A pathetic one it is. Mind you, most of our VIPs in this country do not know that they actually compromise their own security by subjecting their security personnel to things like this. Imagine someone had tried to attack that woman right there, the officer would not have been able to react on time. In fact, he most likely would not have easily spotted her attacker. Bouncers don't engage in this kind of bunkum. They won't even hold your purse for you, talk more of carrying a tray of food. |
Romans 12:1 [1]I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. It is by the mercies of God that we present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. It is not by condemnation. It is not by judgment. It is not by wrath. By the mercies of God, we yield our bodies to Him, just as by His goodness, we repent (turn to right believing). More often than not, what we hear in our local assemblies is very contrary to the above scripture. We hear messages that sound like it is by the wrath, fearful judgment and condemnation of God that believers will yield their bodies to God. Then we wonder why it is the case that the more people are told to yield their bodies, the more rebellious they get at it. Knowing the mercies of God, no man will ever shy away from drawing near to Him. Peter and co experienced the mercies of God by Christ Jesus after they had toiled all night with nothing to show for it, but Jesus in few words blessed them with a net-breaking, boat-sinking load of fishes. When He said they shall be fishers of men thereafter, did they yield themselves to Him or not? They did. They forsook their boats and the draught of fishes and followed Him immediately without blinking an eye or thinking twice about it. Luke 5:1-11 [1]And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, [2]And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. [3]And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. [4]Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. [5]And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. [6]And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. [7]And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. [8]When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. [9]For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: [10]And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. [11]And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him. The more we hear the mercies of God preached, the more we present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him. After all, who yields to someone who is out to get him/her? Who presents his/her body to someone who is mad at him/her and wants to judge him/her? No one! Romans 12:1 is one that almost all of us are conversant with, but we have not known the message in it. We focus on the part about the presentation of our bodies but diminish the part of God's mercies right there. Yet without the mercies of God, none of us will present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. The key right there is "the mercies of God", yet religion has blinded us to it. We do not see what is greater in that verse. God's mercies is actually greater than our bodies put together. The enemy has got our focus on the wrong thing-our bodies, instead of on God's mercies. Beloved saint, no man can focus on the mercies of God without presenting his body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, just as no one can take his/her bath and not be wet. Peter and his companions could not receive the goodness of Jesus Christ demonstrated in that load of fishes and not follow Him. It is by the mercies of God, not by determination or commitment or self-efforts. It is by the mercies of God that we present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God and that is how we get to not conform to the world, but are transformed by the renewing of our minds. Grace always! |
kingxsamz:Strawman! Better to keep quiet sometimes than to spew out senselessness. I was never talking to you man. Can't even follow a line of reasoning. Shame! |
See people saying there's nothing diabolical there. Lol. This stupid wokeness eh, one day you will say there is nothing like the devil. Bro/Sis, carefully take the right step out of that place. |
I probably don't know much about issues like this, but one thing is that innocent lives are being lost and that hurts me. That America has done things like this in the past does not justify Putin doing so now. That thinking is flawed. It is akin to saying that because Mr A stole yesterday, therefore it is okay for Mr B to steal today. I can understand the Ukrainian President not wanting to dialogue. It is obvious that Russia wants him out of power and wants to install their puppet as the leader of Ukraine. That in itself, is another breach of Ukrainian sovereignty and it's akin to enslaving them. All in all, I pray that a solution is found and peace is restored. PS: Common sense is a gift of God. It is not a default attribute of every human being. This international madness shows it. |
According to reports, it was actually the youths of that area that recovered the money. NP is trying to take the glory for what they did not do. |
Obasanjo, one man I love for his respect for institutions. |
Misleading pictures. How can those few buildings be ₦1.1 billion? Why take the pictures from afar? Who is fooling who Lol. |
So Reno is stylishly telling us that Tinubu is the next president right? Or what is the meaning of Tinubu in Aso Rock after Buhari's tenure? |
scally11:OAU |
And for those who think CR7 was the problem at Juve and now at United, please where is Juventus on the serie A log now? I bet Chiellini is eating his words now. Ronaldo should just feign injury for like a month. I want to see something. Maybe he'll be appreciated then. |
Jephyard:The team that Ibra played in is more balanced than this one sir/ma. Don't compare at all. |
