Sir, i didnt say KBC is not good for having 0.7kg in 3 weeks,i was only worried about the prize 2900(in relation with the said result).

Checked the weight for the first time yesterday which is 21 days (3 weeks) old! I see 0.7kg. According to the company production chart below, I should make even more (0.8kg) at 21 days!

0.7kg at 3 weeks is not that bad but definitely not a best result.

Looking at the prize 2900/25kg, i expects much more quality feed from them than the popular 'top feed'.

@op, perhaps you rushed her or you dont assure/ proved you still love her before you starts making moves? Next time, you will first play with her emotion without any physical sign. She will be the one begging you to touch her.

Hello sir, i once saw your post about 1240 capacity incubator. But what i know for sure is that it requires more than incubator to set up an hactery.

* Please i will appreciate if you expatiate on the total package of setting up the said 76, 1240, 2640 capacities respectively.

You can try any brand of 'Diclazurri'. Very effective, you can use ratio 1 to 1( for two days) if the condition is severy. Follow the instruction on the drug if it has never affected their well being.

Special thanks to Kevin96 as he's been helpful and instrumental to the restarting of my poultry and procurement of the miracle feed (KBC10) . Please advice accordingly as I have observed the following: red patches on pool and also dark brown pasty poop this morning in my 15 days old broilers. I've treated with kepcox for 48 hours which ended yesterday and I vaccinated them this morning with lasota. Attached is a picture of their poop! Thanks for your anticipated advice!

Yes, price may likely hit 200 or above especially during the first half of September, but will definitely come down after.

Maize 60% ( commercial concentrate please).

I can give you 98% assurance on Obasanjo and Ajanla farm DOC. Their birds are very strong, eat well and dont die anyhow.

as for stocking, there are two type of birds in the markets during Xmas, Economy birds and Rich man birds. Economy birds are the ones you sell between #1000-2500 while the rich man ones goes between #2500-5000. It now depends on which you really want to do. Rich man birds should be stock between August to mid-September. You can stock the economy birds as late as 2nd half of October.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. We prefer the Economy birds not only because of our large stocks nature but also the following;

* Cheaper DOC during this period.

* keeping birds for long time increase the chances of deceases outbreak.

* You sell them off very fast( looking at Nigeria economy, there are very few people that can afford/pay 3000-5000 for a bird.

The proccess is call 'brooding'. You give them heat during this period(first 3-5 days) during hot weather and (first 5-8 days) during cold weather.

Since you are selling them by Xmas, i dont think you should be worry about any market women. you can sell off all you birds by adopting a simple market strategy.

Getting more 'roosters' is by luck and there is little or nothing one can do about it.

Rain should not be a determinant factor as long as you've mastered the act of brooding. What you should put into consideration are the number of weeks you will like to raise them and the expected body weight. Besides, i dont know what you called 'cheap' because broiler's DOC was sold #150 few weeks ago at Obasanjo farm(this is not cheap to me). Price will definitely drop by mid October.

As for the feed, you can start with broilers starter( Top feed) and make use of concentrate and maize when they start taking finisher.

The major thing i've been thinking about is availability of ready market for poultry products especially Broilers meat within the city and other towns around. For instance, there are many processors, outlets and eateries one can easily sell to in Lagos and Ibadan.

Maybe i was wrong, can you please enlighten me about poultry markets in Oshogbo?

I'm presently into tomato farming. I also have a test (small space) cucumber am testing to see if i can get it right.
In the past (during my university days and before then), i have planted crops such as Plantain, Maize, Cassava, Potatoes, Sugarcane e.t.c.

The thing is just that i want to master Tomato farming very well for some years in order to perfect it before moving into another crop.

As regard acquiring land, i think it all depend on what you want to plant and the area you want it and and the type of ownership you want for the land.

In my area, you can rent land here as low as 2k per year if it its maize you want to plant but it can go up to like 3-5k or more if its tomato.

Land are also available for sale per acre and plot. To buy an acre here, you need to have like 200-400k depending on the location of the land.
