Cost of living in both countries depend on what state and city you live in. In USA, i can show you a cheap microwave meal with corn, meat , rice or pasta or potatoes and sauce. You can get it for 200 naira or maybe 250 naira at most. Water is free and available at many public water drinking fountains. Its a very basic meal and not so big, but it will manage hunger and be more hygenic than a nigerian Buka. People also eat the packet noodles in USA just like in Nigeria. SO its true many americans learn to eat with 100 naira a meal. They do it with two noodle packs and boiled egg added. Same can be done with other cheap pasta options. Housing can be as low as $200 a month for a full apartment outside of the city and in a more rural american state. Some people pay $100 rent for a basic place in USA in small towns that nobody cares to live thus renters are scarce for landlords. Riding public transportation can be cheap if one buys a monthly pass. Some states are a cheap as 280Naira a day on monthly pass for unlimited ride in air-conditioned modern luxury style buses. Big cities with Train and bus service, monthly pass cost around 780Naira a day for unlimited rides on airconditined luxury style trains and buses throughout the city. In the cheapest states in America, its possible to survive on $500 a month in the most basic provisions. Nigeria is very overpriced when you factor in the standard of quality in the general surroundings. $500 or 100k naira a month in a small town USA will still get you clean water hot and cold flowing 24 hours every day. Electricity 24 hours. Good roads. Complete rubbish collection and considerable street cleaning. Well ordered and controlled environment with ease of movement and plenty open space for fresh air. Medical efficiency that keeps much less mortality rate than we find anywhere in Africa. Yes even the mad man in the USA streets will get benefit of good medical help when emergency comes. And no ,his body wont lay in the streets for hours or days before a high quality equipped crew comes to pick the body up for proper care. Nigeria is the overpriced place especially when you consider the low salary of average workers who labor to provide and serve its overpriced products. The jobs that pay 100k naira monthly and above in Nigeria, are not as readily available as people say. 100k naira a month in USA is less than poverty wage and still surviveable in the lesser cities and states of the america. You have to try very hard in USA to be lazy enough to see only $500 a month. It is the bottom of the bottom income and can be earned workng just 12 days out of each month and sleeping the reamianing 18 days. Plus the government will give you up to a $200 food allowance to make life even easier. No matter how poor you are in USA, there is no true slum allowed to exist there. If they do, it is because they are hidden, very small and created mostly by people who devote their lives to drugs and alcohol. There are vagrant people with no jobs or homes who live on the streets, who can bring in 500k naira monthly(not by work, but by begging and shady means). Yet they remain dirty, homeless and peniless at the end of each day, week and month. They spend all of their income immediately on drugs, alchohol and mindless squander. These things happen in big cities in USA where lots of people live and a beggar can get hundreds of contributions in just 8 hours. Also the beggars can get free food and other charity from charity organizations and even cash allowance for hardship, from the government. They may live and sleep on the streets, but it will be a clean, paved, well lit and designed street. Nigeria is overpriced. There is no such thing as a fair price in a country that resists offering any set or standard price. Charge whatever you like and let haggling settle the end result. Inflation will always be out of hand in countries like this as their currency stays in perpetual free fall towards a cesspool of overpriced squalor. You get what you pay for, except in Nigeria where you pay and get what you get if anything at all. You can even work hard for months and not see any salary from the very government which is the face and image of the country Nigeria. But.. There are still many good humble people in nigeria who carry hope for the whole country and keep it from sinking into hell proper. I have said enough. |

There is no need for the thing to be running when the load is taken off of it. Just shut the thing down and run it only when you have load to put on it. Otherwise just look to sell it or trade it to get something you are comfortable with. Fake Firmans are a thing i heard about. |

Take your $3000 camera and take photos of the homeless dissheveled vagrants of the streets of USA and send to them on face book and tell them to wake up to the reality of life there. Send them the price breakdown of foods and transport and cost of living and how its not even allowed in USA to live in a shanty slum after yousent all your last $ to them. When you send your last $ to them, you will be taken to prison for gross vagrancy and begging in the streets. Then they will see and maybe still they will not care. |