Probably the only football legends I detest in England right now are United legends. They all seem to always go in the same direction. Okay, CR7 is the problem, great. The matches he has not played, did United win? No! Who took United to the UCL round of 16? CR7. Before he joined, United did not win any UCL game. Still he's the problem right? Maguire plays nonsense, none of these legends say a thing. Scholesy laid into RR last week calling him a sporting director and not a coach, yet same man never saw a thing wrong with OGS. Ferdinand was excusing Maguire's performance calling it a hangover from the Euros, was it only Maguire that played at the Euros plus the Euros ended how many months ago? Then Gary Neville found his voice concerning Zouma's kicking of cat, but we heard nothing from him concerning Greenwood till now. (How Zouma's case got that much attention and Greenwood's is being concealed still beats me. Racism at its peak). If Pogba gets a haircut, it's a crime. A video of him praying got online, they still bashed him for it. Why These legends lack critical comprehension. I don't see the legends of other clubs being this biased. Paul Merson was clear on Arsenal selling Auba calling it a risky one. At United, the non-English players are often the scapegoats for the legends to criticise. I wish CR7 would just act like a mercenary like Cavani has been doing. Opt out of games at will, let's see if United suddenly starts winning like City then. There's a clear difference between being selfish and expressing frustration at the incredibly low standard on display at United. CR7's crime? He's never one to shy away from expressing his feelings. Messi would have done same but in a quiet manner. Anyone who knows Messi knows that when his team plays nonsense he switches off and do some gestures to show his disappointment. Maybe it's time they start talking about Maguire, Rashford, Shaw and co, but no, they won't. Those ones are English legends. Mtchew! I wish CR7 never went back to United. Past two seasons, United was carried by Fernandes alone. His reward? Scholesy and co criticise him after every match now. They don't see Maguire and co, no! At the end of the day, this English agenda will ruin United. We are watching! |
baralatie:Exactly! A lot of them need to be flushed out of that place. |
Pochettino is not an upgrade on Rangnick. I'd rather they leave Rangnick than hire Pochettino. Even Ten Hag is doubtful. For me, the best man for the job remains our best manager since Fergie left and that is Jose Mourinho. Within two years under Mourinho, United will win at least one trophy, that is certain. |
"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret" As it stands, you are not in the best frame of mind, as such any decision you take right now might be one to regret in few days to come. Take a time out for yourself. Do nothing about it for the next few days, by then your mind will be clear and you'll be able to think straight. In life, everything requires time and patience, including anger and hurt. |
Allnacruise:Thank you for highlighting that part. Clearly shows the woman and her husband are also complicit. |
ElderE:Impossible! He does not have the combination for either of the two |
This one hits very close to the marrows. Nice one op. I'm speechless to say more. |
SMH. Our hypocrisy in this country is on another level. I'm surprised no one addressed the root of the matter. Is it not babaláwos who do these things for the boys? No one is attacking babaláwos now. In fact they are not being mentioned talkless of being criticised, yet we know they are the main culprit at the root of these issues. If no babalawo had spoken to the boys, they would not have gone ahead taking human lives. Nonetheless, no one will talk about them. No! They won't get called out. Traditional is good! Traditional is good!! This is it in the 21st century. If the issue reported here has had anything at all to do with any pastor, I know what we would have seen here. Even if it is just about a pastor collecting money. I know my preference between a so-called money-collector and a life-collector. Let us keep it up. We will end up somewhere one day. Just know that your favourite politicians will never encourage a criticism of babaláwos, since they are cronies, but pastors Those are the only problems of this nation. Nonsense. PS: I commiserate with the family of the deceased and hope justice is adequately served. |
CapitalBank:This your girl is almost the same with a female friend I just put my feet on the ground for. Everything you said up there is just true for this one too. |
slawormiir:You just hit the nail on the head like that. OMG! |
FIFA award any day any time. Determined by Coaches, players and fans. Unlike Balon d'Or whose winner is determined by just some set of journalists. Plus FIFA covers more footballing jurisdiction than Balon d'Or. |
lexy2014:It's obvious they don't value him |
This man did very well in his first stint as a caretaker manager. Five points against Chelsea, United and Arsenal means Everton lost to none of the three big clubs under him. I wonder why they will not just give him the job on a permanent basis. |
Those who know the kind of stunt Amosun pulled in Ogun state with this kind of thing during Buhari's first term will be cautious in believing those are really rice pyramids. Plenty sand bags covered with some bags of rice. The next few days will tell. If rice becomes cheap, then it is real. If not, it's another scam. |
Supporting politicians blindly. No ideology, no reasonable blueprint. People flocking after these folks just by sentiments, nothing else. smh. |
This is a very good read. |
Analog solution to every modern problem. Well done sir. No initiative, no creativity. |
See people talking that the governors will abuse state police as if the FG is not presently abusing the Federal policing system. Will state policing serve the people better than what we currently have? Emphatic yes. Is it likely to be abused by the governors? Yes, but even the present system is being raped and abused rapaciously by the FG. The abuse argument holds no water for me. In case you don't know the evil of this present policing system, go and watch the Magodo video with Sanwoolu yesterday. You can have officers deployed to your area by one drunken man in Abuja without you or your governor not being able to do a thing about. Plus the present system makes it difficult to prosecute corrupt officers. How do they cover corrupt officers now? They transfer them to another state. Case closed. That will not be possible with state police in place. State police has its flaws, but it is what is needed now. Argue against it since the Fulani herdsman menace did not touch you and your family. |
Forensib:It's real. Excerpts are also on BBC |
Well, start by talking about the initial plan, which was to go to his place for the new year celebration. However he responds to that should determine what you do next. If he doesn't want to follow the plan any more, then something's fishy about him. Make your stand known to him without mincing words. This is one of the nasty things I hate about relationship. People start taking you for granted and starts to violate protocols anyhow. |
Lol.
