journalist who contacted me from The Punch News, they offered to publish it and use their connection to contact the Lagos CP to expedite action on my niece's search.
Lastly to those set of people who's got warped mindset, always thinking every little girl we have in Nigeria are wayward, well, it's not really your fault because if you know how brilliant my niece is, you wouldn't doubt her purity at such tender age. I read so many unruly comments here, but decided to ignore majority of them because I believe it's almost impossible for a brilliant little girl like her, who had near perfect WAEC result at one sitting, and also scored over 300 in JAMB to be wayward at the same time. If you have her as your sister or daughter would you ever have the thought of waywardness towards her?
She had a quarrel with her aunt while her mom was at work, so she decided to punish everybody according to her by leaving the house for them.
She'd initially planned to seize the opportunity to visit her paternal grand parent in Imo state, but on getting to the park, she couldn't afford the fare, she had to go visit her friend somewhere in Ijegun, Lagos instead of heading back to Bariga. I believed her because the tracking result we got from the private tracking guy we employed showed exactly the same thing she'd earlier narrated.
Up until now I never knew there was a tracking system that gives precise location, the street name, the house number, even to the room you're, this tracking system is so effective and powerful to the point of tracking mobile number even when it's switched off.
Now, I was wondering why can't FG use same or better technology to combat insurgency in Nigeria?
So cutting the long story short, we decided to send her a text msg containing those information we gathered about her whereabout and she knew the game was up and decided to call her aunt, then her mom to inform them she was heading home already.
We're happy and glorify God for her safety. Thanks and God bless you all.
@mradjoy,
Awesome! It can be enervating not knowing whether a missing loved one has passed on or is alive.
Good to know that as a girl child, she's back home.
Last but not least, kindly give me more insights on this private tracking device you talked about in your post and how I can gain access to it?
mradjoy: Dear mods, I'm sorry if this isn't the right section to post this. Kindly help move it to the right section if necessary and push it to the front page ASAP. Thank you.
Here's my little niece who left her place of residence in Bariga, Lagos since 2nd of June, 2023.
We've reported to the nearest police station, but still need to do this.
Her name is: Udensi Ngozi Opemipo
She's 18 years old and about 5.8" tall, light in complexion.
Last seen at Murtala bus stop area of Bariga, Lagos State.
If you have seen her or know anything about her whereabout, kindly contact the nearest police station or reach out to the following numbers:
0 908 319 63 19, 0 902 181 0129
Mynd44 pls help push this to the Frontpage for maximum exposure
obaataaokpaewu: Wow!!! Look at Aboy Ndubuisi oh! Grew up in the same neighborhood with him in Okigwe, popsy is a lecturer in ABSU Umuahia campus. One of the pioneers in yahoo yahoo, made so much money, invested in some business now he's eyeing House of Representatives for his constituency(Mbano) in 2019
So, the Ndubuisi "millionaire" dude is a pioneer in scamming people and he made so much money. SMH.
ChangeIsCostant: Imo State born philanthropist, Engr. Ndubuisi Emenike, the founder of the Ndubuisi Emenike Foundation on Wednesday the 11th April 2018 dressed as a wretched man and hit a popular market known as World Bank Market in Owerri the capital city of Imo State.
According to Darlington Flowrymz Ibekwe, the multi-millionaire who disguised himself as a beggar - went round the market begging for a sum of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000) and so many people turned him down, people laughed at him, some asked him to get out of their shops angrily, but in all these, he remained calm and kept asking.
Finally, a lady offered him one thousand naira and another offered him a thousand naira again making it the sum of two thousand naira, he then called both of them out, surprisingly in front of the whole market as his entourage of over seven (7) exotic cars drove in and he pulled out fresh cash bundles and rewarded them both with Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000) each making it Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N400,000) and also returned their one thousand naira notes to them.
The World Bank Market Owerri was agog with lots of surprise as the philanthropist urged them to always lend a helping hand to those in need as they never know where their blessings might come from.
When asked why he demonstrated this act, he said; ''Today is my daughter's birthday Kourtney Emenike and I couldn't think of a better way of celebrating it if not touching lives".
The beneficiaries were still in shock over what just happened as the Imo born millionaire hopped into his convoy and zoomed off.
FreeStuffsNG: Binance Dissociates Self From Binance Nigeria Limited
Published 2 days ago on June 10, 2023 By Adedapo Adesanya
By Adedapo Adesanya
Top cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, has dissociated itself from Binance Nigeria Limited, stating that the banning of the operations of the Nigerian firm by the country’s Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) does not affect it.
