PoliticsRe: MTN Nigeria To Reconstruct Enugu-Onitsha Expressway In Exchange For Tax Credit by Yadid(m): 5:57am On Aug 03, 2021
Most folks won't see the booby trap in this seemingly kind gesture from MTN. The project cost will be inflated leaving them with more tax credit beyond necessary. This is Nigeria. Tax credit my foot. More so, the job done might not even be of standard quality. As long as the road is constructed and money is spent, they are entitled to a tax credit. Good luck!

"Participants will be entitled to utilise the total cost (Project
Cost), incurred in the construction or refurbishment of an
eligible road as a tax credit against their future Companies
Income Tax (CIT) liability, until full cost recovery is achieved."

In saner climes, this kind of action is nothing but an act of war. The perpetrators would be hunted as first class enemies of the state, but this is Nigeria and the culprits are Fulani. What will they get? A thumbs up plus a pat in the back.

Just imagine one crazy American citizen shooting down an aircraft of the US Airforce, he would be toast by now.
Christianity EtcHow Far Does God Loves Us? by Yadid(op): 11:56am On Jul 30, 2021
How far does God loves us? Your answer to this question will largely be determined by what you have been feeding on: the unadulterated gospel of the Grace of God or the adulterated combination of law and Grace.
Just how far does God really loves us? Until our next mistakes or as long as we do good? Does He loves us just until the rules and regulations we are being badgered to follow after? Many of us believers find it quite difficult to believe that God can love us far beyond anything, including rules and regulations. He actually does. We are not loved until our next mistakes. Nope! God loves us just because He loves us. He does not love us for our good deeds and He does not detest us for our misdemeanours.
There is a temptation here though, one that many of us are tripping for no thanks to people who stand behind the pulpits dishing out a lethal mixture of Grace and law. The temptation is to believe that though God is love, He is also out to judge us. The Gospel is preached and taught like the Bible says that God is both love and judgment. God is love full stop. I John 4:8. He is no judgment. Jesus Christ is the perfect, full and only revelation of God and nowhere did He point to Himself as a judge or as judgment. Jesus means God is salvation. Matthew 1:21. The idea of saving people from their sins and judging them for the same sins at the same time is quite self-contradictory. He could not have been a Saviour and a Judge at the same time.
Legalists are quick to remind us of judgment each time we assay to believe in God's love for us. Their slogan is "God loves you, but He is out to get you if you ever sin." They make it look more like the love of God needs to be balanced with His judgment just as they erroneously believe that Grace needs to be balanced with the truth, forgetting that Grace is the truth and the truth is Grace.
This so-called balance is nothing but an adulteration of the gospel. A poisoned food is poisonous and CAN NEVER be safe for human consumption. A #10000 worth of loaf of bread laden with #50 worth of poison is as deadly as eating the poison alone. There is nothing like bread is greater than the poison, therefore the poison cannot be effective. Paul says a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Galatians 5:9. A little law added to Grace corrupts the whole thing. A little reminder of judgment added to a message of God's love for me and you will corrupt the whole message.
There is no middle ground between law and Grace. How far does God loves us then? Far beyond the things in this world and in the world to come; far beyond our sins and messes. Paul says NOTHING SHALL separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:38-39
[38]For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39]Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Wait right there, Paul did not use the word "WE" at the beginning of verse 38. No! He used the word "I", meaning that the persuasion about the love of God for us in Christ Jesus is a personal and peculiar affair for each believer.
Paul was personally persuaded that God loves us far beyond anything. There might have been others who were not so persuaded, but Paul was not waiting for an agreement with others before he could be persuaded.
Once more how far does God love us? Just until the death of Jesus Christ? That would be a half-truth, which is no truth. God loves us enough for Jesus to die for us, resurrect for us and ascend to heaven to ever live for us. If we stop at merely His death and resurrection, we miss out on a great deal.
Hebrews 7:25
[25]Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
He did not just die for us, He lives for us now as well. That is what makes Him our life. God does not love us until our next sin. God does not love us until we do not yield to the next prompting of the Holy Spirit. God loves us far beyond anything. God loves us as far as Christ Jesus and Jesus Christ is infinite, limitless and unquantifiable. Amen.
Beloved, be not deceived that God only loves you until your next imperfection. God is love, not judgment.
Christianity EtcEleekelo? (how Many Times?) by Yadid(op): 2:04pm On Jul 26, 2021
Elujoba A Femi
