Nigeria lacks a virile witness protection system. The security architecture itself lacks integrity. Folks who gave evidence against escaped prisoners might be targeted.

We must keep at it until the people get it! Those who succeed at change management don’t talk much. They can be taciturn. They don’t give out much. Peter has been talking too much. Check the history books.

In other words, the idea whose time has come and continues to remain in your view is mediocrity and perpetual rotten leadership as we currently have? Wonderful!
Not quite. I meant to say that our society would appear not ready for the type of leadership he offers. The truth is that a people deserve the sort of leadership they have.
Politics › Re: Abimbola Adelakun: Don’t Blame Peter Obi For His Zealous Supporters by zoedew: 8:35am On Jul 07, 2022
Peter Obi is an idea whose time has not come.
1. Most of his foot soldiers don’t have PVC to vote IN 2023.
2. Most of his foot soldiers who have the PVC don’t have the time to vote.
3. All politics is local. His local environment is not supportive of his aspirations.
4. Worse still, the perception of the North of the South-East is not favourable to his person.
5. He is too loud about the paradigm shift he seeks to execute in the political leadership of Nigeria. Awolowo committed the same political and strategic. In these matters better strategy is to ensure that the opponent does not see you coming. That is very key in change management.

Illogical call. If you launch or permit another to launch missiles from your position in the direction of some other fellow it stands to reason for the fellow to remove you and stop the attacks even if it means an occupation of your space. Israel has shown exemplary restraint since 1948. A non-violent and peaceful Arab/Palestinian and ….. is a welcomed exception.

Do you actually believe that Nigeria will ever be better than Ghana by standard of living?
You should be looking at the size and the share of the market that is ready and willing to pay for the value you offer. Nigeria has a market and human and material resource base that is far bigger than Ghana’s. I believe Nigeria will get better. I am not inclined to make the comparison you seek because the factors involved rapidly shift in very short span of time.

For most folks like you, you do not value what you have until you lose it. Thank God for President Muhammadu Buhari. May God bless him and bless Nigeria.

That is why we do not take our successes in Lagos for granted. We Lagosians suffered more than the rest of the country prior to 1999 and it was that our resolve never to allow that kind of suffering happen again in our land that has kept us on our toes in Lagos since 1999 when the amazingly talented Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu took over the rein from Col. Buba Marwa.

Today, our economy in Lagos is bigger than the economy of the whole of Ghana. Amongst our many feats in Lagos is the Lekki deep seaport, conceived 13 years ago by Asiwaju Tinubu, that recieved its first cargo ship this week. This deep seaport is the first in Nigeria and the best in West Africa.
You can draw inspiration from our success story in Lagos wink

If you are suffering in Nigeria now, it is because you have been outcompeted. You probably waste your time online and on social media.

While you stay online and lament, other young focused ambitious Nigerians are competing for the same opportunities you seek.

Those eventual winners do not have time for nairaland and the social media. They do not even have time for pity or lamentation party.

That you do not know how terrible and worse the Ghaniaians case is alone says a lot about how conversant you are about their state yet very quick to disparage my Fatherland.

Ghana redenominated their old cedis in 2007 by knocking off four zeros and between then and now their new cedis has lost value by over ten times such that one new cedi is an equivalent of 100K old cedis or more!

Thankfully, my late President Yardua stopped Prof. Soludo from that dangerous experiment of redenominating the naira and today naira has not been redenominated. My N100K in 2017 is not today worth N1 or less. I thank God and late HE Yardua for stopping Soludo.

Ghana was one of the countries that the IMF and others cancelled their debts completely unlike Nigeria that had to pay about $18 billion during the Pa Obj era yet today, Ghana is back in so much debt even more than it was before her debts were forgiven.

Between 2020 and last year, it was so bad for Ghana that they ran out of forex and had to be bailed out by IMF with $1 billion and Ghana is not yet out of the woods. Last Ghana inflation number was approximately 50% and still not abating amidst high unemployment and scarcity of goods and foods.

Their Ghana stock exchange is nothing to write home about yet this year 2022 alone, our own Nigeria Stock exchange has broken and exceeded the record it last reached before the 2018 global meltdown, printing money for local investors and one of the best in the world so far https://nairametrics.com/2022/07/03/nigerian-stock-market-end-first-half-of-2022-as-one-of-the-best-in-the-world/

Thank God that CBN under Emefiele blocked the useless fraudulent cryto ponzi, the favorite 'food' of lazy and gullible Nigerian youths, may be by now the fraudsters behind crypto and nfts would have killed the naira and most of the "greater fool" liquidated 80K crypto millionaires would have come from Nigeria!

Ghana struggles to pay us for the energy we export to them and when we closed our border, Ghana was on her knees economically and politically while their effort at frustrating some of our nationals in Ghana also backfired.

Ghana has a bizarre and very primitive business system that forbids a foreigner from registering a business and owning a company in their small country unlike Nigeria where CAC is very liberal.
Watch how many of them will get to Nigeria now and start their own businesses yet we do not discriminate against them. Nigeria is a big brother to Ghana and we have always bailed them out.

Ghanaians are in soup but thank God they have a big brother and a second home in Nigeria. The original and current traditional landowners in their capital are ethnic Yoruba who migrated to Ghana from Ile Ife like a century ago and they have since traced back their origin to Ile Ife where Ooni assured them that they will always be welcomed back home.

So while the Yoruba in Nigeria are doing well there are things the descendants of Yoruba in Ghana are not doing well but can always rediscover and get back on their feet.

Nigeria is a safe haven for Ghanaians and Nigeria is far far ahead of Ghana.