According to a report by an online platform, Mariblock, it was revealed that the entity addressed in the SEC circular, Binance Nigeria Limited, has been inactive since 2019 and is unaffiliated with the entity operating Binance.com.
SEC had warned that Binance Nigeria Limited was soliciting Nigerians “to trade crypto assets on its various web and mobile-enabled platforms.”
A Binance spokesperson told the publication that, “We are aware of the circular. However, the entity mentioned in the circular (Binance Nigeria Limited) is not affiliated with us. We are therefore seeking clarity from the Nigerian SEC and remain committed to working with them cooperatively on the next steps.
“Most importantly, we want to remind users that their assets on Binance are safe, accessible and secure. Our greatest priority will always be to deliver for our users.
“The company (Binance Nigeria Limited) is not affiliated with Binance. It was only registered for arbitrage reasons when we thought Binance might want to set up operations in Nigeria. But that did not happen, and as you can see, it (Binance Nigeria Limited) is inactive.”
In a vague manner, SEC said that it would provide updates on regulatory actions against Binance Nigeria Limited and similar platforms, collaborating with Nigerian regulators to offer further guidance.
Regardless of this development, Binance continues to face troubles in the US as its American affiliate said it was halting Dollar deposits.
Binance US, the American partner of Binance, said in a tweet on Thursday that its banking partners were preparing to stop Dollar withdrawal channels as early as June 13 after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) asked a court to freeze its assets.
Customers were given a deadline of Tuesday to withdraw their funds.
Also, trading platform Robinhood Markets said it was delisting some crypto tokens after the US securities regulator stepped up its crackdown on the crypto sector.
These developments are raising worries about the future of the industry that has faced many troubles in the past, including the collapse of FTX, a banking crisis in the US, and a slowdown in funding for crypto start-ups
emmaodet: I lease the land from a friend who relocated to Canada for 10k per acre per year. For now, i will stick to leasing than outright buying. I lost 10 acres to Omo onile in 2020. Took them to state police headquarters last year and so many brouhahas. Not ready for that again.
Also, I structured my farming plan in such a way that mobility is my priority. This is Nigeria with so many issues with Fulani herdsmen and kidnapping. I structured my farm in a way that if the environment is not favourable or the investment didn't go as planned, I can either quickly close it down and move on or easily relocate to another location.
The farmland being mine will trap me down and makes me emotional but a lease can easily be shut down, equipment moved to another place easily and we continue
@emmaodet,
Thanks for the awesome feedback.
You are very wise to have leased the land this time around. I would like to suggest that you also discuss with your farm manager on how to look into the use of greenhouse technology (from Dizengorff) or cheaper options, and hydrophonics as your agribusiness expands.
I have read about folks who have used these in Lagos to grow more tomatoes, pepper, and exotic veggies using limited land space. Urban farming is key to bridging the food insecurity caused by banditry in parts of Nigeria and the Sahel region.
An insightful thread @emmaodet. Did you lease the land you are using or is it your family land? What is the process you used to acquire the land for your agribusiness at Obafemi Owode?
emmaodet: First of all, i am grateful for this forum in getting and hiring a good farm manager. My former manager frustrated me and i ran at loss last year but so far so good, the person i hired on nairaland has been faithful, loyal and hard working.
ExAngel007: A 27-year-old Nigerian woman, Stella Jumbo has showed off her new mansion a few weeks after gifting herself a 4matic Benz SUV.
The businesswoman took to Facebook on her birthday, June 10, 2023, to share photos of her new house and declared herself the youngest landlady in Akwa Ibom state.
"I present to you the youngest and latest landlady in Akwa Ibom state. Happy 27th birthday to me. Latest house owner.
Latest Benz owner. Landlady @ 27. Noiseless queen. Queen of doings. I don’t do regular," she wrote.
THE VERSACE MANSION. WHITE VILLA. SPECIAL 27th BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM ME TO ME. Congratulations to me. LATEST LANDLADY. It gladdens my heart to announce to my family and friends that today officially marks the beginning of a new era in my life as I reference the love of God upon my self and all that concerns me I owe God the gratitude for this. Becoming a landlady at this age is not a mere feat but it takes all level of great determination and passion for service to get this rightly done."
tunwumi: I was well abused for that comment. It helped me to understand the demographic of nairaland user.