ELEEKELO (HOW MANY TIMES?)
I was boarded on a bus sometime ago when I witnessed a rather casual
but nonetheless instructive scenario between a guy I was on that bus with
and the conductor of the bus.
This guy was with a friend who was going to a different
for the second
guy to alight the bus, the conductor still demanded for his transport fare
from the him. In mild anger, the guy retorted and asked “eleekelo?” which
means “how many times?” in Yoruba. This guy was simply saying, since
my friend already paid for me, how many times are you going to collect
the fare? Does any merchant ever receive payment for a commodity sold
or service rendered twice?
Well, whether the conductor was dishonestly asking for a second payment
from this guy hoping that he had forgotten about the payment made for
him by his friend or whether the conductor had sincerely forgotten about
the fact that payment was already made for this guy, I do not know. But
in any case, immediately the guy brought it to the attention of the
conductor that a payment was already made for him and that he in fact
was well aware of It, the conductor quickly made a way for him to get
down from the bus and kept his mouth shut disturbing this guy no further.
This is sooo like the devil! Being a dishonest and evil being that he is, he
many times tries to demand “unjust payment” from believers for what
Christ already paid for on our behalf at Calvary. He takes advantage of
many believer’s ignorance of the fact that what they are needlessly
suffering in terms of sickness, poverty, depression, confusion, heart
troubles and what have you, have all been paid for once and for all by
Him. He bore the cost of these earthly sorrows (which are merely
consequences and payment for the sin nature), on His body when He
went to the cross. (Isaiah 53:4-5).
Every single one of these issues, no matter what they are, was carried by
Jesus and He consequently secured for us the opposite of them such as
divine health, prosperity, clarity, comfort, joy, peace and so on.
If the guy in our story had forgotten about the payment made for him by
his friend, or if his friend paid the fare but didn’t tell the guy about it, the
conductor would have succeeded in pulling a fast one on him. He would
have taken the second payment.
Unfortunately, this is what the devil does to many people too many times.
He simply takes an unjust second payment from them and makes them
continually suffer needlessly.
But when a believer, just like the guy in our story, becomes fully aware of
his right in that he does not have to pay anything to the devil anymore
since Christ already paid in full for his sins, he can boldly say to the devil
“eleekelo?”( for how many times?) whenever he dares brings such issues
to us. And just like the conductor behaved himself immediately and
stopped asking the guy for extra payment after the guy invoked his right
verbally, the devil will also flee and remove his hand from our matter
whenever we resist him this way (James 4:7)
That guy’s friend paid the cost of the transportation for his friend so that
his friend would not have to pay anything anymore the same way Christ
paid for our sin and all its consequences such as sickness (1 Peter 2:24),
poverty (2 Corinthians 8:9), depression (Romans 14:17) etc so that
anyone who knows and believes this truth will not have to pay again
forever.
We must violently insist on our right and absolutely refuse to give the
enemy any of our prize. Not even a tittle. The bible says He will flee from
us when we resist him this way. He prowls around like a lion looking for
whom (an ignorant believer) he may devour (i.e. “scam”) but we must
resist him steadfastly in faith! (1 Peter 5:8-9).
Refuse to suffer unjustly for anything. You have everything when you have
Christ. But you must always tenaciously demand for your right in faith,
standing on the finished works of Christ otherwise it won’t matter that
Christ paid for all. The devil will rob anyway.
Christianity EtcMessage Of Love by Yadid(op): 6:24am On Jun 25, 2021
Ever wonder why so many Christians are disillusioned and distracted? When the false god of religion fails to deliver on the false promises that religion makes, you will wander from the faith. You will wander because you’ve hitched your hope rope to an untrustworthy god who says he loves you but he’s also angry with you. He thinks you’re great, yet he scourges you with whips. It’s confusing, it’s muddled, and it’s wrong. We Christians ought to be a hope-filled people, but a mixed-up gospel has made us a wishful people. We ought to be strong in the faith, but religion has weakened us with disappointment. If you’ve been disillusioned and disenchanted, the good news is that God has hope for you – a good hope, the kind that lasts. Where is this hope found? In his grace. “God our Father has given us good hope by grace” (2 Th 2:16). Hope is a rope that links us to a truth not yet experienced. Your hope is only as good as the truth to which it is attached. This is why we need to rooted and established in the unconditional love of our Father. Don’t ask God to give you hope; ask him to reveal his love. He will! He has! To know his love is to know that your Father can be trusted. He has promised to take care of you, to watch over you, to supply all your needs, so expect good things from him. Love leads to hope which leads to faith.

