Right from the inception of Nigeria as an Independent Nation, it has had leadership that were educated in europe, and influences from more developed countries... The microcosm of a developed nation was seeded in Nigeria even in 1960, and the microcosm of western leadership models were seeded within Nigeria's indigenous leadership... |
That may not be Nigerians doing that.. The Nigerian seller may have bought it as an import from China or those parts.. They are notorious for crude fakes like that in china.. They even added a few useless bolt post for the effect of the weights of the magnets ,circuitry and motors that a real HD would have... |
steppin:Yes it looks so ,but Ocelot is Native to south and central america with some ranging into the lower hot climate reaches of North america... So they are not found in Africa... Thats in the Civet Family.. The coat pattern matches most closely the Genet... I am living now in the Lower north american hot climate region where we have ocelots, mountain lions and other types of mid size to small size wildcats.. Not easy to see them, they are rare and very stealthy... |
Justfollowit:No, and as it may be, the creature OP put is likely a Genet which i did not know about.. But its still very related to the Civet.. I just have travelled and been to the south asian, amazon and african rain forest before. And i always check out information on the types of wildlife out there.. I too was once a jungle loving bush boy in Ondo state.. |
cooljude:Yes you found a good candidate... The coat pattern matches the Genets more consistently.. Its amazing they are two different creatures but look so mch alike... I wont be surprised if the Yahoo searched pictures of the Civets i posted, actually have Genets among them that have been mistaken as Civets.. At least one of the Civet pictures looks more like a Genet.. See Pics of the Genets i found Thanks for the insight.. I searched for other options and nothing like Genet came up for me...
|
CIVETS They are somewhat omnivores, they will eat meat, insects and also fruits and vegetables... Maybe they were hungry trying to eat some Yam or rice cookng nearby.. There is one called a palm civet.. Maybe there is palm oil plantation near by and they are there feeding on palm oil fruit or other type of plam tree fruits? If its Surulere jubilee model school, then it looks like they followed the canals water way from the bush areas and then crossed the expressway into the school area because there is open space safe haven from the bustling city... Nothing there for them to eat except people's rubbish, insects, lizards and rats... They can live the same life of a cat and even more.. They are nocturnal and so they do all their movements at night when the area is not so busy with traffic keeping them from crossing the expressways through the city... Thats why they are rarely seen, they move at night and easliy mistaken for a house cat in the dark shadows.. They climb anything very well... In North america we have the Racoon, it would be in the same distant relative category, simlar to a cat but not the same species.. They have Civets in Asia and they sell a type of costly coffee in Vietnam, called Civet coffee.. The civets eat the coffee berries and excrete the seeds whole and intact, then the coffee makers take the excrement of whole coffee seeds and use them to make highly prized coffee selling for a very expensive price... The digestion by the civets must impart a desirable flavor or super health tonic qualities...? orlaryhincah:Some others. They dont come in one coat pattern like leopards and tigers.. These things have varied coat patterns.. Like I said, the one in OP's picture has a unique pattern that is not in any photos online.. Thats why not to kill them, that one may be a rare unclassified species or type.. It's body and tail is very much like most Civets, but it could be a rare kind that needs to be preserved. It may even be something else like and Ocelot, but the body and tail matches mostly Civet like in these photos.... I looked at Ocelot and it doesnt match them... Dont Kill these things people of Naija, they may even be undiscovered species if not endangered rare species...
|
orlaryhincah:They are not all the same hair and spot patterns.. Some are diffferent spot and stripe patterns while others have a different posture.. The one OP put is not showing exact coat match except for one picture i found is somewhat a match... It mst be a rare one they killed.. I am glad that two escaped to continue the species...
