Yeah... Possibly so, but we can't be absolutely sure that their brides don't wear white. Summarily I think if we actually esteemed marriage for what it was meant to be and do, we won't even be having this discussion on whether or not white wedding gowns means this or that.

I didnt use any emphatic or absolute tense in any of my statements... If you've been privy to the historical authentication surrounding why the groom wears black and the bride wears white-please enlighten us... Or rather me especially... I wouldn't mind.

Actually far from it....i perceived it is a colonial reference....The Black wedding is the traditional marriage which is the proper before the advent of the colonial masters...to make their culture relevant is imposing their own style now called "WHITE WEDDING"- meaning the marriage of the white people, not blacks...it has nothing to do with purity or being a maiden. It is the marriage of the Whites (style) and how they do their thing .

Ohh.. I see... I think I agree somewhat, I wouldn't have expected our fore-fathers(pre-colonial) to have been adorning their daughters with a white coloured attire, if any colour at all were to be used for such a purpose, it would have been an "earthy" color (brown, black, green) and not white.

So let's say the white wedding/wedding gown was a product of the White's way of life... Why do you think they chose the color "white" for a wedding gown.... and being that much of the movement of the colonial masters where through the stems of religion, don't you still think that even the White's choice of a white wedding gown has some connection, no matter how remote, to depicting "holiness and purity" of the bride?

The white is supposed to connote "purity"

But then again are we talking about the name of the ceremony "white wedding" to connote purity or are we referring to the white wedding gown that connotes purity?

If it's the latter, then all grooms should be made to wear white suits, and if the reason why most grooms wear black suits or otherwise is to suggest that the groom is allowed to be "dirty" before marriage, that would be being unfair to the female folk.

Who understands what I just said

Do you mean one should write down his ideas out on paper?... I have tonnes of ideas, I'm in the creative industry to be precise, so naturally I'm drowned with so many ideas, many atimes when they come I just jot them down in one of those random note applications I downloaded from Google play... But I find that it doesn't still make any difference, instead it makes me feel so frustrated because I know these are wonderful ideas and concepts but they are just lying there scattered.... So how can I organize my concepts properly..

Do you suggest I get a Fancy book and pen and transfer all of them inside by hand-writing?