Christianity EtcWhy Jesus Could Not Do Many Mighty Works In His Hometown. Mark 6 by Yadid(op): 2:46pm On Jun 18, 2021
Why Jesus could not do many mighty works in His hometown. Mark 6:1-6

Have you ever wondered that Jesus never failed to perform a miracle because the person concerned lacked faith or was doubting? Even in His hometown where He could not do many mighty works, there was no case of someone being taken to Him and Jesus was not able to deliver such a person. Jesus could not do many miracles in His hometown because they did not believe He was of God, so they did not go to Him for healing and co. That's what happened, not that they went to Him but Jesus was unable to do anything for them. No! They did not go to Him to meet their needs because they did not believe Him. The few that went to Him, He healed them all.
Mark 6:1-6
[1]And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
[2]And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
[3]Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
[4]But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
[5]And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
[6]And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
Doubt or no doubt, Jesus is ever able. The scripture says, even if we believe not, He abides faithful. (2 Timothy 2:13).
The situation is akin to a medical doctor walking into a village where the people mostly do not trust in western medicine and as such refused to go out with their ailments to see the doctor. We will say the doctor has very few patients in that area, will we not? We will, but is it a matter of the doctor being a quack? No! If we say the doctor only attended to few patients in that village, we will not mean that the doctor did not have the medical knowledge and ability to treat their ailments. It is solely a matter of the villagers not responding to the doctor because they lack trust in western medicine. This is the analogy of what happened in the hometown of Jesus Christ, not that He suddenly became unable and powerless because of their unbelief or that they went to Him and He could not heal them. The few that went to Him all received their healings. Unbelief or not. It is not our puny faith that empowers God. Belief or unbelief, God is faithful and powerful still. Amen!
Christianity EtcA Story Of Grace by Yadid(op): 2:26pm On Jun 18, 2021
A Story of Grace (Luke 15:11-32)
Perhaps no parable of Jesus Christ in the gospels better illustrate the grace and love of our Father than the parable of the lost son.
Luke 15:11-32
[11]And he said, A certain man had two sons:
[12]And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
[13]And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
[14]And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
[15]And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
[16]And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
[17]And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
[18]I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
[19]And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
[20]And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
[21]And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
[22]But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
[23]And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
[24]For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
[25]Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
[26]And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
[27]And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
[28]And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
[29]And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
[30]But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
[31]And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
[32]It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
The story is also a good response to the religious and legalistic position that a believer can lose his/her salvation or that salvation is temporal and not eternal.
The elder brother in that story symbolises the religious people and ministers of today who believe that the lost son (seemingly unrighteous people by their own self-righteous standard) can enjoy the good things and riches of the earth but will never have access into the Father's house (in this case heaven). These self-righteous ones are fond of saying many will end up in hell for embracing the Grace of God. They are utterly deluded. Just the same way the elder brother felt there was no way back home for his lost younger brother. As far as he was concerned, the Father's house belonged to him alone.
Contrary to the religious gibberish that salvation can be lost, there was no way the returning lost son could have missed the Father's house (heaven) while in the Father's embrace (a symbol of being in Christ Jesus). He could not have changed his mind to even go back because the Father ran all the way to him when he was yet a great way off from the Father's house. That is a picture of Jesus Christ coming for us right here on earth. We are accepted and loved while we are here on earth and there will be much more even in heaven. Just as the Father did not wait for the son to get into the house before showing him love. The Father's house in the story is a symbol of heaven. The party took place in the house. Jesus spoke of the joy in heaven over every repentant sinner. The Father's embrace and kisses happened on the way, a picture of every believer in Christ the beloved even though we are still on earth.
Beloved, beware of those who do not embrace the Grace of God. They do not just reject Him, they are also working so hard to make sure that others do not embrace Grace. They are peddlers of the ministry of death and condemnation behind so many pulpits. They are just like the elder brother of the lost son. Notice that the elder brother of the lost son refused to enter the house and he also did not want the Father to welcome the lost son into the house. Jesus already spoke of them in the scriptures.
Matthew 23:13
[13]But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
The scribes and Pharisees are renowned for propagating the law and rejecting Christ who is Grace. Notice that these folks did not just stay outside the kingdom of God, they were also preventing others from entering into that kingdom. Today we have their likes in many places amidst us in the church. They will not embrace the Grace of our God and they are also fighting tooth and nail to make sure that the flocks do not embrace Grace. They go to great length to discredit the Grace of God accusing Grace of promoting licentiousness (saying Grace is not a licence to sin) and saying many will end up in hell due to Grace. Beloved, beware of anyone (minister or believer) around you who do not embrace the Grace of God, he/she will also never want you to get Grace. Grace and the liberty thereof annoys them so much and they are always spying on those who stand in Grace in order to accuse, malign and condemn them. The same thing was done to Paul and companions. Galatians 2:4-5
[4]And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
[5]To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
Just as Paul and co, let us give no room for these religious spies in any way by subjecting ourselves to them. Beloved, let us stand fast in the liberty where Christ has made us free and let us not commit adultery by cheating on Jesus depending on our own self-efforts.
Galatians 5:1
[1]Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Right believing causes right living.

Kobojunkie:
1. Since Jesus Christ never in fact confirms, this during His encounter with the woman who suffered from an issue of blood, that the woman's sins were forgiven, are we to assume, by your claim, that her healing was a temporary one and not permanent healing? undecided

2. Jesus Christ never alluded to her sickness being tied to sin, so how and why do you conclude then that the reason she remained sick for 12 years, even after seeing so physicians all that time, is because of some sin she had yet been forgiven for ? undecided
Good questions sir! There are quite a number of scriptures that can be used to answer your question but I will refer to just one. Before I do so, I hope you took cognizance of one Greek word that I used in the text and gave its meaning. It is right there in the bible, not my own invention. "aiomai" was the word.
Now to the scripture, if you have read about the fall of man according to Genesis chapter 3 very well, you will discover that sicknesses and diseases are part of the aftermath of the sin of Adam. Sin and sickness go hand in hand. Until sin, there was no sickness. Isaiah 53 clearly spelt out all that Jesus Christ did for us in taking care of sin and by implication, sicknesses and diseases. (Now I've gone against my word of using just one scripture)

More so, with the paralyzed man taken to Jesus by his friends through the roof, Jesus talked about the forgiveness of his sins before declaring him healed. I don't remember his friends taking him to Jesus for forgiveness, but for healing.

