Timoleon:
Since inception? Which year do you think the women’s champions league started? Lyon are undoubtedly the dominant force in the history of the women’s champions league, your submission was however wrong. There have been several other winners. 6 of Lyon’s 8 wins came in the last 7 seasons. The women’s champions league started in 2001. Saying Lyon won it all except 1 since inception is too fallacious to be ignored.
My mistake! I own up to it. Thanks.

Football is very very unpredictable.
If you think Barca are that strong, then you must not know much about European female club football. Lyon is the dominant force in Europe. Since the last 8 seasons of female UCL, they have won it on each occasion except for last year that they slept off and Barca won it.

They only took back their trophy.

Speaking of rescue attempts, there are very limited options. It is either government locates the terrorist camp and goes scorched-earth on them, launching bombs from the air, or gets a commando force to launch a clinical attack on the camp. Both options are high risk as the victims could be significantly impacted by the operations.

The only other option is to pay out a ransom for the victims...an option that will only further embolden the terrorists to launch more strikes and take more victims. I am not sure any government will want to do that.

Except by some divine intervention, I am afraid the victims and their families are in for a dire and very long ride on this matter.
Your observations are very correct. Prevention is yet better than cure then. I am not sure preventive measures are in place to forestall future occurrences of such. My prayers are with the victims.

This man is too desperate to be a good leader. No cogent agenda or manifesto since he declared. Just empty words all over the place.

Let money be removed from the equation and he and all his cronies know that he stands no chance even in his backyard.

With his statement that he won't retire until he becomes the President, it is crystal clear that he's an empty barrel. Nigeria might just be in for a long thing. Lagos big uncle is not coming to serve, he's just coming to fulfil a lifelong ambition.

Like seriously.
Media just dey hype to entice fickle minds to their destruction.
Suicide rate and regret is directly proportional with them.

You know some of the victims are lucky to get a very good support system when their regret starts and they are able to detransition as an option.

Some others are not so lucky and when the regret gets the better of them, suicide seems to be the next option for them.

Media is not giving attention to the regrets and depression that follows afterwards but only to the fake glamour and initial euphoria they feel.

It's all deception to catch the gullible; those who never ever seem satisfied with their freely given gifts from GOD.

And it is about the money too for the Docs like oz4real83 already mentioned.
You have correctly said it all. I just hope more people get enlightened with this truth so they know what they are really getting into by transitioning.

If you don't give it a try, how will you get a chance for it to come good? How will you know if it could work?

You can hold on to your insecurities and let her go, but you most likely will end up with regrets about not even giving it a chance.

Give it a chance and you might win or get heartbroken. Don't give it a chance and you will have your fears and insecurities with some regrets sprinkled on them in a while.

The choice? All yours.

EducationRe: Emeka Nwajiuba: Striking ASUU Members Shouldn’t Be Paid – Education Minister by Yadid(m): 4:09pm On May 03, 2022
So many people speaking from both sides of their mouth. Shame! One moment they wish NLC has balls like ASUU, another moment ASUU is selfish and yada yada yada.

Call ASUU selfish if what they are fighting for is only about their own salaries and emoluments and not also about funding of the universities and some other things.

What is unclear to many people is that the more FG withdraws from funding the universities, the more the responsibility falls on the common man whose children are in the public universities.

ASUU strike saved me from becoming a university dropout. If they had not kicked against FG's proposal to withdraw from funding universities then, I wonder what would have happened to me and many others.

Call ASUU selfish because their interest is involved, when your employer wants to short-change you, don't kick against it just so you will not be seen as selfish.

Peace!

PoliticsRe: Reasons Tinubu Will Floor Osinbajo At APC Presidential Primary by Yadid(m): 5:00pm On Apr 15, 2022
Your first point though, quite laughable. Tinubu's political structure survived OBJs onslaughthuh You really think sohuh You must have forgotten that it was Atiku who went against OBJs directive to boot Tinubu out of Lagos, a fact that Atiku attested to as a regret in the run up to 2019. As for GEJ, Tinubu did not survive him either, it was a matter of one good turn deserves another. Since BAT helped GEJ in the 2011 elections at the expense of Ribadu, GEJ had no choice but to look away. That also came back to haunt him as it did Atiku.

You folks should stop portraying BAT as invincible. If he really is that invincible, why did he opt for an out of court settlement with that former AlphaBeta director that sued himhuh

Truth is, Tinubu was made by men and he can be brought down by men. Fingers crossed towards 2023.

PS: If he really has everything on lockdown, then he should not have had a plan B of defecting to SDP.

saphiere:
MOST TIMES I would just sit down and wish God didn't create the male gender.

Even God regretted creating this gender.

As at the time God made that statement "Let us create man in our own image" He was actually referring to making Adam alone. Woman "Eve" was not in the picture. Eve came as an afterthought.
Read your Bible very well you'd understand that God didn't regret or made the statement , "I regret making ......" when Eve failed. That statement came out after the sons not daughters o. The sons of man did abominable acts.
You could have just stated your opinion (albeit wrong) without twisting the scriptures.