The real world is the world the average person can afford. When you show me place my money no fit reach, its like showing a sinner, pictures of heaven wey e no fit reach in this lifetime or the next. The nice places shown are built with the public funds chopped from the allocations to manage the refuse problems and bad roads of the average person areas. High traffic areas, market areas, the workng man's domain that keeps the city alive and well stocked with sustenance. Those nice places just suck the life out of other places to make themselves quietly and exclusively exquisite.

ohk9ner:t back Thank you much, but it is ok now, they called me today after i sent an e-mail to them some days ago. They were delaying my visa because my travel dates were so far off and they wanted to be sure i did not get my visa so early that it would expire before i travelled.. The consulate called today and assured me they will process it now and stop the hold. I let them know my actual travel date is not so far off. I put a far off travel date on my original application but booked a different itinary date to send with my application. All is good and they called me and spoke kindly and assured me they will process it now. Maybe by end of next week i will see it in the mail. I was anxious because I will be travelling elsewhere before i ever reach Nigeria, and so wanted my passport back so soon to carry go with me to other destinations. Off to Newyork in a few days and see my way beyond newyork from there and eventually to Nigeria proper in time to chop christams goat.. My yellow card is good now after injection, also menegitis and typhoid vaccines. Chai! I never thought antimalarials were so expensive but i got a few months supply for free from my medical coverage here in the US. One day i go reach nigeria proper. ![]() |
I beg sir, what are the price ranges of anti malarials and malaria treatments? I like the antibiotic one Doxycycline because it has broader protection beyond just malaria. What price range is it in Nigeria? I was not feelng well tonight but have began to recover. I ate excess and a mix of new things that did not combine well or source from good places. |
Coconut oil is good to stop decay and heal over the affected areas. It can help in a small way also to do some whitening. Mostly it helps with the decay such as cavities. Coconut oil may be hard to come by but you can make a daily habit of eating coconut whites. Not just ordinary eating, but to chew it and keep it in your mouth working around your teeth for 20 minutes every day or twice a day if it is just the coconut white.. The oil is ok for once a day. Do coconut daily for 5 months. Chew the whites for 20 minutes twice daily, just a mouthful twice a day. It will stop decay and even heal over the eroded surfaces of teeth. It also helps control mouth bacteria and viruses as well as other bacteria and viruses in the body. The one you chew for 20 minutes should be spit out as it absorbs infectious materials and needs to be cast out. Take another mouthful after the first and eat that one put for bele, it will help your body in other ways. I do coconut oil daily and it made my teeth a bit whiter but mostly it resurfaced the eroded surfaces of my teeth and controls mouth bacteria and odors. It also heals wounds well alng with keeping down viruses and bacteria.. |

I did go through the web site and it was not VFS global listed there. It was innovate global that i went through.. Maybe you are mistaken about me looking for a visa to leave Nigeria.. No, i am trying to get a visa to enter Nigeria. Trying to get a visa from Nigeria embassy/Consulate abroad so i can travel to Nigeria. At least Nigeria claims it is a system of reciprocity where it will be as easy to get a visa to visit Nigeria as it is for a nigerian to get a visa to visit their country. Nigeria seems to reciprocates the same lack of reply of emails and delay of visa issue and so on. |

