I understand that the government does not want to fix prices because of electoral ambitions, but they can actually do it through the monarchs who are not elected. There's no fear of any monarch being voted out by the people. No! Replace the local government chairmen with these monarchs. It'll save cost and it's more beneficial.

Until the government ban the importation of generators and other power generating devices, ( though that's going to be the toughest decision ever ) and declare a state of emergency on the power sector, allow independent both local and foreign investors to build power plants just like Telecommunication sector, Nigeria will never

When they build, they destroy it so that more money could pumped there and looted, creating more avenue for the importers of power generating devices to extort and make more money from Nigerians. These are the people sabotaging the power sector, they're the worst cabals, they've never been touched s by any successive government in power at any time, which makes me to believe that it's government sabotaging government in power sector.

Ban importation of generators and other power generating devices and watch the economy go into coma. You think banning those things make sense or it will suddenly increase power supply? They can only be banned after there's enough megawatts for uninterrupted supply in the country. If those things are banned, what power will manufacturing firms and others use to keep operating?

How fast does it burn? Faster than PMS and AGO or slower? It's not just about the price per scm, how much of it will be consumed is what will determine how it'll really affect transportation fares.

Looks like I'm the only one that noticed that the article explained that the former minister for power in May 2023 said the same HEP had been tested and connected to the national grid. Yet the present minister for power is saying that they just started the testing and just did the connection to the national grid. Something is definitely amiss. How's the present minister claiming to be doing something that the former minister claimed to have done last year?

What this means is that a competent company will be sub-contracted to do a cheap work(usually a poor one) while the suite case company featured in this news inserts a hefty profit for themselves. The result is either delayed or extremely poor job.

The contract will not be executed. The competent company will mobilise to site, shovel the ground a bit and abandon work. Nothing is getting done here.

A very welcome development. For those saying the state government will abuse it, is the Federal Government not presently abusing it? At least it will reveal true federalism and also brings security closer to the people. Plus, the madness about one tribe being in charge of the whole police system as the IG will also reduce. It will also gender better working conditions for the officers. No arbitrary transfer from one state to the other, and they will be within their terrains of familiarity. There are cons, albeit we cannot eat our cake and still have it. Nigeria is grossly underpoliced, no thanks to the centralisation of the police system.

This puts places them in very compromising position and always affects their judgement.

My takeaway from the story is it looks planned. More so, given that it happened around 8pm to 8:30pm. It's night already. A man can be easily killed under the pretext of gun salute at that time. The more reason they quickly killed the person who shot him.

A mob couldn't have killed the guard around that time. Also, this is a home of a prince. It's a private property. So which mob would have been aware of who was shot in that compound at that time and which mob would have dared venture into a private property around that time to go and avenge a man that was shot? Too many lapses in the story.