The woman was never an afterthought. See Genesis 1:27
[27]So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Both the man and woman were created on the same day in Genesis 1. It is only in Genesis chapter 2 where the bible talks about the FORMATION, NOT CREATION of mankind that the male preceded the female.

The man was formed before the woman, but he was never created before her.

Lastly, "man" in all the scriptures you quoted up there refers to mankind/humanity which covers both male and female. I'm sure your bible did not say 'men' or 'the men' or 'the man' to specifically refer to only male human beings. Even in the 21st century, 'man' refers to both male and female. 'Man is a political animal' does not connote just male human beings.

Thanks and lots of love.

For those who think subsidy removal will automatically make Nigeria to be like UAE, this is it here. Oil is being sold with the money going to private pockets.

Subsidy removal will make citizens pay more for oil and the money accrued from oil sale will still end up in some private purses. It's a win-win for the looters.

Though subsidy itself is another scam.

RomanceRe: Is This The Best Way To End ASUU Strike? (PICTURES) by Yadid(m): 4:54pm On Mar 14, 2022
This will never solve the problem. What most of us don't understand is that educational problem in Nigeria is primarily an institutional one. The financial aspect of it is secondary. Our educational system lacks basic structure.

10 billion naira? Even 20 will not solve the problem. Do you know how much ASUU's EAA alone is? Then to talk of funding the universities, do you know how much each university expends to function yearly?

Let us not even start what we cannot finish. A one-time donation does not resolve the matter and I'm sure no Nigerian is ready to start playing government. After taxes upon taxes, so citizens will still be the one to fulfil government's responsibilities? Nah!
Christianity EtcDoes God Really Cut Off Unfruitful Branches? John 15:2 by Yadid(op): 6:35am On Mar 12, 2022
Does God Really Cut Off Unfruitful Branches?

That appears to be what the bible says in John 15:2
[2]Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Take that at face value and you might be tempted to think that fruitfulness is a condition for remaining in Christ. On the contrary, fruitfulness is a result of, not a condition for, abiding in Christ.
Does God really cut off unfruitful branches in Christ? No, He does not. The phrase translated 'take away' in John 15:2 is actually from the Greek word 'airo'. 'Airo' means to bear up or lift up. In ancient Israel, vinedressers take notice of branches that are not bearing fruit. These branches are often the ones hanging down. To make them fruitful, they are lifted up from the ground, watered and then place in a top place where they can get more sunlight.
God does not cast any man away. Do not be deceived by those who say that God does not associate with unfruitfulness. God's way of dealing with unfruitfulness is to abound in Grace towards us more. If God were to be casting away unfruitful branches, then no man can actually abide in Christ. We are all going to get cast away.
It is not surprising that this verse is often erroneously used by those who think they have it altogether by themselves to whack those who seem not to be doing so well. What says the scripture about our Lord? John 6:37
[37]All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Jesus said He will cast no one that comes to Him out, how do we then even think that He will cast away unfruitful branches? That will only make it appear that Jesus Himself is confused and does not really know what He was saying.
Beloved, your Father is not going to let go of you just because you seem not to be fruitful or you seem barren. Remember Isaiah 54? Let us see it. Isaiah 54:1-5
[1]Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
[2]Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
[3]For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.
[4]Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
[5]For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
God called Himself the Husband of this barren woman. She was not chosen for her fruitfulness. She was actually barren. God is not sticking with us for what we can offer Him. Picture your own earthly parents letting you know that they are only sticking with you for what they stand to gain from you. Will you consider them to be loving towards you? No, you will not. This is actually the picture that religion paints of our Father. He is seen as the God who needs to be appeased and who is after what we can offer Him. His disposition being that of 'perform or be fired'.
A bruised reed He will not break and a smoking flax will He not quench. A bruised reed is no longer fit for use and a smoking flax deserves only to be quenched. Yet Christ will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax. (Matthew 12:20).
How does God then lift up the unfruitful branches? It is through the word of His Grace. Hearing the law does not lift any man up, though it might stir up the flesh to get on the performance mill, but there will not be any true and lasting lifting in the man himself. Look around you, I am sure you will be able to point to one or two believers who seem to be doing more than you, but do you know how empty they might be feeling deep on the inside? A busy life is not necessarily a full life. It is only the word of Grace that truly lifts a man up. The word of His Grace is the word of hope. Christ in us is the hope of glory.
It is the same word of Grace that God uses to take up the unfruitful branches that He also uses to purge the fruitful one that it might bring forth much fruit. The word 'purge' in John 15:2 has the same root word as the word 'clean' in verse 3. The root word is 'katharos' which means 'to clean, to purify'. The unfruitful branch has fallen from Grace, so God takes it back up to His Grace. The fruitful one on the other hand is cleansed and purified more and more from the mixed 'gospel' (of Grace plus works) that seeks to corrupt it.
Dear, your maturity is hinged upon your security in Christ. God does not take away the unfruitful branch, rather He lifts it up. Now that is security. It is security that births maturity, not vice versa. Religion has taught many of us that our security is dependent upon our maturity, but that is an untruth. Without security, we cannot grow to maturity. In fact, our journey to maturity is simply that of knowing how secure He has made us in Himself. Out there in the world, business people consider the security of a place before setting up their businesses in that place. Why? Because the security will determine the growth and sustenance of their businesses. It is not the growth of their businesses that determines the security of that place.
In Christ Jesus, we are all secure and are not in danger of hell or losing our salvation. We are eternally secure and knowing this is what causes us to go on to maturity in Christ. Think you are not doing well enough? Well, God wants to lift you up, not cast you away. Rest, beloved.
Grace always!