|
That may be an Ocelot, Its a rare type of dwarf leopard..But its coat pattern is more like a Civet... I could be a rare african Civet.. They never get very big, so that one in the photo may be almost an adult... They are not dangerous to people and should not be killed because of fear...We Need Education of people to know that they are not deadly and that they are the ones in danger of extinction because of people... Oyan is the name of a type of west african Civet.. This may be the Oyan or related, it has a banded tail and spots somewhat like this one.. They extract musk from them to use in perfume.. Its also known as African Linsang Civet.. |
The most expensive flights are on routes that dont have many customers going... Naimey? What is there? And thats why its expensive, the airlines cant fill planes enough to cover the cost by charging normal rates... Also its more expensive to get advanced aircraft support to the most remote places.. I have seen tickets as high as $10,000.oo economy class that only go remote places not known by most people on earth, and the final leg to the destination was an obscure charter flight... |
I once paid for an 11hour flight from Hawaii to philippines asia.. I was seated next to a man so fat, that his arm alone needed an enitre seat or at least half a seat.. Unfortunately, it was my seat i had paid in full -that his arm occupied while i shrunk my slim self even smaller so he could have room to grow fatter... He had serious health issues and his breathing was seriously troubled and he carried an oxygen tank... Eventually he ran out of oxygen and needed the stewardess to help him fumble a replacement... The confusion lasted a long time and it all happened over my seat and head and body.. It was not easy for me, but it was harder on him being so out of shape or in terrible excess of shape and seriously unhealthy, i am just amazed he wasn't slumped dead by the time of touch down in Manila... I just knew all the trouble would make me stronger and work my body into keeping slim and healthy... I was polite and considerate and accomodationg of him the whole way, even though i know he didnt end up like that by being considerate and moderate in his life.... So i know i have put in brotherly consideration for my fellow man in this life, no matter how much of an inconveinience he was.. But, Chai! 11hours! Thats why i never forget to this day... |
What do u guys think?[/quote]Thats a good price if the exchange rate is 200 to 1$.. Dont waste time trying to find cheaper.. The price may go up if you delay.. Trying to get better than this is not easy and there is more risk this one may sell out while you delay, and then only more expensive ones will remain... Its a good deal you have there... |
Phema:Im a US army veteran and also have rental property.. My Army Veteran status pays me , thats what really makes travel easy ,away from work. The rental property doesnt require me to always be there either, especially that i use a management company to handle the place when i am gone for the winter half of the year... ![]() |
You see! Cigarette is BAD for YOU and me... Its only mercy that i survived my many years of smoking the sticks... I could also have been facing charges of murder or be the one deceased in the case... Thankful i dont have the desperation to smoke it or sell it any more.. Yes i used to sell cigarettes also when i had a shop long ago... I quit it all and i hope for others to have such fortune before the damage like i have incurred ,ensues. |
This is an old fashioned common sense village woman (mother in law).. You never understand the hard work put into raising a son until you see his mother descend upon ~in the shower~ the would be woman who would just come and pluck him for free... Would you spend your life building a castle and easily let some one just come in and take over without properly inspecting that they have the proper requirements to entitle them to move in and take over? Wise Mother in-law knows all these modern day girls raised in the city who involve in all kinds of <#%*¥\#> How will she know if na transgender deceive her boy until he commit suicide after discovering after the wedding..? How will she know if you have birthmarks that she learned in traditional times to be signs that person na born of bad spirits set to do bad works in this world..? How will she know if she needs to disinfect you from what contagions you may bring her son? It would be best to let her clean you, good for you and her son.. How will she know if.... |
Phema:Tucson is much slower than Pheonix. Yes thats how i like it, slow and easy with clean fresh air... Dont go in the summer when temperatures in phoenix can reach over 120F degrees... I am just here for the winter time to enjoy the warmer weather and fresh air... I dont like big cities. Phoenix is big but not like NY, LA, chicago... Lots of wide open space in Arizona, so it doesnt feel like there are millions of people in phoenix.. Tucson is around 1million people... Enjoy your day.. |
Its possible to do it, but not without adjustments such that inverts the inflation so that the goods devalue in accordance with the Naira value increase.. Countries like Ecuador, Panama, and Elsavador all use the US$ and Panama actually has a designated currency called the Balboa which is equal to the US dollar, but the people simply choose to use the US$ instead... The difference is, when they spend the US dollar their country, it buys much more local goods and services than it does in the US.. You can increase the value of the currency but not without balancing out by deflating the value of goods sold in the country... It can be done just as ghana did with the Cedi.. Knock a few zeros off the currency value or just divide by the needed fraction to make a one to one trade, but establish that the same divison and fractioning be done at point of sale of goods and services... <See Nigerians trying to continue to charge 5-10naira for pure