How is this even possible? 3 solid countries stand between Lagos and Cote D'Ivoire. Can't they find other infrastructure to build?

It's actually possible... Not as if new roads will be constructed, it's just using the existing ones and upgrading where necessary

A country like Benin Republic already have standard well constructed highway leading all the way to Togo, so they don't need to construct again... Na we wey no get good roads gat begin construct

If the road passes through Badagry/Seme, then Nigeria has a lot of works to do...

The 50% fare reduction was removed to "cushion the effect of fuel subsidy by the federal government as well as the harsh economic situation of the country", question is, have the economic situation of the country gotten better or does government feel the initial aggression of the citizens due to the subsidy removal has doused and they've developed the backbone to bear the hardship?

Ayobo people will sell their kidneys to have Ambode back, even if for just one year... Do you know there's a part of Ayobo you pay to trek across the swampy area? (Going from Ayobo to Governor's road)

I don't reside in Lagos but many of my e-colleagues based in Lagos tell me of the hardship plying Lagos roads and traffic.
For Pete's sake these governors get elected to do roads et al as they also get paid salaries and fat allocations.

Wittyness.

I think this second tenure, Sanwo-Olu has no plans to do anything... As long as he is commissioning blue line, red line, purple line and green line, every other thing can get blown up for all he cares...

Unfortunately, roads are the worst affected... You'll see major state roads dividing into two as a result of gutter caving in, as if it's gully erosion in Anambra State

Funny thing is, Na for this bad portion of the road police and LASTMA go come out their checkpoints

Case study: A particular busstop after NYSC camp, (Fumilayo busstop), a contractor was awarded an adjoining road, he dug VERY BIG GUTTERS and left the road unattended to. Now, the very wide gutter has extended itself from that street into the express road

dominique:
It's absurd and ridiculous! People spending hundreds of thousands of naira didn't think it through at all. Is it not better to get a PGD in a university instead of converting your HND to BSc? I don't think unlilag offers a degree conversion program like, they offer postgraduate degrees in every course. That's what a lot of HND graduates opted for. That degree conversion is pure scam.

Problem here is, some schools don't accept HND for their postgraduate programmes... I stand to be corrected, but even in UNILAG, you can't go for PG in some courses with just HND... Hence the urge for conversion
Education / Re: "Converting HND To Degree Is Absurd" By Punch Editorial Board by Yampotatocarrot(m): 8:05pm On Oct 26, 2023
LeoDeKing:
Very absurd.

Entry requirements are different, so how do you convert from one to the other on completion of the programme?

Besides, the founding mandate of both level of studies are also different. Obviously, Polytechnics have lost sight of their mandate. How else can you explain courses in social sciences and humanities being offered in Polytechnics.

Polytechnic programme leads to award of OND or HND as the case may be while university courses lead to award of Bachelor Degree, so why changing from HND to Bachelor Degree after undergoing Polytechnic education? How does that even make sense?

Absolutely absurd.

Your second paragraph is where the MAIN ISSUE is... Polytechnics offer a lot of courses that in the right sense they shouldn't be offering... Funny thing is, it is those courses that have the highest number of enrolments... During my service year, a course like Mass communication, in Nasarawa state polytechnic had up to 500 students, both those that come to class and those that'll NEVER set foot in class till they get their certificate

Although, same can be said about some universities of technology, University of agriculture and University of education offering some courses just to get more students

Treadway:
inflation that has affected the cost of labour, building materials etc. As a rule of thumb, most people who put houses up for sale usu do so from a dire need of money. Cash is king and whomever has it has great leverage. Lands on the other hand are usu mostly sold out of convenience, meaning someone may want to sell a land and hold out for even two years until they get close to the kind of deal they want, but when people put houses up for sale (and I'm not talking about developers or the wealthy) they usually can't hold out for very long. A 3-bed house that is ten years old was likely built for less than 5m and the owner knows that. Whatever would befall the owner and he resorts to putting that house for sale, be rest assured he would be willing to sell close to the amount he spent building it, depending on the direness of his/her situation.

Long story short, most times when houses are put up for sale it is usu for dire financial reasons and so the person is not in a strong position to negotiate a great deal. The other party with money is, and compared to the cost of buying land and building from scratch at the prevailing costs and rates, buying has been shown to be far far cheaper, up to 50-100% cheaper depending on the specifics of the deal.

Damn, you are wise... I've noticed this but never understood it... Thanks for taking out time to explain

There are processes. The commissioner of police has no power to just remove him from the police force, but he can remove him from his position as DPO. He is undergoing orderly room trial, therefore he cannot be transferred to another place to act as DPO.

The result of the orderly room trial will be a punishment recommendation. It could be dismissal, it could be demotion, etc. Then the convening authority will accept or reject the recommendation.

It's after this process that he can be made to stand trial if necessary.

He has rights and the police must respect his rights and follow the process, otherwise he can sue them.

Now he has rights? What of those they extort?

I wish we can see trials that have followed this path you listed