Wow, i sent my Canada passport to Nigeria consulate for visa, with payment in full and documents for my application and payment, bank statements, invitation letter and everything on the list. It is one month ago now since i sent it with 3 day priority mail and included paid postage return express postage. The details said to wait 7-10 business days which would be about 3 weeks for me because of holidays and weekends. Its only over a week overdue and i dont need the visa this month. Will i ever see my passport again? Did they chop my money and passport? or are they waiting for something i am not aware of? I can wait ,but i have to travel other places before Nigeria, i cant stay waiting without my passport like i have nowhere else to be going. Why do they say 7-10 days if they cannot? The visa query contact is a call for profit number at $2.50 a minute and they haven't replied any emails. Maybe the NG secret police are punishing me for all the bad bele i talked here on Nairaland past? |
No.. Africa has just started to take development seriously right when the Originators of this development model such as in europe and USA, are faced with looming environmental crisis. People survived as bush men for thousands of years, but development has done in just 100 years so much damage that there is no way this kind of development can sustain itself and have people survive. More people die per year in China due to development toxicity than people died in the days before development and modern advancements. USA is also seeing rise in Modern development toxicity related deaths. So much of the land and water is destroyed. See Nigerias roads so full of vehichles and commercial trucks. The kinds of deaths happening on these modern Nigerian roads with modern vehicles, are more horrific than being a bush man attacked and eaten by lions. When Development goes too far and people realize the mistake, there will be no nature to turn back to for salvation. Wake up and see the light, dont be decieved by the idea that "development" as it is served up, is salvation. Be Careful what you ask for, you just may get it |
Its a classic african python. It may be the rock python or reticulated python. Its among the most agressive pythons out there. Anacondas are known as water snakes, but all large constrictors are water adapted especially when they get as large as this one. The biggest ones spend more time in the water because it helps to ease their own weight as well as make an easy abush for catching their prey coming to the water to drink or swim. It is definitely a python just by the patterns on the head. |

