Memunah:im still asking if the demands of ASUP have been met? ASUP has a lot of problem with FG than even ASUU, i think i believe u guys; it's like they don't know how to table and present their issues to FG and get support from the public. i can't remember the last time i heard that ASUP members were on stike, it's only the ASUU members. |
sorry zebra for the delay, i'd post the solution as soon as possible. viewing the question, i could see that you can solve it using the taylor series or laurent. see ya soon,
please hlp me solve it, i need it urgently. tanx. |
Why is it that it is ASUU all the time that goes on strike, what about ASUP? don't they ever go on strike? or is it that government have met their own demands or what? |
@hcl_acid pls kindly solve this one too. make r the subject of P=a[1-(1+r)^-n]/r |
Pls does any one know the authenticity of Nigerian Institute of Industrial Statisticians (NIIS)? What do they do and what are they up to? I saw their site on the internet. I'm not convinced with what i saw on the site. What is Industrial statistics all about? |
Later these same soldiers will be drated to the creeks to go and kill innocent people, abi? Now they should learn from this point. Denying them of their entitlements will encourage them to aid oil bunkerers in oil bunkering business so that at the end of the day even if their entitlements are not paid to them they have gotten it already. shine your eyes our dear soldiers. |
@ibo Please try running this small one and tell me if it solves your assignment or research problem. I'm waiting to hear from you. |
i think the guy has never done fortran before, else to write a code for the above formular is as easy as writing a code to evaluate y = a+b. I will help him with a simple code. Try running this simple one Real t, y Write(*.*) "enter the value of t" Read(*.*) t y = 174.6*((t-1981.2)**3) Write(*.*) "The value of A","(",t,")","=",y Stop End |
What exactly do you want? is it a code in fortran to evaluate the formula?? |
The truth is that both HND and Bsc Technology/Engineering holders in nigeria have failed the nation. The so-called Engineers should come out with designs for the so-called Technologists to implement rather than fighting and querelling over who is superior and who is not important. At the moment we need both the engineers and technologists to make things work. Even Technicians and craftsmen are important too; try carrying out any engineering project without them and see if it will work out well. |
sofeo:honestly the government have failed us, and that is why both engineers and technologists can not recognize the role(s) they are to play in the society; instead engineer thinks he's a technologist and the technologist thinks he's an engineer. very funny. |
sofeo:you are coming home now. i thought some of you said that since uni graduates where taught by professors it makes them better than poly graduates who were not taught by professors? For your info poly and uni are two different schools, with 2 different purposes. We should only be comparing poly with poly, uni with uni and not poly with uni. the question we should be asking is if the engineers have lived up to expectation and if the technologist too have lived up to expectation, because at the moment nothing seems to be working well in nigeria, and we have engineers and technologists. |
sofeo:do a research to find out if those that graduated with hnd from poly and those that graduated from uni with bsc are equally good or not. infact your null hypothesis should be that the uni bsc graduates are better than the poly hnd graduates. tank u. |
sofeo:What makes you feel that way? Try and carry out a research and find out if at the end of the 4 or 5 years those taught by professors in universities become more intelligent and sound than those taught by probably Msc Degree holders in polytechnics. do that and get back to nairaland to prove your point. |
@ziki i think d topic should be Btech. VS Bsc. based on d course which i'm studying at Lagos City Polytechnic, Computer Science Btech is better dan Computer Science Bsc.
When did Lagos City Poly ikeja start running BTech?? Bsc will always be preferred to HND in Nigeria. Employers no longer ask for HND certificate, not that HND is inferior but because they feel it comes from polytechnic and not university. |
graduates of mathematical sciences (i.e. maths, statistics, computer science and operational research) is what the country needs together with economist and not mathematicians alone. |
I saw an advert for employment of academic lecturers in Kaduna polytechnic; but the job is for only holders of Bsc, Msc and PhD Degrees (university graduates). Holders of poly HND not included. Why is it that even the polytechnics themselves do not like employing their own graduates (HND holders) as academic staff? I thought they said polytechnic education was practical inclined and that HND holders are practically better than Bsc holders? So, why the preference for theoretical graduates against practical graduates in a school that is supposed to churn out practical graduates? Please contribute on this issue to enable me understand why it is like that. |
Muyiwageek:Get certified, u will definitely get a good job. Or go and teach computer or mathematics in a private school. |

@HND-holder Are you saying polytechnics will not be allowed to run BTech in ACCOUNTANCY and BUSINESS ADMIN?? But ATB University BAUCHI awards BTech in Accounting, so why won't polytechnics run BTech Accounting or Accountancy too? |
I pity the innocent ones that would be victims. Our NAF Alpha jets are already warming up to carry out live practical bombing of enemy targets, atleast for the first time. |
Someone should please call them to order; it is very wrong. It shows clearly that HND and Bsc are not equivalent. But i thought FG said HND and BSc should be at par in terms of employment and job progression?? |
Nigeria and Uk are 2 different countries. UK HND is the 1st 2 years of a 3 yr Degree program. Nigeria HND is 5 years like BTech and BEng programs. |
fataiiyo:It is not STATISTIAN but STATISTICIAN. Are you a yoruba man?? Anyway, Statisticians use computer for data tabulation, presentation, analysis and data storage. They also use computer programming knowledge to develop algorithms and programs for solving complex statistical problems. Most statistical problems cannot be solved without the use of a computer. |
@juicy1 Dats a good one for you too. |
@princekay1 What course did you read in the university??So all graduates of university of Lagos are excellent and all graduates of Iree polytechnic and Lagos city polytechnic are dull?? You must be a lunatic for reasoning that way. |
@juicy1 Good to know that you are a Statistician. But i always wonder how ladies cope doing mathematical courses. You must be good then. So presently where do you work?? I'm a Statistician too, but i work in the IT department of a bank as a sytems man, i only teach people mathematics, statistics and operations research courses as well as some programming languages and application packages like excel and SPSS. Statistics is really sweet. |
@hot chic If you know you cannot do STATISTICS and come out with a 2.1 then fashi it and go another course you feel you can get a 2.1. These days employers rely so much on grades and give people with 1st class and 2.1 edge over others. |
you don't know where to work?? Why then did you go for the course?? |
HND and Bsc are equivalent in Nigeria. Who can tell us the difference, if there is?? |