Lastly, I do not think Jesus needed to engage in repetitions in order to drive His point home. He didn't have to expressly repeat the phrase "you are forgiven" to every Tom, Dick and Harry that He encountered.

P.S: You should try and read a post I made before this particular one sir. This one is a sequel to that one.

Christianity EtcWhere There Is No Forgiveness Of Sins, There Can Be No Healing. by Yadid(op): 7:25am On Jun 12, 2021
Where there is no forgiveness of sins, there can be no healing.

Beloved, many of us often wonder why we trust God for healing and it does not seem to be forthcoming. Many have wondered why people only get healed temporarily. That is, they get healed of a sickness only for the same sickness to return at a later date. Forgiveness and healing are inseparable. Where sins are not forgiven, there can be no healing. If there is healing at all, it will only be temporal. Let us take a cue from the story of the woman with the issue of blood.
Mark 5:25-34
[25]And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
[26]And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
[27]When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
[28]For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
[29]And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
[30]And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
[31]And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
[32]And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
[33]But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
[34]And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
The woman had been to many physicians for 12 years without getting any better. I should say that the root word for physician in our text is the Greek "aiomai" which means to make whole, to set free from errors and sin and to bring about salvation. There are many physicians in the world today in form of our medical personnel and health workers. In the church also, we have physicians in form of pastors (whether pointing you to Christ or to yourself).
One thing all the physicians who the woman went to lacked was the power to set her free from her errors and sins. That is, they lacked the power to forgive her sins. Only one has the power to forgive sins and His name is Jesus Christ. With those physicians she sought for twelve years, she found no healing because those physicians had no power to forgive her sins. Without the forgiveness of her sins, there can be no healing. When she encountered the One who has the power to forgive sins, she became healed on that very day.
Like I posited initially that in the church, the pastors are also physicians. Some will point us to our errors and sins while some will point us to the forgiveness that we have in Christ. Beloved, it is only when we are pointed to our forgiveness in Christ that we can walk in divine healing and health. Those other pastors (who are most in numbers in the church today) that points us to our sins are like those physicians that the woman with the issue of blood frequented for 12 years with nothing to show for it. These ministers will call for a healing line and when you do not receive healing they will tell you it is because you lack faith or do not have enough faith. Yet Romans 12:3 says that God has given to everyone of us "the measure of faith." Have you ever wondered that Jesus never failed to perform a miracle because the person concerned lacked faith or was doubting?
These ministers point you to your sins and not to the forgiveness of your sins and then accuse you of not believing to receive healing. Beloved, without the atmosphere of forgiveness, there can be no healing. Do not be surprised if you are battling with one ailment after the other when you fellowship in a place where Grace is not the gospel, but dos and don'ts. Sin-consciousness and sickness go hand in hand. The problem is not with you, the problem is with the ministers. They will never tell you that they are the reason you are not receiving, they will put the blame on you. If you put your bucket under a tap after opening it and no water drops into the bucket, will that still be your fault or will it be your bucket's fault? No! You will conclude that something is wrong with the tap or the pipe or there is no water in the tank. That is no fault of your bucket. Healing flows freely where Jesus is exalted and the forgiveness of sins is preached and taught. Healing does not flow where sins are called to remembrance and people are taught to focus on themselves (what they do or do not do). Forgiveness of sins and healing go hand in hand. To heal does not just mean to set free from sicknesses and diseases, it primarily means to set free from errors and sins. Where accusation and calling of sins to remembrance are the order of the day, sicknesses and diseases are proliferated. Stay under a ministry of righteousness and watch your health blossom. Stay under a ministry of condemnation and watch sicknesses and diseases take over your life with healing not forthcoming no matter the number of times hands are not laid on you.
Right believing always produce right living.
Christianity EtcWhat Does "By His Stripes We Were Healed" Mean? by Yadid(op): 7:13am On Jun 12, 2021
What does "by His stripes we were healed" mean?
There are at least two school of thoughts on the meaning of the phrase above. Some believe that being healed by His stripes speaks of our salvation alone, nothing to do with physical healing. Others believe that the phrase above is just about our physical healing without thinking salvation. What does being healed by His stripes really mean then? It means salvation and physical healing is part of that salvation.
In Mark 5 the woman with the issue of blood sought Jesus Christ.
This woman had been to many physicians for a solution to her ailment without any tangible result. Now the root word for "physician" in the text above is the Greek word "aiomai" which means to make whole, to free from errors and sin and to bring about one's salvation. Remember the woman had been to many physicians but they could not heal her. Why could they not? Based on the root word for physicians above, there is something only Jesus do that no physician can ever do. That is, forgiveness of sins or salvation from sins. Only Jesus Christ can free us from our errors and sins and He did.
When the woman received her healing, it was the same Greek word "aiomai" that was translated healed in verse 29 of our text.
There is one other thing common to both Jesus and the woman in our text. In verse 28, we have the woman
28]For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
And in verse 34 we have Jesus
34]And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
The word "whole" in verse 28 used by the woman and the first use of the same word in verse 34 by Jesus is one Greek word which is "sozo" meaning to save. So the woman saw salvation as also healing and Jesus Christ affirmed that salvation also means healing.
There is no salvation that is devoid of healing. They go hand in hand. Beloved, be no longer swayed on whether "by His stripes we were healed" means just salvation or just healing, it encompasses both salvation and healing. They are two sides of the same coin that are inseparable.