Ghanaians are welcome in Nigeria. The last time they were here in droves n the ‘80s I had good, committed, self-driven and motivated teachers, University lecturers, drivers, shoeshiners, professionals and friends amongst them. They brought us their cuisines a la Kenke, Dokunnu, Foofoo with Groundnut soup! Nigerians have much more to learn from Ghanaians that we lack.

Lai Mohammed pushes a false narrative here.
Before the advent of ISWAP the killings and persecution of Christians in the North of Nigeria has been ongoing for decades now and largely unaddressed by the Federal and State Governments concerned.
Certificates of Occupancy for lands on which churches are located are revoked for no just cause.
Gideon Akaluka, a Christian who lived in Kano was beheaded for alleged blasphemy against Islam and Mohammed and his head paraded on the streets of Kano. Till date, nothing has been done about it. One could go on and on.
The internet has tons of hate speech and disturbing perceptions against Christians coming from Mohammed Buhari, Pantami, El Rufai et al. That was before the advent of ISWAP.
Lai Mohammed cannot, in all sincerity, deny or claim not to know that in Kwara State where he hails from Christians in the State Public Service face deprivation of promotions and appointments.

BABY MAMA ABANDONS BABY FOR COUPLE ON WEDDING DAY

A certain Mr. Solomon Etim Usanga of Ini LGA received the shock of his life on his wedding day as his estranged lover, Comfort Solomon stormed his wedding venue during offering and “offered” their love child to the father and walked away while the couple were holding offering basins to receive offerings for the church as is the practice in some denominations during wedding.

The wedding ceremony took place at Nkari village in Ini LGA and left the couple as well as attendees in awe.

Scripture is progressive yet Jesus Christ told you in Matthew 5 vs 15 - 17 that Heaven and Earth will pass away but not a jot of God's Word and Law will ever pass away - it is eternally unchanging? undecided

Rooted in the Bible or rooted in God's Word? Jesus Christ is the one written of in scripture as being God's Word, and as you can clearly see, your mogs claims aren't rooted in God's Word and Truth. undecided
For me this is not about an individual as it is about scripture. Jesus meant that scripture will be relevant for all time. I should think am done engaging with you on this matter.

Scripture was written by human hands in human language, translated from one human language to another, to be comprehended using basic human language comprehension skills available to all humans. The same human language comprehension skills you use in processing regular text is the very same skills you would use in comprehending that which is clearly expressed in scripture, unless ofcourse you are one of the many liars and conmen aka wolves in sheep's clothing out there. undecided

Jesus Christ said in His Kingdom, He alone is the focus for each and everyone of His followers. He alone is Teacher, Master/Head, Authority/Leader, Shepherd, Guide, Helper etc., - Matthew 23 vs 8 - 10 & Matthew 6 vs 24 & Matthew 20 vs 24 - 28 & John 10 vs 1 - 16 & john 14 vs 20 - 25 ....
2 Peter 1:20 seeks your attention. Scripture is progressive revelation. Rom 14:5-12 says for every man to be fully persuaded so long as what he believes is rooted in the Bible.

I agree you could see things differently since no scripture is of any private interpretation. Let’s just focus on Jesus.

When the Jews were attacking Christians and killing them I wonder why the Christians didn't band together to defend themselves. I wonder what "our weapons of warfare are not carnal...) means. People always prefer listening to "men of God" than to God Himself.

Case closed!

There's no reason arguing about what the man is saying if he has said the highlighted first. The Beroeans heard what was preached to them but went back to check it out in the scriptures to be certain of what is being preached to them. Act 17:11

When Jesus of Nazareth said what was recorded in the Bible book of Matthew 5:43-48 he later expatiate further by making his listeners to know why someone may be mounting pressure on you. First of all Satan has filled the minds of majority with thoughts of dominance {Genesis 3:5} everyone wants to dominate his/her fellowman {Ecclesiastes 8:9} but Jesus made it clear to his own disciples that instead of being rulers they should always strive to be subjects {Luke 14:7-11} that's why Jesus' disciples never attempt becoming part of those ruling over others rather they were the lowliest of all men in the first century!

Of course if a man or two men should come to attack your home and you discover that such an attack is not sponsored by politicians then you can find a way to protect yourself and your family, but when it has to do with some people sponsoring such an attack then you have to know the demands of those sending them perhaps it could be met for peaceful coexistence. In all cases organized and planned attacks is the handiwork of politicians who wants to rule over you. So thinking of defense makes no sense because those sending them will continue to send them unless those ruling over your territory maintained their domain by driving away the ones who have come to take over power. Christians are neither on this side or that side when it comes to world politics {John 17:14 compare to John 18:36} Jesus taught his own disciples to pray and look intently at God's Kingdom! Matthew 6:9-10

Today politicians are using different means to seize power from one another and they're using gullible people as fighters to achieve their goal, of course they need to brainwash those fighting for them because nobody will like to be killed for another person to continue living like kings and queens so the brainwashing is necessary. False religion is the strongest tool to brainwash people into becoming zombies who will die for others to rule that's why this killings is attached to religion but the truth is that politicians are behind what is happening in Nigeria.

Now back to what the Baba said. He is not a Christian because Jesus taught his own followers never to acquire material possessions that could hinder them from running away when politicians begin struggling for dominance {Matthew 6:19-28} so if you've acquired so much wealth in this system of things it will be difficult for you to pick few things and flee just as Jesus commanded his own disciples to do whenever politicians are battling for power! Luke 21:20-24

If a Christian can't fight for dominance {Matthew 26:52} and we must not partake in world politics {John 17:14} then we can't accumulate wealth like all other men {Matthew 6:24} otherwise we will ignore Jesus' command and love to keep those material possessions {Matthew 6:24} which has nothing to do with our salvation! Luke 18:18-23
Reading you one must wonder who owns the device with which you are communicating with www. It is a “worldly possession” for sure!