Don't go to Venezuela unless you have plenty money to waste and use to escape after the place consumes you. Venezuela is one of the most expensive countries in the world and NOT because they are among the richest. It is because of their economy. If you thought scarcity was a thing in nigeria to make you look elsewhere, then Venezuela scarcity will send you looking elsewhere also. It is very expensive for foriegners and finding jobs to make good money is harder even for the many citizens. The only way they manage is because of their socialista gvernement that provides free welfare for the many poor citizens there. They get anything from free housing and school and medical and maybe more, but they dont have much money or many opportunities to get rich or live better than a deprived people. I am not sure you will be covered for free welfare there if you are not a citizen. When the government gives people what they need for free, the govt. can dictate how much people get, and if there is scarcity, then people go without. Venezuela has lots of issues including violence. That country is even too expensive for the average european or american to stay in unless they are being sent for employment and taken care of by the company. Dont go if you dont have lots of money or good employment lined up. The kind of money you need for a chance in venezuela is enough to make it well in Nigeria or other countries that are easy to enter. |
Its a strategy to tackle the problems of over population, i think ![]() There is more danger with the rate of men and women coupling and having babies and pushing every boundry of the earth with population, so many people that they are mashed like rodents on the roads in auto accidents. So many people that communicable diseases spread easily and quickly. Land, water and other resources grow more scarce by the day, even the air is not so breathable anymore. What is my business with what people do in their private quarters when they are not bringing out herds of children to push the population to overage levels and making it easier to suffer in future generations.. There are bigger issues and risks facing all of humanity and they have nothing to do with who is doing who.. |
bolaomega:Ah yes, you have problems with the car. The fuel is burning much to compensate for air and throttle bad data. The mass air flow can be affected by the lack of CC, but the coolant temperature sensor should be changed, and the throttle sensor should be changed as well to see if that restores the Idling. The shaking may be related to the throttle sensor, but if you never did a major tune up, do that along with replacing the sensors. I would make CC the last item (and single most expensive) on the list if all else fails.. Good luck.. Mercedes is a good car to sacrifice money into, it will always give you back what you put into it. I myself just bought an old toyota sienna ,drives good but needs a lot of work. So i redid all the brakes and front rotors, serviced all fluids and oils, got the code reading to find check engine light issue. It is the O2 sensor temperature monitor. So the sensor works but the temperature momitor on it is failing.. It drives ok like that but i will just keep an eye on it for the next round of spending i do for the vehicle.. Transmission problems as well but not affecting the smooth drive, just an abnormal bump in it if i rush into reverse.. I am not afraid of the problems because i bought it cheap with money left over to service the thing back to top shape. Its a Toyota and will always give back what you out into it, just like Mercedes.. I use it for rugged projects anyway so i rather an old car than to thrash a new one with rugged work. I spent over $1500 to repair and make it a safe ride, full timing assembly replacement, all brakes, flush all fluids and oils, and full AC service. Next year i will focus on the transmission and O2 sensor if they show sign of degrading further. Its a part time car only used when i am in town working, then i travel out of the state and country for the other half of the year without the car, riding bus instead.. Soon i will park it for 6-8 months in the garage while I travel the world and country by air and city bus or taxi. |
You go to the nearest police office and ask to apply for the permit. Thats the only way. Once you enter and ask, you are subject to their scrutiny, suspicions, accusations and extortion.. There was a stop put on issuing new fire arms permits in Nigeria back in 2013 or so. Maybe a cool way to inquire at the police station is to just ask if there is still a stop put on the issuance of any new fire arms licenses.. See the link below on a report about the ban on new firearm licenses.. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/140419-nigeria-police-rules-out-new-firearms-licence-to-anyone.html |
bolaomega:If you have been driving your car without the CC already for some time, then just expect the same driving to continue without the CC. O2 sensor is important for engine performance control. The CC being removed can affect exhaust flow and cause the various mass air flow sensors to send altered signals to the cars engine management computer. That can affect performance, but if you have been driving before like that, then continue if you like. You may never notice the altered performance of the vehicle anyway if you never tried comparing it with the CC installed. Maybe the computer adjusts and settles the altered reading matter automatically, or maybe not. If it drives well enough for you with a good O2 sensor and does not seem like it is struggling, then continue. If your car is 4 cylinder, that may be the reason you see only one. All the multiple sensor cars i see, they have 6 cylinders or more. More air mass requires more sensors, but also sometimes cyclinders may malfunction on one side and that will alter the exhaust flow for one manifold side only..Another reason they put one sensor on each side. Also rear and front sensors can help to sense if major leaks occur between the manifold and CC. Try without the CC if you have not already tried. If it does not agree with you, then you know you have more work to do ahead. Sometimes a problem is not what it looks like. It can possibly prove to be an issue not related to any of the above. My sister just took her car to mechanic after issues i was trying to diagnose. I diagnosed it as a wire short electrical problem making dead starting.. She took to the mechanic and he said tune up.. I doubted the professional mechanic and insisted a wire short. The mechanic did the tune up and it stopped the car from vibrating but did not fix the dead starting issue. I isolated the battery for test and the battery was good. Finally i started inspecting, touching and shaking various wires to see which would prove to be loose or cause the car to start normally. We found one at the fuse box and diagnostic plug terminal. The terminal is loose and shaking and when it is shaken, it causes the car to give dead starts or live starts depending on the pull and twist we do to it. Now we know where the problem is and how to shake the wire terminal to get the car to respond. The professinal mechanic was not able to discover that. But also another person was having shaking engine and i suggested tune up or timing system work to eliminate any misfire. That worked to fix my sisters shaking engine, but it was not the same solution for the other man's car with the same problem. My educated suggestion was wrong in that case. Just follow trial and elimination until you eventually discover. You will only result with better knowledge of your machine and detailed inspection of your car's various systems for confidence in their good working order. Do your O2 sensor first and try it. If not satisfied, try and get a computer diagnostic reading before deciding to redo the CC. |