Thank you! So it has moved from discussing facts to attacking personality. There's no point in engaging in ad hominem with you. Lol! Thank God you were unable to prove that you did not distort biblical fact. I wonder what I should say about you for saying Paul was sent to Agabus. Enjoy sir!

God sent Paul to Agabus. We knew his story.

Thank you.
Haba! Distort biblical facts small small o. God sent Paul to Agabus? Really? Agabus was mentioned just twice in the whole bible in Acts 11:28 and he prophesied a famine, nothing to do with Paul at all. Second time Agabus was mentioned in bible was Acts 21:10-11 and he prophesied the persecution that awaited Paul in Jerusalem. Paul was never sent to Agabus as you mischievously claimed. In the two scriptures, it was Agabus that came around.

Paul was ordained by no man. The only thing close to an ordination he had was Ananias (a mere disciple) laying hands on him after the encounter on the road to Damascus. Check Acts 9 and then Galatians 1. Even when he went to Jerusalem to see Peter and James after three years, it was not for ordination.

Stop distorting the bible just to justify the traditions of men. There were more prophets in the bible not ordained by any man than those ordained by man. See Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Paul, Haggai, Silas, Barnabas, even James. Abraham was acknowledged as a prophet by God, yet he wasn't ordained of any man.

The fact that you don't have a girlfriend and you are still in your early 30s is the more reason you should not go into that slavery. If you see your youthful years as a room to settle for nonsense, then watch out for the years to come. I fear for your future.

That's the mistake many youths make and before they say Jack Robinson they are old and can no longer turn back the hand of time.

That job will take from you much more than it will give to you and those things will be irredeemable.

Take a cue from nature, you will never see a lion settle for grass just because meats are not yet available in the jungle.