water in plastic, even after the naira comes down to equal the US$> It can be done as long as all other necessary factors are adjusted as well.... In the end, it makes no real difference... The correct way to go, is to increase wages and vital industry subsidies and investments in infrastructure in the country... This will grow the GDP.. Doing like china to keep prices low for export advantages, is not good for the people of the nation even though it is good for the accounting books of the big industries of nation..It only keeps majority of the people in poverty... The great competition for value in the world currency market is not as important as setting up an equitable land of people who are not suffering just to support exports and imports they cannot afford to buy... Some countries that have done well with unique products that sell well on the international market and command a very good price, have found that they cannot afford their own home grown product because the high wage countries have driven up the price and demand for it abroad. Most Chinese cant afford many of the products they make for america, like apple Computers and phones.. Peru grows a crop called Quinoa, it is native to their land and people and a long time staple of their diets... It is in such high demand in USA and beyond, that the export price is now more than what the native growers can afford to pay to eat it, so they sell it overseas and eat rice and corn instead... Quinoa is a better food, but they have been out bid in Peru and Bolivia from their own home grown produce... Imagine common Nigerians not able to afford sugar, yam or palm oil, because the international export price and demand, grows higher than what Nigerians can produce and afford to pay, so the farmers sell it all abroad for more $ while the Nigerian people have to do without.. Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it... Focus on equitable living for all people of Nigeria and no need worry how the Naira compares to dollar.. If they do reset the Naira to equal One US$, people with 10kNaira monthly salary will be rich..Its only 2k$ monthly needed in average America to be comfortably above poverty with a house and small new car and eating well... So, it will be so outrageous that it will automatically drive the naira value down again because so much money around makes people spend wild and pay outrageous prices just because they can.. And they will do so until even water cost 10 naira again from the hawkers.. Its like when all people are millionaire, everything will be charged at a millionaires rate until a million is no longer much money.. When millionaires move into an area, it quickly drives up the prices until they have to spend more of their money just to continue to be there.. Nigeria will have to adjust and maybe even issue new currency where only the new currency is allowed to be traded at the new value... The cost and hassle of making a new currency is much... And then add that the Nigerian market cultrue is inherently destined to inflation by the constant corruption and overpricing of uderperforming quality and relability... The market culture needs to change.. The US is a place where you go with your currencyUS$ to the market or point of sale, and you get a standard price with no rampant culture of price gougeing tactics that require haggling all the time.. Also the measures to control trade and exchange, are complex and not so incompetent at following through with enforcing what is right for a stable economy and associated factors.... |
All questions must be answered honestly, when being asked by immigration officers on official duty.. He said he knows no one in London, yet he had in his possesion a contact number for a person in London... If that person was contacted and answered the immigation officers questions to confirm that they knew each other, then all the evidence they need, is there for establishing that he lied to them.. It may seem he did nothing wrong and even his lie seems to be concealing nothing illegal or out of the ordinary, but it stands that he accumulated the breach of immigration rules by declaring he did not know anyone in London... That alone is enough to revoke a visa.. But it may be in this case, that there was possibly more to the issue than just lying.. |
Rubbish, Na d son make knacking on d house helper.., He may be young, but man na man at any age ,and house girl will always be at risk of being knacked... The young boy just copied what he saw his daddy doing to her before, and the girl was in fear that if she forced the young boy off, there would be double grind to pay when his daddy returned home... |
icebeatz:When ever i need a car, i rent one.. I am in business for myself and it doesnt require me to have a car right now.. I sold my car last year because it sat idle for long periods every year while i travelled and my eager friends put dents in the vehicle and accumulated wear and tear i had to pay to fix while i was abroad not enjoying the car... I sold the car and continue travel every six months over seas where a car cannot come... This year is travelling between east coast and west coast USA and i rent a new car on arrival for a week, to settle in and then get a monthly unlimited pass to ride the city public transit.. Many top business leaders and government officials use the USA public transport, even some famous millionaire actors.. When i go over seas, taxi dey plenty and cheap... I have a management company manage my investments while i am not around.. The money i save from not having to gas and maintain and insure a car, is enough already to buy a nice new car, and more than enough to pay my public transport passes and rent a car or hire taxi when absolutely needed, and travel the world and still have money saving towards more investment.... How you invest wil determine how you arrive.. Better to arrive slow and easy with real potential than to arrive hard a heavy without stability to