I have been around for some couple of decades so it I normal to understand how events of things might turned but Nigeria still hold back it's peculiarity.
Folks like me who originally joined NL in 2005 are still here though, so we can easily identify A-list analyses from folks like you.
Back in the 2000s, we had less trolls here on NL, but since the late 2010s, the trolls (and some of the younger demographics have been relentless in using abusive language, and do not think through their responses).
You were uncannily spot-on in your projected price range N450-N500 per litre of PMS (after subsidy removal). I respect you for that.
Saladdin: Dr Gerrard59, most of the principles and knowledge learnt at HBS will fail in Nigeria o. This is because it lacks the necessary 'local content'.
Most of our top guys in corporate Nigeria only go there for bragging rights and the network. Nothing overly special with HBS. In Nigeria, MBA from LBS is practically more useful than the one gotten from HBS.
Nwuneli's is really trying, but her business is yet to get the expected trajectory. This still leads to the first paragraph above.
Mira Mehta's agribusiness enjoys fully support from Kaduna State politically, fiscally and security-wise courtesy of Kaduna State Government. Most businesses in the state do not enjoy this privilege.
Her factory is located in the Northern Part of Kaduna which is relatively safe, plus it is well-guarded by the police and the military. Plus she got the large portion of land at near zero cost.
She's used by El-Eufai as the 'postal child' of Modern entrepreneurship in Kaduna (El-Rufai actually made significant strides here). This is because he wanted to attract more investors to the state and brag about an Oyinbo doing business in his state. Even at that, she's barely staying afloat, as foreign pastes (e.g Gino) are still beating her to it in Kaduna and the entire North. You can hardly find her paste around.
If not for all these supports, hand for don touch her tey tey.
Gerrard59: It is the reason when someone says he or she does agribusiness on a huge scale, I am always interested in how they cope with the rising insecurity. I recall sending Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli an email to her personal email address, which she replied, but I did not follow up. But I admired the work they did. Even Rotimi Williams made the news then as the second largest rice grower after Olam. How do ordinary agribusiness entrepreneurs cope if these folks with their HBS qualifications and network cannot secure their farmers? Also, a few are wailing on TwitterNG. Although Tomato Jos by Mehta and Yemisi Iranloye of Psaltry International are doing pretty well, I am curious how other big agribusiness entrepreneurs are coping? Especially if out-growers who they depend on are being killed.
But bants aside, if HBS folks cannot use their influence to stem the insecurity tide, e get as e be o. I thought HBS know the movers and shakers in the countries they work in. After all, Mehta na HBS alumna too
Only some parts of Nigeria are safe for big-ticket agribusiness.
A military tougher stance must be taken against the bandits with the use of aerial drones and satellite technologies to alert locally based security agents to deal with the mainly foreign bandits from Mali, Niger, Chad, Cameroon.
politicoNG: From the late Roy Pentelow Fenton, the first foreign Governor who served from July 24, 1958, to July 24, 1963, to the distinguished leaders who succeeded him, each Governor has left a distinctive mark.
Just a quick one, Lamido Sanusi Lamido was suspended by the GEJ administration in February 2014 to pave way for Godwin Emefiele's entry 4 months later, just like Godwin Emefiele was suspended by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration in June 2023.
Emefiele's suspension is NOT new but has a precedent.
tunwumi: The currency will be stable as the loophole of subsidy payment will be blocked. But the main issue is the purchasing power within the economy as the price of fuel may be around 450-500.
Most Nigerian are unreasonable in commodity pricing, they are on the exploitation campaign. This is subject to a lot of uncertainty but the removal must be done. The government will have a lot of money at hand to spend with the removal.
We have to close mark the state governors as they will become wasteful due to surplus funds.
It will make a lot of sense if Dangote refinery can also come on stream. It will help to control the prices as transaction will be in niara.
sukkot: yeah truthfully you would not be looking to scam and appear on national TV with the edo state governor for the whole country to see your face. A person with intentions to scam would not do that. It's obviously two guys who got overwhelmed by the volume of what they indulged in. It got out of hand . But I blame the greedy investors. Who pays interest of 40 percent ? It's not sustainable. You lost your money due to greed, suck it up buttercup and move on with your life. Hopefully you learnt a valuable lesson that no free money in China lmaooooo. Top of the morning to you brother
Indeed... Although investors got paid their interest at the very beginning, 40 percent ROI is high. Due diligence is key.
sukkot: But truly I don't think these guys intention was to scam. I think they just ran out of money. I have been to their shop on admiralty way Lekki and it is beautifully situated facing the water. The product is good quality and they employ a lot of workers.