If you are ready to settle for whatever comes your way in this life, then be ready to kiss want you really want in life goodbye.
Christianity EtcJesus Christ Our Living Hope by Yadid(op): 8:50am On May 25, 2021
Jesus Christ our Living Hope Beloved, let’s always be found speaking and looking forward to the plans that our Heavenly Father in Christ has for us, as it is written in His word in Jeremiah 29:11– “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Beloved, this is God’s plan for you and I who trust in Christ as our Righteousness and Strength and forsake silly efforts to save ourselves. His word is tested and true forever. Understand that Satan the Accuser is a lawyer. HaSatan is literally “prosecutor at law” in Hebrew. Prosecuting attorneys in Israel today are called HaSatan. Like any prosecutor, Satan can only bring charges against one. He cannot harm a hair on your head or put one in the prison of earthly ills and death on a whim. He has to go about ...seeking whom to devour. This is why Revelation 12:10 describes him thus— “Then I heard a strong (loud) voice in heaven, saying, Now it has come—the salvation and the power and the kingdom (the dominion, the reign) of our God, and the power (the sovereignty, the authority) of His Christ (the Messiah); for the accuser of our brethren, he who keeps bringing before our God charges against them day and night, has been cast out!” Pronouncing a verdict of “Guilty” or “Not guilty” can only be done by God the Righteous Judge. His Righteousness and Justice demand that every sin be punished to the uttermost. All have sinned. He cannot bend the law for anyone. Beloved, this warfare we are in is a legal battle and the battleground is the mind. No one can stand in anything that he does in this trial. David wrote in Psalm 143:2– “Do not take me to court for judgment, because there is no one alive who is righteous in your presence.” Because God so loved us and wants none to perish, He gave up His own Son for us to be made righteous and to have life in Him. And for all of us who know, believe and receive CHRIST ALONE as our Righteousness and Strength, this is God’s verdict over us— “Who then would dare to accuse those whom God has chosen in love to be His? God Himself is the Judge who has issued His final verdict over them—“Not guilty!”” Romans 8:33 And this FINAL verdict of ours from God Himself proceeds ONLY through the blood of Jesus— “And there is still much more to say of His unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in My sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God.” Romans 5:9. Like any prosecutor or lawyer, Satan’s work is to accuse/charge people with sins/ungodliness in order to get a guilty verdict so that condemnation and judgment can follow- the sentence of death preceded by life on “death- row” in prisons of sickness, lack, depression and all earthly ills with demonic oppressors as prison wardens. This is followed by physical death and the second death in hell. In order to achieve this, Satan promotes the teaching of righteousness by doing righteous deeds-- firing accusations of ungodliness at the flock through his pulpit- manning "pastor" agents, knowing that all have sinned and fall short of receiving a "Not guilty" verdict from God the Righteous Judge. Satan subtly goads the sinner into trying to be godly (be like God) by human effort at doing what the law commands — just as he did with Eve. He knows that the law condemns the best of those who have any kind of relationship with it— “Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.” Romans 3:20 The law condemns the best of those who try to keep even an atom of it to become anything before God. Only the condemned go to prison where they are subject to all sorts of oppression before physical death and the second death in hell. By God’s grace, let’s not fall for Satan’s con, beloved. Only by the obedience of Christ and absolutely nothing else are we made righteous— “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” Romans 5:19 Beloved, our warfare is a legal battle and the battleground is the mind where men analyze Satan’s fiery darts of charges/accusations aka strongholds, thoughts and imaginations that try to get us to accept guilt for sins that Jesus Christ our Advocate and Bearer of sins died to take away forever— 4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” 2 Corinthians 10. "Strongholds" above is not some iron gate guarded by horned creatures wielding pitchforks and wearing red underwear that do not want to release your blessings. It is translated from the Greek word “ochyroma” meaning— “of the arguments and reasonings by which a disputant endeavours to fortify his opinion and defend it against his opponent” For example, if one reasons that he is not that bad because he is not sinning anyhow and he does plenty good works so God should bless and save him from lack or whatever because he fasted and sowed seed, that is a stronghold/ reasoning that needs to be pulled down because only the obedience of Christ matters in this battle, not man’s obedience. Only through the blood of Jesus Christ are we declared righteous and acquitted. What are we bringing down? Strongholds What are we casting down? Arguments What are we bringing into captivity? Thoughts. And what about “every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God”? We see this in this life of Peter who thought he had superior knowledge to Christ His Maker on the issue of his then upcoming denials. We see this in everyday life: Christ says— “There is none good but God.” God gave Him up to be our Good. But even many pastors disagree with this knowledge of God by following the example of Satan — challenging God’s word by goading the flock into believing that they can be good (be like God) by trying to keep the law which kills and gives the knowledge of good and evil like the tree of the same name. See the forbidden fruit as a typology for the law which many are feeding on in order to be godly in Romans 7:8-12 (MSG.) The bringing down of all of these things - strongholds, thoughts, imaginations, “every high thing…” take place in the mind. This is where man’s "guilty" or "not guilty" verdict before God the Righteous Judge is determined...based on WHO and what we BELIEVE when Satan the Accuser throws charges/accusations of ungodliness at us (many times from behind church pulpits.) No one can stand in anything that he does by himself and tries to present God with in this trial. Not fasts. Not obedience. Not fifty years in the ministry. Not reading the Bible from cover to maps twenty times. Not seed. David wrote in Psalm 143:2– “Do not take me to court for judgment, because there is no one alive who is righteous in your presence.” There is only one Way to obliterate Satan’s charges against us and thus be free from the judgment of the law which includes oppression, lack, depression, rebellious kids and all of the curses in Deuteronomy 28 and which ends in death in hell. We bring all of these weapons of Satan into captivity to the obedience of Christ— our righteousness in Him— “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.” Romans 5:19 He is the only Way to overcome in our warfare- receiving AND confessing God’s gift of righteousness in Him when Satan comes knocking with his charges or accusations, often from religious platforms that point out your sins without pointing you to Christ as Saviour from those sins, as if man can do anything to save himself. Beloved, this is why Christ gave His life for you and I— “He gave His life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us His very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds." The one who thinks that he can achieve even a