sustain it... Never good to have more accessories than you can manage while travelling around, too much baggage makes a horrible journey experience,,, Once upon a time, even Mighty Mike Tyson had the most expensive house in USA and all the most expensive cars... $300m house.. Bentley and all any one could ever need.. He had enough to cover his family in wealth for generations to come... He rolled hard and heavy to the full extent of his means... Eventually, in less than one decade, he went from enough money to cover his family in wealth for generations to come, to not being able to put together a few thousand dollars... Take it easy with all that high roller mentality... Many other mega millionaires have fallen into the pits of homelessness on the hard streets... I am the opposite, once i slept in my car on the streets for 2 months while i owned a house.. I rented it to someone.. That house eventually netted me more profit than i had ever made before that time..Around 5.8 million naira in only six years... Some will blow all their worth to show on arrival, and later be sleeping on the streets... I will rather sleep on the streets today by choice, to save my money so as not to be forced to sleep on the streets flat broke in the future... At least my method always leaves me what i need to eat and cover emergency and a more assured growth into the future.. Plus it keeps me connected to the simple life of the average person and not so much contempt for less fortunate. |
This is the president (Maybe he is finished with his term by now?) of Uruguay, or is it Paraguay? Any way, one of those countries... Google it and read his story... He drives old VW beetle from the 1980's or 1970's and it has not been repainted or rufurbished in any presidential fashion.. His house is a farm peasant dwelling and he appears to be what most people would mistake for a never do well.... He is Mr. president in his country where ^Marijuana* was made leagal... Listen to him and see how people caste one another from the depths of their own misconceptions of wealth and status..

Dont be misled, maybe the vehicle is important for his work and earning a living.. Maybe living in the cheap simple rented place, is actually his attempt to save money so its not all spent on rent and car... Its really not sufficient evidence of anything unbalanced, until you see what he is earning versus what he is spending.. But yes its true, many do buy more than they can comfortably afford, just to appear more endowed than they are.. I am single and dont drive a car ,and live in a simple rented self contained.. But i own a Quadraplex house elsewhere, rented out to 4 separate tenants and I also own over 3000sqm land out in a quiet small town area, and that doesn't include my abandoned rights to land in Grandfathers village where he was the chief in Nigeria.. In addition, there is the matter of how much i earn and how much i have in savings.. When you look at me and see no car, living in rented small self contained, my clothes look like that of a common simple person and even faded color from old age,( I do spend quite well on good strong quality shoes though). You would easily think i was a waste of time even though you would end up picking another guy who has all you are looking for, but has not much money left because he bought has all the things you are looking for.. I always hear young girls talking on the bus, how they will never date a person who rides the bus, because they need a man who can afford a car.. They have no Idea that the money i save becaue of riding the bus, is enough to buy a second house or second land, and those girls will just rather put their behinds in some guys car to ride around, and they just grow fatter, and fatter and more discontented along every stage of accomplishment, and pressure their man to no avail but the growth of fat behinds and emotional torpor from the girl's selfish ways of reasoning... I will wait for the poor bush girl who sees me and just takes me because she is happy to have someone pay her fare on the bus on our way to buy Boli and Epa... Then she will find herself surprisingly well endowed by a love that does not show off, yet grows out of simple frugal conservation of value that really matters... |
just an idea of how big USA is.. Flying from Houston to Miami is like flying from lagos to congo..
|
Your search is in Euros? You are flying to USA, search in US$. Any way, €1,140 looks like a good price if it is from lagos direct to USA and then a transfer flight to Miami... Its hard to find cheaper than that unless you fly direct to Houston texas and no transfer flight to other cities.. Houston is the hub for US carriers to Nigeria.. I think they also have some flights from Atlanta... United and Delta are the US carriers that ply Nigeria route and they have their hubs in houston... The cheapest flights are direct non transfer flights to a carriers hub airport.... Newyork has european and other international carriers that will get you from Nigeria to USA or from USA to Nigeria... JFK flights are easy to find good prices from Nigeria, but then comes the price of the transfer to Miami... Houston is far from Miami but not so bad to go cheap by road if you have time to spare for adventure to see the land.. My airline is United, i have used them to fly to quite a number of international and domestic USA routes... I will likely use them to fly to Nigeria in the next few years.. I have a mileage account with them and have around 15k miles registered with them to date.. That will earn me some advantages eventually when i reach frequent flier status... I use a web site called CheapOair... They find the cheapest flights automatically, but its not easy to get a flight booked there that originates outside of USA or permited countries.. It may have to do with the websites restricted right to operate for foriegn customers.. You can book flights from USA to Nigeria and roundtrip back to USA, using cheapOair...

