It does not matter whether he acted on the original order or he modified it as he just did, chrisitians would still wail.

And you are wrong that the modification carries any undertone. Christians just like to carry the tag of "persecuted" when ever they can grab it. When the Boko Haram insurgency started, they also claimed it was targeted at them and yet the biggest recorded attack by the group is on a Mosque with a twin explosion.