tittle of the above good which is Christ’s “job description” when Christ Himself says “There is none good but God,” that one has no place for the Saviour in his life. In reality, he deceives himself. Man of himself is flesh. Can flesh do anything by itself? Christ is the “Skeleton” and Life that keeps us alive and upright, believer. We ALL need Him to stand as much as the vilest offender who has never heard of Him. Take Him out of our life and we are nothing but a helpless mass of sins-ridden flesh of which the one who is standing is only being propped up by God's merciful Hand. This is why we cannot boast in what we did. Christ is our Boast. The one who thinks he is standing by himself is only enjoying God’s mercy in preventing Satan from sifting him like wheat, like Peter who thought that he was good and could never deny Christ. That kind of mindset of trust in self only opens the door for Satan to sift a person like wheat for the good that he claims to be when Christ says “There is none good but God.” Beloved, let he that is standing take heed lest he falls. Never trust yourself. Trust in Christ. In Christ, the Holy Spirit bears Witness to the truth that God the Righteous Judge does not remember our sins and lawless deeds— “But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”” Hebrews 10:15-17 Notice all the judicial terms in the Scriptures above? --- Righteous Judge. Advocate. Witness. Law. Trial. "Not guilty." Verdict. Charges. Guilty. Condemned. Judgment. HaSatan aka “prosecutor at law." Spiritual warfare is nothing if not a legal battle, beloved. There is no room for human effort at say obedience, fasting and sowing seed to become whatever before God mixed with "in Jesus" name in this battle. It is all of Christ and nothing at all-- "And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work." Romans 11:6 Only pure, unadulterated Grace gets one an acquittal. The guilty are condemned for their seemingly good but deathly and futile efforts at fasting and sowing seed plus "in Jesus name" in order to get the Righteous Judge to save them from the prison of say demonic oppression aka trying to keep the law in order to be justified/ declared righteous before the Righteous Judge and to escape wrath-- “Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.” Romans 3:20. The righteous by faith in Christ who have Him as our Advocate and Bearer of sins and do not depend on silly efforts to save ourselves get to receive an acquittal, escape wrath and enjoy God's gift of eternal life in Christ Jesus- "And there is still much more to say of His unfailing love for us! For through the blood of Jesus we have heard the powerful declaration, “You are now righteous in My sight.” And because of the sacrifice of Jesus, you will never experience the wrath of God." Romans 5:9. Only the blood of Jesus matters for the Righteous Judge to grant an acquittal. The one who is battling demons with works of the law such as fasts and seeds and obedience and wrapping up his prayers with “in Jesus name” as a footnote is already condemned and under the death sentence without even knowing it— see John 3:16–18: 16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” See The Message version: 16-18 “This is how much God loved the world: He gave His Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending His Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in Him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust Him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a- kind Son of God when introduced to Him.” To believe in Jesus is to believe God’s word in Romans 3– "26...for He himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus. 27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law." And Romans 4:25– “who was delivered up because of our offences, and was raised up because of our being declared righteous.” Romans 4:25. And so many more verses like these aka the foundation of our life in Christ: Righteousness by Faith. A gift of Grace which can neither be earned nor deserved. So beloved, by God’s grace stop fighting to defeat the devil or trying to be "clean" before asking of God with useless fasts, seeds and (self-) righteous works done to make the Righteous Judge think that you are trying your best to be clean. Just say thank you to the Lord for Jesus Christ whose finished work is SUFFICIENT and rest in His super-abounding grace that saves from sins. The world praises and promotes striving to produce good (be like God) to get God to bless when Christ says “There is none good but God.” But how can good come out of humanity/the flesh in which God's word says dwells no good thing? Thinking that one can be or produce an atom of good (be like God) by human striving is to challenge His Word and to reject/replace what CHRIST has done for our salvation for what MAN must do aka antichrist, translated from two Greek words— Anti— meaning “replace” or “in place of” and Christos—meaning Christ = Anointed The spirit of the antichrist is not necessarily anti-God. It simply one that tries to replace what Christ has done to make us righteous/godly and ETERNALLY SAVED with what MAN must do. It is often very religious and is always shouting about how bad sin is (e.g the religious but Christ-rejecting Pharisees.) But carriers of the spirit never point you to Christ as Saviour from sins. Rather they tell you to make yourself godly (be like God) by your human striving and via works of the law which gives the knowledge of what is good and what is evil, just as Satan did with Eve. They tell you to go come and break curse with 70 days fast when "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.." Galatians 3:13. They tell you to sow a mighty seed so that God will give you a job or jet in exchange aka that horrid "trade-by-barter" transaction. In reality, God's WRITTEN word says He gives us ALL things FREELY with Christ-- "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"Romans 8:32 You get the gist. What Christ has done for our salvation from sin and death, antichrists try to replace with works that man must do. And they are always preaching strongly against sins and shouting the need to be godly aka be like God. But with such, you must achieve godliness (be like God) by yourself. No Christ whom God in His love gave up to make us godly/righteous their equation. Isaiah 64:6 describes such obedience, fasts, seeds and whatever works which many wave about as credentials for righteousness and answered prayers that are really the result of God’s mercy thus— "We are all like one who is unclean, all our so- called righteous acts are like a menstrual rag in Your sight." So beloved of God, receive God’s abundance of Grace and His gift of Righteousness. He gives to all who come to Him FREELY. This is how we get to reign in life and through Christ alone— "And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and His gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one Man, Jesus Christ." Romans 5:16-17. Only the condemned go to prison. In Christ, there is therefore no condemnation for we who believe Him. Let’s take our blessed brains to church too — only people who have sins need the gift of no condemnation in Christ Jesus. If you can be righteous by yourself, you cannot receive it. But when your believing is right, right living will follow. So ask our Heavenly Father to open your eyes to see Grace as the extremely religious and Grace- persecuting Saul did, beloved (Ananias literally is “God’s Grace"- the first person that Paul saw when something like scales fell from his eyes.) As He did the undeserving prodigal son, our heavenly Father is eagerly waiting to run to you to enfold you in His embrace of True Grace— Christ Himself.

