I'm sorry you didn't know about the vaccine being mandatory but you won't be allowed into the US without your proof of FULL vaccination 2 WEEKS PRIOR.

Please don't forget your vaccination card with the QR code and ensure you check that your details are correctly inputted.

My date of birth was wrong however you can correct your data yourself by scanning the QR code on your vaccination card.

The bolded is partially true. But do take note there are some exceptions to this rule especially for Non B1/B2 visa holders from countries with limited COVID-19 vaccine availability (of which Nigeria is among).

Yes, the person can. But if approved, the passport will not be retained and the person will be told to comeback (usually Yellow slip would be given) at a later date to submit for visa issuance.

Or the passport would be collected by the consular officer and the applicant told to expect an email or text indicating when it would be ready for collection.

This is because Visa issuance has to be within 120 days of Program start date.

You’ll have to be patient to get a response. Depending on which location you intend to have your appointment, it could be a few days to a few weeks before you receive a decision.

Since you have deferred your admission, you should fill and submit a NEW DS-160. Then edit your profile on the CGI portal with the new DS-160 confirmation code.

Finally, print out a new Visa appointment confirmation page that’s having the new code.

Both DS-160 confirmation numbers would be on your visa appointment confirmation document as well.

I got that date for July 11 some months back when dates were popping up in Abuja. I have been rescheduled for August 3rd, which is not favorable for me cus my program start date is August 8th. Please any expert opinion on this?

Unfortunately, you may have to settle for that date or keep checking the CGI portal for an earlier date. You may be fortunate to secure an earlier appointment.

Going forward, applicants should try to take note of holiday dates on the ustraveldocs website before scheduling an appointment.

We aren’t required to pay that fee anymore. Just proceed to your chosen location for passport collection after visa issuance.

I as well don’t understand this section in the CGI portal. Who’s details would be in Principle Applicants name and Visa class assuming the person applying for the interview is the spouse of the F1 visa holder?

I’m getting confusing opinions about this and nothing online is shedding any valuable insight.

Some say it’s the F1 holders details, some say it’s the F2 applicants details (as it’s Principle not Principal as stated on DS-160) since the spouse is applying alone.

Anyone that applied for F2 separately and after the F1 holder should please clarify.

As at April 14th 2022 (and for the next 90 days), only those with B1 or B2 visas need to be fully vaccinated to travel to the US (from Nigeria). Take note, Nigeria can be removed from the list of exempted countries (limited COVID 19 vaccination coverage) anytime.

The tentative travel date that I selected when applying for EA was 1st of August 2022. And I uploaded the following document

But the request was denied.

Tho I was denied a Visa last year, so I deferred my admission to fall 2022.

You didn’t meet all the requirements for an emergency appointment. Most obvious is the 60-day criteria.

Do try to read the FAQs from that website as suggested in the mail you received.