SkinnyDude:Thank you jare, a real mans friend.. I beg you now, put a topic for us to see pictures of places we can enter for 4000 Naira and less per night.. |
Look at the Japanese Yen.. It does not look very valuable either.. The UK pound is higher value than the US$ ,but the US$ has more total currency value flowing out in the world.. Even china is holding US$ as a good portion of its economic power.. Many nations hold US dollars while other nations simply use US$ as their only currency...Panama, ElSalvador and Ecuador to name a few.. Its not really how it compares to other currencies, but how much of it is in circulation... US$ is the most circulated... Japan is #3 or #4 economy in the world and their currency rates as low value.. How is that possible? Because they circulate huge amounts of the currency there and do it in a way that balances out for their high GDP behind the currency.. Japan salaries in the millions per annum is very common and actually needed to survive there... People need to focus on the value they put into their labor force along with the goods and services they create.. Then it wont matter what the rate of exchange is, only the amount in circulation...

Guayana is quite the Jungle.. And i mean it is mostly forested in pristine amazon jungle... It is low population and quite a simple place with little hustle to it compared to life in most Nigerian cities... If you like laid back small town or village lifestyle and lots of jungle fruits and wild meat and fish, then that is the place for you.. Its an adventure though if you are looking to experience beyond. Salary comparisn is beyond my knowledge.. I am not sure if salary will be enough compared to Nigeria, but maybe stability will be moreso in Guayana.. Especially if it really is an american school.. If it is, then go for the opportunity to make further connections in a working field that is affiliated with america.. You never know, they may find a future position for you in america or another country in the Americas or beyond.. Working in federal government institutions in Nigeria is a career but not a world adventure by far, and many are always in line for the one top position.. Some times salary goes unpaid for months in some Nigerian states |
Wow! I enjoyed this thread.. Its so hard to get people to talk in detail about prices in Nigeria... I am hearing all this input about rent per annum, transport, meat, rice, drinking-water for various regions and broad range category from cheapest to expensive.. I have travelled to stay in 17 different countries in my lifetime including Nigeria in my younger days.. I always research the cost of living in places i plan to go to in the future.I plan to reach more than my previous 17 countries ,before 2017.. Nigeria is one of the hardest places to get clear comprehensive cost of living writeups online... This Post here has filled in with much good information and i am inspired.. From what i read in this post, Nigeria is cheap overall.. Maybe its expensive from an average Nigerian salary earners perspective.. But Nigeria is over priced when it comes to property prices in the priciest areas of lagos and such where they list with agencies even for 10million Naira per annum for luxury dwellings that dont compare in quality of living for the same in USA.. If i had that kind of money, i would rather live in USA or Europe.. Because the general public environs are as important as the private compound a person dwells All the countries i travelled in ,other than Canada,USA and Europe, i was able to live entire monthly cost of living at 160k-180k naira a month.. That covered public transport, food, rent, and miscellaneous things... These were all cheaper countries like Thailand, philippines, peru, ecuador, panama, costarica, Nicaragua, Honduras, guatemala, and belize.... Belize more expensive now.. Also i always lived in the above average accomodations for the various locales. Some places i just lived in the hotel for around 2400naira a night...Not the luxurious ones, just enough to be clean and comfortable and in areas americans and european tourist also stay.. 200k naira total monthly cost of living is a very low cost of living for me these days... I get by right now on 250k naira a month total expenses in USA but all my income is actually in $.. Rent alone right now is 119k naira monthly... So even 1.5m per annum rent is not so expensive.. Although here in USA i am only renting a well furnished and comfortable 1 bedroom with all electric and water included.. I would get a bigger house than needed, if i paid the same in naija... My expenses here are not that of a rich man.. I budget and stay within allowances to save money to travel every year and other responsibilities ,but I eat well and healthy.. Good input from people on this topic.. I think i will find Nigeria quite cheap when i come with the same budget..... |
