Culture › Re: How Real Are Things Like 'Odeshí', 'Juju', 'Otumorkpor' In Nigeria/Africa? by zedman1(m): 8:08pm On Sep 05, 2020
fratermathy:
I am not saying that juju exists or it doesn't. I do not agree or disagree with whatever I have not truly seen in action. In all my years, I am yet to actually see a verifiable instance of such juju actually working. I only hear stories and anecdotes.

Since I cannot verify the efficacy of juju, I cannot say if it exists or not. However, if it does exist, why haven't we all seen objective proof of its existence, especially in this day and age when things can easily land on the internet?
This is me talking.

I don't see these things these days, perhaps it's because we were closer to the ground when we were young that was why we noticed their presence back then. We used to call it kurkutu.

Kingpele:
U don mean it, when I saw that Erica, i knew she will love money more than herself, I have met some like her before I got married, most of them pretty girls i met except my wife, was very unintelligent, love to party, drink alcohol and to stay out in the dark, always after money and worst of it all very ungrateful, they are one of the reasons I gave my life to Christ.. But this guy never jam them before, let him continue until they ruin him finically
Relationship stories are few and almost always the same. Most fine girls grow up to have very dirty characters and have great love for money and money alone. I said most, not all. If I had stuck with the idea of dating or eventually marrying a slay queen I probably would have been dead from high BP by now. It's the reason I married a 'normal' girl. But we men no de hear word, we like fine things.

Every sensible Nigerian should fight against this water resources Bill cos it's evil and doesn't seek to move the country forward!

Seems you guys have problem with comprehension. Read my very first line! How on earth am I in support of the bill? Since the topic is about water resources, it drew my mind towards the River Benue and the man you guys so much adore. Ever wonder why each time Ortom's name is being mentioned here, even if what he's saying sounds 'sweet' - yes it always does, you still find persons almost always from Benue attacking him? Any way, you wouldn't know because you aren't from Benue. I wonder how this country will ever move forward when Nigerians like one devil because they hate the other devil. Does it mean Benue people like being massacred by the Fulanis because each time Ortom talks about Fulani it p*isses us off? I don't expect you to understand the point I'm trying to make because you don't know a thing about the man, yes like Jon snow, you know nothing. Thank you.

Deepthoughts:
may be you stand to gain from the bill, if not the future implications of it would have made you to see much sense in what Ortom said irrespective of his past performance
May be you should read my very first line - " it shouldn't be so", maybe if you were from Benue then you'd understand why I wrote that. How does castigating a failure for not doing what he ought to do mean I'm endorsing the bill? No be must to argue bro.

It shouldn't be so... bet wait o, what has Ortom or any other Governor before him done with the River Benue? Other states would wish to have such a great resource and use it to do exploits for the state, but Benue? mba! Of all the governors we've had, this one talks too much- a very sweet talker, complains too much yet he is the worst in the history of the state.
Note;
By my very first statement 'It shouldn't be so', I mean I'm not in support of the bill, yet a few persons here seem not to understand. What is doing them? grin

For now, I fully understand why he kept mentioning 'Cold stone' as the cause of her death. At the moment he was writing that stuff he was not rational because of the pain he was going through. It's normal for people to blame anyone or anything for the demise of their loved ones. I won't blame him now, but as a rational being, I know Cold stone has nothing to do with her death. I believe he will realize this when he's done grieving. Sad one, may she rest in peace.

Modification: Apparently, according to the news, he said they should have just killed the guy without any further appeal. The man knows his people and he’s in agreement with their actions.
You're the first on the front page of this post to get the gist. People writing "even Shekau?" never completely read and understood the post, they just commented based on the headline of the post. Shekau still remains the devil he is.

I'm a music lover, well maybe I used to be before more than I am now. After that 'Holla at your boy' track I noticed it too. Wizkid has a great voice but
has very weak lyrics. I noticed most of his songs were made up of repeated lines/words, good beats then chorus( exempt for the great songs some other artists feature him) . I've said this many times, many years ago before this thread. He would make a great artist if he had song writers. Most great artists have song writers too, even artists like MJ, so no biggie..... Why do some guys bother us with unnessary comparison each time Wizkid or Davido is mentioned?

Sir, both were drunk. Rape is a two way thing, wouldn't one be right to say she raped him while he was drunk too?.... and for the record it didn't happen just once. It's obviously a case of a 'virtual' relationship that went south.

Wow...Guy.....You just nailed it ..100% right... exactly... Experience na really best teacher
Relationship stories aren't too many, so many relationships but just a few and the same stories. If you end up marrying such, she'd frustrate your life and at the end follow someone else who gives her more MONEY. If you don't end up together she'd leave you for someone else who has more MONEY. If that guy is an as*s*hole, she'd come back begging for you to accept her( this time she'd be worse, don't take her back). If the guy is a good guy, she'd marry him and make his life a living hell with endless demands or better still dump him for another guy who has more MONEY. THEY ARE ALMOST THE SAME, except if they change, which is highly unlikely.

My advice - Leave as soon as you can, they're a total waste of resources. You'd be amazed to realize there are amazing girls still in the world( like the one I finally got married to) Those broke I'd*iots won't let you see the good in any girl.

A sick and stale question that shouldn't even be asked. The problem with Nigerians is that they don't even know they have an entirely strange mentality from every other being in the world. Covid19 is real globally but a scam in Nigeria? Anyway we've started seeing the effects of the 'scam'. Abegi.