Upstairs is a restaurant and downstairs a juice and muffins bar and middle floor is the supermarket. Then one day a few months ago I went in and the shelves were empty and it looked like they were packing out and running. Even the frontline workers looked confused and didn't know what was happening. I bet they do now. I asked the guy in the bread and wine section if they were closing down and even he looked befuddled and confused and didn't know what was happening
Hello Sukkot,
Nice perspectives from you there.
I saw the picture on page 1 of the two dudes who are the co-owners of the failed agribusiness scheme standing next to a standard greenhouse, so they must have initially invested with good intentions with their Edo State-based farms like you earlier stated. High overhead costs and financial recklessness obviously nailed them.
But the dishonest attitude of leaving their many investors in a limbo since December 2021 without paying the initial investments and interest to the investors is what riles me here.
Folks in the Diaspora and back in Nigeria have been targets of many of these failed agribusiness schemes as seen on YouTube. It is important for everyone to stay away from these agribusiness schemes and invest in your own live farms through the leasing of land in areas such as Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry, and set up greenhouses for urban tomato, pepper, veggies, and strawberry farming, etc,
The Interpol must be used to bring those guys back to justice.
Another agribusiness ponzi scheme gone wrong. All Diasporans and folks back in Nigeria must STAY far away from any of these crazy agric investment schemes from here on out.
The Interpol has to go after these two dudes and bring them to justice and where possible pay some refund to the investors. They two dishonest guys definitely are not going to be based in Nigeria so the Interpol must be involved.
Bigkoko: God bless ex president Buhari, God bless Dr Emefiele. While we don't know what satanic agreement APC signed together in blood IN 2014, that made the drug mule to go and cry emilo kan emilo kan, as if ruling is a turn by turn thing, WE APPRECIATE the tenacity & bravery of the duo in making sure the drug mule didn't buy votes at the polls but rather resorted to self help through an equally useless, corrupt INEC Chair. This is great news. As we are now fully aware of how they stole the election. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an illegitimate usurper.
For once we now said how empty, shallow and myopic the drug mule actually was, and still is. Got whopped in his lagos with a weakling of governor, got whopped in his state of origin of Osun and finally humiliated in FCT where he planned to rule.....
Since Adolf plunged Europe & the world at large into war of epic propulsions, the Europeans & Americans have legalized aborts & and contraceptives. Imagine all these upheavals could have be solved by less than $5......
Bigkoko: The sorrow state of severally damaged people who lined up behind a drug mule..... They were abused, forced to accept their abusers as the only hope to food and too bad, tries to force other sane minded fellows to accept their poor & unfortunate choices.... Spites. Go to Europe & see semblance of a functioning society. Go to North America, see the semblance of a functioning society... Even visit small Dubai, Qatar etc, see basic amenities met with ease.... Come down to Africa, Nigeria especially, see professors, conniving with agberos & their over rated masters to thwart validly casted election results.... Na waoohhh. Una shame dey shame me abeg.
I pray i quick get my second passport so i can toss una passport to una. After all black Americans were once Africans! Steady una no get. Strong internet for where. Water not available. functioning clinics... whosyyy?
Yet same poor people and few idiots abroad still supports these crooks!
Image having a mentor who is also a drug mule? Imagine having a mentor who cries for power like a witch at night? God forbid.....
Bigkoko: It's not a competiton of who will be exposed...... The only drug mule we know for now, that has a forfeiture order against hin...up to $460,000 in far away USA is Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is widely assumed to have stolen the electoral mandate of Nigerians, and whose short lived Govt would be tossed out in as little as 9 months; assumingour gallant justices would live up to their judicial responsibilities! Go and charge your phone with i-pass-my-neigbour-gen before replying... expose ko, expose ni.....lol
While i sympathize with those who feel they can steal elections & give democracy speeches, i also sympathize with a nation that would allow such broad day heists of votes!
Let me ask Mr. Bola aka the drug mule, how do you feel knowing fully well you stole someone's mandate? Ohhh i forgot, their conscience is all dead....
ijustdey: Traders are flocking to the Urals crude blend because they see the Nigerian grades as relatively pricey, with traders reluctant to offload the country’s cargoes.
Nigeria is more of a gas-producing country than a crude oil producer, so the short to long-term focus should be on ramping up global gas sales and value-addition in the petrochemical ecosystem.