mufutau55:USA.. All my generators are in Hawaii and i have since fled that place as of November 2013.. I got a new place in another state in USA where there is regular metered electricity, so no genrator here.. I only bought new Honda grass cutting equipment for my new house here.. My neighbours by my place in hawaii are keeping my generator there. I think they use it for washing machine and then they use a smaller one for their solar backup.. My house there is abandoned to the bush and the neighbors keep my valuables.. If i get a generator for Nigeria, it will be a Honda EU2000. But for now i have started a solar power kit for Nigeria.. If i visit and the place proves to draw me there regularly, then i will get a honda generator to back up the solar kit.. Also by now, i have over ten years experience with honda and know how to do all of the basic servicing by myself.. My neighbor in hawaii worked as a mechanic for the local Honda equipment dealer and taught me a lot when servicing mine.. He also did solar installations and taught me that as well when servicing mine.. Honda is easy to self service because nothing major goes wrong for a very long time. Just change the oil and air filter as ordered, keep an eye on the spark plug and clean the spark arrestor if your model comes with one.. The carburator usually goes bad before the engine and we just service the carburator or get a new one for very cheap after 4 to 5 years of daily use. Honda is more expensive but cheaper in the long term over 10 years.. Some people can buy a new cheap generator every year or two, and constantly spend to repair it, that will add up to more than the cost of one honda generator used and serviced for ten years... Honda |
Honda, i have used 4 different honda generators..They last well for a decade with proper maintainance and shelter from the elements. 2.5Kv is easy for Hondas.. I used the EG3000 for 2.5Kv and i have now a EU3000i for 2.5Kv ,quiet running eco throttle by honda as well.. The EU is more expensive but lasting longer and fuel saving is excellent.. I used a small EU1000i before but had to surrender it at the airport because it smelled like fuel and they forbid it on the flight.. I also had a Big Quiet honda 4500 heavy duty outdoors grade.. I traded that for a peice of Honda grass trimmer. I just bought a new Honda grass mower also. I am honda all the way for small engine equipment.. but i drive a toyota car ..The Honda EG3000 lasted me 4 years using around 8hours a day every day and even used with some exposure to rain and such.. The thing was abused and still gave me faithful service for 4 years.. The Honda EU3000 gave me 5 years service doing 12 hours a day and even a few months of 20 hours a day.. Then the engine and carburator was rebuilt and it has gone right back into service but i travel much so it sees very little use now by my neighbours. Those things can reach 20 years with lite useage of 4 hours a day or less.. HONDA ![]() |
Bifwoli:Ah yes, i hear the word "nigger" quite often here and see filthy disheveled ignorance walking in full racist pride every day... So many smokers, drug addicts and abusive people are also here.. People who cant find anything better to do than hate others while self destructing themselves... Plenty good people here though, but not without habing to brush up against plenty of the aforementioned... Just dey pray for me, make i reach Mauritius soon to rise out of this place i am.. ![]() |
See a photo of where i live now, my home town.. One day i will leave here to go to Mauritius as it remains on my travel list... I hope to last 6 months there..

bolaomega:O2 sensors for 1999 C280 as a refrence point, is between $75 and $54.. They also come in section units.. They have upstream and down stream sensors and some are for the left side and others for the right side.. Your car may not require more than two if not only one.. Here are photo price samples for reference.. I doubt your car will require anything more expensive than this.. It all depends on who you buy it from especially if you buy in Nigeria.. Never waste your money buying a used sensor. Only do so if you have no other option and you manage with a close watch on the thing.. You can get lucky if it was a new installation salvaged from a car that was wrecked.. But still, just try to always go with new sensors...
|
bolaomega:Check out these screen shots... The catalytic converter comes in several sections and they sell per section.. Front, rear and driver side or passenger side.. This is just a sample based on 1999 C280 6 cylinder.. I am guessing there are 4 sections and each around $166 or up to $200.. That can be around $700 to $800.. They can even be higher in price depending on what type you get or what car you have... These things are being removed because they are worth a lot of money for just a single part.. Some cars are cheaper to replace engine for them than to replace the full catalytic converter array.. You may want to explore used CC's because the prices there can be extremely cheap or a rip off.. They steal the CC's often to remove the precious metals inside to sell. Costly metals.. It may be possible to buy a used unit that has been stripped of its catalyst precious metal.. That would be a real waste and double tap upon your wallet and confidence.. Check out these sample prices for reference point. I did not include prices for O2 sensors because they are cheap items.. The big cost in US is the price you pay to install it right... Maybe mechanic labour in Naija is not so costly? The magna flow version in the photos, has a wider diameter exhaust flow..That is for people who install wider muffler/silencers at the rear. Those are usually louder but they add more power to the car... If you dont have wide diameter silencer, then magna flow is excess for you and no need... If you dont have a twin exhaust, then you may not need two rear CC sections... Be sure to inspect how many section peices are required for your vehicle... Maybe its possible you only need one section as some small 4cylinder engines with single muffler have...?
