Josephobaz1985: how many people have died in your family? For us to prove that "people " are dying. Atleast you should be a witness first to make the rest of us believe. Because in Italy or Spain or America there is hardly no one who does not have a family member or neighbor that have died from covid. In my area or family no one In other words, you want thousands of deaths before you believe? Free education was a mistake. SMH |

Angelfrost: Those countries are showing clear proof of testing, isolation, hospitalizations, and even deaths... Every inch of those nations is quite transparent with regards to new cases, recoveries, and disease progression...
All we do here is wake up to figures like it's a bloody election... Who and who are being tested??! What are the criteria for the testing across the states of the federation??! How many contacts have been traced, tested, isolated and hospitalized since February??!... How many states' isolation centers are in use??!... What is the pathophysiology of the pandemic across the nation??!.... How many symptomatic cases have been reported across the nation??!
If after 2 weeks of lock down in most parts of the nation especially Abuja and Lagos, how many manifested cases were isolated that would warrant further lock down??! If there are new cases, how did they get infected and how were the infections detected if less than 2000 are being tested in a population of millions??!...
You see, when nothing is transparent, why won't the average citizen make light of these things??! Don't be naive. Nobody releases the names of those being tested. What do you even want to do with their names? I know you want to see mass deaths before you are convinced. Maybe you will see it, but don't be so sure you won't be one the casualties. |

Legendguru: Don’t believe everything you the white man says.i know these people.if virus kills that fast 5 percent of nigerians would have been dead by now with the clueless government we have. Most of you seem incapable of reasoning without adding some conspiracies. Maybe all those country leaders secretly met to steal money from their citizens via "audio" coronavirus which doesn't kills. Even those whose political fortune could be destroyed agree to the scamming of their populace. Even non-white countries such as Iran agreed to kill their citizens by injecting them to death just to steal money. How fast does the virus really kill? I am more concern about people who don’t know where to get the next meal. I’m rich already and I have played my part in my community. But the fact is you can do enough for everyone , it’s never enough No, you are not. What do you think will happen if people believe your irresponsible conjectures and our health system is overwhelmed with infected patients? Well, you are likely one of those who stays who light a fire on others from a safe distance. You are endangering their lives by lying about the disease and its real effects. You showed extreme ignorance by wanting to report Nigeria to the UN. Do you think, it is a parent-children relationship? What will the UN do? |

Ayoefa: The way some where going about bragging about Amotekun gives the impression that they are all ready set to go.
That's not my main reason for asking the question sarcastically, it's because we always put the cart before the horse. The biggest crime problem in the SW is not about Fulani Herdsmen but about thugs, gangs. cult and the like but the talk of FUlani Herdsmen is more politically expedient for the politicians hence all the cacophony and hoopla about the Amotekun lunch. Isn't crazy to create a security out fit to go after a crime that come up once in a month or even more but ignore crimes that occur on daily basis. I swear black man is condemned to doom for the next 100 years. I said it from scratch that Amotekun idea is as foolish as a toddler asking for permission to drive a car. Common sense will dictate that you will create a security outfit to tackle all crimes in the SW not just a crime that comes around so infrequently just because you want to satisfy your political base. Pure rubbish. You don't need to engage in self-hating rants because you don't understand the rational behind a response. Let us look at your perfect "whites". 9/11 killed merely 3000 people while gang-related deaths fuelled by drugs kills about 33,000 per year. The US created homeland security to tackle terrorists in 2002 in response to the attacks. Why didn't the US ruled by white men create an organization to fight "All crimes" and instead focus on an infrequent once in many decades attack? Are they so foolish to realize that other crimes kill more people per year? Was it to satisfy the political base? There will always be criminals the same way there will always be diseases. But all crimes are not equal and I am not talking about severity here. Why do you think there was lockdown for Coronavirus when other diseases kill more people per year? The function of the government is to provide stability. Any deviation from the norm is problematic for the image of the affected community and could have devastating economic consequences. The SW governors made an intelligent decision to tackle a new problem of herdsmen kidnapping people in highways and their farms. I have been traveling the highways for years and I have never been fearful of being kidnapped until the herdsmen decided to abandon cows for people. Asking governors to tackle all crimes is a meaningless request. When new dangers present themselves, we must respond and not bury our head in sand. Finally, it is disingenuous to be asking about Amotekun when you know it hasn't been organized just to taunt the supporters. |

Best approach is sensitize the populace of what to come at least 3 days prio notice and make adequate provisions. As a scientist I don't work with rumors I work with facts. Meanwhile we all can not be privileged to work for government or private coporations please note. Only last night boys in my hood has gone on the rampage breaking peoples shops and homes and ur government was not even there to help us. What connects the crazy 5G conspiracies to the government action that have already been executed by many other countries? Those boys in your hood couldn't help themselves even if they have a year to prepare. They are usually the jobless touts with no skills nor future prospects. You should be more concerned about solving real problems in your hood than blaming the government for fighting coronavirus. |

Its very easy to argue it away but that's a very selfish perspective Comfortable with lockdown? You have no idea. On the contrary, the upper-class a majority of all the violators' arrests made by the police. Secondly, no one was caught unawares as you claimed. The rumor of a lockdown has been spreading for weeks even among illiterates. I don't know where you live but people in poorer neighborhood hardly observe the lockdown. Farmdog: @The only reason being that the virus dies easily in temperatures above 27 degrees.... Africa death recordings seems to be steady/less than expected mostly because of the hot weather. The above is false. You need to expose the virus to at least 56 degrees for 90 minutes plus to inactivate it. You can't survive such exposure yourself. Africa's younger population is probably the reason there are lower deaths. |

All those reasons are silly excuses by the government. They are not testing because they don't want to. By now anyone with faintly close symptoms of the disease should be tested. But people can't get tested because you have to satisfy some criteria or be near death to be considered.
To make matters worse, we don't know the government's endgame. Neither the unresponsive NCDC nor the ministry of health has published any public policy towards ending the infection.
They appear to have adopted the "let us wait it out" strategy that has failed countless countries. They forgot that they can't lockdown forever. |