This 2023 will be sweet!! Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria. God bless Nigeria forever!
Sincerely,I am not surprised that the amendment did not sail through.

One good thing is that all these sudden developments will all still end in praise to God for the Asiwaju Tinubu victory at the Presidential poll.

On the mandate of Asiwaju Tinubu I stand. Please support and vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.

Only patriotic Nigerians whose hearts are not filled with hatred, bitterness and bigotry are on board the BAT 2023 winning train.

Patriotic Nigerians on the BAT 2023 winning train are the Nigerians who have a stake in Nigeria and genuinely want to see Nigeria flourish, they are the Nigerians who will rather love than hate, who will rather build than burn/destroy and who will rather bless their nation than curse it.
They are not bigoted tribesmen and those who spread hate against their fellow human being.

Asiwaju Tinubu is a brilliant visionary leader who is a Patriot to the core. He will keep his promise to take Nigeria to greater heights.

Please support Asiwaju Tinubu. Asiwaju Tinubu will keep his promise to take Nigeria to greater heights.

I may need to take you down memory lane of his account of stewardship in public office in case you do not know or trying to ignore the significance of Asiwaju's sterling performance in office as a reason he is being rewarded woth support today.

As the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Tinubu recovered what is now called Eko Atlantic from the raging Atlantic ocean Lagos Bar beach coast line flooding (for decades that problem even some of the more developed nations explain away as climate change problems) defied all solutions by FG and the highbrow strategic Victoria Island was deteriorating fast with businesses, embassies, hotels etc exiting VI in droves. During that time, the Atlantic ocean flooding reach the fringes of Ozumba after the flood completely take over Adetokunbo Ademola. Lagos State Government under the brilliant , resourceful and hardworking Asiwaju Tinubu solved that herculean challenge and today, VI is back to its glory.

It was Asiwaju Tinubu that brought back the Lagos Central Business District and Broad street commercial nerve centre of Nigeria back to life after it was abandoned, it's Asiwaju Tinubu who built major roads from Oregun to Lawanson to Igando LASU to as far as Badagry etc.

Asiwaju Tinubu is the one who fixed the horrible waste problem we had in Lagos and that LASTMA and BRT you see was created by Asiwaju. Asiwaju Tinubu was the one who got Lagos State to be part of the owners of Econet and unlike Delta State where the shares were sold and funds pocketed, Lagos State Shares were warehoused with professional investors in the state investment agency called Ibile holdings.

Asiwaju Tinubu increased bursaries to students of Lagos State origin (NULASS) and made public schools free for all Lagosians regardless of your tribe, religion or political party affiliation after his administration had successfully returned missionary schools to their original owners( other states later copied Lagos) . It was during his tenure that Ikeja General Hospital became a teaching Hospital, upgraded most of the clinics to General Hospitals giving free health to the 5 years and below and Lagosians of 65 years and above age group. .

The fund that BRF used to quickly build infrastructures were the LGA funds withheld by Pa Obasanjo and despite that Asiwaju Tinubu never owed salaries.
When the purchase of FG refineries by Alhaji Dangote was cancelled by HE Yardua, Alhaji Aliko Dangote ran to Asiwaju Tinubu after most state governments and governors in the SS gave Dangote a cold shoulder. Today, through the assistance Asiwaju Tinubu gave Aliko Dangote, Dangote Refinery is taking off to help us stop the petrol subsidy killing our naira and public finances.

Asiwaju Tinubu is loyal to those who paid the ultimate price for our democracy and today heroes like Bagauda Kalto, Pa Alfred Rewane, Pa Abraham Adesanya etc are immortalized in Lagos . One of the most memorable achievements of Asiwaju Tinubu for me was helping to stop the blood letting and recurring Hausa-Yoruba/OPC war in Idi Araba and Agege. Those hellish period of unrest defied even the effort of past military state administrators of Lagos but Asiwaju Tinubu was able to solve it.

That Lagos State Government civil service is regarded as the best in Nigeria is due to the hardwork Asiwaju Tinubu did to reform it, created Tutors-Generals offices, improved harmonized pay structure, best pension scheme for civil servants etc.
I can go on and on to educate you on the legacies of Asiwaju Tinubu still standing till today as my reasons for my confidence in Asiwaju Tinubu sir/ma

That's why my appeal goes to you my fellow patriotic Nigerians to please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.
Please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu.

What do you mean by only patriotic Nigerians are on board with BAT? Do you really know the meaning of patriotism sir/ma? Patriotism is to a country, not to any man. That sentence in your writing is irksome. Support whom you will, but don't imply that others who do not are unpatriotic. That makes no sense.