This is it. Gather yourself together. Relationship/marriage is not do or die. By saying you should be disinterested, I mean stop seeing the continuity of the relationship as if she's doing you the biggest favour in life. On the other hand, don't also see the ending of the relationship as the biggest loss in life. Have this attitude of whether it works hereafter or not, it is all in your favour. Show her this attitude and she will surely be rattled to be upfront with you. More so, being disinterested is essential for your well-being. Just be like a judge or an outsider trying to figure out what is going on really.

Look into the situation carefully and critically bro. For every negative doubt, give a benefit of positive doubt also. Most of the comments up there are condemning, not critical. There is no one size fits all advice or principle when it comes to relationships. Have it at the back of your mind that this is a peculiar case. In the spirit of fairness, consider humanity before gender stereotypes. You have taken quite a number of wrong steps already. An ideal man does not snoop or snitch. You have done both already.

Way forward? Be disinterested and you shall see everything clearly. I repeat, be disinterested. NOT UNINTERESTED. Once you are disinterested, she will give herself away. Females by nature cannot handle mystery. If you still don't get the gist I can explain further.

ProfChris10:
The major mistake many people are making is to think they can bribe their way into heaven by good conducts.

Am i saying good conducts is bad or not needed? Of course not. Scriptures makes us understand that even the good conducts of man is as a filthy rag. It falls short of the righteousness that God demands. So what then must be done?

First, the scripture concluded everyone under sin, and revealed man's desperate need for salvation.

The Bible teaches that sin existed in the soul of man before he was aware of it, and that the Law simply makes man conscious of sin which already dwells in him (Romans 7:7-14).

*Men are guilty first of all because of what they are "sinners" and only secondarily because of what they do "sin".

Galatians 2:21, KJV: "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain."

This was why Christ hath to come, otherwise the laws were there to keep. He needed not have come. Just obey all the laws and if you keep them perfectly then you are good to go. But then no man could.

For if any man offend in one law, he is guilty of all. Wow. What an unattainable position. Glory to God that Christ came.

This is the gospel delievered to the apostles that faith should be placed in Christ Jesus. Just as the serpent was lifted up in the wilderness that everyone who looked to it got saved from those snake bites, so is the son of man lifted up that everyone who looks to him is saved.

But No, many say that is not enough. How surprising it will be on that day for many whose trust is in their righteousness that could never attain to what God demands.

Paul laid to rest in Romans 10:2-4

2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Many people have established their own righteousness and have refused to submit to the righteousness of God.

Scriptures makes us understand that by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified (gal 2:16).

Summary: Salvation is an act of God. That is why Jesus is called the author and finisher of faith. God saw the sinner, choose him, bought him, justified him, renews him, keeps him and finally will glorify him. There is no loss of sequence. (Rom 8:30, Eph 1:13-14). What we do to get it is faith in the finished works of Christ. This faith can in turn produce a change of attitude and behaviour.

For the just shall live by faith.

Salvation comes first and then we are told to live our life as the new creature that we are, and not that we try to live to earn salvation.

We live right because of who we are and not necessarily fir what we are trying to be.
That was the summary of most of the epistles.

God bless you.
I love you sir/ma. Grace and peace unto you in Jesus name.

See the way people are goofing big time on this thread o. Do you know one thing about religion? It does not give room for change and it does not give room for questions. Traditions must be preserved at all cost, even if in error. For all those attacking @OP's message, many of them deep down in their hearts have questions but they are afraid. Religion has shackled them with fear, fear of hell, not the fear of God.

@OP you have written well, but maybe you should consider your audience the next time before talking about things like this. Most folks responding to your post do so with their own idea of salvation, not the salvation that the bible talks about. Imagine someone saying some people will go to hell for getting married while others will go to hell for not getting married. Just imagine that!

Ask people to say what salvation is and you will begin to hear them talk about what you do or do not do as if salvation is something they can earn by doing good.

Anyway, this is one of the reasons why the atheists think we are stupid. That you have an opinion on something does not mean that you know that thing. Let me resist the urge to mention names, but there are some here who are driving many to destruction by their message of SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS disguised as the gospel which is nothing but a perversion of the gospel of Christ. Albeit, the most important thing is for a man to receive the Lord Jesus Christ. Peace!

Before you assume you know, what is sin? What is Salvation? How does salvation come? Go and do a proper study of your bible. I'm not talking about that religious kind of study where most people and preachers turn Jesus upside down. One clue for you, go and understand Grace. Without the understanding of Grace, any attempt to answer the above questions and more questions about the bible will only result in error. Receive freedom from fear in Jesus name.

When reason fails, emotions take over. People berating each other over the child, yet none has come out clearly to say what child abuse really is. Well, it is not child abuse for the kid to have taken up a vocation at 6, but that child is very prone to abuse with that vocation. More specifically, psychological and emotional abuse. Let's be real, we all know how vocation centres in Nigeria are being run. Even adults get abused, not to talk of a kid of 6.

Did I hear some people say the child is going to make it because he's learning a vocation earlyhuh Lol. They must not know what they are talking about. Life is full of twists. That one is an early bloomer does not mean one will be a success in the final analysis. One can be a late bloomer and end up making it. They don't even know the child personally (his IQ and if he is even interested in that particular vocation or he's being forced to learn it) and they are concluding he's going to make it because he's learning something early. Quite hilarious.

Yet there is supposed to be just one database isn't it? No synergy, no cooperation. Yet all these agencies work for the same government. Shame!

So according to some Borno residents, the killed farmers by Boko haram are still same Boko Haram informants.

Does that mean Zulum paid N600k each to family of Boko Haram sympathizers?

Northerners have lied about the insecurities in their region to the extent thunderstorms is also confused...
More so, why will Boko Haram kill its own informants? That's tantamount to attacking itself. It makes no sense. If those killed are truly informants, how will Boko Haram expect to have more locals coming forward to be their informants by that action? This thing is common sense. Those residents lied!

If you are familiar with the evils of the Nigerian political terrain, you will agree with me that those residents that spoke have been bought to say so. The Lekki massacre is another example. It is defamation of the characters of those slain folks and they are no longer alive to defend themselves against the assertion. Makes the job very easy.
